I upgraded my RAM a while back to a G-Skill Trident Z 32GB kit. I enabled DOCP/XMP to run the 3200mhz speeds. It ran pretty stable for over a year. When I upgraded to windows 11 I started noticing random game crashes and BSOD's. I did some initial trouble shooting and upgraded my motherboard BIOS version to the latest version. It ran stable for about 3 weeks and started to show the same symptoms. A fresh windows install didn't fix the issue. It's really weird, I can use my pc with normal workloads like browsing, coding, etc. without any hastles. I noticed that I can play games normally without any crashes after a reboot, but when I open my browser and I play a game it would crash after a while but not in a consistent pattern. It crashes at random intervals. A restart fixes it and only if I don't open my browser. I have reinstalled and verified the game files. Below is the error I am getting when I view the error in event viewer (All my games give a similar error): --- Faulting application name: DCS.exe, version: 2.8.1.34667, time stamp: 0x63a31163 Faulting module name: edCore.dll, version: 2.8.1.34667, time stamp: 0x6390d1f1 Exception code: 0xc00000fd Fault offset: 0x0000000000171617 Faulting process ID: 0x0x2B00 Faulting application start time: 0x0x1D957428840C288 Faulting application path: D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\DCSWorld\bin\DCS.exe Faulting module path: D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\DCSWorld\bin\edCore.dll Report ID: e358a903-35c5-4790-b674-098adbd12d1e Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID: --- Faulting application name: Subnautica.exe, version: 2019.4.36.870, time stamp: 0x6271351f Faulting module name: UnityPlayer.dll, version: 2019.4.36.870, time stamp: 0x62713573 Exception code: 0xc000001d Fault offset: 0x000000000020a445 Faulting process ID: 0x0x2268 Faulting application start time: 0x0x1D95D9C08033E3E Faulting application path: D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Subnautica\Subnautica.exe Faulting module path: D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Subnautica\UnityPlayer.dll Report ID: 1475a098-f5c0-4ab8-91e8-8656b1e65ee5 Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID: --- The last step I am going to try is remove the DOCP/XMP profile and run it stock out of the box. I have a aorus B450 m motherboard with bois f2. I have a ryzen 5 2600. I had a zotac gtx 1060 amp 6gb but that died 2 weeks ago. I have no other gpu around so. I'm gone try to buy a radeon rx 6800 xt. Maybe a little bit of overkill for my ryzen 2600 but I wil see. If my gpu is to hard bottlenecked by the cpu than I will upgade de cpu. But than I need a bios upgrade. I have never updated my bois. I don't know how. When I see on the website of the motherboard, I can find all de differend bios versions. My questions are. Do I need to do all de previous bios form f2 to f60c? How do I do a bios update? Does it gone have any performance increase with te ryzen 2600? Does de bios f60c work for my ryzen 5 2600? (because this bios is ment to support de new 5000 cpu's) Can somebody help me?

Hello I am new to this forum, I just upgraded my mobo b450 to b550 while waiting on avaiable zen 3 CPU. I was able to post while using r5 2600, unfortunately evey time I try to "OC" my ram PC will not post, anything more than 2000 MHz and it goes into bootloop. Curentlly running MSi B550 Gaming Plus ASUS Radeon RX 5700 XT Dual Evo AMD Ryzen 5 2600 GOODRAM 32GB (2x16GB) 3600MHz CL17 IRDM PRO (on asrock 4pro I was able to set it up to 3400 MHz cl16) 650W powesupply Anyone have any idea if I can do anything to resolve this issue? Edit. I was able to OC to 3333mhz (I think that I will be able to get above 3500 stable) CL 16 tRCD 19 tRP 19 tRAS 36 tRC 56 I have no idea what could be the issue (CPU temp were aslo higher than on b450 but it seems to stablize itself) I will probably do more testing when I am not so bussy with work. If anyone have any tips it will be appreciated.

I am building a new computer soon for workstation purposes(excluding heavy content such as video editing) and I was deciding on either the 3400g or the 2600.I am pairing my cpu with a ASRock B450m pro4. My budget is under $1000 CAD for the whole system and I have pick out storage, psu, case and ram. Also note that I wouldn't be needing any feature from the x570 such as PCIe 4.0 and wouldn't need this computer for any gaming what so ever. This computer will be upgrading from an Intel i7-4770s.

