I have to choose between those two coolers, now i have a ryzen 1700 but i'm going to upgrade to a 5900x. Noctua pros: air cooling has less failing points, probably more durable and more silent (i think) Cons: it's very big and can have problems with the ram ( kfa2 HOF, very tall ram)with the headsinks of the motherboard ( x470 asus prime pro) and the case ( NZXT s340 elite). Artic pros: a little more cooling performance, the cpu ares it's more clean and unoccupied, has a fan for the ram and the vrm. Cons: more possible failing points and the consequences of water coming out are more dangerous, and my case don't allow to mount in the correct position showed by Steve from gamers nexus ( the tubs in the radiator down and not up) . They cost the same so price is indifferent.

Hi, I m currently building a pc and I m a bit worried that my cpu cooler that isnt delivered until now wont fit my mainboard. One aspect I m worried about is that it wont fit because of some plastic part at the IO. I got a nzxt s340 case and a normal profile ram, that shouldnt mess with the cpu cooler. Thanks for time and answers

I am trying to find a budget mid tower case to fit my components in and have settled on two the masterbox 5 from cooler master and the s340 from NZXT. They are both have white variants, which I was hoping for, and are under 70 dollars. I have seen some reviews of them but neither really edges out the other out in my mind. The internals are as follows: asus prime z270-a i5 7600k Noctua nh-d15 corsair vengaeance lpx 16 gb EVGA supernova g2 650w 1 tb hdd 250 ssd asus turbo gtx 1060 If you have other suggestions that fit my criteria feel free to point them out.

Hello All, I put this comp together from parts from trial and error builds, and troubleshooting parts for other machines. Intel Core i5 6600K 3.50 GHz Quad Core Skylake Desktop Processor, Socket LGA 1151, 6MB Cache Lepa AquaChanger 120MM Liquid CPU Cooler, LPWAC120-HF Gigabyte LGA1151 Intel Z170 ATX DDR4 Motherboards GA-Z170X-UD5 Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3000MHz (PC4-24000) C15 Memory Kit - Black EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Founders Edition, 8GB GDDR5X, LED, DX12 OSD Support (PXOC) Graphics Card 08G-P4-6180-KR Kingston Digital 120GB SSDNow UV400 SATA 3 2.5" Solid State Drive SUV400S37/120G EVGA Supernova G2 750W 220-G2-0750-XR Fully Modular Power Supply NZXT S340 Mid Tower Computer Case, Glossy Black (CA-S340W-B1) Corsair Air Series SP 120 LED Green High Static Pressure Fan Cooling Corsair Air Series SP 140 LED Green High Static Pressure Fan Cooling Windows 10 Pro, Kaspersky AV, Abode Creative Cloud, DOOM, etc... A few issues with the NZXT S340 case but not too bad. I couldn't quite fit a 240 Corsair H105 CPU cooler in the front. While I did sort of JAM it in the case the tubing was blocking everything, and the tubing was straining its connections because of the tight bending. And so I ordered an air cooler (Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO) but that didn't fit as well, too tall (but was very close). So the Lepa took over and is performing quite well. What is also cool about the Lepa is it can fit Socket 775 CPU's, so i might use it again on one of my older gaming rigs. Also the MOBO backplate had problems fitting which is causing the MOBO backplate display to bow out a little. Not a huge issue [see pic]. The cables fit with no problem and it is not really visible since its the back of the PC. I didn't feel like grinding it down a little to get the exact fit because the finish kind of flakes off. The paint sort of chip away when securing the screws for the PSU and side panels. Lastly no where to put a DVD ROM, but not a necessity for me. The MOBO has some cool gold lighting running up the left side along the back of the PC. I ran DOOM at max setting at 4K, but had some issues and by dropping the AA by half it worked with no problems.

I'm building a new pc, and looking at £20-30 cases with a relatively clean look and a decent side panel. If i had a little more money (or could squeeze it into the budget) i could buy a case like the versa h15 or better. If i had even more, i would get the nzxt source 340. Is it worth trying to squeeze these into my budget just for aesthetics and (maybe) better radiator support? Also is it hard to upgrade your case to something nicer? I was looking at this case https://www.cclonline.com/product/225388/CIT-DARKSTAR/Cases/CiT-Dark-Star-Midi-Tower-Case-with-120mm-Blue-LED-Rear-Fan-Side-Window-Black-/CAS2893/ but will the psu shroud cause issues with only 2 cable management holes? I would be using the corsair cx450m?

