Hi, I've been looking for a user-friendly video editor. I cannot find a video editor that is easy to use, nor good tutorials on how to use them. The ones I've tried are as follows: Adobe Premier Cyberlink Powerdirector Final Cut Pro X Blender Shotcut Lightworks DaVinci Resolve I have spent over 500 dollars on editing software (which was a dumb idea, to be honest) and I am not willing to spend any more. Every time I hear of a different editor people say it's "intuitive" and "for beginners" but I just can't seem to figure them out. they seem overwhelming, and I can't even add moving text to my videos. If anyone can point me in the direction of a simple editor or good tutorial for the software I have it would be very much appreciated.

Hi! 12gb rtx 3060 or 8gb 3060ti - which one should I buy for video editing work? I will be using adobe premiere pro, after effects and davinci resolve. Which card will serve me for long time? I'm planning to use it for 4 years at least. How about RX 6700xt? Would that be a good option as well? Both rtx cards are available in my country and within my budget. The Amd card is a bit expensive.

Greetings community, I have come up against this issue for a while and I believe I have found a solution, however, I am not 100% sure of that. I have done photography for a while and worked with computer files for a long time. I personally always try to save a project file and/or render out/save the finished file with the intention of just rewriting over that file with the updated file with the same file name; thus just basically updating the file. A couple of months ago, BlackMagic released a version of DaVinci Resolve 16 that suddenly made it so (seemingly) things would not render at random (this is still happening with all versions leading up to and including DaVinci Resolve 17). As soon as I clicked render, the estimated time would continue to rise until it finally got to multiple days worth of estimated rendering time left. Even worse, when you tried to stop the render, the program would completely lock up, to the point of closing it out through task manager. This has happened to me on multiple different installs and computers. I believe the problem is that you can not have ANY file with the same name on your computer or you will have this error. DaVinci Resolve will not replace files for some reason it seems. Please comment though if you think it is something else as it has been very perplexing in recent months.

So, I got this free video editor on my PC, and I think it deserves a review. Let’s begin! THE PROS Many pros. 1, it’s free. 2, it has no ads and there is no “premium” version for more features, so you get free range of all of the features available. 3, there is no watermark, so that is great for me because I edit small videos for my friends channel. 4, it is very lightweight and it feels and looks like a very very very very very scaled down Premiere Pro. And 5, it is great at cutting down clips for editing. But, there are always cons. THE CONS The cons are that since it’s free, it feels sketchy, but it has decent reviews, but reviews that tell the whole story. I kind of found this on a limb, because I was looking for editors to snip videos, and this was at the top. There aren’t many options for editing, but that’s probably why there isn’t a “premium” version. CONCLUSION It is good because I don’t have money to spend on a video editor. It gets the job done though. MiniTool Moviemaker Review: 8/10. It gets the job done pretty well. UI of the video editor:

HELLO! I have a Documentary that is in MP4 and is 55 minutes long. I hit the remote control button to skip backward to the previous chapter but since it's all ONE chapter it simply started back from the beginning. How can I use a video editor so that it has around 15 chapters? And which video editor would be free and best to edit this problem? I'm using SHOTCUT and it seem to be made for wizzards not complete Newbies like me. Did this make any sense? If not please tell me what to do and the best free video editor to use? Thanks for trying to help and reading this.

All, I’ve recently built this computer for video editing Sony A7Siii footage and it’s really slow in premiere pro. Ryzen 3900X Nvidia 1660 super 2 x 16GB 3200Mhz Crucial Ballistix TUF gaming X570 Plus WiFi 1TB Sabrent Rocket Nvme Others seem to be editing A7Siii footage with less powerful CPUs very smoothly. For me whoever the timeline is very stuttery, I can’t scrub through thefootage quickly but it does export really quickly. MyPremiere pro setting are not the issue either aseverything is set to take full advantage of the hardware available. Do you think it’s the build or is it just thefootage, even though other says they can handle it fine with seemingly lesser systems. Graphics card onlyseems to be under any load when exports not while in the timeline. Thoughts please?!?!

Hello! I am building a workstation for Video Editing in Premiere and Compositing/Color in After Effects and Resolve. I work a lot with Red and Arri footage: from 720p, to a lot of 4k, 5k and sometime even 8k (thank god for proxy workflows). *Thunderbolt is a must so unfortunately AMD is out of the picture So... The only Mobos I was able to find with official support for thunderbolt 3 are from Gigabyte. The GA-X99P-SLI and the three Z170X-Gaming Mobos. So Z170 Chipset vs X99. Both have the features I need however I am leaning towards the X99 due to having more PCI lanes, and more RAM lanes. After a lot of research I realized none of the Asus Mobos support Thunderbolt 3, and the PCI card they provide is not reliable at best, unusable at worst (its only Thunderbolt 2 as well). My budget is 1000 dollars but this does NOT include GPU and HDDs which I already own. A 980ti and two 1TB Samsung Evo 850 SSD's and plenty of HDD's. Here's what I put together so far, let me know what you think! I especially need help with picking RAM as its the area I know least about. Thank you! Link: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/33hZm8 1. Budget & Location 1,000.00 USD (not including GPU and HDDs) California, USA. 2. Aim Video Editor, Colorist, Compositor. 4k and even 8k video (Red+Arri). Thunderbolt 3 is a must. Software includes: Avid, Premiere, After Effects, Resolve, Photoshop, Cinema 4D, Pro Tools and Autodesk Smoke. 3. Monitors Own a 10bit monitor, eventually would like to add a reference monitor. 4. Peripherals No peripherals, 5. Why are you upgrading? Current workstation is an aging Mac Pro 5,1 great for a lot of work even in Bootcamp. However I need a new system as backup, and thunderbolt support. Mac Pro would continue to be used as a rendering/transcoding beastie.

