So basically, I have recently flashed a tuya smart wall plug and now want to control it with Homebridge over MQTT with the Mqttthing plugin. I also created a Mosquitto MQTT server on an Raspberry Pi 4B, but it just won't work. What's not working is most likely the MQTT server because I can't connect to it with MQTT Explorer. Thank you in advance. Hey everyone, just recently bought a new gaming PC that has already been built. It's my first gaming PC, and also bought a 1000VA UPS (APC brand) for it. The problem that I am facing right now is that my room only has 2 prong outlets. I have an extension that has 3 prongs but the manual for the UPS says that I should directly plug it into a wall outlet instead of an extension. I'm not sure what I need to do to fix this. Would you guys suggest the use of GFCI? Should look something like this PSU>UPS>GFCI If that's not recommended, what other option I can do? If there's no other option, has anyone tried powering their computer like this PSU>UPS>extension>2-prong outlet? TIA!!

My Computer is not turning on, this was happening before but it was fixed by me pressing the hybrid mode feature on the back of the psu but today even if turn and turn off hybrid mode my computer isn't starting. I hear a click ( guessing from the power supply ), but the pc doesnt start. Any idea what this could be? Update // I plugged in my monitor aswell and its not working, I'm guessing this has to do with my power outlets inside my house; but I'm not sure as ive tried multiple power outlets My phone charger is working with the outlets though Update // Pc turned on, This is happening every morning and it randomly decides to fix itself after a while.

Does anyone know what that outlet in the photo is for? I'm hoping it has something to do with Ethernet as I'm current trying to figure out how to get an Ethernet wire to my pc

So these past few days the power in my house has been really weird. It started a couple days ago when I was downloading updates on my computer, my dad was using his laptop, had the TV on, and using the internet all at the same time. Suddenly, all of these things just randomly shut off (my dad's laptop stopped charging). This also caused our little toaster oven to turn off too. My dad's explanation was that all of the outlets that we use for these things are all part of the same circuit, and that it overheated since so many things were using power from those outlets. It was near bedtime anyway, so we just let it sit overnight. The next day, we reset the circuit (there's a little reset switch in the middle of the main outlet), and everything came back to normal. Since it was working again, I let my computer run while I was at school to finish downloading updates. Later when I got home, the same situation: router, PC, TV, and toaster were all off. So I went back to the main outlet and hit the reset button. It worked, but about 20 minutes later everything shut off again. I have let the circuit sit for about half an hour every time it tripped in case it did overheat. Whenever the power shut off, it was all while I was using my computer downloading updates or just on the desktop. Whenever these things did shut off, everything else in the house was fine. I've been using my laptop now for the past 3 hours using internet without any issues. I'm starting to think something is going on with my computer, especially since nothing like this has happened before. I did reset my PC a week ago due to OS problems but I don't see how that could cause it, unless it's a PSU problem. Please help. Build Info: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/QNgwjc

I've had my playstation 3 slim over 2 to 3 years and I've always had the same tv-setup. Recently I get a short-circuit/electrical breakdown whenever the ps3 is plugged into the outlet. Does any one know what my problem is?

Hello, I'm not sure if anyone can help but recently my gfci outlet tripped and after reseting it several times, found it to be my monitor that trips it. Every time. The thing is, I live in an RV, so its not like capable of alot of power I think. I'm not an electrician. I took my monitor to a friend's house and it worked just fine. I went and bought a spare power cable just to see if it was the cable, but no. When I plugged in the monitor back at my RV it tripped again. I tried both cables too. But it's wierd how litterally nothing else trips it, even with my insane pc running. And it worked perfectly fine at my friend's house. I think it is the monitor itself but was seeing if anyone else has had this happen, and if there is a fix. I only have one monitor. And I kinda need it for school, because I take online classes. I don't want to spend a whole lotta money on a new one just yet. If anyone needs any extra info, I have a video explaining it all.

So my GPU used to make a noise under heavy tasks (not during gaming but for things like real time rendering visualization), upon watching some videos I found out it was called coil whine but I didn't mind it. Well something interesting happened today, an electrician came to my house to fix a couple things and he noticed my outlet wasn't properly grounded, he went ahead to fix it. Out of curiosity, I went to check for the annoying noise... the coil whine was completely gone, I ran other benchmarks just to make sure... IT WAS GONE Just putting this out there in case someone has the same problem

