Hi everyone, I recently upgraded my GPU from a 1050ti to an RX 6600, expecting better performance. However, things have gone south. I've got the latest drivers for the RX 6600, but the performance is worse. Now, I'm wondering if it's my i5-8400 processor or my 550W power supply causing the problem. Since the GPU swap, my CPU cooler is working hard, and CPU usage is always at 100%.My games take much longer to load into game. Can anyone help figure out if my processor or power supply is the issue? Or is it something else causing the lunderperforming? Thanks a bunch for any advice!

Alright so I recently moved on from consoles to make my first pc and here’s the build: MSI VGA RTX3080 VENTUS 2x8 3200 MHZ 850 WATT GOLD RYZEN 3800x 8 core 16 thread MB GIG X570 UD with this build I was under the impression that I would get a good performance (160 fps+ or so) but NO MATTER what settings I run the fps stays between 40-80 never more, on games such as Cyberpunk, State of decay 2, Warzone, Minecraft. My temps never go up beyond the 70s task manager says the cpu is at about 50% and gpu at around 70-90% with cyberpunk for example, but any of the following: ultra settings, medium with rtx, low, medium. i keep getting around the same fps, it doesn’t drop with upping the settings, or rise when I lower them. I ran some benchmarks and they all give me too tier performance but the games don’t match up to that. I checked my drivers they’re all up to date and did the (optimize) option from GeForce experience and all is still the same. I’m running out of ideas please help.

This is my first post so please excuse any informalities, I have a i5-7500 that is underperforming while playing Call of Duty - Cold War. Specs: i5-7500 GTX 1070 8GB 16GB DDR4 2133 MHZ (2x8 kit) I find massive lag spikes, the game running at 30 fps or lower, and my CPU pinned at 100% at all times. When I first played the game I was running at 70-80 fps smooth on medium-high settings, I am not sure what happened to cause this but a week later of playing my FPS dropped and I experienced all these issues. I dont have any other programs running in the background except discord, however, I tested it and it runs the same without it. I reinstalled the game and drivers but still no luck. Setting my CPU affinity to high essentially brings the game back to how it was running before but it lags my discord heavily and I was hoping there was another solution. Any suggestions are welcome, thank you!

I recently received my new 3080 after many months of waiting in queue but unfortunately am experiencing some pretty poor frame rates in Warzone. In fact, my old 5700XT paired with my 3700X was getting around 120-130fps at 1440p, but with my 3080 I'm getting 120fps max, usually around 110fps. I have noticed that GPU utilisation sits at around 75% in-game, but some areas such as when you enter the gulag it ramps up to 100% and I see frame rates temporarily boost to around 160fps, which is what I'd expect from a 3080. My CPU hangs at around 60% utilisation as well, there's seemingly no issues when I observe the logical cores. Things I've tried with no luck: Editing the adv_options file for the game, which many tutorials suggest Wiping and reinstalling GPU drivers Double checking RAM is dual channel and running adequately (this is 3600MHz) Reinstalling the game entirely Tested other games, they run fine Fiddling with all in-game settings, there's no difference in frame rate between low or max with RTX on Setting PC power mode to high performance Anyone else having these issues? I raised a ticket with Nvidia but they've been absolutely useless and just tell me to change meaningless settings in Nvidia control panel. I posted on an Nvidia forum and several people replied to say I have a CPU bottleneck, but I'm stumped as to how an 8 core CPU can't handle this game? I know it's not the latest gen CPU but surely a 3700X is still capable? Not really sure what else I can do, or whether it's just an issue with the game I have no control over.

I got Forza Horizon 5 which is a great game but when I played it in some areas of the map I got 30fps on low settings and my GPU (GTX 1050ti) was at 99% usage. Other people in YouTube videos testing the card were getting between 50 and 60 fps. I got my PC in October 2021 and my old pc ran exactly the same card at normal performance. I have tested games I used to play on my old pc and they play worse on my new one. I have a: MSI B460 Pro-VDH Mobo Samsung 1TB 870 QVO SSD 20gb 2666mhz Crucial RAM (4+4+4+8gb) Asus Phoenix GTX 1050ti (Non-OC) Intel Core i5 10400f Corsair CV450 PSU

