Hi I recently bought a tp-link ax3000 archer t55e wifi bluetooth adapter for my build since my motherboard doesn't have built in Wi-Fi and ethernet is not an option. I have been using another cheap Wi-Fi adapter by tp-link and, although its low speed, been working just fine. The thing is I installed the card and it wasn't detected by windows. I assumed it was just a driver related issue so I just installed the recommended drivers. Boot up, still no detection, restart, still nothing. I opened the mobo bios and for my surprise, the card wasnt even recognized by it. From then I tried absolutely everything I could think off, changing Pcie port (mobo has 2 x1 ports and 1 pciex16), resetting BIOS, updating BIOS, reinstalling drivers, changing random BIOS config options and nothing seems to work, except from a couple attempts (like 5 out of 100 maybe) when rebooting the system and without any visible pattern, the card gets recognized and works flawlessly, both wifi and bluetooth. I also took the card back to the store to test it and it worked fine with their stuff there, so yeah, Im completely clueless on what could be causing this. specs btw: MOBO: Gigabyte A520M DS3H GPU: 3060ti fe CPU: Ryzen 5600X RAM: 2x8 Kingston HyperX Fury 3200 PSU: and old CoolerMaster Silent Pro M 850W I also have an M.2 drive installed and several hdd/sdd, I tried disconnecting all of the mentioned before and still nothing. Thanks for the help! UPDATE: I actually managed to find a way to get it to work on a (sort of) consistent way. It's not practical at all tho: I first boot up the PC, then check if the card is recognized. If it's not (most probably), turn off the PC. As soon as the thing goes off, IMMEDIATELY turn it on again with barely a second in between. It will now probably show up fine and work as intended. I would guess then that issue is power related, maybe the motherboard can't give enough energy on a single boot up? Also, I have an 850W PSU so I doubt it couldn't keep up with a single wireless adapter, I have also tried diconnecting everything else on the board other than cpu, ram, gpu and the card itself and still nothing came out of that. Any ideas on what do? Thank you!

Background/Context: I have an older Corsair Strafe RGB (Silent Cherry Reds) from a few years ago that has problems with duplicating inputs when typing, specifically some of the keys will I do not specifically remember spilling liquid on the keyboard, but it is possible and if I did, was likely years ago. It worked for 1-2 years without issue and then started this behavior. I have since already replaced the keyboard with a working one, just trying to see if there is anything else I can do to prevent it becoming e-waste. Steps already taken: 1.) Tried on multiple different machines, Linux + Windows systems, behavior found on both operating systems *(linux is a home assistant pi-based system) 2.) Pulled all the key caps and cleaned with warm soapy water, let air dry for 2 days and replaced. No difference (none really expected, based on behavior) 3.) Pulled board out of the case and deep cleaned it with isopropyl alcohol - don't have microscope or anything like that but upon examining it didn't find any obvious shorts, corrosion, etc. 4.) Tried deep cleaning the switches (they are soldered into the board and not removable) with isopropyl alcohol into the switches, blowing air into the switches and letting them dry completely. -This seemed to help a bit, but eventually duplicated key strokes have returned. Duplication is not on every keystroke, about every 3-4 keystrokes you will get a repeated letter (ss, rr, gg, ll, etc), behavior goes in-between other letters if I type fast enough (ex. Transfer becomes Transfserr) I do not have any solder equipment so I don't really want to invest into equipment and learning. Can anyone think about any other steps I could do to try and make this keyboard more usable? Am trying to replace my crappy Lenovo keyboard provided by work on a work computer as I type a lot and the basic keyboard is horrible.

