Anyone got any sources on how to obtain firmware for AVR's that Denon now deem a legacy product? Have an AVR-X2000 I picked up cheap a year and a half ago that had no HDMI output and just the other day I bought a second one that had a dead amplifier circuitry and I switched the board with the HDMI switching from this new one into my existing one which worked no bother. Unfortunately, that board also has the main processor and firmware chip on it too and its not been updated to support Spotify connect like I had done with my one. And it now refuses to update since Denon have now marked this unit as legacy since June last year according to the entirely useless Denon customer support person who also seems unable to send me the firmware directly. So now I'm torn, cause I use the Spotify connect feature more than I ever actually use the video output of the thing, but it then makes my entire purchase of the second reciever a massive waste of time and money. I also probably could locate the ROM chip on my old board and switch it to the new one, but I don't have the equiptment or skills to be able to pull off such a procedure without entirely destroying everything... It's just frustrating casue these have the ability to be updated "locally" via the web gui as far as I'm aware, and failing that, there is a USB port on the front wired up for data and I'm led to believe It can be used for updating, but Denon just seem to refuse access to the firmware. Anyway, I'd greatly appreciate it if anyone has any suggestions.

I was just gifted a Pyle PD3000BA Pre-Amp. I have an old set of 240watt audio/video monitors(I have no clue what that actually means) they have one large(maybe 12-16 inch) speaker, and two smaller speakers in each enclosure. They have the typical speaker wire clamp connections on the back, as well as 2 connections that would fit a cord from a guitar or microphone. I believe I will need to purchase an amp to make it all work together, but I am still clueless on how to set it up. It appears that the optical cable plug on the preamp is an output only. So I would have to use an aux to rca adapter to get the input from my tv. Then hook up an amp to the speaker output from the preamp, then from the amplifier to the speakers? I can add pictures tomorrow to help clarify things. I’m honestly not super into audio quality and volume, but I see this as an opportunity to learn a bit about technology that I know nothing about. I also do not have an amp yet and am open to budget suggestions. And any advice or knowledge you can share on speaker wire is greatly appreciated.

Been on the search for a way to send my SM7B mic to my iPhone over Bluetooth so I can take calls without taking my CIEMs out and physically putting my Phone up to my head, and or switching to a Bluetooth headset. Essentially the device would need a mono input and a mono output (but it would be awesome if the output was stereo), where the input is sent back to the phone as if it were the input on a Bluetooth headset and the output was sent back to my interface / mixer so I could hear the calls at the very least. Would be most preferable if the device, like any headset, auto switched to headset mode so I could use the device as a standard Bluetooth adapter to listen to music and such until I take a call. Though I'm really not getting my hopes up on that last part. The only device I've been able to find with even a similar feature set is the JK Audio BlueDriver-M3, but there are some major caveats. The device was manufactured over a decade ago, uses Bluetooth 2.0, has a mono output, requires external power for continuous use despite using an XLR connection (why doesn't it convert phantom power??), has a physical switch for headset mode (my interface isn't at arms reach, it's in a rack 6 feet away under my desk), and costs $200. I'd think that someone out there would be making something like this that isn't 10 years old with Bluetooth 4.0 / 5.0, but I can't seem to find it. All it would need to be is a Bluetooth receiver / transmitter that can act as a headset with a line in and a line out, seems weird that I can't find anything other than this JK Audio BlueDriver-M3.

I have this old, yet powerful reciever. I dont know much about home theater setup. I just know that my current lower end sony bookshelf speakers are being overpowered by my POLK psw 10 subwoofer. The sony bookshelves get loud, but sound isn't very sharp. My budget is 150 dollars max for a pair of bookshelves. I'm considering the klipsch R 41ms and the sony sscs5 would any of these work with my old reciever? Would they sound good with my Polk psw 10 subwoofer? They would be used in a small room.

