HP Pavilion Gaming - 15-Ec0101ax Currently had my ram installed in secondary slot with 5.9gb available. So bought a compatible ram and installed it in the primary slot. Now the entire new ram is shown as reserved memory. Stats are 10.1gb reserved ram and 5.9gb available. So now I tried to install the new ram in the secondary slot alone and I see 5.3 blinks on capslock and no boot screen. Even tried moving old ram to primary, facing same 5.3 blinks. Tried all possible configurations but only where the old ram is in secondary slot is booting up without throwing the blank screen with 5.3 blinks Any help? Extra context for the laptop if any relevancy:

Hello everyone, some time ago I received an Area 51m laptop. Unfortunately, it only has 2x4GB DDR4 2666MHz RAM installed. I would like to upgrade to 16GB, but the memory is running at only 2400MHz. Is it possible to install faster RAM in this laptop or is the RAM speed locked by DELL? What RAM speed should I buy? I'd also be fine with removing the old RAM-Sticks if necessary. CPU: i7-9700 GPU: RTX2080 SSD: 256GB m.2 Thanks in advance!

Upgrading ram in Lenovo Legion Y720-15IKB
ChuckPunk posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Greetings I'm looking to upgrade the ram in my laptop (https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/legion-series/legion-y720-15ikb/solutions/pd104829-product-overview-lenovo-legion-y720-15ikb), and I honestly don't know enough to be sure I'm getting the right thing. I've currently got 8GB, I'm looking at 32GB. (it's only about 10 euro more to get that instead of 16.) I'm looking at this; Translated; 'Non-buffered, non-ECC'. As far as I can see it's identical to the ram on Crucials list of 'compatible memory' here; https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/lenovo/legion-y720-15ikb#MEMORYFilters (But, I don't know what I don't know, so ) Bonus question (because it belongs in a different sub-forum but it seemed silly to spam with 2 different threads); I have an SSD, and I'm also looking to up the storage, but can't really figure out whether there's an extra slot inside or not, and if there is, what I can put there. I'd really prefer not to have to swap out the SSD. Pointers would really be appreciated -
Howdy, i currently have 16 GB KLEVV CRAS X RGB 3200 (KD48GU880-32A160X) installed. I'm looking to upgrade/expand to 32 GB in the near future, and have two questions: 1) Would it be better to simply add another 16 GB KLEVV kit, or replace the current RAM with a 32 GB kit? 2) If i buy a 32 GB kit would i be able to add it to the current 16 GB for a total of 48 GB RAM? If i can expand to 48 GB then i'd match brand and speed, but if replacing the RAM then i'd go for the best price (and maybe something with a lower profile) My budget is ~US$ 230 (the local price of 32 GB KLEVV CRAS X RGB 3200; KD4AGU880-32A160X)

Hello, Today i wanna to upgrade an old PC with 2 sticks with both 4 GB of ram (the stick are from the same brand and the same type), But when I place the new sticks in the slots. The PC wont get past the loading screen of the motherboard and I can't even get into the BIOS. When I place the sticks in slot DIMM 3 and 4 i can get into the BIOS. But DIMM 3 and 4 are not the right slots for the RAM i think. But when I place the RAM in DIMM 3 and 4 I can get into the BIOS. After that I wanna to get in to Windows 10, then I see the screen with automatic repair for a while, and then I get an blue screen. Please can somebody help me i really need to fix this PC. The motherboard is: MSIP55-CS53 And the RAM is: Kingston KVR16N11S8K2/8

Can I Add a 1Rx16 RAM Module to the existing 1Rx8 RAM Module. 2. Which is Better : Upgrading to 24GB 2400Mhz or Upgrading to 16GB 3200Mhz(Both in Dual Channel) 3. Whatever the answer of Question 2, which Rank shall I use?

