Hello i've been looking for over a year for a pc but i dont have a big budget anymore im looking at around $500 CAD (canadian money) so if anyone could help me with finding all the parts that meet my budget, just the pc itself no keyboard, mouse, monitor etc. ill take anything from pcpartpicker used on ebay or new on amazon i just need help with a good build for casual gaming or beginners. So.. this adventure started a few months ago with a very stupid idea: my previous media center PC (athlon 64, and some other relics) had a rather tragic death of old age, and to compensate i wanted to build a new pc as cheaply as possible. i wanna preface by saying some parts were re-used from past builds, but they are counted as new price result: my first pick was the asrock Q1900m, coming in at just around €80. i slotted in 8 gigs of ram i had laying around, because i had 8 gigs laying around (new price: €65) as a hard drive... this rig has seen about every disk i have on the shelf, ended up with the seagate barracuda with windows 8.1 i pulled from my server (new price: €50) i wanna add here, the one and only reason this system is running windows 8.1 is because it was on the disk and i was too lazy to reinstall. for a power supply to start with, i used the previous media center's HP power supply, which by this point is right around the 10 year age mark, hence why it's been replaced yesterday i started out without a GPU, but that quickly became a GT640 to troublehsoot it, and then forgot to take that out, this has been replaced yesterday as well for a case.. i literally "sort by price"-ed my retailer of choice, and ended with a €25 zalman which honestly could have been much worse than it is. and for dramatic effect, i tossed in about €20 of chinese RGB goodness as for the final bits of the puzzle, i replaced the power delvering relic with a be quiet pure power 10 for €50 and since the GT640 wasnt entirely a happy camper anymore, i did the extreme splurge of buing a fanless GT1030 from MSI, coming in at €80 adding that up comes to a whopping: €370. -- the actual results... when powered off, "NOX" looks rather boring, and in case anyone wonders, the case badge is 3D printed and glow-in-the-dark the guts.. probably would be even more boring if it wasnt for the pure cringe RGB strips all over and the random glow in the dark crystal structure and in case someone wants a more lit shot of the gorgeous brown motherboard: the rear IO is equally spartan, as one would expect on a machine cheaper than a nice dinner for 4: take note of the super high-end PS/2 ports, vga, dvi, *AND* hdmi, and the *single* usb 3.0 port something else to note is the fan filter: this thing lives next to a bed, that rear fan is an intake, and it is freaking necessary last bit is a shot of the horrendous RGB-ness, for reference, these pictures were taken with the room lights on, and my phone really dislikes the blue: --- BUT! offcourse i wouldnt just make a topic about a cheap ass media center if it wasnt for benchmarks of crap i'd never even do on this thing: starting out with race the sun, mostly to get an idea of what to expect here.. i've before did benchmarks with the GT640, and appareantly the 1030 is a HUGE boost.. race the sun came in at a buttery smooth 200-240FPS, depending on the amount of objects flying past. one test of something i'd actually do is south park, stick of truth. offcourse rocking a *solid* 30FPS right into the FPS lock on the game rocket league.. surprised me.. i actually flipped it to high quality (with AA on low, because i'm a realist), and still had a rather smooth 60-76FPS. unfortunately even this buttery smoothness did not make my ball handling any better. having gotten new motivation from rocket league, i decided to try euro truck simulator 2.. it was playable.. like the packing peanuts my shipment came in was edible.. moving on to GTA V.. it was a surprisingly smooth 30FPS, until i noticed where the smoothness came from: a lack of textures, they took ages to load in.. back to the packing peanuts.. so... i tried civ V, another one i might actually do.. and another pleasant surprise at 60FPS on medium settings... with vsync on.. didnt bother turning it off because that meant loading the game again, and that took a century and a half to finish things off.. i tried besiege, which before the GPU upgrade ran up to around.. 14FPS if lucky? BOOM! buttery smooth 60FPS.. without vsync actually.. i expect this one to go seriously downhill in the more complex levels -- as for the primary purpose: it does play back twitch streams pretty well things i've learned with this build - ATX 24 pin connectors can go bad, and if its specificly the PS_ON pin this can give VERY interesting results. I however still trust the relic more than the modern power supply - 20 watts of RGB is too much watts of RGB - if you buy shitty hardware, it may randomly support nvidia optimus, but dont do it, it breaks shit. - i literally saved myself a tenner over going with a pentium and a cheapo mobo. - when you build a system with fanless cpu and gpu cooler.. the hard drive, even when idle, suddenly becomes very loud - if you keep your OS slimmed down, you can boot off of a hard drive in under a minute.

Hi, I am Alex and I am under 16 years old. I love computers and would love to make money off of them. My question is, how do I start building PCs and selling them, but with a budget of 700$. Also, I am from Serbia, Europe. With Serbia being not so computer developed, and high taxes for pc parts, your help about this and your opinions would help me a bunch. Alex

I am planning to build this once I get the money this upcoming Christmas. Would this be good for games like LoL, G-mod, Minecraft, etc...? I want to have it be easy to upgrade so that when I get more money later down the line I can improve on it...

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): So I'm sixteen and want to build my first PC. I'm tired of my 2014 laptop and am seeking to upgrade. I want any advice regarding possible incompatibility, size issues, areas where I can save a little, etc. Mind you I don't have the largest of budgets so keep that in mind if you're making any suggestions (I'm going to have to find a job to afford these prices).
