I have an on old computer I have been using as a home server for Minecraft. This is the computer: https://www.newegg.com/gateway-dx4380-ur308/p/N82E16883113230 the only changes to the handwear is back in September I added another 16 gb of ddr3 ram and cleaned the cpu and cooler then applied new thermal paste and put the cooler back on. I moved the Server into another room and wired it up to the ethernet last month and it had been on since then. The other day I tried to remote into the server and saw it wasn't able to connect, and I couldn't connect to the Minecraft server either. I plugged a monitor in and and a mouse and could not get a display to show up. I then held the power button for about 10 seconds untill it powered down fully. Since then it hasn't been able to turn back on. Sepcs: A8-Series APU A8-5500 (3.20GHz) 8GB DDR3 + 16 GB DDR3 1TB HDD Windows 8 64-bit AMD Radeon HD 7560D

HELP! I have a gaming PC that has been causing a lot of issues recently. I had built this PC in 2021 during the gpu shortage, so I bought a really cheap temporary one. Recently I replaced it with a new rtx 3070ti. When I updated the driver, the PC was fine until I restarted it. The PC would get stuck on the booting screen or boot into winRE (I could access bios but I couldn't boot into safe mode). So I wiped the PC and started again, downloaded drivers and played games. Then next day I went to turn the PC on, but the power button does nothing. Motherboard RGB is on, but no error lights are turning on. I have been using this PC for a couple years very sporadically. What should I do? Hey, guys. I'm in a bit of a situation. So, I recently went and bought a Dell Latitude E6420. It's a laptop I always wanted and I wanted to buy it for a vacation I'm going on literally tomorrow. I was pretty excited as all the parts came in and I was able to finally get it all set up and plugged in! Only, when I went to power it on after installing all the upgrades? I got nothing. Zilch. Nada. The Power LED went on for a second, then went dark again. No whirring of the fans, no LEDs flashing, no signs of life. Nothing. Upgrades are as follows: CPU - Stock i5 ---> i7-2630QM RAM - SAMSUNG 4GB DDR3 (PC3-10600S) ---> A-TECH 2x8GB DDR3 (PC3-10600) Storage - None ---> 1x240GB INLAND PROFESSIONAL SSD, 1x1TB TOSHIBA 5400RPM HDD (replaced DVD Drive) Can ANYONE help me with this? I just want this laptop to work...

Hi there everyone of the forum! I'm new to the forum and in dire need of some help troubleshooting a build i helped with for a friend of mine. Here it goes, so after building and double checking everything i powered it on for the first time and did get initial post without issue. Noticing it was weird that it was booting apparently slower than it had originally in the previous rig (Pre built from about 10 years ago) but it was still booting from a 3in HDD so i wasn't too concerned. not once I got in I went to partition and get the 2 new m2 SSDs we installed on the motherboard (will post full build info at end) and noticed at the one drive in the top m2 was not shown and after checking bios i found that it wasn't recognizing it at all. after reading the mobo book i found out that the top m2 has something to do with intel and 11th gen proccessors (were running a 10th gen in this build). thinking "ok we have one more m2 just below the top let move the drive there to see if it recognizes it" I tried moving the drive it would not power on at all, when i hit the switch on the PSU while it had power the RGB on the mobo lights up for a quick second but then off and nothing responds. power button does nothing and there is no power switch on the mobo to try. the only way we got it to boot again was to pull the battery on the mobo to reset it (i also moved the drive back to the slot and it changed nothing, only the board reset worked). After that i go tit running and decided to deal with it another day and sure enough the next day when he tried to power back on.... nothing.. he reset the mobo again got it running for a bit but no cant get anything again or get it to power at all. sorry for the long rant but i wanted to give as much detail as i can. below will be the build to the best of my memory since i do not have the build with me. Any help would be appreciated cause were kinda at a loss! Build: Motherboard- Gigabyte z590 Gaming X CPU- Core I5 10600K GPU- MSI 1060 3gb PSU- Corsair 850W Gold RAM- Corsair Vengance RGB 3200Mz Cooler- Corsair H150i Elite Capellix iCUE RGB Again any help will be appreciated and thanks for the time!

Asus Prime Z690-P D4 Corsair Vengeance LPX 16Gb Corsair RM850 850 Watts Corsair 4000D Airflow Intel i5-12600k WD 2tb m.2 ssd 3080 Ti 12Gb corsair icue h100i rgb windows 10 64bit the main issue that could keeps happening is it boots every time my PSU is out of the case until I move it inside the case then it never boots again. I plugged everything in outside of my case on the motherboard box. It booted to BIOS, it read both RAM’s, my ssd, and processor. After plugging everything in my case it didn’t turn on again, I reseated my RAM and switched them, causing it to turn on My psu is out of the case so after placing my psu in my case it wouldn’t turn on again. I unplugged the 28 pin and jump started it using the 3&4th pins as well as 4&5th with signs of life. I reseated my RAM and GPU with nothing happening. I turned it off and could not get power again, I reset the CMOS and everything came up again with my psu out of the case, only for it to not power on again when moving it back into my case. Also wouldn’t work with no RAM or one Stick inserted. the attached images probably describe my steps a lot better.

