So there is my planned rig and I was wondering if anybody could offer any advice. I plan to use it for some gaming, though nothing much newer than Kerbal Space Program, as well as some 3D rendering through Blender.

You don’t need a platinum PSU for 650W, and you don’t need an NVME ssd, a SATA one is good enough for regular use.

 

Something like a Corsair RM650x and Samsung 860 Evo 1TB are good replacements

The M.2 is planned to be both my boot drive and where I will keep programs like Avid and Blender while the HDD is going to be more for file storage and Steam games. As for the PSU? That is true, but looking online at them, it is actually cheeper to go with Platinum.

You don't need a hyperfaaaaaaast 970, 960 is good enough.
