Multiple monitors over USB C

Hello, I am trying to find a cheap(ish) way to run two monitors off one display port 1.4 enabled USB C port(not thunderbolt). There are display port splitters on amazon, but they are kind of expensive. Would it be possible to have a USB C hub/splitter which I could then plug in two USB C to display port adapters?
