Hey folks! I am wanting to SLI a asus poseidon 1080 ti on a maximus IX extreme. Does anyone know or can guesstimate the slot width size of bridge I'd have to pick up? I am having a hard time finding any documentation on this. I also attempted to ask ASUS customer support, but they were no help whatsoever.

I was wondering how I should set up my fans in my Evolv Atx TG, I have access to 4 Noctua NF-F12 and the 3 140mm fans that came with the case. I am only using aircoolers atm but I will be getting a custom loop somewhere between now (27/9 2017) and christmas. What would be the optimal way to set up my fans so my gpu gets sufficient airflow. The temps on my 1080 ti are a little to high for my liking and even with a ambient temp that is ca 17c i still hit 85-90c if the temp limit is at 90c. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I'll make this brief. Here's my PC setup: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mt6BVY Now the question... Which aftermarket variant of the 1080ti should I go for? Here are my two competitors: ASUS 1080ti STRIX OC Edition: https://www.asus.com/us/ROG-Republic-Of-Gamers/ROG-STRIX-GTX1080TI-O11G-GAMING/ ASUS 1080ti Poseidon: https://www.asus.com/us/Graphics-Cards/ROG-POSEIDON-GTX1080TI-P11G-GAMING/ I WILL BEGIN WITH A WATER COOLED CPU AND AN AIR COOLED GPU. I would like to upgrade to a custom water loop someday, but who knows when that will actually happen? Any advice or opinions (either general or specific) would be appreciated. Any facts you feel I should know, please tell me. This is my first top tier PC build. I've done my research, now I just need a GPU. NOTE: I have the s340 Elite as my PC case. I own it and I plan to use it.

Hey guys, I'm in the planning stage of a new build. I really want to get a 1080Ti card and I want to water cool my graphics card too. I was wondering if you all could help me in comparing these 2 1080Ti Cards: MSI GeForce GTX 1080Ti Sea Hawk EK X ASUS ROG Poseidon GeForce GTX 1080Ti I haven't really found a good comparison tool for these 2 specific cards and most videos that compare 1080Tis are focused on the air cooled ones. This is the closest thing I've seen to a comparison between these 2 specific cards (and I know some of the information is off): https://www.newegg.com/Product/Productcompare.aspx?CompareItemList=-1|14-126-202^14-126-202%2C14-137-144^14-137-144 I want to have my card vertically displayed as well, and I really like the aesthetics of the EK Waterblock on the Sea Hawk, but I don't want to rule out the Poseidon just because of those aesthetics. I really want to run this system on water the whole time, but I see that with the Poseidon you can run the water and the air cooling at the same time and drop temps even further. So really I guess what I'm asking in this post is performance-wise, which would be better? PS. I chose these 2 cards specifically because (although I've seen several really cool builds where people get cards like the STRIX and put a water block on it) I really don't want to void warranties, esp. since this will be my first time liquid cooling a graphics card. Thanks everyone!

My 1080 ti Poseidon from Asus is running much hotter and louder than it should. I sent it back and they said there was no problem with it. In my testing, open air sub-20C ambient it reaches up to the temp limit of 84C while running at 80-90% fan speed (LOUD) According to the place where i bought it they got 72C and said you barely heard the card. What could cause this? I have tried different PCIe slots and a different PCIe powercable and connector on my Corsair RM850. My temps and fan speed were monitored using GPU Tweak 2 and HWMonitor. I need help ASAP. Thanks in advance Edit: Im on air, havent gotten my watercooling stuff yet FIXED: The cards fucking cooler isn't screwed in properly... Putting a little pressure on the cooler towards the pcb drops temps and fan speed dow to the right levels

That's it, as the title says. I bought it 2.5 years ago and yet I seemed to be the luckiest one here, because it survived more than 2 month. Several month ago some switches started to double-type, there was like 3-4 of them, so I just resoldered them. But now every third switch is double-typing or is not responding at all Idk how could you use cherry mx switches and make kb fail so hard. P.S. leopold fc750r is on the way now.

Hail and Well Met! I'm seeking help with my ASUS ROG Poseidon GTX 780 card, which around 2 months ago started randomly stopping 1 of its 2 fans and then ca. 3 second later it spins up again as normal. During the standstill of that 1 fan, the other one spins up to compensate i guess, which is annoyingly loud, like an aircraft starting in my room. After it spins normally again, the other fan returns to normal as well and the whole cycle randomly repeats. Funny thing is, it only does this when idling, when put under load, everything is OK. What can I do with it? What might be the cause? I've been googling for the past 2 months with no apparent success whatsoever. I've uploaded a video recording of what's happening, it's not the best angle I know but it's the best I can get with my phone inside the PC :D If it cannot be repaired, do you know anyone who'd be interested in it as a collector's item? I have the box and every paper that came with it, the card itself is from 2017. What replacement card would you suggest if it cannot be repaired or the process is not worth it? My idea was to buy a 1060 6 GB, but honestly I wouldn't wanna get rid of this one if not neccessary. Thanks for your help! video-1552769894.mp4

