Okay so this might be a big long drawn, but I have been playing games off my laptop on my Firestick TV through Moonlight since I dont like the display on my Laptop. I use a third party Nintendo Pro Controller and it is detected by firestick all properly it works fine with most of the games except when I open Non-Steam Games like I tried to play Crew 2 through Ubisoft Connect and the game wasn't detecting the controller just for the Game. This happens on another game when its a non-Steam game on steam library. Can somebody help me or know a roundabout. The only thing I can do later is connect my controller to the laptop through wire and then play but then that defeats the whole purpose and I keep my Laptop in other room.

Hi everyone, Am hoping to get your help because I'm unsure what happened to my gaming PC recently. I'm using Parsec to remote access my gaming computer which has an i5 6600K, 16gb RAM and a GTX 1650. Everything was working very smoothly until I experimented with Moonlight since I wanted to try it out and compare it with Parsec. I didn't like how Moonlight was performing and removed it from my system. Since then, my games have been running poorly; all games are running slow and sloppy now through Parsec including less demanding game titles. I've tried a few things: Updated my GTX 1650 to the latest drivers Updated Microsoft C++ redistribute to the most current version Tried to rollback to a point in Windows 10; unfortunately I didn't find another point before I installed Moonlight Did a deep scan for viruses and malware and nothing was detected Am completely lost on what happened! Can anyone please provide some assistance? Thanking you in advance.

Hey All! Right off the bat I want to mention I am new to this forum so please bear with me. I only have 1 desktop PC that is capable of playing games (Intel i3 4170 + Asus Strix 1060 6GB) but I am in a situation currently where I have 2 living 'residences". I also have a Chromebook C302 and I am interested in using Moonlight to stream games onto my Chromebook using the Android App. My intention is to keep the desktop at 1 place and use the Chromebook for my productivity and streaming using Moonlight for gaming. The location where the PC will be located has a download and upload speed of 120Mpbs/8-10Mpbs respectively. The location where I will primarily use the Chromebook has a download speed of 17Mbps and an upload speed of about 2Mbps. Will these speeds be sufficient to play Overwatch @ 1080p60? Note: The distance between the 2 locations according to Google Maps is about 65km if that is relevant!

Hello, I have an idea that I've been thinking of for a couple of weeks now and would like to ask for some input. I want to start a small cloud gaming business in the north of Europe. It would let you create an account and pay for hours, sort of like an internet café. The streaming solution I've looked at is moonlight, formerly limelight. It lets you use geforce gamestream a bit more freely. Maybe you could use an internet cafe software for logging in and launching games. It would also log out the customers when their time is out. Of course you would need to take some safety precautions to prevent people from doing illegal activities from your ip. Any ideas? Say I was going to start with 5 pc's. Would you build 5 separate computers and hook them all up to the web or would you do something like 7 gamers 1 CPU and rent out each VM? Sorry if this got a little messy or if it should have been in another sub-forum. I would greatly appreciate any feedback and tips. I have certenly not thought of everything, feel free to remind me of any potential problems I could run in to!

Looking for assistance on getting my port forwarding setup to run moonlight in order to stream my pc to my phone or my laptop for when I travel. My current router won't allow for multiple entries under tcp and ucd tabs. I have spectrum as a service provider. Anyone have a suggetion. As it stands if I can't get it ill have to build a router and use pfsense to control it but I'm hoping its an easier solution something I'm overlooking. Thanks all.

My gaming PC (running Win 10) is being used to use Moonlight to stream my video games, it was functioning correctly until today. It originally listed my PC's name but now says "unknown" and I can no longer stream my games. I had followed these instructions with port forwards on: TCP: 47984, 47989, 48010 UDP: 47998, 47999, 48000, 48002, 48010 When selecting my other devices, it lists their names. Only my gaming PC is not being listed correctly anymore. I can provide more info as needed. I'd rather not factory reset yet because it may interfere with my housemates' PS4s' settings. Using AT&T's Arris BGW210-700. Streaming to iOS and MacOS Mojave. Errors: Connection Failed: control stream establishment failed with error -1 RTSP Handshake

TLDR at the bottom Hello - I have been using Parsec Game Streaming for quite a while to access my gaming PC (Win10), and it works swell even with my garbage wireless card. I wish to be able to access my Mac in the same capacity, but there is no Parsec remote host for MacOS. The devs are focusing on Windows 10, and the only real alternative I can find is the built in VNC host, which has garbage performance and quality from my Win10 machines. The other possible solution I have found is a open source RDP server, but the one I found is made for Linux distros, not MacOS, and I cannot get it to work for MacOS even when compiling it myself with possible solutions. TLDR - looking for a remote access solution using a MacOS host with close to real time performance, high quality, and security. Clients would be Win10 or MacOS. Thanks!