I thought some of you might be interested in my experience of buying a laptop from the Lenovo Outlet. The Outlet offers some head-turning deals on new hardware that was built to spec, and then never shipped due to a canceled order (or other buyer related issue). These are completely new systems, not refurbished and not scratch & dent (though the outlet does offer those as well). What I bought: Lenovo X1 Carbon 6th gen 16gb Ram, 256gb storage (installing my own larger and faster SSD later), and the 2k HDR glossy screen. What it cost: I paid about $1,250 with tax. The computer would normally be just over $2,000 with tax (though they usually have some kind of small discount running which would bring the cost down to around $1,800). This means I saved anywhere from $600 to $800. Order process: Very straightforward, no hiccups. Tip: On the main search pages for the outlet, not all of the spec details are listed. It will tell you the ram, storage, and cpu info, but not the screen information. To see that, just click the "Shop now" button next to a listing you're interested in, and on the next page click "view models." That will show you all of the info about the build. Customer Service: The product was marked to ship in 1-3 days. On my order page, it listed it with an estimated ship date that was over 10 days away. I reached out to their live chat service on Lenovo's main site, and their reps explained that this was a temporary placeholder until the order moved through to the next stage. They said that once their security team had approved the order, the page would be updated. This was correct. The next day my page was updated with a new shipping date only 1 day away. Their staff was was quick to respond, accurate, and friendly. You could tell some of it was part of a script, but frankly, they answered my question and had me on my way in just a couple minutes. Very happy with it. Shipping: I am really impressed. I ordered on Sunday night at 11pm. I received it on Thursday at 5pm. The site advertised 1-3 days to process it, plus another 3-5 for actual shipping. Mine arrived in 4 days, the shortest possible amount of time as advertised. Product & Packaging The laptop arrive in a simple box rather than the all black presentation-style box that you would get if you bought this at their normal store. However, everything was included and secure. I personally don't care about the unboxing experience (especially not for $600-$800 cheaper), so it doesn't bother me. The laptop is brand new and was exactly as ordered. I have read some reviews about quality control with the keyboard on this model, and I didn't have any issue with it. Mine is perfect. Final Thoughts: All in all, I am really impressed with the entire experience, and I feel like I got an amazing deal. If you are in the market for a Lenovo, check their outlet out first. Some of the deals are incredible, and you can save a lot of money. Here is a link to where I shopped, in case you're interested: https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/outletus/laptops/c/LAPTOPS

Hi! My house is not grounded, just like almost all of the houses where I live. So all my outlets are just two prong outlets. My current setup includes an extension cord that claims to have surge protection plugged directly into the wall outlet (Philippines 220V 60Hz), and plugged into it are the system unit (550W PSU), monitor, and 2.1 speakers, sometimes I also plug other things into it like stand fans and phone chargers. What are the best options that I can do immediately to improve my and my components' safety? I will have the house properly grounded in the future but it might take some time. I was planning on buying a good quality surge protector to replace my extension cord, I know the surge protection won't really work on a two prong outlet but I thought that at least the materials used inside would be better. However, I read that using it on a two prong outlet would actually cause more harm than good. I also thought of buying a UPS, but I read that it might actually be bad for the PSU if they're not "compatible", also, I don't really need its main functionality, I only want to improve overall safety. Just wanna ask for advice and suggestions, thanks!

Really simple question. I have the Alphacool cape corp coolplex pro 10LT reservoir and I can't for the life of me figure out which is the inlet and which is the outlet. I'm on mobile at the moment so I can't post a picture but one end has three holes with one of them leading to a long tube inside. The other end has one hole. Which is which? Greatly appreciate your help. Chris

Hi, I think I have two questions, I may have more haha: 1. There are two cables coming out of the back of the pump, one is a molex and one is a 4 pin with two wires going into it. What do I do with those? I'm assuming the 4 pin goes into my CPU fan header on my motherboard? Idk  2. Which is the inlet and outlet? There is no manual or markings and I've only seen one image on google which illustrates it, I'm not sure if its authentic. 3. Can all pumps be controlled with the mobo? Even without PWM? Oh yeah, pumps can run on their side can't they? Thanks for all your help, I'm a water-cooling noob if you didn't already know Chris

So my issue is that occasionally when a light switch is flipped in my house my monitor will just go "blank" for a perid of time, usually between 2-3 seconds but its been up to 10 before. This happens only in my room and has happened to my monitor (Toshiba 23DL933B) and my brothers monitor (Samsung S22D300HY). Are there any possible fixes? I will be trying out a new PSU, extension cable and a new monitor this weekend. I can take some outlet readings then too. Cheers.

I am looking at FrozenQ LF Reaction Dual Bay Reservoir for my first water cooling build. I am a little confused about what the "outlet" port is for on the reservoir. Images show there is a port with threading at the top, I am assuming it's for filling up the reservoir. Then there is one in the back labelled "pump" (with threading) and two more holes labelled "inlet" and "outlet" without any threading. What are these holes for if there is already a pair of holes with threading present? Are these going to be sealed with some kind of cover?

So this started happening last week and basically what happens is that when i have been playing games for a while and if i touch the side of my pc case, it gives me this weird shock. Its not like a *snap* shock its more continuous. All groundings in my psu and outlet are fine and i dusted the case. Does anyone know what might be causing this? Also i can hear little crunches from the case sometimes if thats any help.

So while I know a good deal about computers, I'm not exactlty an electrician, so my question: I'm moved into a new apartment, all outlets in all possible areas where I'd plug my setup in are two pronged. I assume this means no grounding, correct? Is this safe? I'll have my whole PC (pulling maybe 400W), two monitors, two studio monitor speakers, a keyboard, audio interface, and router plugged in. This all goes through a Furman M8x, which id need to buy a 3-to-2 pronged adapter for. Will that adapter and the lack of the third plug affect my setup in any way? Is it dangerous to have as much as I do plugged in? (not sure if this should be in the PSU section or under general)