I am experiencing some issues with Resolve 16 and was wondering if anyone else had encountered them and/or had any solutions. Issue 1 In the timeline, a piece of footage plays fine. It looks and sounds normal. However, once the video is exported, the audio of that clip is oddly distorted, and grey patches appear in the video. Issue 2 If I play a piece of footage outside Resolve it sounds fine. However, after importing it into the timeline, it sounds completely distorted. I tried separating the audio using a different program and using that audio instead, which seemed to solve it. However, once I exported it, issue 1 occurred again. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks

Hey Peeps! So I edit event videos like weddings. My computer is 6 years old still works great, but its starting to slow me down, for example trans coding, rendering, and exporting, some videos can be up to 4 hours long. At this time we record at 1080p at 60 fps and export at 1080p at 30 sometimes 60fps. We have 4k cameras, and are wanting in the future to record in 4k then export at 1080p, since most clients haven't fully adopted 4k yet. (at least ours). But eventually we want to shoot and deliver in 4k. So I need a future proof computer. This is what I'm thinking, https://pcpartpicker.com/list/GFhQw6 Nothing is set in stone, I don't know if ill get the RTX 2080ti, might just get the 1080ti. The RAM, I don't really know much about that but I've heard G.skill is reliable. What you think? Any recommendations? Thoughts? Concerns?

There are talks and even videos in youtube, how ex Adobe premier users switched to DaVinci Resolve video editor. Some said it have better hardware utilization, that's mean, it can use more Cpu Threads and also more stable GPU acceleratior, which shorten video rendering. So it would be interesting if Linus team would check it out.. Is that's realy the case.. Cuz I also have seen videos where advanced Adobe Premier assured that high Thread Count will not speed up rendering on adobe. And it's not much worth to upgrade your Cpu to higher Core/Thread Count..

Hello I need an upgrade, I want to upgrade stuff over time so if you can tell me new parts I can add to my system now before I change the whole system that would be great. My budget is in between $1000-$2000. All I care about is performance looks not so much. Right now I have: Cooler Master Elite 350 Case MSI ms-7641 motherboard AMD Phantom II x4 950 3.40Ghz (Stock cooler) GTX Nvidia 640 16gb Vengeance memory (I have 2x4gb sticks unused) 3 HDD's 3TB drive (dying), 1TB (runs okay), 120gb (extra stoage) So first things first. I need to be able to playback 4k clips with no problems. I also need to edit multiple cameras at once in my editing software Premiere. I need a good work SSD for my boot and working clips and another good mass storage HDD. I also need a new Motherboard (possibly quad channel), CPU, case, GPU, Blu-ray burner (optional), and something to cool the whole thing. I'd like to start upgrading stuff now so I can get some sort of performance boost, I was thinking with starting off with a new SSD then Graphics Card, please let me know what I should do. Thank you all!

Hello everyone I am a professional video editor who works with multiple HD sources of footage at once and 4k footage on top of that. I'm looking for an upgrade to my current rig a huge upgrade. I do a lot of rendering and need something reliable for Preimere Pro, I'm also an audio engineer and need something good for Pro Tools. My current build consist of amd phenom ii X4 965 3.40GHZ - crappy stock cooler 16gb corsair vengeance ddr3 ram (I also have 2 x 4gb of corsair ram laying around) A not so great MSI motherboard (need to upgrade) NVIDIA GTX 680 1gb 3tb (dying) HHD, 1tb HDD working drive, 120gb HDD. Cooler Master Elite 430 mid tower I'd like suggestions on what I should upgrade first, but I'd like to basically build a whole new computer with a lot of drive cases and enough horsepower to run a dual monitor 4k setup and try to spend under $1000. I also need it to run quickly for audio purposes so water cooling is proffered. I need a big update on performance quickly. Any suggestions?

Hello fellows! I am looking for a cheap (under 100 euros) video editor for editing gaming clips mainly. So I don't need any useless effects what many of those cheap editors offers. Sony Vegas would be perfect but it is really expensive and I won't crack it. I want to buy an editor legally. With Vegas you can do RGP split's other cool effects for gaming montages. Or do you have any free ones to prefer? Thanks.
