Hello, I'm having some trouble with my pc, I've finally got the wire to connect my graphics card to the pc and booted it for the first time. But the system says it can't find a floppy disk and tells me to press f1 to continue, f2 for the bios, f5 for on screen diagnosis. pressing f1 sends me to a blue screen and the computer restarts, f5 does nothing as far as I can tell. So I'm in the bios just wandering what to do next. Please help if you can, I don't know what is wrong.

Hey PC people, I have built a new rig with the below components except for some old drives and my old PSU. The GPU is the newest addition and from when I added it, there is a burning rubber smell whenever I am playing some intense games (like Anthem @ 1080p -vsync on (60 hz) - Ultra settings. Also to note, the graphics card temp goes to around 72-81 degrees Celsius during those game sessions. Also, rarely the PC just shuts down without any notice some times. ASUS ROG Strix Z370G Gaming (m-ATX) Intel Core i7-8700K @ 4.3GHz Hyper T4 Cpu cooler 2x 4GB Corsair Vengeance @ 2400 MHz MSI Ventus XS OC RTX 2060 (this is the newest component) Samsung 970 Evo NVMe SSD 250 GB Samsung 860 Evo 2.5" SSD 250 GB 2x Internal HDDs 2x External Powered HDDs 1x External Portable HDD Corsair VS 550 PSU Also I only have 2 120mm case fans, 1 in front and one in the back. I am planning to add 2 more, 1 in front and 1 at top back. I have been looking at some forums and I noticed that some ppl were saying it could be the problem with PSU not able to handle the power demand. Could anyone point me to where to look at for the problem? Also to note, the burning smell I am talking about came when I smelled the graphics card out of the box as well. But it did not fill up the room until it got heated up. Note: Thinking it could be heating problem, I have overridden the GPU fans to run 100% always and added the temp limit at 72 C(from 84C default). Will it cause the fans to die soon? Regards, Me

i recently purchased an rx 480 from you and emailed a overclockers uk to ask if overclocking my card would void my warranty. he informed me that it would not. so i overclocked my card. then after doing this i reset the card to default clocks to check the performance gain , but after opening heaven benchmark it gave me a peach colour screen. i presumed it was a simple error and proceeded to restart my pc. however i just encountered a black screen. the lights on the card where working and the same for the fans. because of this i check my ssd (boot drive ) same for my ram (removing it 1 by 1 ) then re-installing it. then i took the graphics card out and connected the hdmi to the mobo. this worked. so i knew the problem was my gpu. i then went on my pc without my gpu and removed the overclocking software(tri-x) but it still didnt work. i then tried it on another pcie slot. it didn't work. then i tried it on my brothers pc with a different output , power cables and mobo and it didn't work. now i no longer no what to do and fear the card is dead. i have checked the card over and there is no damage to the capacitors. if you could help it would be a pleasure.

Hello all! I have been wanting to upgrade my pc for quite some time now and I finally think that I am ready to do so. To start off, I plan on purchasing a 144htz monitor and I am planning on playing battlefield 1, and other new games like it. This is my current pc build http://pcpartpicker.com/list/2Q8cxY and I am looking into upgrading my graphics card (open to any suggestions if this isnt the best plan of action). I was thinking about buying the gtx 1070, but I am worried that the rest of the parts wont be able to support it, if that makes sense. I dont want to buy a $400 graphics card if the rest opf the parts will just hold it down. WIll that be the case, and if so what do you guys recommend that I upgrade? Thanks all! - Andrew Mikes

Ive checked all the cords they r all plugged in. I have removed the graphics card and plugged it back in and still not working. I also plugged my old graphics card back in and its still not posting. Anyone have any idea what I could do to solve this?

So like a couple of days ago I posted that I am looking for a decent graphics card and a psu to support it and the results where and GTX 950 with a 500 watt psu. I was very happy with the results but yesturday I thought to myself maybe I should get the 970. Here is a link http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=04G-P4-3973-KR. Now my system is an aspire tc-120 with an AMD Radeon HD 8670D, which is an apu by the way. I just need to know if the 970 or 960 will also work for me. I also understand that I might need a bit more wattage. Also could this all fit in a micro-mid atx tower case.

Hey guys, I recently got an offer to buy a 5 year old system for ~25$. The specs are kinda shitty: asus p7p55d motherboard i3 540 CPU GTX 240 GPU 4gb ram 500gb hard drive My question is, is it possible to revive this PC by reaplcing the i3 with an i5 and the GPU with a GTX 960? Or would the CPU just bottleneck the 960 too much? I would appreciate any advise, I'm new in the whole PC building business

So I was on NewEgg looking at the prices of GTX 960's and then this showed up in the search results. Is this because so many people search for it or might there be a 960 ti coming? Who know's the 950 / 950 ti (which would be a cut down GM206 GPU) is coming soon so they might release a further cut down GM204 GPU which they would make the 960 ti. Post your thoughts down below.

Hi, I installed a new graphics card (gtx 760), but when I boot up I get a blackscreen even though the PC is clearly on. I have already uninstalled the old nvidia drivers and disabled the intel hd 4000 drivers. The screen does work if I plug it in in the mobo. Does anyone know what to do about this? Thanks.

