Hi everyone. I am about to add another ram module, in order to enable dual channel, it's the same ram (xmp 16gb module). Do I need to do anything? Should I reset bios to optimal settings since I changed the ram speed to 3200? Or it's just plug and play. Thanks a lot

Hi guys, i´m trying to build my first pc, i don´t have much money and pc components in my country are pretty expensive. I,ve been looking at some processors and i think im going with Ryzen. Im currently between getting a Ryzen 5 2600/1600 af now or wait for a Ryzen 3 3rd gen. I was wondering which one would be better for gaming and productivity. Is it it better to get Zen2 or zen+ is ok for the future? My gpu is a radeon 580 8gb OC and im expecting to upgrade it in a couple of years or something like that. i would very much appreciate any tips or ideas on the subject thanks a lot!

Hi all, Recently my 3700x started constantly boosting to over 4GHz at idle and ryzen master reports 81-83C at idle. I don't know why this happened, I haven't changed anything recently, this seems to have happened overnight. I have my mobo's latest bios and the latest amd chipset drivers (1.8.19.0915). Please help! I did give it a try but did not have any success. Here's my attempt: The confusing part on my MB is I can edit the Ram timing in 2 places. This page is where I have attempted it first but I can't find the FCLK here. And found this page: But here I can only go up to 3000Mhz (shown on the next screeshot) Does that mean my board is only capable of OC the Ram upto 3000Mhz? also I noticed on this page I can't type the number in manually I have to use the + and - to change the value and it provides me this other values as well And this is where I found the FCLK: I forgot to take a screenshot but I it's on the M.I.T. page where I found to adjust the Ram Voltage. tried 2 attempts and both did not boot/post. and the last one reset my MOBO completely and even removed my Bios Update. So should I just move on and not attempt any overclocking and use it as is? Any inputs are much appreciated.

I’ve run across some scary weirdness with a new system setup I am building. This is the 5th Ryzen I’ve built. But its the first one with the new Ryzen 3000 series CPU. New System Specs Corsair 750D Airflow Case Case Fans: 2 Noctua 140mm Linus Tech Tips branded Intake Fans, 2 Corsair 140mm (A1425L 12S-2) Top exhaust Fans, 1 Fractal Design 140mm (FD-FAN-DYN-X2-GP14-BK) Rear Exhaust Fan. HeatSink: Noctua D15S (Air flow from front to back) Motherboard Asus ROG Crosshair VII Hero (WIFI) x470 (bios patch ABB 2703, 2019/08/23) CPU: AMD Ryzen 3600 (65w) Ram: Gskill TridentZ Samsung B die 16gb set running at 3600 Video Card: XFX r9 390 (recycled) PSU: Corsair AX750 Storage: M.2 Samsung 970 Evo plus 256, 2tb WD Black 7200rpm OS: Non-Windows 10 I’ve read that the new Ryzen 3000 series runs at ridiculously hot temperatures. Whether at idle in the bios or idle on the desktop the CPU seems to idle at 40c to 47c under heavy load such at prime95 it tops out at 87c! which I find crazy hot for a 65w part, this is at default no overclocking. I’ve tried re-pasting with Noctua NT-H1 and Arctic MX4, using the cross pattern and rice grain methods. With no differences thermal results. Now for the scary weirdness I’ve run across; Occasionally the Asus Q-Fan will appear to become stuck, and stop ramping up and down the fans according to the heat the CPU is putting out. This is only resolved with a hard reset. I also made sure the option to turn off the fans was never checked on each fan. I though this might be to do with Asus Aura causing problems? As I normally set the colours to change depending on the CPU temp. Now the scary bit I ran across while I was trying to figure out a way to keep the CPU temperature in check during a prime95 test the motherboard shut off all the fans? None of them were spinning, the Noctua D15s Tower was really hot. Hwmonitor was showing 0RPM on all fans. The CPU was showing 92c But the computer was still fully responsive? I reset the computer and in the bios it showed 72c on the CPU and all the fans roared up to their max rpm and quickly lowered the CPU to 45c. **Edit For Clarity: the fans were running properly then they stopped during the test** I find this crazy, I cannot let a computer go out that is showing such problems. But I’m at a loss as to what is causing this behaviour. Bad board? Glitchy Bios? Looking for some insight.

