When i try to unscrew it it will make a "clack" sound and it will revert back to the screwed position. i will upload an image tryng to explain the position of the jamed screw/standoff. i dont know what to do, i hope you can help me with this one. i apologize for my bad english in general i hope i made myself clear with this problem. P.D:yes, the image is my exact case and my exact motherboard to be precise as posible.

Hello, I'm trying to put an Asus H110M-E/m.2 inside a Corsair 175r gaming case, the thing is, vertically the case has 4 standoffs for motherboard but the motherboard j Has 6 holes in it for standoffs, is there a problem to connect with only 4 standoffs? Why doesn't my case have all 6?

standoffscrews Motherboard standoff screws.
FPS_Exorcist posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
I'm looking for motherboard standoffs that are compatible with the plastic mounts that come with Phantex Neon defused RGB strips, and are also compatible with my MOBO (Asus ROG Maximus XI Hero) and case (Asus ROG Helios). Any suggestions regarding which ones I should buy?- 1 reply

i broke of three risers that hold on to the graphics card(orange boxes) while unscrewing them i wanted to know if there is somekind of super glue i could use that is strong enough to hold them in place(i would prefer this solution since i dont have access to soldering iron) or would i have to solder them back on? PS.the actual unbroken riser is in the red box

Hello. As the title states, I am having trouble getting my new PC to boot. I built it in the case first time, and nothing happened. I then built it outside the case on a wooden table, and it worked and brought me to BIOS, and all parts worked. I then built it back into the case, and it once again would not boot. My MB is the Asus Z390-A Prime, and my case is the NZXT h510. I feel like this may be a standoff problem of my motherboard touching the case and causing it to short/not boot for safety measures, but I don't know why that is the problem. The very middle standoff is just a pin instead of a screwhole, and my case came with a bag of standoff (see images below), but I don't know what they are used for. As you will find below, I have images of the MB backplate and standoffs that came with the case. In the first image, the very middle standoff/screwhole has a pin through it, and I don't know what this is for or if its a problem. Thank you in advance, I would greatly appreciate any help that can be given. https://imgur.com/gallery/eoSYU6m

Hi, I purchased a H100x off a friend pretty much brand new and have been setting everything up and up until now I noticed that I’m missing 1 standoff for the cpu bracket, the picture below shows, is this risky? And could there be a best possible combination?

I am trying to install an EVGA CLC 360mm AIO. I am having an issue with the standoff threading for the block-pump/backplate. I have a Gigabyte Z390 mobo with a 9900K in a Fractal Define R6 case. The Intel hardware baggie comes with M3 and M4 threaded standoffs. The directions say to use the M3 standoffs with an 115X sockets. I have an 1151 socket so that's what I am trying to use. The stand off has a long narrower end and a short wider end. The shorter end wouldn't screw into the backplate, so I screwed in the longer end. But even after tightening all 4 standoffs, the backplate was able to move. This told me it must be the shorter end that gets threaded into the backplate. To confirm this, I checked the bolts that will attach the block/pump to the CPU and they will only thread on the longer thinner end. I've just spent another ½ hour trying to thread the shorter end in with no luck. I have been assuming that the shorter stand off is the M3, but I tried the other just in case. The M4 threaded standoffs seem to have the same (correct) diameter thread on both ends, but neither side is short enough to make the backplate snug. Does anybody have any idea what I am doing wrong? The fun thing I still have to take apart and reassemble a PC I built on Friday that won't post. It's a good thing I don't have to go anywhere or do anything else for the foreseeable future...

Here's a video about my problem, As you can see that specific screw is loose and I can't remove it, my only guess is that I used the wrong standoff, does anyone have any idea how can I get it out without destroying the motherboard?

I bought computer parts for my first build and when i get to the point to install the motherboard in the case all but one standoff fit in with the holes in the motherboard. My case is fractal design define s and the motherboard is asus z270h gaming. All other standoffs gets in place just right but not this one and there is no hole right under to fit a standoff. Can i just use the other standoffs and simply ignore the one that doesn't fit? Or is there some good solution to my problem?