Hi all, I've bought an Asus R9 280X DirectCUII to crossfire with my MSI HD 7970 Lightning BE. I set them up in crossfire and reinstalled the drivers. I noticed that once I ran a game or Kombustor, after approx. a minute the monitor would go black as if it has lost a signal. It's an LG monitor that flashes "Power Saving Made" when this happens and no matter what I do I cannot get the screen back unless I pull the plug (of my PC). When I tested the new card solo, exactly the same happens. Is the problem a defect card or could it be driver related? Thanks in advance for your replies. Hi all. Afraid this is going to be a long post but please stick it out. I am hoping for some advice on which direction to go with my system and I want some views to help me decide. I have saved up some money to upgrade and I have 2 options in mind. I am thinking about buying an extra GPU to crossfire with my MSI HD 7970. However my system is over 4 years old (which I appreciate isn't too old) so alternately I am thinking of upgrading the CPU, MB, and memory instead for reasons below. My current system is: Intel i7 930 (LGA 1366) Asus Rampage II Gene (X58) OCZ 6GB (3x2GB) 1600MHz DDR3 Intel 520 120GB SSD (OS Drive) Seagate 1TB (contains all my documents, games, etc.) OCZ 600W PSU semi-modular (which I will have to upgrade with I decide to crossfire) CoolIT ECO A.L.C. CPU Cooler (which is rubbish) Thermaltake Armor Revo Gaming Case (looking to buy a Corsair 350D to replace it) MSI HD 7970 Lighting Boosted Edition The GPU I would buy is the MSI HD 7970 Lightning as it is cheaper than the boosted edition buy over £100. However I am considering upgrading my system so wanted some thoughts as to which would be the best direction to go and provide the best performance. The reasons for upgrading my CPU, MB, & memory are a few. My X58 chip on my motherboard runs very hot (60-70C at idle, no overclock) and restricted me when overclocking my CPU as I didn't want the temperatures to go much higher. Reading online the X58 seems to run hot normally. I tried to solve this issue by zip-tying a 40mm fan over it which did help to bring the temps down a bit. However I have now had to remove it since I moved my GPU card to the other slot, thereby preventing it to fit. I moved my GPU because where it was it was covering a SATA connector which I needed. I was bending the connector preventing it from working and I didn't want any permanent damage so thats why I moved the GPU. (If I buy another card, I will have to no longer use that sata connector). Also there is no USB 3.0 support, the PCI-E lanes are 2.0 and I believe something is failing in my system ( I have put the information about it at the end of this post because it is quite long and not everyone may want to read it. Any help about it will be greatly appreciated. ) The parts I am thinking about buying if I do upgrade my system are: Intel i7-4770k Gigabyte Z97MX - Gaming 5 Intel Z97 (Socket 1150) DDR3 Micro ATX Motherboard Kingston HyperX Beast 16GB (4x4GB) 2400MHz Quad Channel Kit Corsair Hydro H80i Cooler Keep everything else (therefore stick with 1 GPU) The question I have is which would be a better performance; buying another graphics card and crossfiring or upgrade my system? I mostly game and do lot of video converting through handbrake. I recently bought Watch Dogs and I've noticed that has much greater system requirements than any other games I own so my thought is many new games to be released may be similar so the system upgrade may be worth it? If you guys are still with me, please read below about my hardware issues. My Potential Hardware Issues So I think some of my hardware is beginning to fail. I am running some test nows but maybe someone here might have some thoughts as to what it is. I have been getting quite a few BSOD (ID: 2057). They are not consistent when I am getting them, but it is when I start to push my system. Far Cry 3 commonly crashes my system with Assassin's Creed IV also doing it occasionally. I overclocked my CPU about a year ago from 2.8GHz to 3.2GHz (not ground breaking I know but it was my first overclock). Anyway it seemed stable. I had run prime95 for 24 hours no problem. Multiple IntelBurnTest no problem. I had played many games and no issue at all. It seemed to be running very stable. However last January my secondary HDD failed and Windows 8 wouldn't boot. It kept going into a repair boot loop (which seems to be a common issue). I just bought a new HDD and started from scratch, reinstalled and staying with Windows 7. At that time I installed Hackingtosh as well, but OS X was never stable. After running a few tests I found that my overclock was no longer stable even in windows and crashed....a lot. I thought it was very strange how my overclock went from being pretty stable for 6 months without a single crash to being very unstable. I'm at university and I had a lot of work and no time so I just returned my BIOS settings to default removing the overclock and it seemed to run fine for a while. Since easter however I found that it was crashing a lot and after running prime95 my computer always gets BSOD (always ID: 2057) or the following errors for both worker #5 & #6: "FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 0.5, expected less than 0.4" "Hardware failure detected, consult stress.txt file" "Worker Stopped" Sometimes this can occur 5 mins after starting or 5 hours. (I am unable to find any stress.txt file as well) I ran two Memtests with 0 errors (4 hours and 12 hours). Anyone have any thoughts as to what it may be? This was quite a long post so thanks for sticking with me. Any thoughts or suggested improvements on which direction to go on my system upgrade would be much appreciated, along with what may be tripping my current computer. Thanks in advance for all your replies.
