Hello all, I am going to build my very first PC soon and I was browsing NZXT's page for my CPU cooler (x61) and stumbled across the G10. I scrolled down to the compatibility of GPUs and saw the gtx 970 I have the GTX 970 mini by Asus (https://pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-video-card-gtx970dcmoc4gd5) and I was wondering that if my GPU is compatible with the G10. If not, I am looking forward to water cool my gpu with a block of some sort that the radiator is 120mm and direct ( what NZXT wanted with the G10 ) Thanks in advance!

So I bought the Asus 970 Strix because it was on sale. But after I bought it, and overclocked it, I wanted it to run cool. So I thought about putting the Kraken G10 on it. BUT the issue with it is that the Strix 970 is not compatible, only because the VRM is on the opposite side of the fan on the G10. I was curious, I have the NZXT Phantom 410, so if I were to put a fan on the side panel as intake, so that it would be blowing on to the GPU, would that be enough cooling for the VRM? Or would I have to modify the G10 so it would cool the VRM?

For anyone still wondering if the Kraken G10 will work on a GTX 970 FTW+ I can confirm it does. The downside is you will have to remove the back plate. The mid-plate is fine but it is recommended to put heatsinks over the vrm area and on the back on the ram. It looks awesome and have dropped my temps from 80 degrees on load to never getting above 55 degrees. Also no shims or special washers and screws are required. It is not that difficult to install but it can get a little frustrating. Hope this helps and answers the question I was trying to get an answer for like a week before I descided to just find out for myself.

Hello guys, I have a bit of an unusual question for you and you may not have the answer to it. I have a EVG GTX 970 with the ACX 2.0 cooler on it and I recently ordered a backplate for my card. However I also ordered a NZXT Kraken G10 to watercool this 970. But the thing that didn't come to my mind when buying the G10 was if the backplate for the card was going to be able to fit with the G10 mounted to it as well... From what it looks like, the G10's "backplate" can sit quite high above the card's PCB on the back and the EVGA backplate has cutouts for the 4 GPU screws so this should mean that I am going to be able to use both the backplate and G10 at the same time but I would rather ask this here so I don't run out and buy a watercooler only to find I can't use of those. I would rather mount the backplate to the GPU that go with a watercooler because the card just doesn't look nice with its bare PCB gathering dust like crazy in my windowed system. But I would be really happy to find I can use both because right now, I can't mount a radiator anywhere in my case and that's why in a few months I will buy the Phanteks Enthoo pro to accommodate future system upgrades/systems altogether. There's a second reason as to why I would install the backplate rather than the watercooler: the RAM chips on the back are not even passively cooled and get really, REALLY hot since I have overclocked the memory massively and it does start to artifact a tiny bit after a whole day of gaming and I would really like these chips to be cooled by the backplate (which is, yes, functional as well as aesthetically pleasing). And I don't really know which watercooler I would choose if I could fit both. Maybe a slim Corsair 140mm unit because the back of the Phanteks Enthoo Pro has a 140mm fan mount. Thanks for an answer if you manage to figure out what would happen were I to put both on my 970. I really don;t expect anyone to be sure about that unless you have done exactly the same thing. Regards

Hi @ all, I am searching for a way to improve thermals on my 970 and in my rig overall. At idle, both the Strix Cooler as well as the Dark Rock 3 do their job at keeping things nice and quiet. However, under heavy load (e.g. in my case Witcher 3, with pins both the GPU as well as CPU at 100% flat (CPU especially within cities)), after a while, temps rise to 70°C (GPU) and 60°C ish (CPU), while increasing noise levels. Obviously, this is due to my case, a Sharkoon T9 Value, which only sports two intakes and one exhaust in the back. Sure, the temps are well within bounds, but it kinda bothers me and I think the Strix could be a good deal quieter. So, options: - get the Kraken G10 (40€) and a 120mm AIO, e.g. an H75, which currently clocks in at ~80€ and change to get the heat straight out of the case in the rear (airflow is and will stay front to back, which means the AIO would've to deal with the air exhausted from the DR3 - for ~120 bucks or a bit more, I could easily get a new case with improved airflow, e.g. Fractal Design R5, NZXT H440 and such Questions: - I have no experience whatsoever with AIO's in terms of cooling power. Is a single 120 rad enough? Thin / thick rad?- - what about noise? The pump is on at all times and I've heard different things about how noticeable it is (noise is always kind of objective) - using 5 pin GPU adapters and Molex-powered PWM-splitters, all fans could be controlled by the GPU, so fan noise should be manageable - what keeps me from buying a case is that it may not resolve the problem - the AIO transfers the heat out of the case straight Open for any input, opinions and suggestions Best regards