So, roughly 2 years ago I built my first PC. Here's the PC Part Picker List. Now, there's nothing WRONG with my PC. She runs like a dream, considering I built her from scratch after just a month or so of research and came from a background of only using Macs. However, I've found that the choices I made for this PC aren't exactly the best. I move my PC more than I anticipated, and the case I chose is simply too big to move around as often as I do. Long story short, I want to downsize my case. This wouldn't be that big of an issue if I wasn't insanely picky, aesthetically, and if I hadn't gotten a freakin' Cooler Master V8 GTS CPU cooler. Don't get me wrong - I LOVE how it looks and works. I wanted my rig to be themed red/white/black, and I loved how badass the cooler looked. However, now that I'm trying to downsize, preferably to something mid-tower sized, it's becoming more of a hindrance than anything else. The biggest issue I have is that I live somewhere that doesn't have a lot of stores that sell PC components. I can't simply go into a store and test for myself if my cooler will clear, and so I have to be 100% sure before I order one. I have one local Fry's, and that's it. Now, the cases I'm bouncing around atm are the NZXT S340, S340 Elite, InWin 303 and Phanteks P400. My parameters are: a white case, side panel window, and that it weighs less / is smaller than my current Storm Stryker. ( HWD 23.80" x 9.80" x 22.80" ; 30.20 lbs. ) I'd also not like to break the bank by buying another $150 case - I'm hoping to sell my old case to help offset any costs, but I'm still trying to not spend an arm and a leg, especially since I'll have to buy new fans, since my current Storm Stryker came with fans. My local Fry's supposedly has the InWin 303 in stock, so I'm going to check it out today. But it's also a bit heavier than I would like, so it isn't my first choice. (Plus, the blue lighting on the front would kinda clash with my preferred color scheme.) So, am I just royally screwed unless I give up my beasty cooler? It's been fine for my needs, and I'd rather not get rid of it, but if I have to then of course I will. I've read mixed reviews about the clearance of these cases. For example, this review claims that they could fit into the S340 a cooler that, with fans attached, measures 170mm where mine is ''only'' 167mm. I was hoping maybe people who own these cases could tell me first-hand experiences with height issues? Or maybe there are other cases you'd recommend? Or you can just tell me to suck it up and get a smaller cooler -- perhaps even go for a liquid CPU cooler. Just, keep it civil, okay?

Why (Yssssssss) It was black n white because i like it and my friend loves it so just like the last h440 bam bam bam The case was perfect just we needed a lil more black to fit our tastes. Love the CF texture and the biggest reason for using carbon fiber is that spray cans here really really suck so CF FTW. What are the future plans for this case White pastel fluid ( I think that explains most of it) Rest is even unknown to me atm Lets get started And i love the scent of new stuff. The moment a new box is opened u know the scent of shopper, cardboard even those thermopol safety foam smell smell’s good. Also love to open new stuff boxes ( Being honest i love even opening used stuff parcels too ). And i m really curious about the accessories that are given, those small boxes are fun too. BTW the above lines dont belong to Lets get started I will keep silent for the rest of the thread. But your input will always be welcomed. And your ideas matter too ( Dont look here and there i am talking to you reader ! ) Also i reply to pretty much every comment so dont hesitate if you have a question regarding any of the stuff done Heres a youtube video link showing some of the work done and all above pics too.

Hello, everybody! I am new to this community and this is my first post. First of all, I'll have to excuse myself for my english as it is not my native language. I have some questions about this case and also about PC cases in general. I'll be happy if you are willing to answer some or all of them. I am planning on upgrading my PC and this is the case that caught my eye. I have found some positive reviews but some of them mentioned that the side windowed panel scratches very easily. Can someone who owns this case confirm this? Are scratches inevitable in the long run even if you are really careful. I also want to know about the durability of the matte black finish on the rest of the case. The second concern I have with the case are the two 3.5" inch mounts for HDD in the basement area. I've read somewhere that the mounts are not isolated and this could result in vibration and noise. Given the fact i use 3.5" WD HDD, this could be a problem. The last thing i want to ask about this case is about the air cooling. As far as I know, the case comes with one fan on the back and one on the top. There are 2 slots on the front but no fans there. Now, if you are going to go with only two fans on a case, isn't "one on the front (for intake) and one on the back (for exhaust)" configuration the best?. I know i can just take the one on the top and put in on the front but I have watched so many reviews on this case and no one mentioned that the stock positioning of the fans is not optimal, so I was wondering if I am missing something? If you think that my worries about this case are valid what other case would you recommend to me? The reason i chose this case is not only the fact i have Razer peripherals, but I enjoy simplistic and clean design. So even if i have to switch to other case option, I would still want something with similar design. My budget for case is no more then $100. Do all cases under $100 with windowed side panel scratch easily? I really tried to find an answer to all of my questions on my own, but i didn't find satisfying one Thanks in advance and cheers!