As the title says, I can’t get past BIOS. What happened: I saw a YouTube video stating to reduce latency with power settings, the steps: - Download “Windows power plan settings explorer utility” - Uncheck “Processor performance time check interval” - Edit power plan with advanced options - Set the value of “Processor performance time check interval” to “5000” milliseconds - Reset PC After the reset, pc did not want to boot at all. No BIOS and it was stuck on a DRAM red light. After some digging and trying a few things like: - Clearing CMOS with a button on MOBO - Reset CMOS with a taken out battery - Changing positions of RAM/ Using only one stick in all positions - Unplugging all peripherals - Disconnecting all components and leave only CPU and RAM Nothing worked, so I gave up after that, a few hours later I thought I could update the BIOS with Q-Flash, so I did, after updating I got into BIOS! Now there is another issue, the pc is stuck in an infinite bios loop. I will only see the Gigabyte logo with options to access BIOS, boot or Q-Flash. Once BIOS is accessed it will always say that it has been reset. The time and date are wrong by 23 years, each time I change a setting it will not save; only date and time has saved. the NVMe with windows is shown in BIOS same as all other components. Components: Gigabyte x670 Gaming X AX Ryzen 9 7950x RTX 4090 G-Skill DDR5 32GB 6000MHz Corsair 850W Samsung 970 Pro 1TB (No overclocking has been ever done) Played with this setup for the past 3 months and had no issues. Any help is appreciated! Any questions asked I will answer. Also sorry English is not my first language.

Lately my pc has been stuttering and lagging a bunch, it happens every now and then out of nowhere when nothing demanding is going on, i have also noticed that my cpu usage spikes to 70-100% from nothing. usually ''system'' or ''opera gx'' are the ones that spike in usage. idle usage from the cpu is usually around 5-15%. its especially bad when i try downloading something from steam, or a gif or anything alike is loading on discord. when downloading things, or something is loading the computer is unusable because of the stuttering. cpu temps are fine I have tried updating a few drivers, turning my computer off and on multiple different times, doing an anti virus scan, and a few more things, but no matter what i do nothing has worked. Ram usage is a little to high as well, but i haven't noticed any spikes in ram usage or anything correlating to ram (ram is typically using 8-10gb/16gb when idle). the ram is quite new as well, but i have been having these problems since before changing it my specs are: Intel i7-8700. Msi RTX 2060. 16 GB Corsair vengance pro 3600MHz. Asus rog b360-F. and boot drive is a Kingston A2000 1TB m.2 ssd (i have a 5TB hdd as well just for random storage) Thank you all in advance for any suggestions, and feel free to ask me any questions

Yesterday, I booted my pc, after a while of browsing, it turned off suddenly and I immediately turned it on again. The lights were on, the fans were spinning everything seemed to be in order however, after a second of starting up it died and it happened every single time I tried. I started to troubleshoot my pc first in order for me to try and deduce as to which hardware might be at fault, I cleaned the pins for both my gpu and RAMS, unplug and plug the psu cables ensuring them that they are connected, reset CMOS. After doing all these, my pc was able to boot to desktop, however, it died again, and the cycle begin where I am not able to boot normally as it kept on dying after turning on for a few seconds. Take note that there are no overheating errors. I hypothesized that this might have something to do with either the RAMS, PSU, or Motherboard. First, I tried removing each ram trying out different slots, and I've noticed that when I use only on RAM, I am able to boot into desktop and won't crash as frequently, however, this is not the case when I use two RAMS at the same time. Also, the RAM must also be seated at a specific slot before it works. I'm really at my wits end here, I need your help in deducing if this has to do with the motherboard itself or the PSU, or something else. (and sorry for the grammar or there might be words/phrases that can be ambiguous, I'm typing so fast in case my desktop dies on me again :<)

Greetings, so i am encountering a problem with the pc i built for my brother in february, the GPU is making a whining noise when under stress, in the video attached the whining noise is pretty distinct also when it is rendering more things on the screen (the problem happens also with other games, in general when the GPU is stressed, at 30/40% usage it doesn't do it). The GPU in question is a RTX 3080 supreme MSI 10gb model, power supply is a Corsair RM850e (i use a similar config but i have the RM850 2021 and never had issues like this) and motherboard a MSI mpg B550 gaming plus. This problem already occured in June, we had a few blackouts and i thought some "dirty electricity" was stuck in the system, powered it completly down, detached from the wall, holded the power botton for 10 seconds, detached the power cables going to the GPU, cleaned it too while at it, putted everything together and went on like nothing. Blackouts are pretty common for me during the summer, and while we had many during July we noticed just now it started doing those noises again. Is the GPU damaged in some possible way? Or could it be something else? Perhaps the fans are doing the noise, sure it is coming from the GPU but i am not 100% sure if it could be the fans on it the cause. I also take the moment to ask if a simple PSU could help in general for the problem. Thanks already for the help! gpu whining.mp4