Hi guys i have a 100% working SLI with a ASUS GeForce GTX 780 Ti and a ASUS ROG Matrix GTX 780 Ti. But the problem with the Graphics Cards are they overheat in games like GTA-V. So i got the idea to water cool them on the easy way with the Kraken G10.... But can it fit on my Graphics Cards? (Just before someone ask why i dont have 2 of the same Graphics Cards then its because i got the matrix for the half price NEW.... and they stopped making the 780 Ti)

I have question about Kraken G10 GPU cooler. First of all I would like to ask if I could even put that cooling system on R9 390 nitro with backplate? Another question would be about cooling performance. Would G10 with Kraken X31 provide lower temperatures? Any idea about some real temperature differences etc.? I'm also wondering if that would void my GPU warranty? That GPU have a bit fan bearing problem, and I already contacted Sapphire about that, but they said that noise is in normal range so they wouldn't approve RMA for that probbably. Friend of mine have spare X31 Kraken and he is willing to sell me one for 30$ and that seems like dirt cheap for me. It's still original packed X31 kraken and was never opened ... saw it myself. I was hoping to get custom cooling loop for my PC, but that would cost 350€ +, and also there isn't any wateblock for my GPU avaliable and even if there were, I would need to pay another 120€ for it. But I can get Kraken G10 for 30€ + Kraken X31 for 30€ so 60€ doesn't seems so bad, if that would work. Under load my temps right now are around 70°C, so I'm hoping that with G10 and X31 my temps would be around 60°C ? Or even if there were just 5°C temp difference under load I would be fine with it because it would elimiante my fan bearing problem with GPU. But main concern is about GPU warranty. It's 350€ worth GPU and I don't like the idea of loosing that amount of money if by any miracle that GPU would break because some manafacture problem etc. Any experiences with Sapphire warranty when you removed stock cooler? I would put stock cooler back once I would have to RMA or whatever, but that warranty sticker would be dammaged or removed. So please let me know if you guys had any problems with sapphire warranty in case like that, or if you have any experience with G10 + X31 kraken temperatures on GPU

Kraken G10 and ARCTIC Liquid Freezer 120?
The Hippo posted a topic in Custom Loop and Exotic Cooling
Hi. I want to know if the Kraken G10 is compatible with the ARCTIC Liquid Freezer 120? -
On a graphics card I intend to connect Kraken G10 with Thermaltake Water 3.0 Performer. Now I would like to know where to connect 3 pin connector of watercooler head? Should I buy a 3 pin Y splitter and connect it together with fan of the G10 on fan slot in graphic card? Should I connect it to the motherboard (any fan slot or specificly on slot for watercooler heads, if there is any difference), or should I plug it with 4-pin molex direct to the AC adapter? I would be very grateful for any answers.

Hello all, Watched LTT for years but first time posting on the forums. Please forgive my ignorance if I've posted this in the wrong place etc. I'd like to fit my, now excess, Corsair H75 onto my MSI GTX 970 (Twin Frozr, if that's relevant) using the Kraken G10 bracket. Since I'm upgrading my CPU cooler anyway and the bracket is only £20 I went ahead and ordered it anyway but I have some concerns. Firstly I'm concerned that the bracket won't provide sufficient cooling to the onboard memory for the card. I know it comes with a small-ish fan to blow cool air onto the memory but I suspect I might need to purchase an additional heatsink in order to make this actually do anything? My second concern is that the MSI card has some fairly beefy heat transfer pipes that make me wonder if they've significantly altered the thermal layout compared to the reference NVIDIA card with which the G10 is supported. Hopefully some others have tread this path before me and can share their experiences with fitting a G10 onto the MSI 970. -T

So, I've just reinstalled my Kraken completly after some problems with the temperature. And I don't know if this is bad or not, because I didn't really check when all was good either.

