Speedfan messed up my fan speeds

toothbrush

My first post on the LTT forums.

I have fiddled with SpeedFan the last few days. After this, whenever I boot my computer, my case fans goes to max speed. This happens during POST; before any OS boots. I can correct this by opening SpeedFan in Windows and reducing the fan speed there, but this gets tedious to do every time I turn on my computer. I also run a dual boot system (Debian 9.4/Windows 10), and being a newbie at Linux I have no idea how to control fan speeds there. All this worked fine before I installed SpeedFan and started fiddling with it.

What I have tried:

- Fiddling more with SpeedFan (I do stupid stuff some times)

- Resetting BIOS to factory defaults

My case fans are connected directly to the motherboard. I have looked around the forum here and the internet in general, but haven't found any help yet. Please let me know if anything in my post is unclear.

Hmm.. I must be blind. LOL at me.

EDIT: At least I'm good at making a fool of myself. Feel free to close/delete this thread.