Hello everyone I have an PC with an I7-6700k and an MSI GTX1080 its about 3 maybe 4 years old and i started encountering issues: Explanation: Recently I've started getting huge lag spikes in games that basicly makes them unplayable. For example lets say im playing Overwatch (it hapens in every other game aswell) the same settings I've always played on since it came out (https://prosettings.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Overwatch-Graphic-Settings.jpg) here is a link to the same settings. So one day im playing without any issues and suddenly my game CRASHES, this is the first time a game ever crashed on this PC which confused me but i sad okay it happens then i restarted the game got back in but the game kept going fom 400fps down to 1fps and back to 200fps and so on and so forth, it was just jumping all arround the place and when i took a look at the task manager i saw that my gpu was running at 99% usage!! And ever since that day im unable to play any game without lagging my GPU immediatly jumps to above 80% usage but temps stay normal. Troubleshooting: - At first I thought maybe its thermals but nope its running fine arrund 65-75 degrees celcius and there is not dust on it or in it - Then i thought it was drivers so I unninstalled drivers from Windows10 device manager reinstalled new ones but it didn't help the same problem persisted - I tried Googling the problem but changing the settings didn't help (https://prnt.sc/zwr21o) here is what i changed - If anyone is wondering no I haven't changed any parts in my pc since i bought it so there could be no bottlenecking - I also installed all windows updates which didn't resolve any issues Conclusion: I have no idea what might be causing these issues with my GPU and I really need help with it, I will be responding underneath the thread providing any additional information you might need and i will be updating the thread with new information. Please help ***************************************************** Me from the future who fixed the issue (it was something wrong with the drivers) - removed the gpu from the pc - removed the CMOS battery and cleared it by holding power button on my case - added back the battery started the pc, display port now plugged in to motherboard - by using display driver unninstaller i unninstalled all the drivers for my gpu and removed all related software - inserted the gpu back in to the pc - turned it on installed NVIDIA drivers and it was all back to normal

i built this computer back in 2019 and its always had 2x8 sticks of ddr4 at 3200mghz. but recently any time a launched steam or at random points it would just shut off and restart and then at one point it began to get stuck in the restart and would only work after i've left the PC off aswell as the power supply for an hour. i then found that this restarting issue was significantly reduced by taking out on of the stick of ram leaving only one 8gb stick in the motherboard thinking the ram was the problem i waited for a sale and picked up a new kit of ram with identical specs but still the problem persists and i can only turn the computer on if it has one stick of ram in the motherboard. when i thought it was a software problem i reinstalled my os and changed between windows and linux currently back on arch linux but have no experience in hardware troubleshooting and have no idea what the problem is.

Hi all. I know I'm boned, just want a gauge as to how hard and what specifically is boning me. Symptoms: Running any type of GPU bench (or even launching something like PSO2) makes the screen go black, but the system keeps going (still hear sounds if a video is playing). Win+ctrl+shift+b doesn't reset (can hear the beep tho). System specs: Windows 10 (Version 10.0.19042 Build 19042) ASUS Maximus VII IMPACT (BIOS Version/Date: American Megatrends Inc. 2401, 2/24/2015, I'm scared sh*tless to update it) Intel i7 4790K (default boost to 4.4GHz but issue still present at stock speeds) 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance RAM (1866MHz XMP profile 1, the logs were collected at stock 1333 for giggles) MSI RX 480 8G ( Software Version: 2020.1113.1501.27036 | Driver Version 20.45.01.18-201113a-361132C-RadeonSoftwareAdrenalin2020) x2 2TB Crucial MX500 Apevia ATX-SP700W (I remember my friend saying they are bronze certified back when buying it, but checking the site there is no longer any trace of that) Commentary/ whining: I attached hwinfo and Radeon logs, though I hardly see anything interesting (minus hwinfo saying the memory is clocked at 656). I did a clean DDU install before getting those logs. Ran a memory test, passed fine, ran intel's cpu test, also passed. My feeling is its either the GPU is bust or the PSU has decided to kick the can. I did some tuning in Radeon software too, lowered clocks, upped fan curve, cranked power limit, no dice. This is a decently aged system, I also had to RMA the 480 (and a 470) cards during the lifespan, albeit for unrelated issues (coil whine, bent rad, etc). This whole saga started maybe 3-4 months ago now, I finally got the time to poke around. I'd like this beast to live till I can get my hands on a full upgrade, just stuck waiting for stock like the rest of you. Cheers amdlog.CSV hwinfolog.CSV

