Hi, I'm new here. I'm watching LTT and it's sister channels for a long time. By the way, has LTT a Discord server? I can't find any invitation link at the channel's about section.

Hey all, I've been watching LTT on YouTube for a while. I've been working in web design, communication design, UX/UI and components for the last 10 years. Joining now as I continue building my company and find myself building systems a lot more. I'll probably be asking for a lot of help here, but I'll try to contribute as much as I can! In case you're interested, here's some of my experience and what I'm up to now: - Started off out of college at an interactive design agency - Contracted for two years at a medical tech startup, designing UX/UI for a medical IoT solution between Welch Allyn and Honeywell - Worked as a senior designer and creative director at various design/advertising agencies - Eventually ended up at a 3-year tenure at Arrow Electronics as a Communication Specialist. Learned a lot about enterprise server and video wall controller solutions there. - Left to start my creative, web and marketing agency titled Weapons of Mass Creation (we are the proud owner of that U.S. trademark). Proceeding to geek out over LTT's camera and hardware videos as I struggle to afford all the things while paying other people now. Looking forward to connecting with you all, getting some much-appreciated-in-advance help, and contributing where I can! Thanks! Rob

Wonder if anyone could help me with my use case. I know the situation I'm giving seems really stupid, and to those of their own, but I would love advice on the hardware I would need rather than "downsizing" or alternatives as I always get. I love playing minecraft jam packed with mods. I would build massive modpacks that would reach 720 mods. (And while yes theres going to be at least 200 mods I dont even touch, removing them isn't the point) I was wondering if anyone has advice on hardware that would be specific for this use case (Maybe higher performance on a single core, faster/slower ram, or even just a ssd upgrade) I wouldn't want to spend a fortune on high end cpus or ram or ssds if thats not what the bottleneck is I have an i5-10400 CPU, 128GB 1333.3Mhz (I use 2 64GB sticks but I got 8 for $120 used) of ddr4 ram, Nvidia GTX 1060 6144MB VRAM, and a ADATA SU800 120GB. (I'm not sure if I need a better cpu, or the ram capacity doesn't matter, or if my ssd is too slow) The problem I have currently is lag spikes. Where I can be playing with a solid 120fps with or without shaders, but then it would freeze after a few minutes of game play then go back to normal. While I have tried looking past this and play with the minor inconvenience, the lag spikes get longer and I could be waiting for minutes to even an hour before the game unfreezes then back to 120fps.

Hi, So in 2017 I purchased my first gaming laptop, under the pretense that I was mainly going to use it for work but I was going to buy a few small games for me to play when I wasnt working. I ended up getting the MSI GS63VR Stealth Pro. I ended up buying Escape from Tarkov and fell in love with PC gaming. Coming from Xbox, it was a huge improvement. In 2019, I felt like I wanted to upgrade so I started researching what I wanted, I was back and forth between pre-built, custom built, and DIY. I spent over a year figuring out what i wanted. I made numerous list on pcpartpicker, went to several sites to make builds to figure out different price points on custom builds, looked a little at pre-built. But on January 2020, I decided to hit the purchase button to buy all the parts for a DIY. It felt amazing! (except that price tag lol). The parts i initially started off were: Case - Cooler Master H500 MB - MSI MPG Gaming Pro Carbon CPU - Intel I7 9700k CPU Cooler - Noctua NH-U12S (with Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut) Memory - Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8) 3000 mhz GPU - EVGA 2070 Super FTW3 Ultra PSU - EVGA SuperNOVA G2 850w Gold Storage - Samsung 970 EVO PLUS 1TB / Samsung 860 EVO 1TB (Removed for warranty) / (Added Recently: Samsung 970 EVO PLUS 500GB) Initially after getting everything put together, I had not boot. After taking it apart and not figuring out what was wrong, i decided to replace each part 1 by 1. Started with the motherboard, and ended up being the issue. So at the beginning of February, I had the PC back together and running. It ran great for a few weeks. Then had ALOT of issues with constant blue screens. I spent weeks working on it! Constantly wiping hard drives, reinstalling windows and drivers, changing BIOS versions, and so on. Couldnt figure it out, so I took it to a local shop. This shop was less of a shop and more of just a gaming center, like where people go to play games that dont have there own PC's or for tournaments. The first few days of being there, the owner had no issues with the PC. So I took all my periphials up there, monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset. When arriving, I hooked everything up, and within 5 minutes I got a blue screen. So the owner spent a week "working on it" and claimed he never had issues. I showed up several times and always got a blue screen while there. The last day it was there, he found that my SSD's had firmware updates and that seemed to be the problem and was solved for roughly a week. Started having blue screens again and so I just dealt with it for a few more weeks until I had enough. I contacted another local shop, but I was hesitant on taking the PC up there because of my previous encounter with the last shop. So I asked several questions, explained what was going on and eventually the tech told me some troubleshooting tips that should start with. A couple weeks go by as I went to the field for military training. When I got back, I removed my 970 EVO Plus SSD and reinstalled window on my 860 EVO SSD. Ran that for a couple days with only 2 issues. 1st issue was it randomly restarted after turning on, and the 2nd issue was it randomly froze after turning on and starting to play Escape from Tarkov. So I went out and bought a Samsung 970 EVO PLUS 500GB. After installing that on April 10th, I have had not blue screens but I have had random restarts 3 times. All 3 times it was within 30 minutes of starting up the PC for the first time that day. I have made a warranty claim for the 1st 970 EVO PLUS that i bought and will be shipping it out today. I have updated the display driver since the last restart so I guess now I will play the waiting game to see if it still restarts randomly.

