White PC builds

I was recently browsing through some completed Micro ATX builds for some ideas and layouts as it had been about 8 years since i build a "new" PC and 2-3 since i refreshed one. 

Can someone please explain to me the appeal of a white case/build. It looked to me that about 90% of the builds i saw was a white build. Am i missing something?

Is it to make the RGB lighting pop more because it's reflecting off white and not black?