Hi guys, i got a Bargain for a 980ti Poseidon Platinum, the card works perfectly fine except for the fan header, its dead, theres no visual damage whatsoever, and all the pints check for continuity but they dont give any voltage signs currently im using the card with an Artic Accelero twin Turbo III hooked directly to the PSU the issue is, i want to use the stock cooler because, well its really good and i plan to watercool later, but i need the fans to work since the VRMS are not cooled by the waterblock part of the cooler, right now i have a heatsink i stole from another card hooked with a freaking ziptie, and it somewhat works, i think the previous owner disabled the fans somehow, idk how, but i already reflashed a new bios and the fans still dont spin at all, they do work if hooked directly to power, again the card works fine, and turbos and yadda yadda, i just want to use the stock cooler

Hey guys, I'm having issue with GPU temps on my rig with the following configuration: Masterbox Lite 5 ATX Mid Tower Case MSI Z390 Pro Carbon AC i7 - 8700k (Cooled by Masterliquid Lite 120) Asus 1080Ti Rog Poseidon (air cooled only right now) Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8 C16 3200 MHz Corsair RM 750X 750W So the problem is: My GPU hits 90 C the second it gets under a load, TDP limit kicks in, card performs at 50% of its potential at temps between 85-90 C. I'm using the case open for now (which creates a dust problem, but it's still better). I live in a very hot city (35-40 degrees from time to time) and this is no doubt affecting the performance, but still, I think it shouldn't be this bad. I'm working on a liquid cooling solution. Also, I learned that Masterbox Lite 5 is an absolute hotbox, a little too late. I'm thinking about buying TD500 once I have the funds, along with the liquid cooling solution. But I wanted to ask if there is anything I can do without voiding the warranty until that is done. Thanks in advance! You can see how it looks in the attachment (sorry for the dust and crappy image.)

I've been on a kick customizing my ML08 case because I love the portability. I was hoping for a little more graphics performance and was thinking about cramming a water cooled card in. The problem with the ML08 is there is no place for even a 120mm radiator. However a card like the ROG Poseidon could operate with or without the radiator. I could slap a pump and 360/280 on my desk and implement QD for the water. This way I could overclock at my desk, then tune it back on the go as I won't need full power for gaming on my $60 LAN screen. The Poseidons are crazy expensive costing almost 5x the 1070 I have in there right, but with Turing around the corner... To make it work, I was thinking of mounting the male disconnects with a plate on the chassis with soft tubing back to the card. Bring a fan header off the card to a similar cut out on the back of the case. Then probably provide a 12v off the power supply via a two pin connector. I could then extend the cables for the pump and fans down the tubes. The pump res combo could sit on my desk with my rad hidden under my desk with a big snaking cable sleeved bundle with a pair of tubes, a pwm fan cable, and DC 12v pair of wires running down to my rig.

Hi everyone My first built and already lots of issues... I have Ryzen 7 1700X ROG CROSSHAIR VI HERO (WIFI AC) GTX 1080 TI Poseidon (1 PCIE extender did not reach so I have 2 connected each x16 3.0) 16GB (2x8) DDR4 RAM Corsair Vengeance (compatible with Rryzen checked) Corsair RM1000X SAMSUNG SSD 500GB 2 Radiators with 3 120mm fans each, for separate GPU and CPU cooling 2 pump 2 reservoir so the problem is that pc runs pretty smooth before I start playing Dota 2. During the game, I'm experiencing low fps like 20-40 and in the end, it freezes the screen. sometimes im able to end task from task manager sometimes I have to restart the computer. if I'm lucky enough and I end task from task manager, I'm running nothing and have so much lag just from watching clean desktop. mouse cursor barely moves. once when I restarted pc, it froze while loading windows so far I have installed all the drivers possible, for chipset I downloaded the driver from AMD website. GeForce drivers from GeForce experience. I even updated bios to the latest 3008 version. still no change. bu the other thing is that if I play destiny 2 I have no problems, no issues at all. I tried to run AIDA64 stability tests it sometimes crashed sometimes not crashed but both times I had a hard time moving the cursor, eventually, I had to restart the computer. about to regret choosing Ryzen any help will be much appreciated!