Hey there. My laptop (acer nitro 7, gtx 1660ti, i5 9300h, 8gb) runs valorant at ~ 100 fps and hits ~ 120 fps (max) when I'm looking at the sky / ground. Valorant's spec sheet says that it needs a 1050ti to run 144+ fps in high settings. I have tried the famous 'Disable fullscreen optimizations' tip, to no avail. Lowering the in-game quality does not change the fps. (which makes sense to me as gpu utilization decreases) On a side note, I do not think that it is a problem with my laptop since I've played PUBG on highest settings at 90fps. Another note: I have undervolted my cpu to -0.137mv, to decrease heat.

Hey so I've recently got into a few new games to me and a few of them don't start. I've checked the integrity multiple times and I've reinstalled both games and they still show the same error code (0xc000007b). Now I've been told that its a controller error, its a driver error or its a DirectX error. So i'm assuming that this error is very vague and doesn't tell much , I've installed all Visual-C packages, the newest dotNet libraries and I update my graphics driver. I've tried multiple tutorials, and still no luck. I've heard a few people say to move a file name "xinput_3" from the system32 folder into a sysWOW64 folder, but I really don't want to be messing around in the system32 directory and I'm pretty sure you shouldn't be anyways. Here I've linked system info log (I know it's very long so if you want me to look for something specific, just tell me) SysInfo.txt

I have this issue where random images in a game will get elongated if I view them at a certain angle and turn into these large black poles. I am pretty sure it due to my GPU overclock but I can't pin down the exact cause. Here is an in game example from Chorus My GPU is an MSI Ventus 3x OC 3070 using the MSI Suprim vBIOS OC was stable at +100 / +1100 for benchmarks / stress tests currently doing +94/+1100 since games seemed to crash after about 45 minutes. I would love to be able to test each part of my overclock individually but its hard for me to create this issue consistently enough to do that. Any ideas / opinions welcome. Thanks! Other info / specs (in case its relevant): Full System Ram OC 5600x uses PBO with some offsets on the cores based on results from CoreCycler Things I have done since trying to solve this issue: ran OCCT 3d test for an hour with no errors ran GPUMemTest with no issues

Hi, I made my first rig and I have problems with my ssd's. I want to install windows but for this I need storage but both my ssd's are not being recognized. I have an empty WDb sn850 (which is recognized by the self-Test functionality of the board) but there is no storage device recognized on the storage list (so it can't be used as a boot device for windows) and it is the same thing with my sn550, not recognized as a storage device but recognized in the self test section. I am putting these drives in the M2_1 spot. Please help me with this, I am going crazy ^^' Components: Ryzen 5 5600x Msi B550i gaming edge wifi 16gb ram corsaire vengeance

Hi, so the quick back story... I switched my GTX 1060 6gb with my Friends RX 5500xt 4gb because it got way to loud under noice for him. So now I have the RX 5500xt which should be better in games, even if only by a few fps. I properly installed the GPUs, and did a full uninstall of the drivers before. The Problem now is; The Rx 5500xt 4gb is performing way lower then the GTX 1060 6gb in all Games that I play. And I mean WAY lower. With the 1060 I was able to play Apex for example at FULL HD at Mid-High settings at about 144fps, with the 5500xt I am struggeling to get the 30fps on super low. In other Games I also have this problem but not to this extend. But it is still noticable, about 40fps less at least then the GTX 1060. I tried a new and clean drivers install, the drivers are updatet and I tried stuff in the AMD driver but nothing worked. I looked online but couldn't find a lot about it. Im not using my internal grafics and my Windows is not set on power saving mode. (Yes I have enough cooling) My PC specs: Ryzen 3 3200g @ 3,95 Ghz 3200mhz 16gb dual channel RAM @ 2400Mhz (because some games crash if its on XMP) Aorus Gaming M Matx MB 650w Platinum Seasonic PSU RX 5500xt 4GB Samsung 970 EVO M.2