the System worked normally, then an upgrade was performed, removing the motherboard and old processor, then the upgrade was installed, the i5 11400F and MSI B560M Pro-e, so when turning on the computer, it doesn't show any sign of life, it doesn't light up no system led, no P.O.S.T LED, no fan spins, no sign of life, Before this motherboard and processor were installed in this system, they were in another system that used an RTX 3060 TI that uses PCI 4.0, in the system current the RX 570 Uses PCI 3.0, so a BIOS Reset was done, removing the battery and holding the two terminals to reset the bios, but still no sign of life in the system, before being mounted on the current system, tests were done and the CPU Kit and Motherboard worked perfectly, I wanted your suggestions of what could be the problem -Tested with only 1 sitck of ram -Tested PSU power on Last System: Intel core i3 9100 H310 Ram: 2x8gb ballistix DDR4 2666 Mhz Gpu: SAPPHIRE RX 570 4GB Ssd: kingspec M.2 256gb Fonte: Corsair CX650 W Actual System: Intel core i5 11400F MSI B560M Pro-E Ram: 2x8gb ballistix DDR4 2666 Mhz Gpu: SAPPHIRE RX 570 4GB Ssd: kingspec M.2 256gb Fonte: Corsair CX650 W "Donor" System for the Kit CPU MOBO: Intel core i5 11400F MSI B560M Pro-E Ram: 2x8gb DDR4 3000Mhz Gpu: RTX 3060 Ti Ssd: M.2 PCI 512GB 463806056_WhatsAppVideo2022-11-09at21_07_32.mp4

In past years I successfully built maybe a dozen computers, so my current new project is a datacenter server. I just assembled the new server with dual Xeon CPU’s, yet when I plug in the power cord into the PSU and turn on the power on back of the PSU, and then press the front panel power button, the server remains off. To provide further context, when I turn on the PSU’s power button on the back. On the inside of the servers case where the front power button is at, a white light rapidly blinks about 7 times. That as well as on the motherboard near the same spot a green LED blinks, also about 7 times. Just as those two lights stop blinking, a separate LED in between where the PCI-e slots are located. That LED blinks green twice and repeats the double green blinking ongoing. I’ve re-seated all four RAM modules into their respective P1-DIMMA1, P1-DIMME1, P2-DIMMA1, and P2-DIMME1 slots, removed and re-inserted the CMOS battery, and removed and re-seated the SSD drives. Also removed the motherboard from the case and removed 3 extra standoffs that were excess. Yet even with everything re-inserted and re-assembled. I’m still getting the same repeating double green blinking LED and the server still doesn’t do anything when the front power button is pressed. The only thing I haven’t attempted yet, is removing and re-inserting the CPU’s…which I’ll be doing later tonight. But in case that also doesn’t help. I wanted to ask here, based on my description, if I might have missed something. Also the server I built has the following: Dual Intel Xeon Silver 4316 CPU’s SuperMicro X12DPi-NT6 E-ATX Motherboard TPM 2.0 module 256GB’s of Micron DDR4-3200 RDIMM (4 modules of 64GB) 2 Noctua heatsinks for the CPU’s NH-U12S DX-4189 Fractal Design Define 7XL tower case 2 M.2 NVMe SSD Drives of WD_BLACK 4TB SN850X Corsair AX1600i PSU 1600 watts Also the motherboard only had an M.2 slot for one SSD, so I used an adaptor to insert the second SSD drive into the top PCI-e slot.

So I recently decided to try using an eGPU on my laptop just for fun but I've run into a strange problem. (I built my own setup out of parts I had) My Gigabyte RX580 (which is on the supported cards list) powers down the minute I plug in a thunderbolt cable, or any USB cable for that matter. All lights and fans totally power down. As far as hardware I'm using a generic pcie eGPU card from ebay or something, (I don't know because it came attached to my card when I bought it) my RX580 8gb, a 2018 version of the HP OMEN 15T, (dc0010nr) an old PSU from the 80's or 90's running at 300 Watts, (Which I thought would be more than enough) and an Amazon basics thunderbolt cable which I just bought. Also the RX580 drivers won't install along side my GTX1050ti drivers and seem to delete themselves off my machine after a little while, but leave the program name and shortcut. Some things I've tried are different cables, different PSUs and I know all the power cables are plugged in correctly to the GPU and eGPU card. I pulled the GPU from a working machine for testing to deiced whether I wanted to buy one for my laptop or not. Any thoughts and suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hi there! I'm new to the forum, but have searched through the troubleshooting section and haven't found something that will resolve my issue. I've just finished my first build, hit the power on button and nothing happened. Nothing to display, no case or CPU cooler fan spinning, no sounds or beeps, nothing! Configuration (all bought new, apart from GPU): CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 Mobo: MSI B450M PRO VDH-MAX RAM: 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3000 Mhz GPU: Gigabyte Windforce GTX 950 2GB PSU: Thermaltake TR2 S 500W 80+ SSD: Curcial MX500 Troubleshooting steps: - Disconnected all cables and reconnected, no change - Disconnected front panel connectors and tried to turn on by shorting the power + and - with screwdriver, no change - Disconnected all power connectors and used the paperclip trick in the 24pin connector, the PSU did turn on and it's fan started wiring, so I'm inclined to believe the PSU is working. - Disconnected everything apart from the CPU and cooler, removed the mobo from the case, reconnected the 24 pin mobo connector and 8 pin CPU connector and tried to turn on with screwdriver in FP connectors. Still nothing - the CPU cooler fan did not move at all. So since the PSU seems to be working and, even when stripping down to just CPU, it wouldn't turn on, I'm inclined to believe it's most likely a problem with the motherboard, and then, if not, the CPU. During the build, I did have some difficulty with installing the stock Wraith cooler and at one point, the CPU came clean out of the socket attached to the cooler with the thermal pad. But, as I said, it came clean out and I had a good look at the bottom and no pins seemed bent and I was able to reinstall it easily. To get the cooler screwed in, I had to use a bit more force than I was comfortable with, but the motherboard didn't appear to bend or warp much at all. Also, as a side note, I was careful with ESD and wore a wrist strap throughout. No component was dropped, or no screwdriver through the mobo etc etc. Are there any additional troubleshooting steps anyone can suggest, or any alternative diagnosis? I have no other parts at all to try and test with, and currently I'm thinking that the mobo was DOA and will request a refund. Thanks in advance!

