Hey there everyone! I saw a deal of this MSI Pro MP243XW 23.8" 1080P 100Hz display in Amazon (international shipping) for $89.99 US. Has anyone used this monitor, or know of trustworthy reviews? It has pretty good (yet very little) reviews in Amazon, and I have heard it's an amazing monitor for the price, but it's mostly people on Telegram groups and small channel reviews in languages I might not understand. I currently use a 75Hz 1080P 5ms response time monitor, as well as a secondary old HP display (1024x768) that was given to me for free. I kinda want an upgrade, I would get the new monitor and keep using my previous ones, but Idk whether to wait for something else or go for this one. My budget is as high as that deal btw (I guess max is $100). What do you all think? Any comments are welcome. If you're gonna search for a recommendation, I would appreciate it if you chose Amazon, since it does free international shipping to my country (Colombia). Thanks!

Hey there everyone! Thanks to some folks here in the forum (huge thanks to @YoungBlade) I've been guided in my upgrade to AMD (first time ever touching an AMD PC). Even if I already have 2x16GB 2666MHz RAM in my current PC and could very well transfer it to the new platform, I wanna see what upgrade I can make which would be cheap and far better than what I have. Maybe 3600MHz? I don't know anything about timing or anything so all help is welcome. Would prefer keeping the same amount of memory, and the cooler I'm getting allows up to 62mm memory modules. I'm welcome for new and used options, either Amazon or eBay, or just basic recommendations based on your local used market, might have similar deals. If there isn't something I can score for less than $45, then I'll just wait for that specific upgrade since I'm already doing a ~$300 upgrade and my wallet hurts. Any comments welcome!

I’m planning on building a DIY router with 2-3 APs. I haven’t decided if I should use OpenWRT or pfSense or something else (would love to hear your inputs on that). If I want it to have mesh roaming capabilites, what are the things I need to keep in mind? Would I be able to use any APs, or would I need to use one from the same brand/model?

Hi, I'm looking to upgrade the ram on my Acer Nitro 5 laptop (model #: an515-57-919c. Series: an515-57). Specs CPU: i9-11900H GPU: RTX 3060 Storage: 512g SSD RAM: DDR4 16g 3200MHz I am planning to replace my old single ram stick of SK Hynix DDR4 16g 3200mhz with two 32g 3200MHz modules because I will be doing 3D modelling, using Photoshop etc for university and I will need more ram if i'm gonna be using such demanding software. I was hoping to get some ideas on what ram is compatible with my laptop and which brands of ram are worth choosing. Budget isn't an issue but obviously nothing overpriced, I don't want to be paying more for something that offers the same performance as something cheaper. I do live in Australia and want to get my ram from a local business so keep that in mind whern picking out ram. I'd prefer not to order from Amazon (just a personal preference of mine) but if the only compatible ram sticks are available there then I will make an exception. If I forgot to mention anything or if you need further information just let me know. Master Yoshi

Im looking if there is a way to limit fan speed for the gpu because at a certain rpm/fan speed it would make a loud grinding noise. Im looking for a way to limit the fan speed to 70-71 % at the same time is still set to automatic so it wont always go 71% when the gpu is idle and im not gaming. so it goes 0% when idle and if i put workload it would slowly climb at 71% when playing..

Hey, I am currently looking to purchase a new phone, Daily I am mostly using my phone for calls, browsing and not much else but after starting to study game design and having to develop some phone games, I've came to find out my Samsung J6 I got a few years ago, is just not cutting it. So I realized that I need a phone that is more powerful, and that can perhaps run modern phone games decently (definitely doesn't have to be max settings and top tier specs). So in general, I'm mainly looking for a device that will be good for my basic daily usage, but also good enough to run games I am working on or playing for research (or past time). I'm not that familiar with phone specs, so it is a bit difficult for me to compare phones. My budget is not unlimited, but I'll be happy to invest in a device that will last me for a good while and be useful in my day to day and work life.

Looking for a good pair of wireless headphones that would just be overall good. I live in Lithuania, and while I would greatly prefer to be able to buy them off the shelf here locally, I would also be fine with importing from Amazon Needs: Wireless (Necessary for VR and I also can't go back to wired with how much I walk around my room) Good range (I should be able to go downstairs separated by 3 or so walls and still hear it) Good battery (Charge it no more than once a day, I use it easily 12hrs a day, preferably I would charge them once every two) Good quality audio (I don't care about perfect vocals or stuff like that, I just want it to not clip the peaks to the point where ever S hurts to hear and it shouldn't distort every sound if I'm in a game and an engine is running) Proper over-ear design, not one of the flimsy plastic ones that wobble like crazy and would break at the slightest bend Preferably: Lasts a long time in terms of durability, doesn't fall apart after a year Proper software and easy to deal with USB-C for charging, I'm running out of Micro USB cables by now And finally, one feature I will miss from my current Arctis 7 is the game/chat toggle, is there any way of doing this in a headset that doesn't support it? I Really like being able to move the dial a bit when I need to quickly adjust music/game volume I think I might be asking for a bit much for <150€, but if there is a headset that matches this criteria, I would be thankful if you could share it. If there is none, then preferences are arranged top to bottom in the needs and preferably categories. If possible, getting one that does this for even cheaper would be great. I don't care about studio quality and perfect frequencies or whatever, I just want something that I don't need to think about And that's the primary thing that the headset should do: Not be noticed. It needs to just not be distracting. I really hope I'm not asking for too much here, I hope the geniuses here can find something great for me Thanks in advance

