Need help with new build

Hi everyone,

 

So my old rig (~5 years old) has failed me recently and I initially wanted to switch out my spoilt motherboard for another. However, I face the fact that LGA 1150 socket is poorly stocked currently. So I am now on the fence for a new build and with a smaller form factor. This is fairly initial stage of my planning and I have not layout much and would hope to get some comments and opinions from you guys. My key concern is to keep the build under budget of SGD$1000 (excluding peripherals and OS) but something that could last my causal usage for at least 5 years.

 

The purpose of the rig is for causal gaming and movies on 1080p, and occasional work,no intention to overclock. I want something small so it does not occupy much desk space and hopefully able to be brought around. I am also curious if i can savage any parts from my old rig to this. Currently, it seems like I have plenty to upgrade which is a waste of the functional parts.

 

OLD ATX build:

CPU: Intel i5-4670

CPU Cooler: CM Hyper212x

RAM: 2x 8Gb DDR3 Corsair Vengeance

GPU: ASUS NVIDIA GTX760

PSU: Corsair CS650M

 

NEW mITX BUILD:

CPU: ?

CPU Cooler: AIO liquid cooler with 120mm radiator

Motherboard: mITX board

RAM: 2x 4GB DDR4

GPU: ASUS NVIDIA GTX760

PSU: Corsair SF450 (unsure which version (80+Gold or 80+Plat) available)

Case: Phanteks Evolv Shift

 

Additional comments:

Now i really just like the new mITX cases that are small and very displayable on my desk so the concern is fitting into case.

Should I get a new rig currently ? or like wait out for (if there is any) hardware updates that are upcoming ?

I have been seen great reviews for the recent AMD Ryzen chip and wonder if there is anything suitable for me.

The undecided chip also led to an undecided board. (the board is a big headache)

If there isn't any specific brand or model preference for RAM and CPU cooler, I will find whichever is available and cheap.

Unsure if I should upgrade my current graphic card or reuse this for my new build.

Sorry i forget to mention that i will be bringing my storage over from the old rig (1TB HDD and 250Gb SSD) so not getting anything new.