Hey guys, building my very first PC. Here are the parts I am using right now: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/qHVszM At the moment, I plan on getting the Asus 1080 ti Strix OC version. I was wondering if I should wait for the Poseidon. Is it worth it? I do not plan on using custom loops, is the air cooling on the Poseidon any good? Is it better than the strix? How would it fit with the rest of my parts? Aprox release date? Thank you so much guys. Any info is appreciated <3

Hi i have two options to buy a mechanical gaming keyboard at the same price and havent been able to decide all day One is the Corsair gaming strafe with cherry mx brown switches and the other is the tt esports poseidon z rgb with kailh brown switches. The main reason im opting for the poseidon z is the rgb and i dont think i would notice a difference between the kailh and cherry mx switches. So is there a clear reason i should go for the corsair strafe or should i just go for the poseidon z cos the rgb looks cool

Hi guys, I am finally upgrading my GPU from a EVGA 650Ti SSC 2GB to a 980Ti. But I can't choose between two Asus GPU's; the Poseidon and Strix version. The Strix has better performance but if I choose the Poseidon I can watercool it and maybe have a better overclock. Plus I can watercool my whole system in one loop (currently a prebuild NZXT x60 CPU watercooler). So my question is if I should buy the Strix and just have air cooling on my GPU or choose the Poseidon have my entire system watercooled? I know you can buy waterblocks for the Strix but I find that very expensive and I like te ROG look because I also have other ROG components. My system: CPU: i7-4790K OC 4,5 GHz MoBo: Asus Maximus VII Hero RAM: 16GB 2133 MHz Corsair vengeance GPU (current): EVGA 650Ti SSC 2GB CPU cooling (current): NZXT x60 watercooling BTW I had the GPU in another system before I did this build that's why it's so small

Long story short I have 2 half broken 980tis one has extreme coil whine and makes strange noises at idle and I am rmaing to NewEgg. And the other one has one broken fan. I was wondering, is it possible to buy the fan assembly that does on top of the heatsink seperatly? This would fix the problem with the card and prevent me from having to rma this card to Asus. I really don't want to rma this card because it's an excellent overclocked with 78% asic and having to rma to asus takes forever.

So I want to know what to chose between tt esports poseidon z (kailh brown) or quickfire tk (cherry mx brown) ? The reason why I am asking is that the quickfire tk uses cherry so better but not full size and its for 85US$ on newegg, the poseidon z on the other hand uses kail brown, but its full size AND its 72US$ on newegg. So should go with the 72$ kailh or 85$ cherry ????? I heard from people who tried and said kailh feel similar to cherry so its not a big deal choosing kailh, but what do you think ? **I don't really mind the short keyboard I just think a full size one is worth more for the money.**

Hi. I was wondering which of the two cards listed above is the better card overall. I just read 3dguru's review and the poseidon card is about the same performance except the temps but costs a bit more than the amp extreme. Is the extra price worth it? Thank you in advance!

Hello everyone, this is probably my first post. I have been waiting to post something useful. Looking at the notes, it kinda indicate for me that the curved ROg gsync monitor may actually reach 100hz http://www.asus.com/uk/Graphics-Cards/POSEIDON-GTX980TI-P-6GD5/overview/ UPDATE: Guru3d posted a review of it: http://www.guru3d.com/articles-pages/asus-geforce-gtx-980-ti-poseidon-review,1.html

Hi guys, i have a 2 questions. 1- Where can I find the custom VBIOS for the GTX 980 Poseidon? 2- Is there a difference between GTX 980 Poseidon and GTX 980 Matrix Platinum for OC potential? Which is better for OC? (I have a custom water cooling system)

Does anybody know when or if the gtx 980 Poseidon will be in stock?

hello everyone, I want to buy a 970 and later (when I have the money) I want to put a custom water cooling loop in it, so I was looking and I found the poseidon 980 and since there was a poseidon 770 does anyone know if there will be a poseidon 970? thanks in advance! mattisc

So my trusty R9 280X is finally starting to show its age and I once again find myself leafing through countless reviews of what AMD & Nvidia have to offer. So far with AMD being late to the party and allowing Nvidia to release a slew of awesome Maxwell goodness ( 970 vram issues aside ) I find myself looking at the Gtx 980 which sits nicely with my plans to invest in a variable refresh rate monitor later this year. Now that should be job done and I shouldn't need to be writing this thread but unfortunately it's not that simple. See i have wanted to watercool my Gpu for a long time because it just looks bloody awesome and also because I live on an island where the ambient temps in summer can easily exceed 40 degrees Celsius, which as you can imagine makes cooling any sort of performance gear a nightmare. Now I am very aware that one of the main benefits of the maxwell architecture is its low TDP but like I said, i have wanted to watercool my gpu for a long time. So my question is this, if you are definitely going to watercool it is the Asus Gtx 980 Poseidon worth it's price premium when you take into account the cost of buying a water block and watercooling a reference card. All opinions are welcome

Does anybody know when or if new stock will come in for the 980 poseidon?