I am in a bit of a pickle. I am needing to increase my current storage situation. I am currently using a QNAP TS-453b populated with 4 4TB drives running in RAID 0 and 2 14TB HDDs in an external dock. One drive mirrors what the Raid 0 is to ensure some kind of backup and the other mirrors that one and uploads to my Gdrive (unlimited storage). The QNAP is maxed as is the mirror. Yes I know it is a horrible situation to entrust data to. I lost a ton of business between February and march however one of my clients (a school who needs a ton of videos shot for their students) is having me on retainer and when I expressed that I am needing to increase my storage situation as we are shooting twice a week on a 3 camera setup shooting 4K. I watched the LTT video on building the budget NAS server to go with the budget 4K editing machine and started building the parts list to see if this would be a better solution than going with the QNAP tvs-1282-i7-32g-us (https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1261939-REG/qnap_tvs_1282_i7_32g_450w_us_tvs_1282_12_bay_nas_enclosure.html). I noticed that the 2600 is not in stock anywhere and being how the ones that are for sale currently around $150-$200 price point I thought maybe a 3600 or 3600x maybe a better solution as this is a)cheaper than the 2600 on Amazon ($195) and E bays craziness; and b)3600 using Zen 2 architecture vs 2600's Zen+ architecture making any impact-full difference. I am new to the wold of servers and would appreciate any help. I also factored building this would allow me to buy 2 more 14TB drives so I can retire the 4TB drives as they are not NAS drives.

Hi Guys, I've recently built a new computer, and have been having some trouble with the dreaded BSOD, getting multiple a day, all with different errors. These errors occur on a seemingly random basis, most frequently however when I have chrome or a game open. Here are the most recent errors: Store_data_structure_corruption Memory-management Page_store corrupt Faulty_hardware corrupted page I have tried running sfc /scannow but no errors were found. Additionally I've even completely reinstalled windows, and am still getting BSOD's, am wondering whether maybe my installation media is corrupt. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance. if needed the specs of the PC are: CPU: Ryzen 2600 Motherboard: ASRock ATX Motherboard (B450 PRO4) RAM: Corsair CMK8GX4M1A2400C16 Vengeance LPX 8 GB (1 x 8 GB) DDR4 2400 MHz C16 XMP 2.0 High Performance Desktop Memory Module HardDrive: WD 1 TB PC Hard Drive - Blue SSD: SanDisk SSD PLUS 240 GB Sata III 2.5 Inch Internal SSD PSU: Corsair CX550M 550 W GPU: GEFORCE GTX 1060 GAMING X 6G

Ryzen 5 2600 Asus Rog Strix B350-F 16GB (2x8) 3000 MHz Corsair Vengeance LPX MSI GTX 1070Ti 1TB WD Blue SSD I was running my 3000MHz RAM at 3200MHz for a few months and would frequently experience games crashing, or the whole system crashing, mostly during gaming. Sometimes the system would slow down significantly and produce a few beeps when just loading a simple program like a web browser, then would return to normal after a couple seconds. I didn't know what was causing this until I was running Memtest in preparation for using DRAM Calculator for Ryzen to figure out the highest frequency I could overclock my RAM to, and thus, CPU, and Memtest showed multiple errors. I ran it to 400% at 3200MHz and there were A LOT of errors. So I thought that maybe my motherboard wasn't good enough to overclock the RAM to 3200MHz (Even though the manual says it can) and that was causing system instability. So I changed the frequency to the stock 3000 MHz and ran Memtest again and there were less errors than before but still a lot. Then I ran Memtest to 400% on every frequency down to 2666MHz and there were still errors. So after some research I determined that my RAM must have been corrupted somehow, because that would explain the errors on every frequency. After more research I thought it might be possible that because my RAM was not optimized for Ryzen it became corrupted. Vengeance LPX is listed as being compatible with Ryzen 2nd gen but it is not optimized for it like some RAM is. But I can't find conclusive proof on this. It's a popular choice for RAM, and I've seen lots of people saying they are running it with no problem, even at the same frequencies I was. So right now I am just trying to figure out how this happened in the first place. If anyone has any insight on this or had experience with something similar your help would be appreciated. Note: I know that motherboard won't be able to overclock the CPU that much or at all, but I did not know that when I built this PC because I didn't know much about overclocking. I plan on upgrading to an R5 3600 later this year, which will require faster RAM, which will require a new motherboard, so I will be replacing these parts anyway.

