I watched Linus's live build live stream for LG. It inspired me to buy that case and transfer my old system. It's pretty hype, however I ran into a few hickups. My PCI-e Riser is crap and was causing code 62 and b1's on my asus MB. What annoyed me more was that it wasn't cheep back when I bought it a year ago. It's a ThermalFake one. So RIP vertical mount. and secondly My "Smart Device" can't seem to work the RGB strips that it is intended to control. So I have contacted NZXT support about it.

Come on a joint video project including LinusTechTips and Tek Syndicate would be amazing. Linus could Amp the hardware for the Syndicate and they could FIX The media groups servers.... This would be amazing team up. Not to mention the sponsor revenue that this kind of coop could bring in.. (Both of my favorite channels could benefit form this joint venture.) Let me hear the fans out there.... Linus and hit team are hardware masters and The Syndicate has coding and system settings down to a science. these two could make an unbeatable force in the tech community. Who wants to see a coop video? I know I do. Lets make this happen.

Wow. Everything over here on the LTT side is so bright! I am a former Tek Syndicate forum user. While I made an account here on LTT several years ago, I never really used it. Tek Syndicate became my "internet home." in light of recent events, I am distancing myself from Tek Syndicate as a whole, as the primary people that I liked over there have moved on (Wendell & Qain). I am going to try and make LTT my "internet home," for technology discussion. I actually have been watching LTT on YouTube long before I started watching Tek Syndicate, but for whatever reason was always more active on the Tek Syndicate forums. I like how the LTT channel is a bit more "inclusive" of differing viewpoints. While I am sure their are no shortage of "Apple haters," on this forum, Logan on the Tek Syndicate side was so vehemently apposed to that company (and others) that he often was contradictory and hypocritical when other companies made the same mistakes as Apple (he would often give other companies a free pass). Just so you know, I use OS X and Windows primarily, and I dabble with Linux, so I am very inclusive of all technology brands and operating systems. I just love all tech in all of it's different forms. I hope to have a more active role in the community here on LTT, and that LTT remains a little bit more "drama-free" than the experience I had with Tek Syndicate. Despite liking Qain/ Wendell & the community, I found Logan's grandiose behavior to be a little off-putting. Look forward to seeing you guys in the forums.

So, Tek Syndicate is on fire right now. I am reporting this first hand. This started with Wendell blinking SOS in the last episode of The Tek in which he appeared (two weeks ago). Then tonight, Logan made some VERY poor decisions regarding transparency, and where the money from the Tek Syndicate channel is going. This spawned some shit. Logan basically banned a bunch of moderators, after they started calling him out for deleting comments that did not violate community guidelines, but where difficult questions that he did not want to answer, about where the money from Tek Syndicate is going. Exhibit A: Alamar, and Eden, WHERE moderators on the Tek Syndicate forums. Alamar has been banned or "suspended" from the forums, as well as Eden, and all other moderators except for two (whom I will not name) have subsequently been banned or suspended. A former moderator points out that Logan is trying to switch the forum to Read Only mode, which would allow Logan to ban and delete people at will. Also, Logan egging his own community on. Logan egging people on again. Pistol enters the fray. Logan threatens everyone. Pistol was banned from the private Discord chat maintained by members of the Tek Syndicate community after she flatout demanded admin rights on a server she has no affiliation with (the server is not officially affiliated with Tek Syndicate, merely maintained by a section of the Tek Syndicate community.), and then, when someone started sending her lewd comments, instead of reporting it to the admin, she decided to make it public, and tell that person to kill themselves. Pistol claims that she can respond to trolls "however she damn well pleases" which is a great attitude for someone asking for admin powers to have. There is more, a LOT more going on, but nothing that I have screenshots of. Currently trying to get Screenshots off of the Discord of Pistol behaving in said manner. This might not be possible as when an account is banned from Discord, all of their comments are deleted from the live instance of Discord (or so I have been told.) The source? Me, and several other members of the Tek Syndicate community. There is a 4chan thread as well, but I dare not venture there. Several mods have been suspended, and the entire forum is down at the time of this posting. Still, to this day, way too many cards come without a backplate. To be quite honest, it's a disgrace. And at this point, the power is in the hand of the community. Am I the only one who'd appreciate such a tutorial? Cause I can't seem to find a single guide on how to make one yourself.

I bought a pair of Audio Technica ATH M20x's little over a week ago that replaced my old Sennheiser HD-202s. I did look around for the Superlux HD668b's (as recommended by tek syndicate) but they weren't available in my region. After i saw the Samson SR850s on sale and did a little bit of digging, i found they were a re-brand of the aforementioned '668bs. They are currently available for far cheaper than the m20x's, Which ones sound better? (objectively) and is returning/selling my m20x's a good idea?

In the beginning of The Tek 0159 the dark side makes a very humorous mockery of crowd funding expansion, I think it is directed toward the LTT Office Fund.

Logan from Tek Syndicate has made some great overview/tutorial videos on open source music player Foobar2000. Videos are made for starters so not much new info for long time users like myself. Cod advanced warfare(The new shitty cod) should be erased and Activision should make like, 2 years from now ok, normal people but mostly techlovers ya now fighting against the fcc, comcast, verizon and some other isps and fighting for net neutrality. The trailer would be like in 2016 with Tom Wheeler laughing with comcast's and AT&T'S presidents in a big building and suddenly, people like soldiers and shit start like an ambush or something and Tom wheeler escapes with loads of money and he makes the internet uber slow and then some war scenes and finally the main character goes into a building and he starts talking to some guy that's not looking at the camera and you can only see him from behind and this guy says "They took wendell but they won't take net neutrality" and the guy looks at the main character and it's Logan from TS and then Qain appears with some super technological sunglasses and says "Let's kill Wheeler" SEPTEMBER 2014 WAIT FOR THE SALVATION OF THE INTERNET! Whilst the Thecus N5550 seems pretty decent and much better than any other pre-built NAS I've ever seen, I still don't find it compelling. For a start, what Wendell says about it being cheaper than buying all those components just isn't true - here in the UK at least. Here, the N5550 costs about £418, whilst an Intel Atom board will run you around £167, and that's with 6 SATA ports instead of 5 without losing the dual gigabit. Add onto that a chassis and PSU combo and you're looking at around £90, then after that all you need is drives and RAM. Those two things run you only £257 and RAM doesn't cost £150. You get the same functionality since you can still run a full Linux distro. Just about all you lose is the PCIe 1x slot, and you can't really use that with the N5550 chassis anyway. This brings me to my second point where Wendell talks about the i3 in the Z87 board in the Node 304. As a NAS that would be totally overkill, and the "it has 6 SATA ports" point doesn't really stand up because there are Atom boards with that many ports. An i3 in a NAS is just going to waste power and produce excess noise for very little actual gain - not to mention the Z87 thing when they're not gonna be overclocking or anything. If it's gonna be acting as a HTPC as well... Maybe, but in that case why aren't you looking at APUs? Idk, maybe this annoyed me a bit more than it should, but I'm used to agreeing with Logan, and especially with Wendell so it was kind of a facepalm for me. Am I right though? Anyone else feel like this or am I just an idiot lol?
