So, I ordered a fractal define meshify c mini a few days ago and apparently it arrived at midnight yesterday. Because of this it was left outside in the rain for a while. I have a roofed front porch but strangely the package was left in front of my garage. Long story short, my case was dripping wet when I unboxed it, so I checked the io pcb and found what seems to be water damage. Can someone perhaps more familiar with the subject inform me if this is indeed water damage, or just residue from the factory? As for the rest of the case water didn't contact any other cables or touch the fans, so the pcb is my only concern.

I would have to take out my current pc's motherboard and test it with the new case to find out. I don't have any other way of determining if it works or not.

JUST... DO IT

Let it dry overnight, it'll work even if it's water damaged. I wash my PCB everyday when doing soldering jobs

Interesting. I'm currently letting it dry out, so i'll give the case a try tomorrow. Thanks

Some organic flux like the one I use with lead free solder are only water soluble. So I wash my boards after soldering and use some pressurized air to help it dry for a minute or two. Then i let it dry for a few minutes before testing the circuit. But I think the one you are seeing is just bad QA or you have really hard rain water which leaves residue when it dries. You can try to clean it with some rubbing alcohol.

I'm thinking it may just be bad QA because the rain was relatively light last night. Either way I'll try some rubbing alcohol.

Water damage? Don’t think that’s how it works. It isn’t a basement. Clean it and send it.
