Hello everybody, I was just cleaning my monitor inspecting for dead pixel and I came across this weird pixel that doesn't seem to look like a stuck pixel according to some dead pixel test online. It doesn't look like a dead pixel either since it is colores and changes color according to my viewing angle. I find it unacceptable that lcds come with these types of defects, I'm on my third Viewsonic XG2405 and it is a very good monitor but the quality control kinda dissapointed me. What do you guys think? I don't live in a developed country and the warranty only covers 5 stuck/dead pixels and the store warranty expired just 6 days after the purchase (I've been using the monitor for almost 6 months).

Hello, I have these 3 alternatives to choose from: SAMSUNG S24F350FHW: http://www.samsung.com/in/business/business-products/monitor/led-monitor/LS24F350FHWXXL Dell SE2416H: http://www1.la.dell.com/vc/en/corp/peripherals/dell-se2416h-monitor/pd.aspx?refid=dell-se2416h-monitor&s=corp Asus VZ249H: https://www.asus.com/Monitors/VZ249H/specifications/ I am favoring the Samsung one as it has Freesync(small range 48-72 Hz, but better than nothing. I'm an AMD card user and play games). What do you guys think? Your help will be much appreciated. Thanks. P.S. Please don't refer to any other monitors as these are the only ones available in where I live within my budget/size. If I find any new ones, I'll add.

I watched this video and this monitor sounds great but it is expensive. I need new monitor, my current one is old (about 15 years) and has started to trigger my ocular migraines. A person recommended that I purchase a 144Hz monitor to mitigate my migraines. I want an IPS monitor because I use Photoshop (CS5). My plan is to buy a EVGA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti GAMING, 04G-P4-6251-KR, 4GB GDDR5, ACX 2.0 graphics card. It cost more than I desire, but I also use PowerDirector 14 for video editing. I do not want to buy a graphics card more than a monitor can handle or not enough for a monitor. Two Questions: Do I get the Acer Predator XB270HU shown in the video or is there a lower cost comparable monitor? Is the graphics card mentioned the right choice for the monitor and software?

Hey guys I'm a first time computer monitor buyer, and I just had a few questions. I'm looking at an IPS monitor because I know that IPS have true colors and higher resolution quality. So I'm trying to figure out whether to choose TN or IPS. Heres what Ill be using the monitor for. -Digital Drawings -Graphic Designing -Animation But also for gaming, such as -Counter Strike -BF1 -Fallout So my question is am I risking the quality of gaming by ips with graphic ghosting and slower reaction time for color, or am i risking color quality when trying to design and create images for faster reaction time and gameplay by choosing TN? THIS IS THE MONITOR IM LOOKING AT http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236584&SortField=0&SummaryType=0&PageSize=10&SelectedRating=-1&VideoOnlyMark=False&ignorebbr=1&IsFeedbackTab=true#scrollFullInfo

I have been looking around for a good budget is monitor and I've came to decide on the water vg270 or the rg270, I can’t find the differences and I’ve seen some confusion on faulty screens. If anyone could clear this up for me, it would be a great help.

Hey everyone, This is my first post on this forum, happy to be here. Anyway, my question is regarding this monitor: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VFPYRP3?tag=amazondn01-20. It claims to be 144hz, 1080p, 1ms response time, and IPS, but all for under $200 USD. It just seems a little sketchy to me considering most other monitors of this description (all those features + IPS) are in the $400 - $1000 USD range. As I understand it, this is the second iteration of this monitor and the first iteration was not very well received. There are only 6 reviews on Amazon, so I was just wondering if anyone on here has any experience with this monitor. Thanks in advance.

Hi guys, My boss has tasked me with getting us new monitors & PC's as our current ones are getting old... It's been years since I last looked into building a PC so I’m unfamiliar with who makes the best hardware right now so hopefully you guys can help! There's only 3 of us so I’m happy to build them if there are significant performance gains over purchasing a prebuilt machine. Okay so here's the important information. We're web developers in the UK so essentially we need machines that can crunch code as quickly and efficiently as possible and be reliable. I must stress that no gaming will be done on these builds. As well as this we need a monitor that has a good quality picture that won't fatigue our eyes over long periods of time. The boss said he wants a 4k monitor but I'm not sure if it’s realistic with the budget... We've got a budget of £1000 per setup, we do not need any other peripherals and it must include windows 10 pro. Looking forward to hearing your advice and learning! Harry