Hi everyone, I am currently in a dilemma between these 2 cases. I have gathered most of my parts for my first PC build and the case is the only remaining component. My PC specs:CPU: i5-7600 3.5ghz processorCPU cooler: Cryorig M9iMobo: MSI B250M MortarRAM: G.Skill Ripjaws V 16GB 2400mhzGPU: MSI GTX 1070 Gaming XPSU: Evga G3 550W 80+ GoldSSD: Samsung EVO 850 250GBHDD: WD 1TB 7200RPMFor my first PC, I want a case that has decent build quality and good airflow to ensure the CPU and GPU do not exceed 75c (preferably 70) while gaming. I am a heavy user and do not plan to do any overclocking.I did not consider the NZXT elite as I've read that tempered glass has higher temps, heavier and more expensive. From where I live, it costs $40 more than its predecessor so I don't think it's worth it. I'm not really into aesthetics so no LEDs for me but I do like the looks of the bridge and the inclusions of 2 exhaust fans of the NZXT which will allow me to get 2x140mm Corsair AF fans for front intake to provide a neutral airflow and cooler temps. The case ($109) + 2 fans ($40) sums up to $149.As for the Fractal Design Define Mini C, I love the simplicity, cable management and build quality of the case so a non-windowed version is preferred to minimise noise and possibly decrease temps with the closed window panel. In addition to this, I do not have to worry much about the window being scratched or damaged. Based on what I've read, the case has higher temps compared to the NZXT S340 but lower noise level. I am more concerned to the temps rather than the noise as I will be on headphones most of the time. For this case, I will be getting a Noctua NF-S12A case fan for exhaust and use the 2 stocks fans as front intake. No top fans as this will increase the noise level. From where I live, the case ($139) + exhaust fan ($28) sums up to $167.In conclusion, the NZXT S340 is cheaper with better airflow and looks but the Mini C has better build quality, quieter and more compact (size and weight). Can anyone please solve my dilemma and provide some advice/suggestions? It'd be much appreciated.

Hi, I'm looking at the NZXT S340 Elite as the case for my new build, and have been looking at reviews online for specific details other than, "It's good." One that I found (I can't remember where it was) said that the thermals in the case aren't that great because on the front panel, the only vents for air are on the top and bottom. This means that the bottom and top intake fans get the most airflow, but that isn't that necessary, because the bottom fan just blows into the PSU shroud, and the top fan blows air past the CPU, which already has it's own dedicated cooler attached. This causes the middle fan, to not receive nearly as much airflow for the middle of the case, to cool the GPU. So my question is, are there any people here who personally use the S340 Elite, with air cooling that could give me an idea of how the thermals are in the case from their experiences with it? Thanks for the help!

Hello, I am building a PC for a buddy, I got everything hooked up and ready to just jump into BIOS, when none of the USB ports will work. This build is as follows... Ryzen 1600 NZXT s340 case Asus B350-prime EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 650 w EVGA powersupply Wraith CPU cooler a 500g SSD A couple case fans (I think that would be all) I am no expert in building PC's so any help would be greatly appreciated. This is only my third computer build !!! Thank you for any suggestions !!!!!

