Summary Tech Waste. Amazon in the UK, have shown to destroy a wast amount of items. From undercover footage shows, they use options to destroy certain unopened and what seems to be good products. They are labeled destroy, which is gathered and thrown away to a landfill and other places they use. The amount seems to be up towards 124,000 items in a WEEK, everything from books, forks to TVs and laptops. Quotes My thoughts This is often from companies that want to claim they are "green" or going "carbon neutral", while pulling this kind of crap onto everyone. Not only that, but from what we have seen how they treat their workers in both the US and europe, its not something to trust and it's all for senseless profit. Also the problem of general WASTE that can be BOUGHT from amazon, like 2x more disposable products compared to what you find in a general store. Amazon is going to grow like cancer, and make the body (everyone else) have to deal with the aftermath, while they soar what ever profit that might become less, due to the issues they bring upon the world. Hi All, Just a newbie looking for some info. Majority of you are in some technical line or are surrounded by technology. How do you dispose / recycle any form of hardware component be it from old switches to cellphones that aren't worth the selling effort? I am interested in any organisations / departments / countries efforts and how things are done all over the world (live in South Africa) even if you just chuck it in the bin

So I wanted to listen to music and I ran Spotify on my phone, I fell asleep and woke up the next day with the phone still playing music, it's been charging and listening to music for about 7-8 hours on my S9+ (quick charging) The battery obviously didn't get to 100% I'm usually a careful person battery wise and I've only had this phone for less than a month. How much damage have I caused it?

I bought one of Origin PC's custom builds for $3,100 but when it arrived (a week late) it came with damage to the paint to the top panel of the case and inside the fan grille. With the premium price tag (which was around $1,000 overpriced) I decided to return the PC. I made sure to email Origin tech team about the damage to the paint during shipping and the return. They responded. A few weeks later Origin PC refunded me $2,400 (the price I spent on the build was $3,100). That's a loss of $700 down the drain ??. Keep in mind this all happened during the 30 day money back guarantee. I'm building my own PC now but my budget is much lower due to those money hungry people. Give me your thoughts on this. Do you think there is there anything I can do? I have emailed them about the refund amount but they keep giving me BS about the paint. I even took pictures when it arrived to prove that it wasn't me. Some areas weren't even painted red (inside the grille for fans there were white patches) so that was the paint teams fault and would not be possible for me to do. In conclusion, I have decided to tell people about my experience so that they don't fall into the same trap I did. Build your own PC guys...

okey i will start off with my ps4.. i bought it autumn 2015 and i played on it the first month. since then i have only used it 5-6 times for 15-30 min sessions. i regret buying it. I bought it for playing bloodbourne which they only released for ps4.

And I'm in Toronto, Ontario... which means that I am in Canada where a loonie is often mistaken for an american quarter. My current set up: CASE: CoolerMaster MasterCase Pro 5 CPU: Intel Pentium G3258 GPU: ASUS GeForce GTX 950 Strix OC PSU: Rosewill Arc M550 (550W) MOBO: MSI H81-P33 RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury 4GB x1 SSD: Mushkin ECO2 120GB 2.5" HDD: Toshiba 500GB 5400RPM 2.5" As you can see my build is pretty much, obviously, a budget gaming PC (exception: CoolerMaster MasterCase Pro 5, Post Purchase) I get solid frames on my dual 1080p monitor set up on max settings in most games. BUT Once you look through the window, you immediately notice the stock fan cooler and a motherboard that looks very disproportionate to the available space making it look very baron. Hi all! I'm having a problem with this shitty System and compressed memory thingy, it's using all my ram lol. When i'm gaming tomb raider im getting lag spikes every few minutes, using a remote monitoring software, I can see on my phone that it keeps using the page file. And each time it does that, it lags, lol. Further checking with task manger, i find the culprit, it's the dreaded System and compressed memory service, just hogging over 6GB ram, just the same as tomb raider. How can i ask this service to just fuck off and let me game in peace? Now for my system specs: xenon x5660 @4.7ghz 3x 8GB Crucial ddr 3 1600mhz @ cas7 p6tdeluxe samsung 840 pro ssd. CF 7950 @ 1ghz core, 1380 memory. ( Struggling with heat, lol) Corsair HX1050. Shitloads of fans. Now with my specs and amount of ram, it shouldn't be a problem. and my windows 10 install is just 4 months old, and i'm not running many programs in the background either. The only thing i can think of,is primocache which is using 6gb of my ram for caching, although i should still have 18gb left >_< Any ideas folks? i'm about to throw my pc out of the window x)