Hi so when playing games like Gta 5, Minecraft w/ shaders and warzone I avg 50-70 fps, I Understand my system is underperforming and I've done most of the recommended things people say to do. I disabled v sync in game and in Nvidia control panel. my power mode is ultimate performance. My ram has xmp enabled. I only have discord open when playing games. I reset my pc often. I have over 100gb free storage. background apps are minimal same with start up. I have the newest Windows and Gpu driver along with my motherboard newest bios. I've tried a different motherboard and a different power supply. I have deleted and reinstalled games, even factory reset my pc. my temps are between 40-50c doing nothing and 65-70c when gaming. This is the 4th pc ive built and my second time working with a 2070 super, Id say this pc barley half the performance as what I previously experienced. I use nzxt cam to check my Gpu, Cpu and ram usage while gaming and my Gpu max goes 60% and CPU no more that 55% along with ram no more than 60% unless were talking about warzone.. Other than that Ive watched countless videos and read a fair amount of threads finding people with similar problems but no solution has worked for me. Maybe people of the LTT community can help me! Thank you. I recently built my new PC, with a 3060 Ti, but something is a bit off. I am barely getting 100 fps on games like Fortnite (on not so high settings) and 70 fps on GTA V (with highest settings, no MSAA) and my friend, who has a 2070 SUPER is outperforming me. I checked if I have a CPU bottleneck, but that's not the case. My OS is Windows 11 and I have the latest drivers installed. Is there any problem with my hardware or software at all, and if yes, then what is it and how can I fix it?

I just built a fresh new pc and decided to go for a juicy 2070 super paired with a 1440p monitor. However, i noticed that the fps i was getting in my games want quite matching up to the reviews/benchmarks i watched before buying the card (for instance, the Witcher 3 runs at 85-90 fps while the benchmarks with the same settings runs atleast 15 fps faster). so i decided to test my GPU and see what scores come up. Userbenchmark basically tells me that my GPU is performing well below the average (see picture below). TimeSpy gave me a graphic result of around 9730 while Heaven gave me a whopping 2034 score extreme settings in fullscreen. What do you think? Are these results considered normal for a 2070 super (dunno if it matter but all testes were made on my 1440p monitor) ? If not, any idea why and how i might fix it? Is it possible i simply got a shitty card from the factory? Any opinion is appreciated

Since I've got my new Asus Strix OC RTX 2070 I was getting less fps/performance than other people on youtube, benchmarking sites and I even compared it to my friends rig that has same amount of RAM, an ASUS Dual RTX 2070, and a slightly different processor that should be weaker that mine(i7-8700k-Mine, 9400F-his). My friend and I ran a demo of 3DBenchmark(Time Spy) and compared our results. His GPU score is better by 2000 points, and that isn't a small difference. I've tried reinstalling my OS multiple times, reinstalling drivers, reinstalling the GPU, and I even changed my MOBO for unrelated reasons. I wasn't so worried about my FPS so much back then but now I'm lacking 30-40 FPS in some games and it's really frustrating. If additional information is needed, I'll provide, thanks in advance.

I recently upgraded to a gtx 1660 super dual fan from Zotac. However i noticed it was severely underperforming, then i opened the nvidia performance tab and it showed a base core speed of 645 mhz with no options to change it According to my research it should have a base speed around 1600. Any tips?

I built my pc a while back and have always had performance in games that was not matching the performance I have seen others having with a similar setup as mine. I have been trying to correct the low performance with my setup for a while and haven't gotten anywhere. I have reset my BIOS and updated it, uninstalled my GPU drivers and reinstalled them, Overclocked my GPU, and contacted EVGA to see if they could correct my problem, but nothing seems to work. If you know what might be the problem with my computer please help. I built a new PC (my first) but is it underperforming. Hardware consists of: Ryzen 5 2600 XFX RX580 GTS Black Core T-Force Delta 2x8 3000MHz B450 Tomahawk ADATA SU800 SeaSonic M12II 620W I noticed that I was getting low fps for what it is. In CSGO I'd get 120 max in the menu and 50-150 ingame (usually 50-100). I was getting mediocre FPS in L4D2 as well. I installed the ryzen utility and observed the CPU while CSGO was running. The speed spiked to 2.8GHz randomly a couple times but other than that never exceeded 1.55GHz. So I guess the motherboard is under-utilizing the processor? Some forums online said that rolling back the bios fixed this issue, but I don't want to try that yet. I don't want to update the bios yet either. I'm not really familiar with all of this bios heebeejeebee and I don't want to fuck up my new PC. Any suggestions on what to do??

