Software control RGB

pomkon

Thermaltake RIING rgb i heard they have to be hardware controlled. It needs a hub. Do all rgb fans need a hub? Should a rgb motherboard be able to sync with fan rgbs?

i.e. most x370 have 7 fan headers, 7 fans can be connected without a hub. Then the motherboard software can control the rgb?

Motherboard to power the fans, controller for RGB.

It does not work w/ motherboard RGB header.

it seems thermaltake riing plus can be software controlled, but you still need a hub?

Note the presence of the controller box in the photo of the Riing plus pack.

Thermaltake Riing, NZXT Hue, Corsair Link, etc... are all closed ecosystems not compatible w/ mobo headers.

The only company I know that make Aura compatible stuff is Coolermaster.

Another Exception to this rule is the MSI board that has Corsair's proprietary header on it.

they cant be controlled by the mobo because they choose to make dif headers? But CM rgb fan headers fit on mobo?

So to sync rgb with music, it has to go thru the controller hub, then to the mobo, and then software controlled?

with those msi mobo, you dont need a controller?