A while ago I was gifted a server from a friend. Now, I've taken all of the hardware out of the case and I'm trying a small project of mounting the entire unit to a nice board to display. I'm wondering what sized motherboard standoffs I need to mount it. (I don't have a dremyl tool to cut out the originals) The motherboard is an extended ATX Super X7DB3

Hey everyone, Newb PC builder here. I just built my first system. See specs below. First off, my system is working great. I have had no problems with it at all. It's been running well, even overclocked, for over 2 weeks now. Well, I just realized that I forgot to install the standoff's for the motherboard. I used some screws that came with the case to mount it. Once again, I havent had any problems, but I was just curious if its a big deal for the future. I know that it could short if it meets with the case. I was gonna go back and just install them, but when I pulled out my remaining pc parts, I only have 3 standoffs, where it actually takes like 9. Not sure why it didn't come with the rest. So my question is, should I worry about trying to buy more standoffs and fix it, or since the pc is still working fine, just leave it be. If its that big of a deal and I need to fix it, where can I buy some more standoffs that are specifically made for my motherboard. All help is appreciated. Thanks. So I am building another computer and the last time I did this was 6 years ago. I have a slight problem with my H100i V2 installation. I notice substantial wiggle room happening after I install the backplate for intel installation and I am nervous about this. I am wondering if there is anything I can do about this wiggle since it does not seem right to me. I will say that I have no completed my installation nor attached the pump because it seems to me like this wiggle shouldn't even happen. Especially after installing standoffs to me it should not wiggle. I have seen people adding washers to them..and results have been good but just figured since I follow this channel on youtube a lot that I would ask for advice here. My Rig: I7-7700K ASUS ROG Maximus IX Hero LGA1151 DDR4 DP HDMI M.2 USB 3.1 ATX Motherboard H100i V2 Corsair and a be quiet! Silent 800 W/ window

So a work buddy of mine made me paranoid because I didn't recall actually put in standoff screws for the motherboard so that the motherboard isnt directly touching the case. But i recalled seeing 6 nubs in the case with a big one in the center....and i had to line the motherboard perfectly with them to get the damm thing in. Sonim good right? Like i have the proper standoffs (spacer screws)? Pic related as its what my case lookedlike outbof the box

I have just ordered a new case and have taken my computer apart, after getting to taking off the bracket for my corsair h80i v2, I have found there to be one stand off that will not come off. I understand you can just leave it on but I would rather redo the entire build from the start for a multitude of reasons. I was wondering the best way to try to remove this stand off seen as I think it may have a damaged thread on either the standoff or the bracket (not sure). I have tried holding the bracket while turning the screwdriver however it hasn't worked. Thanks for any help that can be given, if you can't help I can always just put the other stand offs back on and just leave it anyhow!

I recently purchased the ROG Strix Z390-E gaming LGA 1151 (300 series) Intel motherboard and ran immediately into a brick wall. A package of screws and stand offs was missing for the M.2 memory slots. Wouldn't be a problem except that the thread size is different than anything else on the motherboard. I have been told that the stand offs and screws for the motherboard will work except that they are about twice as big as the holes available for the M.2 retainers. I've contacted the seller and the manufacturer and both are not being cooperative. If someone could please link me to somewhere I can purchase these items I would be most appreciative. This is the only thing I'm waiting on to finish my system and this run around is driving me insane. Thanks in advance.

Hi, Amazingly it took me _forever_ to figure out why the Samsung M.2 NVME SSD did not fit well in m2_1 slot on the Asus Crosshair VII. Turns out you need to swap out the 2280 standoff vs. the one in one of the bags that come with the motherboard AND that those 2 bags dont have the same height standoff included. Meaning you have to check out both of them. As this totally seems like an issue where you should find the info on the internet...here we go! (Hope to help other crosshair users.)

I'm mounting a motherboard on a wooden base I just want to know what is the safest way to do so. What should I know before installing the motherboard on a wooden surface?

I was one day cleaning my PC and I noticed a case standoff touching my motherboard(like the lower back of it). What was strange was that it wasn't shorting out my mobo and it was there for nearly 2 years. I made sure to take it out. My question is, is it bad to leave a standoff that's touching the mobo and isn't shorting it out?

Hello everyone! I bought an used CM Hyper 212 evo and it came with no standoffs or screw, just the bracket, the fan and the back plate. I thought of buying them on the cooler master store, but I have to pay more than 10€ for shipping, so I'm going to 3d print them. If you have the same cooler than I do, can you please measure the stand-off size? Not the LGA 2011 version, just the regular ones included in the fan box. I will attach an image in case that you don't know what do I mean, they are the letter C on the Hyper 212 evo manual. They have a m3 thread, I just need to know the tall base, the tall thread and the wrench sizing. Thank you all for reading!

Hello, I'm building my PC for my first time & my new case, the Focus G Mini from Fractal Design had a standoff in one of the holes when I opened it up. I got it out (easy), but I'm wondering, there is a tiny screw in the standoff, and I have no clue as how to get it out. Here's a picture with another standoff for comparison:
