Hi guys. First things first, I absolutely can't believe I've been watching LTT for probably the same time I've owned this damn watch, or even before that, and I've never used the forum. I'm sure I'm posting this on the wrong place in the forum, but, again, I'm new. This watch has been through all of my smartphones, from my original sony ericsson live with walkman, to my current galaxy A7 (2018). However, I'd stopped using it due to a broken wristband. I just bought a galaxy fit 2, but that's just a fitness band to me. Doesn't have the same classiness that my original Sony watch i own has :) Now, I've picked up new wristbands for like 2€ in aliexpress and I'd like to keep using it. The thing is, with Sony dropping support since idk how long and the app not even showing up on the Google Play store anymore, I've been having a hard time setting it up. I've downloaded the apk for the Sony smartwatch 2 App directly from the Sony page for it and I've used the Aptoide app store to download a few apps for it, like calendar and notification passthrough, but I can't seem to get it anywhere close to working on it and I'd really like to because, again, i really like this watch. Can anyone help me? Pretty please? I'd hate to just bench this little boi. Thank you

Is Galaxy Watch Active series doesn't get recognized/isn't a thing in west country? Lately I have been looking for smartwatch, so obviously I'm watching LTT, MKBHD, etc (someone who at least has a decent level of credibility, which most I know are US based) for recommendation. In shortcircuit video, unboxing apple watch 6, Linus basically says that Apple Watch 5 and 6 are the only top brand with always on display. But galaxy watch active from the first one already have AOD. So I try to look a review on that device, but there's non from a recognizable youtuber. Which I think it's weird especially for mobile device youtuber. Even unbox therapy (which personally I think isn't credible) doesn't post any video about these watch series. So what's the deal here? *sorry for bad english

So I can't install any apps from my phone to my Apple Watch Series 3 (yes I know I should have waited like a month and gotten the SE). When I tap install on the app from the list in the Watch app it spins for about a quarter of a second then just goes right back to the install button. I'm running latest Watch OS and iOS. Help?! In the WAN show you talked about doing actual testing on wearable fitness trackers etc. I can do that testing Through Squires.Fitness or at the University of Colorado Anschutz medical campus. no charge you just have to get to colorado. VO2 Max, Fuel utilization and Lactate Threshold I can make make it happen any day. Now, who knows how to get this actually looked at by linus? Email shanon.squires@ucdenver.edu or shanon@squires.fitness

So I have decided that I want to get a smartwatch but am having trouble finding the right one. I have an LG V10. I have been looking at the Samsung S2 / S3 as well as the TomTom Spark3. Here are my requirements. 1) Must play music (Bluetooth headset) without another device - ie. smartphone or mp3 player. 2) Must be water resistant (I sweat a lot and would like to swim with it) 3) Would prefer to have GPS function to track running distance. 4) My budget is dependent on the quality to price ratio. So after reading this, would any of you have a better suggestion than the Samsung or TomTom watches listed above? If so...why? Thank you for your time in advance!

Apple is still one of the world's most valuable companies with products such as the iPhone and Macbook driving their business Augmented Reality is now one of the emerging technologies with companies like Microsoft and Magic Leap working on headsets There were of course some attempts by companies like Google that didn't really end up blowing everyone's socks off (the Note 7 did ) Apple is now looking towards tapping into the market with reports of the company looking towards building their own set of wearable There are of course concerns being raised with whether the product will sell given competitor's previous attempts with the technology This is still has to be taken with a grain of salt given how young the market is and how far the technology has to go before being convenient There are still some hurdles that the company has to overcome, hurdles that have haunted the companies that failed to deliver I personally look forward to the technology pushing forward given the many applications it has, and just how amazing the technology looks The applications seem to be endless with hospitals using it to aid doctors and organizations like NASA designing and building spacecraft with the technology I've personally tried Google Glass and it did make me realize that the future is coming sooner than I expected albeit expensive More and more companies seem to be jumping towards adapting the technology which makes the future a little brighter Sources: Bloomberg, The Verge, Business Insider (1) (2)

I see 4 boxes with trash written all over them. So, I go over to them and open them up and this is what is inside. The failed Microsoft fitness tracker branded as an Xbox product called the “Joule”. This was probably the precursor to the Microsoft Band. The GPS functionality never connects, and the clock starts at 4:00 whenever you power cycle the device but I did get it to pick up time once while being plugged into usb while connected to my desktop. The heart rate monitor seems to be working correctly. Very interesting to see a prototype that was most of the way complete getting thrown away. I just wonder if it could be finished somehow to at least get the gps working properly and have the clock hold a time? Hey Linus, ya want one?

Most of the data on fitness trackers/smartwatches seems to point towards cramming more media functionality or high-end outdoors functions. However, I am looking for essentially the notification screen on my wrist, plus time, weather, stopwatch, and a heartbeat sensor. Must have 24 hours + of battery life, decently durable, and under $200 (apple watch, you are out). Anything extra is nice, but does anyone here have any thoughts on smartwatches or fitness trackers from a notifications perspective? Note that I do not need to be able to reply, just view. Currently looking at the Fitbit Charge 3, but the reviews aren't stellar. Let me know if there are other questions.