Hello ! Basically, the current PC is old AF and I need a new one ! Did some research, ( youtube, forums, more youtube ) and made some decisions; To be noticed, I said some, not all and more importantly, not final ! 1. Budget & Location Budget: 1700 Euros - More like the total sum I theoretically will need to spend for the parts below - (Prices below are based on the following currency exchange rate, if someone is interested 1 Euro = 4.78 RON - local currency) Location : Romania ( Included prices from local retailers since I do want to be able to quickly fix any warranty issues, without the need to ship my components - basically, no amazon ) 2. Aim Gaming at 2K @144Hz - Most AAA titles which should cover in my opinion the requirements for any MMORPGS, MOBAs that I would also visit from time to time 3. Monitors 2 Monitors : Main : 27" 2K 144Hz and 2nd (for the moment) 21.5" 1920x1080 4. Peripherals No peripherals needed. Will need to buy the 27" 2K 144Hz monitor. Already have Windows 10. 5. Why are you upgrading? Old PC is living his last days after 8 years of releasing heat in my room. Thoughts and parts : Parts I got until now : GPU : An MSI 1080TI GAMING X bought used at 482 Euros ( In local warranty for 1 year and a few months ) - A new 1080TI is almost impossible to find and a MSI GeForce RTX 2080 VENTUS is 763 Euros PSU : Sirtec - High Power Element BRONZE II 700W (Already have it) Parts I decided upon until now : Case : Silverstone Redline RL06 Tempered Glass Black/Red - 90 Euros Good airflow, decent vents included IMO ( For a later reference : 158 [cm] Max CPU Height ) CPU : Ryzen 2600 - 162 Euros Price/performance unbeatable IMO, at least where I live ( as reference : Ryzen 2700 - 276 Euros | I5-8600 - 272 Euros | I5-9600K - 282 Euros | I5-8600K -317 Euros | I7-8700 - 340 Euros | I7-8700K - 450 Euros ) RAM : G.Skill Ripjaws V Red 16GB DDR4 3200MHz CL14 1.35v Dual Channel Kit - 205 Euros ( CL15 are 185 Euros & CL16 are 141 Euros ) 3200 cos I understood that due to how it's made, Ryzen likes faster RAM. If I understood correctly, the latency is almost invisible in games in terms of FPS. What does makes a CL14 better, is the stability so that's why I went for it. HDD : Seagate BarraCuda 2TB SATA-III 7200RPM 256MB - 61 Euros | Not much to say here SSD : IF i can somehow keep everything decent, I do want a 500 Gb one either a 970 Evo (130 Euros) or a WD Black (118 Euros) | Not much to say here Total until now (without SSD and with the most expensive RAM) : Exactly 1000 Euros Parts I still need : Motherboard - X470 vs B450, 145 - 180 Euros, 180 - 224 Euros | Is it weird to spend more on a mobo than the CPU or is it just me ? Can't decide here since my mind is wrapped around the idea that I should pick let's say an "overkill"(more than enough) mobo for the 2600 in the hopes that the next gen Ryzen CPU's will be more compatible if that's a thing, in terms of features. That is if we''ll be able to mount the new Ryzen series (excluding Threadripper) on the current AM4 mobos and if I decide to switch. Main monitor (27" 2K 144Hz) | Kinda the only options I deemed worthy : All around the 450 Euros mark ASUS Gaming MG279Q | ASUS Gaming MG278Q | DELL Gaming S2716DG Aftermarket CPU cooler ( 50 - 80 Euros ) I do not plan to OC the CPU but if I find myself in a situation that needs that (e.g. for more FPS at the desired resolution) I would be willing to add more Hz to the stock value From what I understood, 4 GHz (4.2 GHz if lucky for a good chip ) is more than doable and can't decide on what would be a decent cooler ( just to have it in sight ) for the previous mentioned frequencies. Total now ( without SSD, with the most expensive RAM, with a mobo @190 Euros, monitor and a 75 Euros CPU Cooler ) : ~1700 Euros That being said, I would appreciate any opinions on the build above and more importantly any adjustments/different choices for it, especially for the "Parts I still need" ( except the GPU and PSU ). Things like is it a good build for 2K 144Hz, is there a must have component for the mentioned aim, compatibility issues if any, too expensive, too cheap.....anything your experience might make you chuckle a bit, or more. If additional details are required, let me know and I will add them ! Thank you for your time ! Much appreciated !

I am heavily considering a build with the MSI B450 Pro Carbon AC, Ryzen 2600 and a Sapphire Nitro+. I was recently cross checking my favorite RAM on pc part picker with the approval memory listed on MSI's website. Needless to say some of the ram I was looking to purchase isn't listed on the MSI website. Should I be worried????