What kraken x~ is best suited for nzxt s340? Ive seen threads mentioning 280mm wont fit on their nzxt s340, some disagrees. If it does, should i go for 280mm or 240mm. Id like to stick with kraken just because it looks good(rgb/lighting). I saw pics of kraken attached to a case and i like how it looks unlike some of the recommended ones h100i if im not mistaken(doesnt look fit perfectly) and i want the lights to go with my black/cyan/red theme. I dont know much when it comes to coolers. I was using the deepcool(ice blade not sure if thats the model) not because i like it but i had no choice since i was on a really tight budget and i wanted to replace the stock cooler. If u have other brands to suggest, its fine as long as its close to kraken's appearance, does the job and has the same price range if not cheaper. Thanks and again im a nub Just incase its needed for suggesting coolers. Im using... MSI B150M Nightelf MSI RX480 8gb Nzxt s340 not the elite one Seasonic for the PSU

I looked up my parts for my build at pcpartpicker , both are compatible but nzxt 340s comes first out of all the cases , while the corsair one , is recommended at 22 th place . Both are excelent cases , have great reviews and are worth their money... although i am more prone to corsair ( since most of my spec items ( ram, psu) are gonna be corsair , and i allready own a scimitar and about to buy k70 rapidfire keyboard ) i still dont know which one to get... from critics i can see they both have lots of space , nice air flow and cable management.... Only thing is, corsair carbide 400c is a bit noisy ( thats what reviews say ) . with both cases costing same money ( NZXT S340 Elite at ; 102.49 euroes , and Corsair Carbide 400C at ; 103.15 euroes ) it's really up to fanciness and austhetics... One thing to notice is that the nzxt has 2x 2.0 usb and 2x 3.0 while the corsair case only has 2x 3.0 ... my usb is 2.0 so does that mean i wont be able to download windows if i get the corsair one? And also, does the nzxt contain a glass panel? because at ''extras'' is has nothing , but on the corsair one , it says ''window''

Hey everyone, I was just wondering if it's possible to fit the NH-D15 inside an S340? I heard some people on LTT Forums were able to, but they had the push the middle fan, the 140mm one, down as low as it could go. I'm not sure though, if it will fit even still. If anyone has been able to, I would appreciate the reply, so I can beast out my rig.

Last night I just built my first computer (in the NZXT S340) and it was a fun and somewhat stressful experience (having troubles with IO shield not going in, not enough stand offs, re-screwing because of using different screws that go to another part). It's not fully finished but I have all the parts in at the moment. I knew the PSU cables were going to be a struggle way before I even started building it (also knowing that my PSU is non-modular). So here's what I got in so far that I know is correct: I've got the motherboard power cable in place, the graphics card cable, hdd cable, cpu cable, and the sata cable in place. The others I'm not so sure about. The front panel connectors I'm not so sure about because there is a possibility I've put them upside down? Or not in the correct spot, but I think I've got the PLED+- in the correct area. The other cables I'm worried about are 2 left over cables where I don't know where they go to, but I'm 70% positive that the 4/8 pin connector goes to the CPU on the motherboard (I'll put pictures below to show what it's like). The cable the connects to both of the fans on the case are connected together by a couple of wires, and then there's a connector in the middle but I'm confused on what to do with all of these. The problem I have with some of the PSU cables is that they have multiple connectors along the cable for extra gpu's, hdd/ssd's, and or fans. I'm trying to work on cable management to, which is hard with those extra connectors. I'll stop rambling and show the pictures of the PC. Specs: Cpu: i3-6100 with stock cooler GPU: MSI GTX 1060 3gb Gaming X Mobo: Gigabyte GA H110M-A hdd: 1 tb WD carier blue case: NZXT s340 psu: seasonic S12II 520W Fans: case fans ram: crucial sport (1x8gb) A lot of pictures, but the first one is the PC. The 2nd one is the back and cable management. The 3rd is the cables that I need help with. The 4th one is the motherboard cables (the cables above the gpu). The 5th one is an example of the multiple connectors on some of the cables.

Hey guys, I would like to know how your overall impression from using a pc case with no optical drive is. For example with the NZXT S340 or the Corsair 400C. Hope to get your pro & cons.

Hey guy i have the nzxt s340w and wondered wether the two preinstalled fans are ehnough to generate ehnough airflow or if i should buy two extra fans if so are the arctic f12 120mm fans ehnough?
-
Hi, so I've always been for 120mm fans for all of my NZXT S340 fans, I'm talking 2 120mm intakes, a 120mm at the top, and a 120mm at the back. I don't know why either. I'm wondering, are there any airflow benefits that I could potentially gain from converting to 140mm intakes? I would be going from 2 Corsair SP120 RGB fans to 2 Corsair LL140 RGB fans if I were to make the switch.