Hello! I'm looking for a solution for my incredibly first world problem. I have two phones, one of them is my private and that has an LG GWatch Urbane Connected to it. However i need something for my work phone. I have a kind of phase at my workplace where i need to know almost instantly if i recieve a new email or calendar invite. Therefore i need a device that does nothing else but vibrates and displays lights (preferably with a comfigurable rgb led for each type of notificaton.) and does not have any other function at all. Or if it has than it can be turned off or easily ignored. Thanks in Advance

Wondering if you guys could help me find a good fitness tracker. There seem to be a lot out there and telling the good from the bad has been tricky. I figured I'm probably not the first one to go through this so maybe the community could help and provide me with some of their own feedback. Must include- - under $50 dollars (US) - heartbeat sensor - sleep tracking - screen with time indicator And if possible - decent or good enough app -purchaseable through reputable seller Thanks!

I currently have a Samsung Gear Live and I love this watch, but it's getting old and I've already had to replace the battery after it stopped charging. I've found out that it is not scheduled to get the update to Android Wear 2.0/Wear OS, so I'm reluctantly looking at a new watch. I'm aiming for a Android Wear 2.0 device with a square screen, but there doesn't seem to be many on the market anymore. I prefer not to get a round screen, especially those with the "flat tire" screens, so I'm trying to see what else is out there. I've looked at the Zenwatch 2 so far, but even that is starting to look a little old and barely made the cut for Wear 2.0. What bothers me is the specs on that device are nearly identical to my Gear Live, so I don't understand how it's supposed to be so much better, or why it gets the Wear 2.0 upgrade and mine doesn't. Are there any other nice looking square Wear 2.0 devices that are still good in 2018? I like the more sleek looks of the Gear Live and Zenwatch 2, but it seems like the square watch is a dying breed among Android Wear devices.

Hi all, So I recently bought a Striiv Fusion 2 activity tracker as feature wise it fit what I wanted out of a smart band (Media controls, Notifications and well fitness stuff) but unfortunately found that the band was incompatible with my Huawei P10 Lite, I got the Striiv for $80 and was wondering if there were any alternatives that would work for my phone at around the same pricing? Note: Pricing and Availability must be for New Zealand Cheers, Liam McGill

I'm currently debating whether or not to get a smart watch, specifically an Apple one, as I am an iPhone user. I'm aware of the basic features such as receiving notifications, health monitoring, GPS, etc but my phone can do all of these things regardless. Does anyone that owns a smart watch (not just the Apple variety) find that it has significantly improved your productivity by saving you precious seconds normally spent pulling your phone out of your pocket? I know I sound like I've made up my mind but I'm mainly curious about a largely enthusiast community's opinion on watches. And are there any cheaper options that get the job done that interface well with iOS?

Does anyone here have any experience with these "wearable" speakers? https://www.bose.com/en_us/products/speakers/portable_speakers/soundwear-companion.html#v=soundwear_companion_black I certainly think it's an interesting idea but some part of me is still very cautious. Maybe it has amazing sound quality and [Insert Other Audio-related Technical Jargon Here {probably including, but are not limited to: wave_, frequency_, _response,_highs_,_treble_...etc.}] while also not being (too) obnoxious to people around you, but again, I'm not sure how effective a speaker this is. Let me know your thoughts if you've had the chance to play with one.

Hi everybody I'm in the market for a wearable notification device. I already have a watch so I don't want a smart watch and I don't really care about fitness tracking: all I want is something on my wrist I can glance at to get some idea of any notifications I need to address (the vibration motor on my phone is not the best). The Razer Nabu X seems close to what I want (a screen isn't necessary - lights are more than enough - remember I will wear this in addition to a watch) but I'd prefer if I could set a specific color per app which apparently can't be accomplished with that particular device. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance

I just got an apple watch yesterday, and I really like it. The only problem is that I really want to switch over to android and if I do then my apple watch wont really be worth it. I was wondering what watch would be good to get instead of the apple watch that will work with my iPhone now and with an Android phone (probably going to get the new One Plus Three). I'm currently thinking that the Pebble Time will be the best but I wanted some more opinions on this. Thanks!

So i'm pretty sure this isn't a duplicate post! ( i used the search function, I'm fairly new though, apologies if i have it wrong!) How cool is this, a company called Chaotic Moon Studio has released a temporary tattoo to mimic the functions of wearable tech! It mimics wearable's like fitibit etc, I'd really love to see this technology put to use in the medical field. imagine the possibility's. The original article can be found here: http://www.news.com.au/technology/gadgets/wearables/a-company-is-developing-a-temporary-tattoo-to-mimic-the-functions-of-wearable-tech/news-story/a29dba02f7ed6054ee167244be6858c2 I'd like to know where you think this technology would fit in the market place? How cheap can a smartwatch be? Well this one costs about $22, has a camera, heart rate monitor, pedometer, motion sensor, etc. It looks a bit childish but considering how cheap it is, i think it's acceptable. The screen isn't great, and it's not too visible in direct sunlight. The battery will make it thru a full day, but you will need to charge it daily. Here is a review of it: Unfortunately i posted this in the wrong section