Hi there, I bought my new PC recently and I have a problem, that "high end" games like Metro Exodus etc. are just crashing over and over and idk why... games like LoL and CS:GO works fine... I tried everything to fix it, like updating every driver i could find, reinstaling windows, disabling multithreading, downgrading RAM clock speed atc. but now i just noticed that temperature on CPU is so high without work... but I dont understand that, I have 240mm water cooling and one of the best thermal compound... Can you help me with that please ? Thanks

This is Doc2 a mid-range Gaming Build that I've built for our youngest teenaged child but It is being burned in running Folding at Home during the LTT Folding Month. Chassis: Fractal Design Meshify C Power Supply: Corsair CX450M Mainboard: Gigabyte Aorus b450m Pro WiFi CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600x Cooler: Wraith Prism from a 2700x Memory: 2 x 4GB GSkill RipJaws V DDR4-3200 CL16 Storage: AData SU800 126GB m.2 SATA SSD Lower Front Intake Fan: Noctua NF-A14 PWM Upper Front Intake Fan: Noctua NF-A14 Redux 1500 PWM Rear Exhaust Fan: Noctua NF-A12 Redux 1700 PWM GPUS: EVGA GTX 1060 6GB SSC Gaming ACX 2.0; RTX 2080 Super Black OS: Windows 10 Home; Ubuntu 18.0.4.3 LTS Desktop The GTX has been moved to the PCIe3 x4 slot at the bottom of the board and the RTX 2080 Super installed in the PCIe3 x16 slot during the LTT Folding Month. The RTX 2080 Super is producing 2MPPD and the GTX 1060 about 450kPPDD and the CPU 60-80kPPD. The power supply has been replaced with a Corsair RM750X for folding month. Note that conventional wisdom is to not use the PCIe lanes off the ChipSet to drive GPUs for folding but I've seen little to no degradation of points for the 1060 likely as it is pretty slow by todays standards and also perhaps due to Linux having better bus arbitration and lower utilization than Windows 10. The final graphics card will depend on the kid's mid term progress report card. The mostly play MineCraft and ElfSword but this build is meant to provide a solid base for low framerate gaming for the next few years.

Hi! Building a new PC here and am stuck between these two: Ryzen 5 2600 vs 1600. I'm kinda tight on budget and I'll be using it for casual gaming and light photo editing. I'm from India and choosing the 2600 would cost me an upward of Rs. 6000 ( about 86 USD) due to the motherboard upgrade and the processor itself. Is it worth going for the 2600, owning to future proofing or will 1600 suffice? Is the performance difference enough?

Hi guys, since I'm paranoid, I was wondering how long a R6 2600 can live on 4ghz overclock (want to achieve a stable frequency).

I posted this on Reddit but didn't have much luck (It was even deleted from the AMD sub) so I figured I would try my luck here. So its been a while since I have built a new machine from scratch, but I just finished a nice new Ryzen 2600 ITX build. The parts are as follows: AMD Ryzen 2600 Asus ROG Strix x470-I Gaming 16GB (2x8) G.Skill Trident Z (F4-3600C16D-16GTZR) Corsair Hydro H60 Coolermaster Masterwatt 750W PSU Silverstone Sugo SG13 Case And not that it should matter, but the GPU is a Vega 56 with a 64 bios. I have updated the bios, loaded optimized defaults and then selected the DOCP profile for the ram. Got windows installed, run all the updates and downloaded the latest chipset drivers ect... Now according to this (https://www.techspot.com/article/1618-ryzen-2600x-vs-2600/) a stock 2600 should have a Cinebench score of around 1290 (single core 163) (Cinebench its self lists a score of 1270 for the 2600). Anandtech and Toms Hardware both have stock at about 1250. My score... 1100 if I'm lucky (single core 144). That seems rather low. During the test the all core clock speed is 3650 and single core performance sits on 3800 with an occasional jump to 3900 for a fraction of a second (its never sustained). I have tried the Balanced Power Plan and the AMD Ryzen Balanced Plan and it doesn't change the score. I have checked the temps and even though its an ITX build it tops out at around 62 degrees according to Ryzen Master. According to Ryzen Master and CPU-Z the memory is running at 3600 and has the correct timings (16-16-16-36). Like I said, its been a while (5 years) since my last brand new build so have a completely forgotten to do something and missed an obvious step? Or am I just expecting more from the CPU that it gives at stock? I do plan on overclocking, I just wanted to get it running at its best at stock so I could save a profile to fall back on in the bios before I start the OC process. Update since Reddit post: I have been told that 3600 might be too fast for the memory controller so I have dialed it down. I used the Ryzen memory calculator to get a fer settings. I tried 2933 (spec speeds). No crashes and no real difference in score. I also tried 3200 (3200-3400 seems to be the sweet spot). Also stable and also no improvement in score. I have also tried manually overclocking the CPU. I pushed it up to 3.9GHz on all cores with 1.35mv and my cinebench score hardly increased. It did go up but it still didn't break the 1200 mark which is even more confusing. :S Out of desperation I have also stripped down the ITX build (what a pain) to reseat the memory and CPU and am now running the thing in open air to rule out thermals on other parts of the M.Board (like the VRMS?) I get not all CPUs are the same but this seems like more than low quality silicon. Any help would be appreciated as I cant for the life of me figure out why this CPU is under performing by such a lot.