Hi, This is my first post to the LTT forum and the subject I want to discuss is chrome os and chromebooks (that's a first). The main reason being that I recently purchased the Dell chromebook 13 (the cheap celeron one) and I would like to share my impressions and frustrations on the subject. First of all I would like to point out that I had my old laptop (the one I replaced with the Chromebook) for three years. It was my only computer for most of its life. As for its specs it was an i7 3630QM with a gtx 660m, 8gb of ddr3, an 256 gb ssd and 1tb HDD. This machine was not a laptop per say, it was heavy and bulky and on battery, it could browse the internets for around an hour before its next recharge. Performance wise it was not great either. Sure it could play whatever I threw at it but the experience was never satisfying (low res, low detail, low fps). So the day it died I decided to upgrade and the upgrade path would be 1000 euros the best thing I could buy for gaming, light cad applications, local data storage and backup. Now I searched a lot on this subject and I mean a lot, the only solution that makes sense at this price point is desktop pc for the heavy lifting and a cheap laptop with good display (combined with steam in home streaming, windows parity for NAS functionality and chrome remote desktop for everything else). Now for my needs I also purchased an android TV box but that is not relevant. The desktop pc specs are here if anyone is interested and the laptop of choice is this. Now I was ready to send the chromebook back the first ten days of living with it. First major problem was the installation of ubuntu via crouton. Due to dependency problems I couldn't install steam or KODI to it so no media and game streaming for me. VLC player was an option for videos and firefox for browsing in ubuntu but not much else I could do, I thought I might as well stick to the chrome os to get rid of the annoying developer mode ''welcome screen''. Another issue I encountered was every time I did a sudo apt-get update on linux, It destroyed my crouton setup and the only thing I could do was to reinstall everything. So because of these issues, I was very disappointed on my purchase at first. I was ready to break the seal and format the thing to a full linux (GalliumOs) machine but I reconsidered and gave chrome os another chance. I started by browsing for game stream solutions and I came across Moonlight for chrome os, (more on that here). Great overall solution for 1080p game streaming but it only works on nVidia cards. Input lag is low, graphics are great and 60 fps stream totally doable even on wifi. So I do play games smoother and at better quality than my previous laptop but only at home. Second problem is KODI. I use it a lot for media sharing in the house and I would like to have that function on my chromebook. The alternative for this is of course Plex. Chrome has a native Plex plugin that works pretty good on light weight hardware so problem solved. I do miss some KODI features but I hope that I get it with future android compatibility. The last thing I needed was to use autocad lt and sketchup for work on the move (trust me I am an engineer) and for that I ended up using my.sketchup and the good old chrome remote desktop for autocad. I know that online solutions are never the answer but I found that these are surprisingly not at all data hungry so my 5 gb mobile data plan is sufficient for my needs. So overall am I satisfied? Not completely but now I am better than my previous setup. To start with the pros the Dell chromebook 13 features one of the best 1080p IPS screens I have ever seen, the build quality is great with magnesium alloy body, carbon fiber screen cover and glass track-pad. It can also last from 6-10 hours with a single charge that takes around 45 minutes to complete and all that for around 400 euros. The cons are that chrome os lacks features and the machine lacks power and it shows at certain points. Would I recommend a chromebook as a daily driver? Surely but after android store compatibility becomes a thing. Thanks and sorry for the long post.

Hello. I decided to turn my Rasberry Pi 3 Model B into a streaming device. After installing moonlight and pairing it to my computer. When I run the command I get the error in the attached photo on the bottom of this post. I can't seem to find the issue. When i run the command, steam big picture launches and my computer says its connected to nvidia stream. Then I go back to the rasberry pi. The screen seems to have a transparent window open. I can see the rasberry pi's moving desktop and cpu status, but I cant click anywhere. Any help? Specs on computer: Intel i7 6700hq Windows 10 Nvidia 970M 3gb Nvidia Driver Version 364.72 Nvidia GeForce Version 2.11.2.55

Hey everyone! I got a question for you today. Is there any way I can lower the latency from my computer to my tablet when streaming games using Moonlight? I recently won a competition and a gaming tablet was one of the prizes. I say gaming, its more of a regular tablet with a controller grip bundled with it. So I have decided to use it for Moonlight, more formally known as Limelight. It works fine for the first few seconds, but then suddenly the quality drops. My computer is connected to the internet through powerline and the tablet wireless-ly. Any help is appreciated, thanks.