So basically I have 2 Gigabyte 7950s and they are coming apart at the seams, cooler wise. The shroud fell off, one fan fin broke, and the list goes on. I was looking into a Kraken cooling solution, which thankfully still is compatible with my cards. However I don't have a clue of where to put the radiators if i were to buy them. Here is my planned list of parts 2 Kraken G10 2 Corsair h55 2 Shims for 7950 My Case is the Rosewill Rise, and here is the radiator/ fan compatibility pic. I have already installed 3 Truequiet 120s in the front, one Truequiet 120 + Seidon 120V on top left, and Truequiet 140s at top right and Rear i/o One idea was to place both rads on the front, like the below pic, but i don't know if the screwhole placement in the Rise makes that possible, or just shear length of the H55 tubing

I'm thinking about picking up a Kraken g10 and it has a list of compatible coolers which is nice. But I own a Sentry case which I had bought because on description it said compatible with most coolers. Below is the list of all coolers compatible with the g10 and the case I own. Now some of the coarsir ones look like they might work if I remove one of the existing case fans and install it that way. https://www.nzxt.com/product/detail/138-kraken-g10-gpu-bracket.html http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811322018

My main rig has a 4790k with an H100i, dual 780's with Kraken G10s each with an H55. I want to have a secondary rig that I can quickly put one 780 into so I can play with friends etc. My current secondary rig ie my parents' is an old Inpiron 531 with an Athlon X2 4000. I need help with building the smallest PC possible to replace this bottlenecked turd. I already have a NAXN 500w power supply I can use, and I am just going to get better RAM for my rig and give the secondary my old set. I plan to use the Pentium G3258 since it'll just be cruising the web and gaming oriented, and when I don't have a 780 in it it's just getting a 750. What I need help with is finding the smallest case and cheapest motherboard that has full sized dimms that I can shove the stock cooler pentium and my Kraken G10 powered 780. Alot I know but I need help lol.

Hello, I've been constructing a parts list for a computer that I am planning on building over the summer. Since I don't have a lot of money to drop, but I want to experiment with overclocking, I'm buying a Cooler Master Nepton 240M and a Kraken G10 bracket to replace the cooler on a MSI GTX 970, so I can push the card really far. The problem however, is that all of the research that I have been doing into the use of Kraken G10 brackets with some AIO cooler on it seems to result in EITHER people saying that it's a good idea, OR it's a bad idea because the vRAM doesn't get cooled, OR that it's still a good idea because the Kraken g10's fan cools the vRAM, OR it doesn't matter because vRAM doesn't get hot enough for the issue to arise in the first place. On top of all of this, nobody seems to have any numbers, because the few programs that support vRAM temperature monitering only seem to support a very select group of cards, as I haven't found any data on how hot the vRAM gets, so I have no real reason to believe anyone's statements.

Recently, I attached a AIO to my Asus r9 290 with the kraken g10 bracket. When I booted up, everything was fine and dandy, and stayed that way even while watching videos on YouTube. However, when I first attempted to boot up a game, the game ran for about 30 seconds, and then my computer rebooted it self. After the reboot, I couldn't get any video signal, and had to hard power cycle my machine. The vrm temps seem to be not at the levels that would cause this kind of thing, so I am absolutely stumped. Any help I could get would be wonderful, thank you guys.

Hey guys! Looking for Kraken G10 users here. I've just finished my install of the Kraken G10 with the Corsair H55 AIO cooler for my XFX R9 290X DD edition GPU. I'm running in a Silverstone RVZ01 Mini ITX case, so the temps were getting a bit higher than I'd like while gaming. After the installation of the Kraken G10, my idle temps are a good 10-15 degrees lower, however, whenever the GPU is under any load, the temps skyrocket to the point where the GPU starts throttling almost immediately. As a side note, due to physical restraints, I had to use a slim 120mm fan for the radiator. It's a Silverstone FW121 (static pressure of 1.53 mmH2O and airflow of 32.6 CFM at 100%). I tried the rad as both intake and exhaust and tested both push and pull. Nothing seems to help. I'd like to say it sort of works since my ambient temp is down by a lot, but I don't know why it gets so hot so quickly. Any input would be much appreciated . Side Note: I still have the original fan that came with the H55. I could possibly mount it externally, but there are some clearance issues with the radiator on the inside without it elevated by the slim 120mm fan...)

So, I've had my Kraken for about two weeks now, and I'm really happy with it. Just one thing, I'm a little worried about the Vrm temps.. I've searched alot on the Internet, and nearly everyone say something different, which gives me mixed feelings. My Pc has never crashed since I got it, but on the other hand, I have never played any game for more than 4 hours in a row. I'm not planning to overclock, and I don't care about bench scores either. I just want to know if the fan that came with it is enough to cool the vrm? Or do I need to buy a heatsink? Thanks in advance. 780Ti H75 with Kraken G10

I saw that on the NZXT site it says that the kraken g10 supports the 980, but is it just the reference design? or does it also support non-reference designs as well? Thanks