I have already reinstalled windows and reset the CMOS. Please help me find the issue or the component that is downgrading the performance. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Hi, I’m a first time builder and am looking for a cpu. I’ve done some research, and have come to 3 options- the AMD Ryzen 5 1600, the 1600 AF, and the 2600. My budget is a maximum of 200-210 Canadian dollars for my processor. I’m probably going to run it with an NVIDIA GeForce 1660 Super. Could you help me out, and give me some of your hot takes on each of the processors? I was initially going for the AF, as it had he same performance as the 2600, but apparently the price has gone up, and they cost the same now. As of this moment, I’m looking at the 2600, but the 1600’s low price is quite compelling, as I can put that into a good mobo or an m.2 drive instead of a basic ssd. My total budget for the PC is somewhere between 700 and 750 Canadian dollars.

Hi all, I'm planning a mini ITX build and want to opt for a Ryzen 2600 or 2600X CPU, which I'd like to pair with a GTX 1080 and 16 gigs of DDR4. I'd also like at least 2-3 case fans and a string of RGB lighting for the case. I think I'm gonna go with a single 1TB M.2 drive (Not an NVME though) for storage, but maybe I'll add a second storage drive down the line. I will have a fairly small case, so any heat dissipation advantage is a consideration. I think I will opt for a Cryorig C7 for cooling the CPU, and the case won't fit anything larger. Here are the motherboard contenders so far: MSI B450I Gaming Plus AC - or - AsRock Fatal1ty B450 Gaming-ITX/ac If there are other Motherboards out there that might fit my needs let me know. The Asus ROG STRIX B450 feels like overkill to me, but feel free to change my mind.

Hello i'm a fairly new pc enthusiast here and want to ask your advice for upgrading my cpu, ram and motherboard. I currently have Amd-fx 6300,8 gb of ddr3 memory and gtx 1060. I'm happy with my gpu's performance but the fx-6300 is bottlenecking it in some games. I'm looking currently at Ryzen 5 2600 and I5 8400 and the Ryzen have seem a better option for me because of the 12 threads and lower cpu usage. My problem really is that i don't really want to spend that much money and i'm currently thinking about buying a mobo with 2 ram slots (because of the cheaper price) and one 8 gb stick of 2666mhz ram (planning to upgrade to 16gb). I'm aware of the decrease in performance with single-channel memory but i'm okay with it because i plan to upgrade it to 16 gb in a month or two. The insecure part is that is it okay to buy another stick of 8gb ram? (same model etc.) Have read that some people advise not to and some say it's okay. The pc is really just for gaming in 60fps (currently using it on a tv). So i would like to ask you my fellow comrades what you think about the situation and i am open to suggestions. Mainly looking for getting all out of my gpu for 60fps. Thank you and sorry if i had any any typos, english isn't my native language

Please I seriously need help... I'm not a total noob but this is baffling everyone. (https://pcpartpicker.com/list/VHQ229) CPU: Ryzen 2600x Motherboard: was Gigabyte Auora x470 gaming 5 wifi, now Asrock x470 Taichi RAM: Corsair Dominator Plantinum ddr4 3000mhz (2x8gb) GPU: MSI GTX 1060 6gb PSU: Seasonic 550w Gold+ samsung ssd, western digital hdd. It worked for a day. Then started freezing. Then the SSD died (unrelated). So I replaced the ssd and its still freezing... I was told to look at RAM, so tested 1 at a time and different configurations, still freezing. Passed memtest86+ flying colors, Its not the RAM. The first motherboard was rated bad, so I replaced that, still does the exact same thing. I will go into details about the freezing: It only happens on GUI screens, not bios, not console based text programs, just windows and linux. I can leave it on the first windows installer screen all night and it wont freeze, but after a few minutes of moving windows around minimize maximize (the installer dialog), it freezes. I ran a CPU stress test (prime28.5 off ulitmate boot cd) and PCIe timer timeout errors pop up every 10-30 minutes... I googled and couldn't find anything. But that suggests graphics card? I've ran a VRAM test and it passed it. I have an RMA number for the CPU so will be remailing it, but it basically does work, its this freezing thing, think they will find it in there testing? what does this sound like to you?
