Hey, I'm looking to build a budget gaming PC - around £550 excluding monitor, mouse, keyboard and headset, however I will need an OS. The main purpose is gaming, but I would like to be able to do some light multi-tasking. I live in the UK so bear in mind that parts are more expensive over here and there isn't as much choice... If you could recommend a build that would be great.

Hi, I am making my first gaming pc for christmas but i didn't know what a parts to use. Here is what I have come up with. Intel Pentium G3258 Sapphire R9 270X 4GB WD 1TB 3.5 inch Corsair Builder Series CX 430 Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 Vengeance 8GB Antec VSK-4000E I was hoping that you could possibly suggest a good motherboard under £50 if possible, it needs USB 3.0, SATA 3 and to support the 1150 socket for Intel chips. Also the main aim is to 'crush' games at 1080p at as close to 60fps if possible. Any advice on other parts would also be great. P.S. I am on a budget of £400 thanks!

Hello, I have been looking around on the internet for some good headsets for under £100. I have found Razer Kraken 7.1 surround usb gaming headset but is this good? It has around 320 customer reviews with 4 stars on amazon. Hey guys I am a new member to the forums and I am planning to build a PC I have looked around and come up basically blank so would appreciate some help from you guys as I reckon you all have far more experience than I do. Without further ado here is all the stuff (I think) you'll need Budget: my budget is £200 - £300 Where do you live (what country): I live in Britain and use the pound -Is there a retailer you prefer: No Do you need or already have peripherals? Yes (mouse, keyboard, monitor) What will you be using your future computer for? I would be using my PC to animate (2d and 3d), 3D rendering and design, video editing, and of course, gaming. Do you overclock or want to get into overclocking? I have no idea how but if it improves performance, I would be willing to learn Do you plan on going for custom watercooling now, or in the future? Not really OS. Do you need a new one? No, I have Windows 7 and I like it If you Game- What kind of settings do you like or what FPS do you want to play at? Ideally as high as I can but not much below 30FPS What resolution will you be playing at? //or would like to play at. Ideally 1080p but that's ideally, I would be happy to go for 720p What kind of games do you like to play? Whatever looks good (gmod, TF2 and yes, my guilty pleasure, Minecraft) What specific game will you be playing? probably any of the above If you Render or Edit things- What application do you use to render? Autodesk Inventor and Maya Do you render movies or just photoshop pictures? just photoshop but would like to get into rendering films Other Notes: This is going to be my first build but I am a quick learner and it looks simple enough Thanks for the help, much appreciated, Xvantok

Hey Guys, The Linus Tech team and his community have inspired me to build! (Some will be pleased to hear am finally moving away from my iMac..) Budget: £500-£600 for the PC Location: UK Aim: Casual gaming, wanting to play current and recent releases at 1080p with good enough quality to be able to enjoy, ultra settings not required as I've never yet been spoled in the graphics department! Monitors: Initially one possibly up to two 1080p monitors, max. would be 27" (though I would LOVE the 21:9 34" LG Linus uses...) Peripherals: Will use my current for now and upgrade as birthday / xmas presents Why: Cos my iMac is now so slow I waste far too much time waiting it for load with time being very precious as it takes a lot of negotiating with the better half!! My build I've come up with is: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/BWNFYJ CPU: Intel Pentium G3258 3.2GHz Dual-Core Processor (£47.98 @ Amazon UK) CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler (£24.85 @ Amazon UK) Motherboard: Asus H81M-E Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard (£38.55 @ Amazon UK) Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory (£65.05 @ Amazon UK) Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 500GB 2.5" Solid State Drive (£172.61 @ Scan.co.uk) Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB FTW ACX Video Card (£120.90 @ Scan.co.uk) Case: Fractal Design FD-CA-CORE-3300-BL ATX Mid Tower Case (£49.95 @ Amazon UK) Power Supply: Corsair CSM 450W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply (£53.34 @ Scan.co.uk) Total: £573.23 I obviously intent to overclock the G3258. Your thoughts would be much appreciated as well as: What OS would you guys go for? (I'm on windows 7, will 8 run games better? - and worth the extra annoyances that come with Windows 8?) Will the BIOS on the motherboard be correct to be able to at least post or even overclock? Any comments as well as tips for building if you've used these before just shoot. Thanks and have a good one, Matt

Hey, I have about £60 to spend on a new headset, possible a DAC if its within the budget. I'd like it to be a headset to have a mic because I regularly use skype, or if anyone have any other suitable suggestions, I'd be happy to hear them.