Hi guys, sorry to keep posting the same and same question that is all over here. But I'm new in this forums (Big fan of Linus here) and I though maybe I could get recommendations and also explanations on how I could improve my Audio experience, by upgrading my headset or maybe buying a DAC+Headphone. I like to watch concerts and listen to music ALOT in my computer. I also Like gamming. I have currently a affordable gaming setup (I don't play First person shooters, I suck on it.) I play MMORPG alot and also The Withcher 3, etc etc, and I don't think my Audio experience is optimal actually. My headset is: http://www.kabum.com.br/cgi-local/site/produtos/descricao.cgi?codigo=44545&origem=52&gclid=CjwKEAjwxurIBRDnt7P7rODiq0USJADwjt5DFg-KABTDjD3vOdKxC1TKabp7yMlfG-no-E7lz5Aj0hoC_y_w_wcB (Couldn't find an international link for it. It has 40mm drivers, "7.1 virtual" 20-20khz frequency and 32 ohms +/- 15%) It's very cheap and I bought it years ago. It goes with a driver software, but I recently updated my Windows to Creator Update, and I'm using Dolby Atmos software that is recently added. My current motherboard is: http://www.waz.com.br/placa-mae-lga1151-gigabyte-ga-h110m-h-micro-atx-110970.html (Gigabyte H110M-H ultra durable). So I was thinking about what should I get. A DAC+Headphone or a Good headset. (I Saw that Linus recommended HyperX Cloud as affordable headset). My budget isn't high, since taxes for importation is high, but I'd like to head your thoughs about how could I improvde it for music/concerts and games.

Hey, this is my first time here on the forum and I think this post is within the guidelines? Correct me if not and I apologize for my incompetence in advance if so That aside, I had this idea of a challenge for the guys to make some cool and obscure case mod/pc. Something non-traditional and whimsical could be really fun in my eyes. My question is, does Linus and the crew take community ideas? I'm new to the community so I don't know, best way to find out is to ask so...tada. And since this is a forum i'd like to hear what you guys think of the idea and what you would do. Personally I would make a scale model of a 1969 Camaro ss, large enough to house a pc obviously and rigged with some cool sound effects and such. e.g on start up you would hear a racing muscle car (if configurable).

Hello there! I am a new member, and I found out about this forum because of my friend. I am very happy to be part of a wonderful community of tech geeks, and I am looking forward to establish a friendly relationship with all! Currently I am not an expert in any genre of technology, but I think Wiki Code counts, so yeah. thanks, Michal

I've literally just joined, decided to make a post just introducing myself, if people do that on here. I dunno. Yes, I am of a respectable house, the Sir in Sir Deezus is no joke. No, I am by no means a computer genius nor am I going to pretend I know tons about said computers, I'm just a pleb trying to learn more. I joined the forum because I hear Linus' squeaky voice mention it after every video, so I finally listened and joined, haha. Big fan of the channel, big fan of computers. Also, yes, my pfp is FilthyFrank. Also enjoy this overly large sentence written in Comic Sans.

Look at me, posting build plans and not even introducing myself. Hey everybody I'm Ratchet! Happy to be here. Been a console gamer for a long time and very recently broke into PC world wanting to build my own rig. Gotta say the research has been a lot of fun and this community has been real helpful in the few minutes I've been on this forum. I hope one day i can be just as helpful to new comers like me! Very impressed!

Hi all, My real name is David and I live in Colorado U.S.A. I've been a long time LTT fan and finally decided to take a step to join the forums. I've been at a different forum since 2007 but that one has sadly died and currently has almost no activity. I was also really the only tech person on this particular forum so it was hard to have conversations about tech. This community seems much healthier so I decided to join up. I figured this would be a great place for me to join since it fits my interests and proficiency perfectly. I am a lifelong geek/nerd. Been into building computers and rigging up AV equipment (both home and production grade) since I was just 10 years old. I like software and know some programming but my real passion is for hardware. I am a professional AV Engineer and used to be an IT Technician at my place of employment (I handled level 2 and 3 tickets mostly for PCs). I still build and do computers in my personal life. Anyway, just dropping in to say hi! You guys should be seeing me around here from now on.

Hi! I'm a long time video lurker and admirer. What I admired was not linus, God bless the cluts he is, it was the fact you built the pc yourself. So really it was all you nameless (atm) and faceless people reading this that I look/looked up to. DIY is a thing I want to do more of in more than just tech. Credit where credit is due; it was watching linus's videos, and other's, that made me want to build my own pc. I really just like doing things of my own choice and design and someday want to make my own case. Anyway that is all I really want to say other than HI Linus Media Group! All the way from the other side for the country! Imgur Post about the build I did. https://imgur.com/gallery/ogUElB0

What's up. I'm VegetaFajita. I built my first computer in 2009, and I'm probably just a wee bit late to registering on here. I still run my i7 920 on the original board, and have only updated my GPU, ram, case, cooling, and PSU over the last 10 years.

HI Everyone, Let me start by apologizing if this is in the wrong section, I wasn't sure where to post this as I am new here. I'm thinking of changing teams and moving from Console gaming to PC gaming. However my PC is... slightly old so I am wondering would it be better(cheaper) to upgrade it (if its possible) or start a whole new build? As you can see from the pictures it has had a hard long life, any help would be appreciated, as I am new to this PC world. Thanks in advance for any help you are able to provide. PC Specs: Gateway SX2802 - Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit - Intel Core 2 Quad processor Q8300 - ATI Radeon HD 4650 1024MB - 4GB DDR2 - 1 TB Harddrive