I have a new build that I've been working on and am having trouble getting it to power-on (parts list here, though I'm currently trying to boot it with a 1900x installed, in order to flash the BIOS). Background: After assembling everything, I was able to get the computer to turn on, but the CPU led was lit and got an error code of EE (or 33, not sure). I then noticed that the 24 pin connector had a wire loose (3.3v line) and would not snap back into place. I received a replacement from EVGA and ordered a set of CableMod cables, but then the issue turned into the computer not powering on at all. Assuming the MoBo was injured, I RMAed it (Amazon's return policy is pretty great), but the issue persists. Current status: If I disconnect every power cable from the motherboard and jumper the 24-pin connector, the PSU powers on just fine (PSU fan spins, etc.) and I'm able to run the pump via it's molex connector. However, when the 24-pin and CPU cables are connected to the motherboard, it will not boot even to the point of the PSU fan spinning up (even using the on-board power button), regardless of whether I use the new EVGA cable or the CableMod cable. I've even tried connecting the CPU power cables into the motherboard and jumping the 24-pin with no luck. Is this a weird form of PSU death, or am I missing something? Might a small spark from the loose wire killed something in the PSU?

Hi guys! So I started my first PC build a few days ago and right now I have everything installed that I need for a boot to the bios(CPU, ram, mobo, fan, psu). However, when I turn it on nothing happens. I already tested the psu, so I know that works, but nothing else has done anything when I power it on nothing happens at all. I tried to just short the power leads instead of using the switch, but that did nothing either. My motherboard, the MSI z170a Krait gaming, has 3 LEDs that tell you if the CPU, ram, or Gpu aren't working, but none of those come on. I removed the ram to see what would happen, but none of the LEDs turned on. Do I have a broken mobo? P.S. I haven't been able to connect it to a monitor yet as I don't have a dvi cable, it's shipping, so is it possible the LEDs are broken and my CPU fan is as well? Here's my part picker link : http://pcpartpicker.com/p/ywxNbv

Hey forum users, I have recently (last week) bought a new PC of the following specs. - Case: BitFenix Prodigy M - Motherboard: Asus Maximus VI Gene - Power Supply: Corsair RM650 Modular 80+ Gold - RAM: Ripjaw Trident X 2400 Mhz - CPU: i5 4670K (stock speeds for now) - GPU: Asus GTX 780 Direct CU II - Storage: Intel 530 240GB SSD (getting WD Black 2TB soon) - OS: Windows 8.1 64 - bit. Here is my problem. Last night I was playing on my PC and randomly my PC turned off. Wasn't a shut down that safely closed down Windows. But just lost power. Ever since then my PC has not started. It wasn't a power outage at my house because only my PC lost power, nor was it a brown out (as far as I know). I don't understand why it suddenly cut out. It was running for a week without any issues. Then suddenly this happens. The motherboard and GPU lights are on so I know they are getting power. Ever since then my PC won't start. I push the power button and it gets power for like 1/2 a second then stops. The fans begin to spin for that time. After I flick the power switch off the power supply it does it again. I have tried the following: - Ensure all motherboard connectors are firmly in place. And in the power supply. - Switch power supply on and off. - Change RAM slots. - Tried booting up without GPU power in. - Ensuring the power cables are all plugged in. - Leaving the power supply off for a while. Same with leaving it on for a while and coming back. - Using the onboard power button on the motherboard. - Using a metal object to put in the power button area on the motherboard to boot up from there. - Made sure that the power plug is in the wall and switched on. Same with the case extension cable for the power supply. Nothing seemed to have work. I am thinking the power supply maybe died? Thanks for reading. And I appreciate any suggestions. Cheers guys.