Linus' most recent review sparked this thought process for me, and I noticed nobody else [at least recently] has asked this question. I'm looking for something along the lines of the the Shure H440's, or the Audio-Technica M50's. So over-ear headphones. Preferably Open-Back, just for the superior sound-stage my current headset is open-back and I've had no complaints about thus far]. I won't be averse to Closed-Back though I notice the H440's on Massdrop for <$90, but I'm only starting research now, and won't have the money for a while. Once I get the money, and I see something at this quality or better on Massdrop, I will probably get it [i bought an AKG P120 USB from Massdrop not long ago - hence why I'm looking for a pair of just headphones to pair with the Mic]. I listen to a wide variety of music, but mainly Rock. As an example, on my way home from work last night, I listened to Deftones, Justice, Breaking Benjamin and John Butler Trio in my primary playlist on shuffle. I also game quite a bit, mainly Dota 2 and BF4, but I'm not tied down to them specifically [just finished Black Flag again actually]. Essentially, I need a pair of cans that are able to handle anything I throw at them, preferably with a flat frequency response. I've a headset for the time being though, that I'm reasonably happy with, so I'm in no rush. Also, I live in Ireland, so something that's available on Amazon UK [and available on Amazon Prime - not everything is available to Ireland from the UK site, but if it's fulfilled by Amazon, it's nearly a sure bet!]. I might be persuaded go a bit over the budget, provided they're worth it. I know this is a fairly subjective subject, as everyone's ears a different, and everyone wants a different experience, but I'd still like your opinions. Thanks!

Hey guys! So, my friend's on the market for a new gaming PC and has asked me for help. He's only got £450 for a budget and I was hoping you nice folk could help me put together a part list for him. I've had some great experiences with this community before, and hopefully you guys can make sure we get the best bang for the buck! I know one of the main questions people will ask, will most likely be "What's it going to be used for?". Unfortunately, my friend's been a little vague in this regard and so I don't have a whole lot to say. With that said, from the little that he has said, it would seem this machine's main intention would be gaming. As for the games that'll be played, it should vary quite a lot in intensiveness from TF2, CS GO and GMOD to Borderlands 2, BF3 and BO2. Thanks in advance for all the help.

Hello, I am pretty new here. (Apologies if this post is in the wrong place or the like) I am wanting to build a PC that is capable of playing games on the highest graphics (high as i can get). Another thing I want my PC is for things like aftereffects, Unreal engine 4.ect .However I don't want to sacrifice too much on the gaming side of the build. I haven't been in the building PC loop for quite a few years now so I am rather behind, so any help would be appreciated. I am not including monitors, keyboards or mouses into the price. I am aiming for a £1500 mark though I am will to go up to £1700 if the parts makes a huge difference in performance. This PC is going to have to last me quite a few years. This is what I have so far: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/3sqjM Feel free to change parts and also add new parts that you would suggest. Thank you for your time.

Hi, I am looking for a mechanical keyboard to replace my current Roccat Isku, would this be a worthwhile upgrade? I would like Blue switches with a full blue backlight, I have seen the CM Storm Quickfire TK and the Ducky Shine Zero, are there any others for around this price point. Also according to the manual of the Ducky Keyboard it has independent lighting for different zones although I haven't seen anyone mention this in reviews. http://www.duckychannel.com.tw/en/ZERO_DK2108S.html Thanks