Heya! Looking for some tips on a GPU for 3440x1440 gaming. It's music production first, gaming second - hence the 13600K over AMD, and DDR5 ram (matters a lot for DAW/DSP). Got a 10% discount code (expires 1. jan). Want something sooner rather than later. Used IGPU for 3-4 months already, and black friday had real 0 deals on GPUs this year. Specs 13600K (undervolted, 130w @ 97-98% of original performance) 32GB DDR5 6000mt (36/36/36/86) MSI B760 Tomahawk (ordered PC parts on cellphone, didn't do enough research , will swap to z690/z790 potentially if overclocking becomes necessary) Corsair RM850E (850W PSU) WDBlack NVME 1TB 7.3/6.3 gb/s + 500GB 5/5 gb/s for Os Factors For Purchase Power efficient (power is expensive here, especially during winter... 300%+ increase at the worst) 60+ fps (preferably more) in GPU heavy titles Low noise / heat Between $700 and $1400 Preferably more than 16GB Vram Mixed Settings + Upscaling is fine RT is nice to have, not a selling point for me Prices (pre discount code) 7800 XT / 6950 XT - $655 (in stock) 7900 XT - $1058 (4-6 week waiting time) 7900 XTX - $1292 (in stock) 4070 TI - $1012 (in stock) Really struggling to make a decision here, as they all give great performance. I'd rather get something a bit more expensive, get less in power cost and upgrade in 4-5 years. So to wrap it all up, my question is this: Do you play at this resolution and have any of these cards? What's been your experience? What would you choose if you were purchasing at this point in time, at these price points? Any input would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

Hello, I'll keep this nice and easy and get straight to the point because this is likely the 1000th post of this type here, so sorry about that. I'm looking for a new mechanical keyboard. Usage: Casual gaming, general office, and life usage I like 100% keyboards Wired Individually backlit is ideal but zoned gets the job done (RGB does actually add frames) Price limit is £150 however this is not a hard limit Don't care about wrist rests Dedicated macro buttons aren't a necessity but I do like the F keys being reprogrammable on Logitech keyboards Not entirely concerned about construction materials I've only ever had the G-Roamer switches from Logitech which is apparently fairly close to Cherry MX Browns (I don't think the switches will be a major deciding factor but I thought I'd put this here just to give a little context as to what I'm familiar with) I presently have the Logitech G810 Orion Spectrum, I do enjoy having the media controls offered by this keyboard (the volume roller and play pause etc buttons), I initially looked at the G213 progidy but doing a little search on the dome switches showed they were generic dome switches jazzed up with marketing speech. The other one I considered was the G910 Orion Spectrum, this was right on my budget but I feel I'm paying more for the Arx phone dock thing that I never plan on using. I did ask on Reddit and only got 1 suggestion, that was the Keychron Q6 QMK. I was initially interested in this one but the UK ISO is unavailable on their site, and elsewhere it's more expensive, so I'm looking for further suggestions. Thank you in advanced.

Any recommendations for a portable monitor for around $100 CAD that has the following: USB-C DP-Alt mode Charging host device through its 2nd USB-C port Decent brightness Great color accuracy 1080p or 1200p @ 60Hz Planning on making my Steam Deck as full-time laptop replacement. Also, the $100 requirement is with discounted price. If there are options out there that aren't on sale, I'd still like to hear all the same.

I really wanted to get the System76's Launch keyboard, but it's unreasonably expensive as someone who lives at the hat of America. Is there an alternative that is Fully customizable on Linux Reasonably priced Macro keys (preferable) Can save settings to firmware (preferable) multiple profiles wireless option (optional) Also, I'm looking for one that's the same requirements as above, but also: low profile wireless with 2.4GHz dongle 65-75% bluetooth option lightweight Has to be compact as I'm planning on making this my Steam Deck's keyboard that I can bring with me.