Hey all, it's that time of year where I need some upgrade advice from the experts. After recently finishing Control and now playing through Borderlands 3 and the MW beta, I just feel that my PC isn't giving me the gaming experience that I want. Currently I have a i5 4690k on a ASUS H-97 Plus motherboard and that is paired up with a 1070. Right now, I want to hit at least 100fps@1440p while gaming on High (have no problem with lowering some settings). I'm really interested in the 2600 at it's amazing price point but I don't know if that would be a step backwards for my build or essentially if I would just be getting the same exact performance as I was with my 4690k? Would it be worth ponying up the $60 and going with the 3600? I don't plan on doing any extreme overclocking on any CPU i purchase outside of minimal tweaks (newb overclocker). I don't want to break the bank if I don't have to, but I would if you guys told me the 3600 is going to be a better investment over the 2600. If it helps, the games I play most are Apex, BFV, and the big AAA games (right now that would be Control, Borderlands 3, and MW Beta). Thanks for any advice!

Hi, I'm having trouble figuring out firstly why the EDC on my Ryzen 5 2600X is constantly in the 90-99% range. I've tried all the power plans (even ryzen balanced) and still can't seem to get it down. Secondly i'm having trouble getting more than 142 fps in csgo. I've seen others test the 2600X and getting 200+ fps. Any help at all is greatly appreciated! Specs: CPU: Ryzen 5 2600X MB: Aorus Elite B450 (bios F41) RAM: Corsair Vengeance 2x8GB 3000MHz GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1660 Super (driver 446.14) It should also be noted that i checked the drivers and they should all be up to date. Hey guys, recently i build a PC with this specification: CPU Ryzen 3 3300x (4.4Ghz OC), CPU voltage set to 1.346V (the other CPU voltage on auto) Motherboard Gigabyte B550 Aorus Pro RAM 2x8GB T-Force Delta RGB 3200Mhz, Hynix chipset (3600Mhz CL16-19-19-39 OC), voltage set to 1.4V GPU Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX5600XT (OC) PSU Corsair RM750x 80+ Gold Cooling Cooler Master MA610P I already run some stress test to the system and finally had no error (cinebench, ryzen master, 3Dmark, and prime95). How about your opinion guys? Maybe there are something that i miss about and concerning for you guys or still got some room for OC. It has been pretty stable so far after some fixing. Also let me know if you guys need more detailed information like temperature or something. Cheers.

I'm planning on upgrading by build in the next month. I was going to get a B350 board with Ryzen 5 1600, but I know that Ryzen second gen is about to launch. I'm fairly new to the tech world so I need your advice! Am I better with the R5 1600 at discount price or should I wait for the R5 2600? Hello, I suspect that my CPU (R5 1400) is bottlenecking my photo editing rig (technically my SO's). I'll be needing an upgrade but it's not that bad that it is really urgent. I was thinking of upgrading to the R5 1600 as it would kill photoshop stuff I think. With the new ryzen cycle around the corner the age old question comes with it: Should i wait for the next cycle to come. I'm not asking if the new CPU's will be worth it. I know the R5 1600 will be enough for my needs. My question is: will the price drop in the R5 1600 be enough to justify waiting a few months/ half a year? Also keep in mind that i plan on selling my 1400 on the second hand market, so those prices would drop as well I think. Is it worth the wait then or should i just go out and buy the 1600 now?

Good day you fine Gentlefolk, Lately and for the foreseeable future my build has had to work more and game less. Namely Video Editing and 3D Rendering from Maya and Mudbox. Now with Ryzen 2 coming up and Ryzen 1 being sold for cheaper than before i was thinking if it would be worth it to upgrade to an 8c/16t thread cpu from my current 6700k. All Benchmarks pretty much say that there is an increase in performance in those areas but is it actually worth it? Has anyone made a similar change and can confirm that Rendering and CPU Heavy tasks that aren't gaming feel much faster and better? I'm just unsure if the 400+€ Investment will be worth it or if i should just stick to my current CPU until it is way to slow for everything