Hello, In my living room I have a 7.1Onkyo home theater system and last night the reciever decided to give out on me and not produce any sound. I have access to a pioneer vsx-521 reciever for pretty cheap with speakers. Now it doesn't get used a whole lot upstairs so I was wondering if I used it for my pc would it be worth it. It would be hooked up with HDMI in and HDMI out and would through that HDMI it would carry audio and video if my GPU supports it. My question is would I recieve a noticeable amount of input lag and would the quality be worth it? Also my monitor does 144hz so it would be nice to be able to continue using it. Mother board: z97 gaming 5 Memory: 8gb ddr3 1600 GPU: Radeon HD 7870 ghz edition Cpu: i5 4690k oc'd to 4.2

I've got an old set of speakers that I want to connect to my PC. They use 5 way binding posts so clearly I can't just plug them in. Is there a sound card that will let me use them or do I have to use a receiver? If I have to use a receiver is it possible to find one that goes in a 5.25" drive bay? The speakers in question are KEF HTS 2001.3 Satellites. Thanks in advance!

Good afternoon everyone, I've been having a strange issue for the past couple weeks with my audio driver, and I haven't been able to find a good solution. The problem is this: when playing a game, my audio output will occasionally "switch" on its own, making the game crash and the sound temporarily stop working. It doesn't always happen, but when it does, it'll switch from, say, "Samsung-8" to "Samsung-0". When this happens, I have to open the sound playback, and manually set the new one to default. I have my audio running out of my GPU via HDMI into a receiver, which then runs the video to my TV. When this switch or whatever happens, the video will stay unaffected, save for the game crashing.I've tried reinstalling the drivers to no avail, and I don't want to switch to using optical out, as the sound quality isn't as good. My specs are: i7 5820k MSI X99-A SLI Plus 2x MSI 970's in SLI (the problem started before I added the second GPU) 4x4gb Corsair DDR4 Vengence 250gb Samsung 840evo 1tb Seagate Barracuda 3tb Seagate Barracuda Carsair HX1050 PSU Thanks for the help in advance, Ya'll are the best.

Hi all, I have a NAD T753 (I know, kinda old), and IR control no longer works. I know the remote works fine, since I still use it for controlling my TV and Xbox. I know the back of the NAD system has an "IR in" port, so here are my questions. Would just plugging in a new receiver (something like this) maybe fix the problem? Does just plugging that in have a chance at solving my problem? If so, are all receivers created equal? Does this remote operate on a different frequency and I have to get a special receiver? I'm not very well versed in this, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Community! I'm on the market for a nice pair of bookshelf speakers with the best bang for your buck and a appropriate receiver. I'm a novice when it comes to this topic and wanted to pick your guy's brain on what i should drop my hard earned money on. This set up will primarily be used for music and a occasional movie here and there. Types of genres that will be played would be EDM, Country, and hip hop. I pretty must started my research doing what any uneducated person would do and it was to search for the "best" speakers and go to the appropriate price range. Based on my research what I found to be the best are: https://www.fluance.com/signature-series-hifi-two-way-bookshelf-surround-sound-speakers https://www.qacoustics.com/bookshelf-speakers/3020i-bookshelf-speaker-pair.html https://www.klipsch.com/products/rp-500m-bookshelf-speaker https://www.jbl.com/loudspeakers/STUDIO+230.html?dwvar_STUDIO%20230_color=Black-GLOBAL-Current&cgid=loudspeakers#start=1 https://www.htd.com/Level-THREE-Bookshelf-Speakers Let me know what you would recommend based on these 5 speakers. I am also to floor standing as well and they would be of the same brand/series as the bookshelf.

Hello, my Uncle gave me four Cerwin-Vega VS-120 speakers. I decided that I would set up a second home theater in my basement. I ran speaker wire, and have them all running off of a Yamaha RX-V773 reciever. I haven’t been able to get any audio, not even static! I checked the fuses on all of the speakers and they are all good. I’m not very well versed in this stuff, if anyone has any suggestions I would be appreciative, thanks!