Hey there everyone, I'm currently looking for a decent TV or Monitor which will purely be used with a Fire TV Stick and occasionally my Nintendo Switch when docked. I don't watch any regular Television channels, so I'm unsure if purchasing a Television would be worth it in the first place. Currently, I use a 1080p Philips TV from 2012 with 3 bright dots. I don't think trying to fix a 2012 TV that was considered "budget" back in that decade is worth it, haha. It doesn't need to be high refresh rate, low response time or anything like that. I will mainly use it to watch YouTube/Twitch at night and sometimes use my Switch docked (which I only play Pokémon and Animal Crossing on…). Some half decent colour accuracy would be appreciated. Does not need to be "smart" as I will use my Fire TV Stick Does not inbuilt-speakers as I will hook up external ones. As 80% of the time I use it as background ambiance like playing a 24/7 fireplace stream, something like "ambilights" would be cool but no needed. Being able to control it (volume & source input) is preferred. I live in The Netherlands. Requirements: Budget is 280euro Between 28 - 32 inch (larger won't fit) 50Hz+ would be great.. What do you guys think?

Hello everyone! I have lost track of GPU space over the past few generations and need your help here, as I am thinking about upgrading my GPU. With an upgrade, I would mainly like to futureproof myself and respond to the new generation of available games with their requirements. I am using my PC for gaming as well as for content creation and media production. Therefore I am kinda interested in the possible benefits of AV1. However, as I said, I now have little idea about the current offers. What is important to me is a pleasant price-performance ratio. Should this be good, I am also willing to pay high prices, despite the fact that I am aware of the current price situation. Budget up to 800€ wouldn't be a problem, higher is possible if recommended. I am curious about your opinions and input! Budget (including currency): $2,000 USD Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Elden Ring, Baldurs Gate 3, Diablo 4, FL Studios Other details: Currently my best friend is running on a 5+ year old machine with a Ryzen 7 2700x 3.7ghz processor, a 1080 ti, and 16gb of RAM. Unfortunately he's running into crashing issues and we can't seem to identify the root. So building a new PC is in the discussion while he finds an alternative for the old machine. That being said, I pulled a list on PC Part Picker of what I would recommend for his budget of $2,000. However I know that sometimes parts work in theory but not in practice, so I wanted to run it by a community to get additional thoughts. I've attached a screenshot of the listed components. Thanks!

So I bought a Power Color Fighter 6700 XT a couple of weeks ago and haven't had the time to install it yet. In the meantime, I've been thinking of returning it and getting an XFX SWFT 6700 XT or maybe the Sapphire Pulse instead. The main reason being noise levels. I was hoping with the three fan longer model, it might be quieter. Does anyone have any experience with any of those models or have any other recommendation for $330 or less for that GPU? Thanks in advance.

Any recommendation for a super cheap mini PC that works well enough with Hackintosh? And yes, I expect used stuff, and I'm open to just parts themselves (i.e. no SSD, RAM, etc.), or any good deals out there. I just want something that performs better than a 2014 8GB Mac Mini without breaking bank.

Hello, I am planning to get a new laptop for web development work. I’ve been a Windows laptop user for all my life but I want to dip my foot into Apple laptop and see what’s up. I’ve seen reviews and just the battery life alone intrigues me. I have a budget around $1800-$1950(USD). Here’s some context, where I am situated these are some of the options that I am wanting to get. These are all brand new prices Macbook Pro 14” M1 Pro base model = 1750$ Macbook Pro 14” M1 Pro (10c-16c, 1TB SSD, 16gb RAM) = 1820$ Macbook Pro 14” M2 Pro base model = 1920$ Personally I would love to get the upgraded M1 Pro with 1TB of storage. The SSD of both base and updated model is faster than the M2 by quite a lot and with the bigger capacity I can use the device for longer without having to store data outside via external means. However, I am not sure how that battery would hold up even though it is brand new from 2021. Is the battery degrade overtime inside the sealed box? I am curious to know how other people’s 2021 Macbook Pro 14” are holding up, especially the battery. What do you think of those 3 options? Which one should I get? Thanks in advance and have a great day!

nas What are the best NAS drives at the moment?
Pyroven posted a topic in Servers, NAS, and Home Lab
Or rather, what are at least good? I've been unable to find a simple answer to this question by googling, I only know that WD Reds have had a few fiascoes recently and I want to avoid them. If I'm looking for a NAS drive, are there any other brands/products lines to avoid? Are Seagate Exos or Ironwolfs good? Anything to beware to avoid in those lineups?- 10 replies

I am looking for keyboard recommendation! I am not keyboard geek so pls forgive my ignorance concerning terminology and the like. I like the key profile of the compaq keyboard shown in the attached pic. I like the feeling of a Dell Latitude 2120 keyboard's keys. I want RGB. I would like standard media keys somewhere (play/pause, next, previous, volume up down mute, etc.) whether on function keys or separate. I am used to size keyboard from Dell Latitude 3160 to standard odm dell keyboard. I prefer not to spend a whole lot – preferably under $40-50. Must have numpad with numlock, function keys, and arrow keys in normal position. Also I'd prefer a little bit smaller than normal size (referrig to the compaq and dell key oard as normal here). Thanks in advance!