Hi, Here is my PC specs: Mobo: GigaByte Z270X Ultra Gaming RAM: 2*8GB GSKILL Ripjaw V 3000 Chip: Intel i5-6600 Since it has been 4 years since I built my PC and I want to upgrade from 16GB to 32GB. I use it for gaming and video editing. Since I have four slots and mobo supports up to 64GB, I have a small conundrum. 1. Should I just do direct replacement 2*8GB 3000 with 2*16GB 3200? 2. Or should I keep the 2*8GB 3000 (slots 2&4) and add 2*16GB 3200 (slots 1&3) to the other two empty slots? 3. Or should I just buy 1*32GB 3600 and go with single channel? (this is slightly expensive but I would be okay to go for it if there will be significant improvement) I have been reading about mixing up RAM modules and mostly I heard it is okay but you should not overclock it. And mostly it would take up the lower speed (in my case 3000) and go with it. Which of the three options to go for? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi, I am new here and this seemed the most reasonable place to post this. I have Asus FX553VD that I've owned since December 2017. The specs for the laptop are intel i7-7700, with 8 GB ram and an Nvidia GTX 1050 mobile. I didn't know much about cpu or GPU overclocking or underclocking to improve performance or temps. Recently I got into PC building and other such related things. I noticed that my laptop was heating up a lot while I play games and it doesn't give enough performance on newer games and even has random FPS drops throughout playing. Because of this, I've decided to upgrade my laptop ram and reapply the thermal paste. Since I live in a desert like environment, I would also like to clean my laptop out as I've heard it would improve temps. I need advice regarding how to clean the heatsink and the fan, as I live in India and compressed air cans are expensive for me. I also want to know of any software that would be able to help me with finding compatible ram. And finally, I've decided to add an SSD to the laptop as I've seen a couple videos where it's shown that this model has an m.2 slot, so any help with a decent 500 gigs SSD would also be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Hello Friends, I have a Lenovo 330-15IKB (Type 81DE) Laptop (ideapad). Specifications are: Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-8250U CPU @ 1.60GHz 1.80 GHz Installed RAM: SK Hynix 4.00 GB DDR4 2133 MHz SODIMM (soldered) Graphics: Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 2 GB Laptop Usage: Educational, Office Use and some basic statistical programming. No gaming. I want to upgrade RAM. My question is can I use a RAM of higher MHz? On Amazon India, I found 4 GB DDR4 2666 MHz RAM from Crucial. (Link). Can I use it without problems? Also, is another 4 GB RAM sufficient or do I need 8 GB more? Which combination is better = 4 GB 2133 MHz + 4 GB 2666 MHz or 4 GB 2133 MHz + 8 GB 2666 MHz ? Which brand/company 's RAM offers best quality and lowest price? I don't want fancy gaming level hardware. Only efficient hardware. I live in Maharashtra, India. I want to purchase original factory made fresh product only. Which sellers on Amazon India ship original fresh RAM without any defects ? Do local computer stores in Maharashtra sell genuine products or duplicate, old products ? (If you have personal experience, please share) How to identify if a RAM that is offered for sale is fresh piece or second hand ? Finally, can you send me some direct links of Amazon India genuine, factory made, fresh piece RAM products (and their sellers) that fulfill my requirements (based on your knowledge and experience) ? Thanks in advance for your guidance.

So my friend is having a HP Pavilion gaming laptop (15-ec0101AX) which has Ryzen 5-3550H | GTX 1650 4GB | 1TB HDD | 8GB DDR4-2400mHz RAM... Now he wants to upgrade his RAM but he doesn't know what company RAM that is so if anyone knows about this please reply me... Or is it fine to install a RAM with 8GB DDR4-2400mHz from other companies and will it work fine? In this should I take CAS latency and first-word latency to be matched too? [I don't know what they mean but I know they are numbers related to nanoseconds ]

Hello, I recently upgraded my RAM in my Acer Nitro 5 NH.Q96ED.004 to HyperX 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 2666MHz CL15 SO-DIMM Impact. From what I could read this is the correct RAM for my computer, However, since upgrading, I have had regular blue screen of death on startup (BSOD). They seem to happen only after the computer has been powered off for a longer period (after charging overnight). I can't trigger the fault just by restarting the computer. Immediately after upgrading the BSOD's were not as frequent, and they have become worse over time. After a week or so of problems I tried swapping the slots, which got rid of the problems for around a week. But then they appeared again and are getting worse. I have also tried Windows own memory diagnostics tool, with no faults. Since I have little knowledge of how this topic, I want to know what can cause this issue. Compatibility with my computer? Faulty RAM? Software issue? These are the different faults I'm getting, some of them more than once: IRQL Not less or equal Kernel security check failure System thread exception not handeled System service exception Page fault in nonpaged area (what failed: WUDFRd.sys) I hope someone can help me with this, or at least lead me in the right direction. Thank you in advance!

I have 4 RAMs of 2x16gb G.Skill Ripjaws V F4-3600C18D-32GVK and 2x8gb G.Skill Ripjaws V F4-3600C18S-8GVK. When I test individually and in pairs, there is no problem and they all work fine, but when I plug all 4 of them at the same time, the D-RAM light on the motherboard keeps flashing and the computer doesn't boot until I press the reset button. After a reset, the computer boots normally. Every time I turn on the computer for the first time, this procedure repeats. I tried this solution from asus site: but it didn't solve my problem. One detail that caught my attention is that 16Gx2 is written on the back of 16GB sticks, but on 8GB sticks it's 8Gx1. also 18D and 18S might be telling that they are double/single channel. I thought this wouldn't change anything since all other features are the same, but I wanted to point it out anyway. What else can I do to be able to use all my RAMs at the same time?