Hey all, I have been commissioned by my Father to completely re-do our home audio. Currently, we have an old Yamaha Audio Receiver (forgot the model) hooked up to 6 speakers built in to the wall. The wiring is Class 2 wiring. What my Dad wants to do is be able to connect wirelessly. This by itself would have been easy, all I would have had to do is put in an adapter. But what he wants to do is have speakers outside and when he changes the song inside on his phone via bluetooth, it changes outside aswell. I am a little lost as in how to do this. The speakers outside would be bluetooth. I was looking at this: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B075J4RKGH/ref=twister_B075N7RDQX?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 I'm not sure if that would do it, so my question is, how can I do this and what should I use to do it. Price isn't really an issue but try to keep it below $1000. Thanks!

Hi, First off I'm new... so don't just laugh at my problem. I recently have begun a project to construct the most complicated model rocket ever. While the sanity of this idea is still in question, I have gone ahead with rough planning and have hit a bit of a snag. I know these forums are not for model rocketry, but the problem I have hit, is. I need a mini camera that has a wireless transmitter (add-on/built-in doesn't matter) that can either be received, or the received signal converted to, USB. And, I need to use it as a video capture device on OBS Studio. Just for a bit of context, this will be used to live stream footage from the rocket to our youtube channel. Any and all help is appreciated. -Adiony

Hey there so Ive been browsing around the web with the idea of getting a decent Stereo setup which i plan to add to (like getting a sub). To no luck on finding what i need I thought Id ask here as this is the best place For me that provides advice. My Budget is £250 for the speakers and amp, I want to play music (ideally sounding good in all genres, like a middle-ground), watch yt and film, add an extra dimension of immersion to my games and usefull for Video editing and i may do music production later though thats not a priority at ALL (the last 2 points are my Focus). as for the Amp Im clueless as to what would drive my speakers (I was thinking about wharfdale diamond 9.1's) and if an a/v reciever would be useful instead as i could do 5.1 later and have my PC and other media devices run through it. Thanks

My friend has an a4tech G11 Wireless mouse, the mouse is still fine, but he lost the reciever. Is there any fix for this?? Can we just install some kind of software to a flash drive and just make that the receiver? Thanks for those who will help in advance.

So I was thinking about ways to clean up or minimize the cable clutter on my desk, and I had a pretty weird idea. Can you buy something like a set including a micro USB dongle and a USB dongle that communicate with each other via 2.4GHz RF or Bluetooth? If something like that existed could I remove the micro-USB to USB cable from my keyboard, plug the micro-USB dongle into my keyboard, the USB dongle into my PC, and have the two dongles communicate with each other in such a way that the keystrokes from my keyboard are transmitted from my keyboard to the micro-USB dongle to the USB dongle to my PC, replacing the cable with a wireless connection; effectively making my keyboard wireless? Is this even possible and if so where can I get some of these dongles? This might not make any sense but I just wanted to ask whether this was possible, thanks in advance. EDIT: Ok, maybe this is a better way of explaining it. Instead of this: Keyboard -> Micro-USB to USB cable -> PC Can I do this: Keyboard -> Micro-USB Bluetooth dongle thing connected to keyboard -> USB Bluetooth dongle thing connected to PC -> PC?

Hello guys, my parents got a Samsung SMT C7200 Reciever on which they record some TV shows. Now they want to save these to a USB Harddrive or something similar. The reciever does not support this, so i want to connect it to my PC via HDMI and than record the signal that passes through my PC. Is this possible? I´ve got a GTX 770 Direct CUII and an Intel 2500K on an Asrock Z77 Extreme 4m Board. Thanks in advance and merry X-Mas!

Hey everyone. Well, my TV from 2007 has bitten the bullet as to say, and I'm thinking about getting a new one. (While a bit sad, allows me to upgrade to a 1080p TV, no more 1680x1050) Along with it, I want to get a blu-ray player. More specifically this one: Sony BDPS1500. The only downside is the outputs. It has HDMI, but it also has a Coaxial audio output. What I want to know. Is it possible to adapt the Coaxial to RCA (Audio only) for use with my Logitech Z506 Surround Speakers? If so, Can I use a cable or do I have to buy an adapter of some sort? I know I can buy an A/V receiver, input the HDMI and split the audio off that way, but that would result in extra cost, which I'm want to avoid if possible. Any help would be appreciative. If you find a solution, please link it as I saw some, but did not know if it would work or not. Thanks!