Ok i am asking for last time because i have to puruchase my parts this days. Is 5820k waste for gaming ? ( I will do some multitasking and noob editing and streaming ) I dont want to go skylake because same price like 5820k. If i choose to go with 4790k i can maximum get it for 300euro less i guess, is 300 euro worth saving ? ( I am not sure for 300 either maybe 150/200 ) I am not like the people who upgrade every year or something, so when i buy something i want to be ok 4years atlest.

Hello everyone! I finally got around to posting this, but my HD 6950 Directcu ii died a couple months ago and got replaced by an HD 7970 Directcu ii. (Wanted to run 5 monitors before I found 3 matching dead-but-repairable ones in my dad's work's storage) What to do with the old one? Having Asus repair it is a no go, because the MO-RON who owned it previously took of the serial number, (looked like an air compressor knocked it off without him noticing) and the store I bought it from got shut down. I have a pretty extensive knowledge on electronics, and I am 95% certain what the problem is. The onboard voltage regulators. If I keep pressing the CMOS CLEAR button on my motherboard, after about 30 tries, I hear a high pitch squeal coming from the graphics card, and after about 10 iterations of squealing, I can get video. I got a GPU-z screenshot of the graphics card showing the wrong specs. After many more reboots I got it to properly boot and it showed all the proper specs, but as soon as furmark started... furmarking, the card crashes, although with my new card in simultaneously, the computer still functioned on the new card. (Motherboard had no onboard graphics) I know it isnt my motherboard, power supply, cpu, or ram, because it does the same in my friend's PC. It just started doing this out of nowhere, and it had a past history of always refusing to overvolt or reflash bios no matter what I tried. Is there anyone who would buy this card knowing its history/functionality? Right now, I am using it as a desk ornament just like Linus does.

Personally I put together my first rig with the total intention of adding a ton of crap later down the road. I bought a huge roomy case-$$$-and barely filled it with the minimum. (Oh and I went with the n00b move and made it look like a green freakin space tank from outer space. Yep...$$$-Now Fractal Design is looking pretty sweet) I bought a fancy 990fx mobo for overclocking and SLI-$$$-I am still using my fx6300 with a stock cooler and 1 GPU I bought my GTX 760 with 4GBs of memory for higher resolutions-$$$-still using 1080p, turns out (good)1440p is expensive as balls Worst of all I'm now thinking of trashing 90% of my build just to make a small Intel Mini ITX system. My drives and GPU would be the only thing spared. Anyone else do this before? Please share any fun, albeit shameful, stories of purchase histories or mess ups.

Alright guys, I'm building a dream PC and I was looking at a few different GPU and CPU solutions. My CPU's that I'm considering: 4930K, or going all-in and buying a 4960X (don't know if they're actually worth the money). I'm not super up-to-date on the CPU market , it seems to be in a bit of a flux with Haswell and all the other -wells Intel is working on My GPU's that I'm considering: two R9 290x's, two 780ti's, one R9 295x2 (pushing it a bit, I'd prefer not to go with this one), or a single Titan Black. As you can tell, my budget is right around $1200 for the GPU (though it's a bit flexible). I primarily play Dota 2, Minecraft, CS:GO, Planetside 2, and whatever else I pick up on Steam, and am going to be using it to run programs such as Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, Maya, 3DSMax, and a few others. I'm majoring in Motorsports Engineering, so there will be a lot of simulation programs and such added to the list. So, thanks for reading, and let me know what you guys think. I want the CPU and GPU to be somewhat in balance, to avoid bottlenecks. PS: I know having such a powerful PC is unnecessary, so I'm open to other suggestions. I just want something that will run anything and everything I will throw at it for at least (hopefully) the next 5 years, while I'm in college.