So, i have a Ryzen build for over 3 months now working flawlessly, yesterday i thought it was a good idea to rearrange my cables (mouse, keyboard) and put a sleeve around them, to keep a bit more clean. Since that my pc is stuck on the Boot process and i can't manage it to POST, no beep, nothing. CPU: Ryzen 3 3100 Mobo: Biostar B350-B45M2 (with the latest BIOS version) RAM: 2x4gb Corsair Value Select/1 Stick of XPG Gammix D10 (borrowed from a friend for testing) GPU: GTX 1660 Super PSU: Corsair CX500 SSD: WD 240gb M2 Sata + San Disk 240gb Sata Already tried: - CMOS clear - Reseat everything, from RAM, to SSD, to all internal cables and such - Tried with a borrowed RAM stick to check if it wasn't my RAM sticks that went south - Removed everything to check if the Mobo Speaker would give the proper sound feedback, but to my surprise it doesn't, no "ram missing" beeps, no "gpu missing" beeps. Every cable was double checked, everything is in it's proper place and i can't seem to find the problem. Today after about 50 tries the PC booted up and i got to BIOS, but since i disconnected the SSDs i couldn't get to Windows so i just loaded up Optimized Settings and proceed to turn off and install the SSDs again. Although, after i installed the SSDs the problem came back and i can't seem to understand what's going on. PS: The build was working normal until yesterday, never had any problem with it and i can't believe that removing my cables from the IO would brick my Motherboard. PS²: Sorry for any typo, English is not my main language and thanks in advance guys!

Hi Everyone, Recently got super lucky to get a 3070, which replaced my 2060. Ever since, during high GPU usage there has been split-second audio crackling along with FPS drops. I have a 850w PSU, MSI Mag Mortar B550, and a 5800x for a cpu. I have updated all drivers and windows. This never happened with my old 2060. Is my 3070 defective? Any help would be appreciated!

So today i bought a Asus gtx 1070 from a seller. I was really happy and tried plugging in it directly. HOWEVER when i tried turning The pc on, it just shut off after few seconds. The gpu and fan was working so its not a problem with The gpu since i tested it at the seller house.. At first i thought it was using to much power. But i checked and saw it was using 500w, same as my other gpu. I got a 650w psu. If anyone got tips that would be great

I upgraded an old lenovo ThinkCentre M81 computer running windows 7 by adding an RX550 to it but while the card is connected is seems like the computer wont boot? When the computer is started whilst the RX550 is connected it will turn on and the gpu's fans will turn but no signal will reach my monitors even if I also connect a different monitor to the mobo and my keyboard and mouse stay unpowered. I have verified that the card works fine by testing it in on a different computer, I also know that the pcie slot, monitors, wires and slots on the gpu work after testing. From what I understand my mobo has a PCI Express x16 1.0 and the RX550 has a PCI Express X16 3.0 and although I have heard that PCIE is supposed to be backward compatible I have also heard of other people having gpu issues due to using different PCIE who had to change their PCIE frequency in their bios. I believe the issue comes from incompatibility between my motherboard and the RX550. What I find odd is that I have built another computer using the same mobo that works jsut fine with a gtx 1050ti so I would have thought the RX550 would have worked just fine. (I also tried running the RX550 on the system running the 1050ti and had the same results) Is there anything I could do to make the card work without having to change my mobo?

Hello. Recently I've replaced my thermal paste. Since then I am experiencing a buzzing sound while playing video games in fullscreen. While playing games windowed or tabbed out the sound is nearly gone even though the pc must be still processing the game. I am pretty sure it isn't the psu, the sound comes either from my graphics card or motherboard/cpu.
