I recently bought a 960 evo m.2 ssd for my computer, to serve as my new primary boot drive. I was wondering if it is possible to migrate my current version of Windows 10 on my HDD onto the new drive, as I would not like to have to pay for a new license key for Windows 10 Thanks for your help

i purchased a flash drive from a brick store assuming it is 3.0 but it is operating in speeds of 2.0. i checked flash drive details using chip genius and it shows protocol as 2.0(what). im 100% sure that im using the flash drive in usb 3.0 port. i just wanted to know that if this might be the fault of drivers or something else before i go and kick the sellers ass. i suspect that the drive actually is 2.0 but was sold with label of 3.0(fake drives). note: os: windows 10 flash drive: SAMSUNG USB 3.0 Flash Drive BAR 32GB(at least it looks alike)

Hi users of the Internet. I need help fixing a problem with my second hand msi gt70 2pe laptop which I bought off eBay. Basically I was given a laptop with a ton of bloat ware so I thought it would be smart to reformat the whole disk. It holds a one 1tb internal hdd. I wanted to restore my system to factory settings and it seemed fine with all the loading screens running. After it reached 100% the computer restarted and constantly prompted me to disconnect any drives not containing the operating system and to control alt delete to restart the computer. I am well aware that I may have deleted the operating system in the computer and probably screwed up there.. There is no BIOS to boot into to which frustrates me even more as I cannot load the Windows 10 image from my USB drive to install Windows 10 all over. I really need help getting out of this mess as it's such a waste of money to pay for a laptop that doesent work. There is no startup MSI screen for me to press f3/del repeatedly to open up bios. Is there anyway I can boot Windows 10 and to reinstall the operating system?

Hello. In my PC I have 2 HDD's (one for storage and one for old windows) and one SSD. I installed windows 10 on my SSD while keeping my old HDD intact with windows 8.1 to transfer the files I needed (I knew it was a bad choice even back then but decided to try it). While I had no problems in the beginning (set SSD priority 1 on BIOS etc), I changed my case a while after and the problems started. First the boot manager appeared and asked me if I wanted to boot from Windows 8.1 or windows 10. Then I checked the BIOS, and the one I use for storage was used as boot option 1 for some reason. Nevertheless, windows 10 booted normally. But the boot manager kept bugging me. So after some search I decided to set my 2 HDDs as inactive from CMD. Bad call. My PC wouldn't boot at all with the message "No operating system found....press ctrl alt del to restart" at the BIOS. Strange thing is that even after I removed both my HDDs and left only the SSD, my PC wouldnt boot again. Anyway I managed to reboot by bootable usb with windows -> cmd-> set 2 HDDs active again. My question now is, can I make my SSD the only bootable device and turn my old HDD to storage only, without losing any files in the process? And if that's not possible, what is the next best thing that I can do? Thank you.

I was just wondering, how hard is it to create a fully functional OS from scratch where all the drivers also work and it can boot successfully. I don't mean an edited version of Linux, I mean a full one made from scratch, what is required and how hard is it?

Hey guys, just wanted peoples opinions on this. As I understand Windows 10 works bar the Wallpaper/Personalisation settings and with the addition of a “watermark” if it isn’t activated... So what is the point of buying a license? With regards to licensing does anyone know the restrictions on language packs for Windows 10? Does Windows 10 Home not have support of different language packs? Is Windows 10 Single Language Edition specific to a language or is that only for certain versions such as the Chinese edition?

Dear Awesome People, I am upgrading my parents computer tonight to Windows 10. My Mother's old 500gb HDD has gone far off the deep end so I decided to get her an SSD while I was at it. I plan on using the Windows 10 Free Upgrade and wanted to know what the best way to upgrade it would be. I have 1 old 500gb HDD and a new 250 GB SSD and 250 GB HDD. What would be the best way to upgrade her computer and do the registration? Just do an entirely new windows install on the SSD (Using her old Windows Key) and then transfer over files from the old drive to where I want them on the new SSD and HDD? Or should I select the SSD through the Windows 10 upgrade manager? Suggestions? Questions? Emotional Outbreaks? Thanks, Canto666Hades

Would you allow a robot to operate on you in surgery, provided that the robot has, in the past, successfully been used for other surgeries? The robot would be totally unmanned.

Microsoft has moved its windows 10 launch to a yet to be specified date this summer in 190 countries and 111 languages. They also are partnering with Lenovo to help get people in china to upgrade, and they will offer upgrades to pirated copies?!?!! This is pretty freaking sweet. For once it is nice to see something come out early for a change, and not get delayed 15 times...I'm looking at you Rockstar *wink* *wink* lol Source: The Verge EDIT: Apparently this is a rather big issue...9 out of 10 Windows copies pirated in China.

So, as the title says, I originally built my PC last year and put the OS on my 1TB HDD. Now i'd like to put an SSD in my system for quicker usage, and i'm stuck on how to move only my OS to the SSD without moving all my games and files to it too?

Just recently my OCZ vertex 3 240gb that has out lived one laptop and is currently still running strong in a new laptop has hit 10,000 operating (powered on) hours. I found a ncix page of the ssd a while ago claiming it has an average time before failure of 2 million hours. So my question, how many hours does your ssd have? heres a screen shot of my laptop's ssd smart data:

right so I have had this issue for the last few months and its been getting on my nerves so I thought I would consult you guys on here for some tips on how to deal with this issue, In windows 8 my sound has literally stopped working for no apparent reason and I cant adjust the volume or anything and when it detects for the problem it says that I haven't plugged anything in, however I most definitely have. So I scoured the internet for answers and it seems the only decent answers were to buy a sound card with I did (asus xonar dgx) and the problem still persists but to a lesser extent I now sound in some applications such as my djing software and music production software and only a few games, Dont suppose any of you would know how to solve this issue, my guess would be to reinstall windows but what is your guys take on it many thanks