Alright so when I bought my pc I purchased a Team T-Force 3000MHz ddr4 8GB kit (2x4GB). I recently ran into an issue where I was consuming a lot of memory due to having multiple applications open such as chrome, video games, autodesk applications (fusion 360, formit, 3dsmax etc) and adobe products (photoshop, afx etc). So rather than letting my pc commit sudoku I decided I would look into a ram upgrade (something I have been thinking of doing for a while now). My dilemma is that I was going to buy another kit as the same one I currently have (the 2x4gb kit) but I believe the product to be discontinued or at least unavailable in australia right now. I think my options are as follows: 1. Just purchase a 2x8 kit and sell my current one 2. Buy a 2x8 kit which was in the same series/brand? Would this work? It was my belief that doing this can be unstable but I am not sure whether thats correct. 3. Purchase a different brand 2x4gb kit and cross my fingers that it works 4. Another solution which I havent thought of Motherboard: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/z370-a-pro Current RAM: https://www.teamgroupinc.com/en/product/dark-ddr4 (2x4gb 3000MHz)

Soldering more RAM slots to a motherboard
BTWonline posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
I have an old Dell Vostro 220S that I got from my dads work. It has an Core 2 Quad Q8400 and 3GB of DDR2 (one of the 2GB sticks I used to upgrade with was broken so I had to use the old 1GB stick) with an GT640 3GB. I just want to mess around with it and I wondered if it would be possibe to solder on 2 extra ram slots. There are traces on the board but the slots have not been soldered in, so I thought that it would be possible to install more slots. Has anyone tried this? 3GB is not usable in newer games and my laptop with a 1060 died. So I need someting in the mean time while I wait for the laptop to get back from repair. -
Hi guys I have an i5-7400 paired with a Gtx 1050 Ti , and 8 Gb of DDR4 2400Mhz RAM, I am planning on buying a 16 GB of DDR4 3200Mhz RAM for my current computer but I dont know whether this RAM will support my current PC or not and If it supports will there be any problem with my existing PC hardware because after this pandemic I will be building a Ryzen 5 3600X machine where I can utilize this "16GB of 3200Mhz RAM" afterwards Is it worth buying ? Will my PC support? I'm in desperate requirement of extra RAM I use software like video editing software and photo editing software like after effects, premier pro,Photoshop, blender etc Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H110M-S2 Socket LGA 1151 Motherboard Thank you before hand for your answers

hi. I'm looking to add ram to my laptop. I've looked everywhere and apparently it is upgradeable however to what I don't really know. it appears to have 2 slots. only 1 is in use. it currently has a single 4gb ram. can I just use any ram chips? does it have to be ddr3L ? can i use ddr4? I did a search found a company and they had everything compatible but completely sold out... and some had hugely varied prices. would I be better to bin it and buy a new one or buy the ram? i mean its 5 years old but runs fine. just can't do anything intense ie gaming. it's a Toshiba Satellite C55-C-175. much thanks. Josh.

I currently have a Lenovo IdeaPad 700 coming in the mail. Main uses will be gaming and photo/video editing (some 4K). Specs are: i7-6700HQ Nvidia GTX 950M 4GB GDDR3 12GB DDR4 2133MHz 256GB M.2 SSD + 500GB 2.5" SSD 15" 1080p IPS display I'm wondering if upgrading the memory to 16GB DDR4 2400MHz (Kingston HyperX Impact) will improve performance much. Hoping there's someone who has installed and tested the different memory speeds on a laptop that can comment. Currently play GTA V and Battlefield 1 and use Lightroom 6 for RAW photo editing. Thanks! Note: I'm aware Dell has their new 7567 gaming laptop with i5-7300, GTX 1050 and 1TB HDD for the exact price I paid for mine without the extra 500GB SSD. The lack of an IPS display, the red case accents and my prior experience will Dell made me purchase the Lenovo.

I am looking to not only upgrade the 2gb stick to a 4gb but increase both (replace them) to a higher speed. The CPU is only compatible with 1066Mhz and 1333Mhz, according to ARK (intel). Is this possible? This is the ram I am looking at purchasing: Anything helps, please let me know asap, Thanks ~Phred7 Attached are the system details by CPU-Z Inspiron 15R N5110.txt- 2 replies

Hey guys, I have a Dell optiplex Mini tower 3020, I bought it from my friend for £160 here in U.K, it has an i5 4570 clocked at the stock 3.20Ghz speed, no dedicated GPU, 500 Gb 7200 rpm hard drive with windows 10 pro, a single module 1600 Mhz DDR3 ram stick. I was thinking of going crazy and take a risk and possibly get a higher reward. So as we all know, or who don't know, the dell optiplex 3020 MT has a 290W psu by dell, which makes it unable to put in powerful graphics cards in it, however I was thinking of replacing it with a Corsair CP-9020097-UK VS Series ATX/EPS 80 PLUS Power Supply Unit, 550 W, which am not sure if it will fit the mini tower, if it does I will be making use of a 24 to 8 pin mother board connecter to attach the power supply to the motherboard. If it does I would want to add a great cpu called the gtx 670 from evga the FTW edition with 2GB GDDR5 memory it is a 10 inch long card and I dont know if it will fit in my case, further more I will be adding a 60 gb ssd with the brackets bought for del optiplex, another 4 gb ram stick. The main questions are: Will the chosen power supply fit as replacement for the dell 290 W power supply? Withh the Evga GTX 670 FTW fit in the Dell optiplex 3020?