I built a new PC but it’s underperforming; FPS in games is mediocre. The ryzen utility said that the speed of the ryzen 5 2600 never went above 1.55GHz (besides a couple of random spikes to 2.8). So I’m guessing the motherboard is underutilizing the CPU. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

(PC Specs Below) A couple days ago I purchased a Asus ROG Strix RTX 2080 Ti 11GB in order to have better game performance. I upgraded from an EVGA GTX 1060 3GB. However, after I installed the new GPU, I found my games to be running at speeds that were slower than I expected. There was a small improvement compared to when the 1060 was installed, but it was not nearly what a Ryzen 7 + 2080 Ti combo should run at. I tried overclocking both my CPU and GPU, only to receive a boost of only about 5 FPS max in multiple games. I have tried running a few games set at the highest settings, then comparing performance to the same game run on lowest settings, and there was again only about a 5-7 FPS difference (Avg. frames in GTA V - 70FPS on lowest settings, 60 on maxed settings; Escape From Tarkov - 75 fps on lowest, 65 on maxed. Frames often drop below 60 in both games). I'm not 100% sure what's wrong or what would be causing this to happen. The only hint I have is that when I purchased my RAM, it came preset at a clock speed of 2133 MHz. When I tried to overclock/change the frequency to the advertised speed of the RAM, my PC would not boot, and I could only get into the BIOS. I am only able to get my PC to boot when overclocking my RAM to 2400 MHz or under. I'm pretty new to overclocking, I've only watched a video or two on CPU overclocking. The video I watched also briefly described how to overclock RAM along with CPU, so I'm not sure if I'm just doing something wrong. I might not be giving my RAM enough power when clocking it to 3000 MHz, I'm not sure. I need to do more research on that. However, I'm not even sure if the RAM is the reason my PC is underperforming. My friend with an i9 9900k and a GTX 1070 was able to get better performance in Escape From Tarkov (a difficult-to-run game) than me, despite having a CPU with pretty similar specs and a worse GPU. So I don't really understand what's happening. Anyone have any ideas what could be wrong? Any suggestions are welcome. TL;DR: Bought a 2080 Ti, have a very decent CPU, 32GB of RAM, yet games are not performing as well as they should. :/ Specs: CPU - AMD Ryzen 7 2700x overclocked to 4.1 MHz (cooled with Noctua NH-D15 Single Fan) GPU - Asus ROG Strix Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti 11GB Vram (overclocked +191 MHz) RAM - TridentZ DDR4 3000MHz 32GB (4 x 8GB) (each pair of 8GB sticks purchased at different times) Motherboard - Asus ROG Strix B350-F GAMING PSU - Corsair RMx Series RM750X 750W

I'm not sure if my laptop is throttling because of temperatures (on heavy games such as Doom Eternal, Minecraft, and DMC5, temps go up to 81ºC), or what else am I supposed to do. Some games throttle even on lowest graphic settings, and I'm SURE this computer used to handle those same games without much trouble.

Hello, i am here to ask for help once again. This is probably the last shot, i'm giving at this since i have wrote 9 threads all across the internet. I received some feedback, but I haven't met the fix yet. Enough with the introduction let's get to the deal. I have bought myself a computer from scratch. I bought every piece by myself, i put it all together myself. When i got my computer all put up and ready, i installed myself Windows 8.1. Everything is fast, looks fine, no problems. Until I try to play games. In CS:GO 1280x1024 resolution, everything on medium. I get 150-200 FPS max. Which is not enough in my eyes. In H1Z1 ultra or high or even medium. I have same FPS on all the different graphic modes. The FPS goes from 45-70 and that's the most it's going. When i get into a firefight it drops below 40 which makes it impossible to play, since i die in every firefight almost. In GTA V ultra, i have 70-80 FPS, but when i crash my car or make some explosions it drops below 40 aswell. So in conclusion i have a good gaming PC which is brand new, but its not giving me the full potential it should be. I should be running these games with ease. I don't know i'm getting kinda desperate and running out of hope. I got messages telling me to reinstall Windows, and I did. I bought myself an SSD, and i reinstalled my whole windows, and activated it. I still have the same problem, so i know its hardware one. I would like to know which part of my computer is causing the lag problems. I am willing to pay a skin in csgo, thats worth around 60 in steam market, i can also cash it out for paypal cash in opskin, and then make you a paypal transaction, but there will be a fee, and u wont get the full 60 euros that its worth. This is just for motivational purpouses. Feel free to ask me anything, ill try to awnser fast, such as stress tests, and temepratures and so on.