Hey everyone, I recently ordered a new Acer K272HUL off Newegg when it was on sale for $225 AR. I'm planning on using it for some light Photoshop work, gaming, and ordinary everyday use. My biggest concern about the monitor is it's color accuracy and gamut (especially at its relatively low price point), as the point of purchasing an IPS monitor is good color reproduction. One review of the monitor (http://www.digitaltrends.com/monitor-reviews/acer-k272hul-review/) includes a section regarding this, and explains they were able to achieve optimal color reproduction at 20% brightness and the monitor's warm color temperature preset. But even with their tuning, the panel's performance still wasn't quite spectacular. My question is, do any of you have experience using/tuning this monitor, and is there a way to get even better colors from it? On a side note, can this monitor also overclock its refresh rate, and by how much?

With this combo deal that comes with a free Asus VN2478H-P IPS 23.8in IPS monitor (same one I have) you could slap a gtx 960 in this and have a beast system!

I just got this Asus VN248H-P IPS monitor from newegg for $140! No matter what I do, what settings I change on the monitor, or in amd ccc, the yellows are too "strong", like on newegg's yellow buttons and background. It seems to just change some colors to a yellow tint...including Linus and Luke's skin on the wan show! The gray and white colors are not as pronounced as I would like as well... The grays are a little too dark and again, yellowish, while the whites are just not as bright or truly white (have a grayish tint). Found this image that looks like the problem I am having The monitor's controls and amd ccc seem limited in what I can adjust my monitor to look like.

Hello everyone, this is my first review of a tech product and so please be merciful when reading through this and try not to rip it to shreds. The review is for the "LG 24MP55HQ-P 24" LED Full HD IPS HDMI Monitor" which is as you all know, good for better colour reproduction and better image quality. I'm a gamer, who had been using an ASUS TN paneled monitor, so for me this was a fairly big leap and quite frankly, a product that I'm very happy with. Does this mean it will be as good, if you already have an IPS LED monitor? Probably not. Image Quality The image quality is very good, in fact, everything just seems more clear in general. Text is clear and unlike my previous TN paneled monitor, the text does not look poor at an unusual angle. The monitor features a 'reader mode' which essentially makes it easier to read text, which is a handy feature to have. What do you do on a PC when not playing a game? Yes exactly reading on websites, for example this forum. It has a 72% colour gamut, which if my memory serves me well, means how accurate the colours are to the real thing. 72% is the standard for most IPS monitors so there is really anything to say about that, except the colours are very accurate even for the percentage. The initial setup when I first plugged it in made the whites a bit yellow, but in less than 30 seconds I had that sorted and it looked 110% nicer. It has a repsonse time of 5ms, but the monitor allowed me to select a higher or lower response time. Build Quality The build quality is okay, not the best, but not the worst. the stand feels a bit flimsy and it does tend to wobble if you have an unstable desk or workspace, but for me a person with a stable desk, this did not happen. The back of the monitor is also of okay quality but it has a sturdy feeling behind it, basically think of it like this. It is made from an okay plastic, but it feels sturdy when touching it. If that makes sense. What would you expect from a £123.99 monitor. For what you pay you definitely get a monitor that is more than decently built. Features The monitor features an HDMI port, VGA port and an audio in connection. I use VGA for my monitor, mainly because HDMI tends to over sharpen images and I can't be bothered with the hassle of sorting it out. I'm sure people would probably want to see a DVI port, but for me the VGA or HDMI ports are more than adequate for myself. I has nice little features like 'reader mode' while also having another feature called 'SUPER+ RESOLUTION' that helps to detect rough edges and blurring in contents when enlarged. There are many more features that I haven't used and doubt I will but the link to the page will be available at the end. Conclusion So is this IPS LED monitor good? Yes it is amazing for the price, for £123.99 it is a steal and you won't find a better one for that price. The build could be better but then again a monitors focus is image quality if they have to sacrifice build quality for price and amazing image quality then so be it. Would i recommend this? Yes, one hundred times over. I would personally give it 4.5/5. Thank you for reading and I hope I did a fairly decent job of my first review. So I'm on the hunt for monitors for a dual 1080p setup, I explain this further in my post I made a few days ago. The monitor that I have found that fits all my needs, and has some added features on top of that is the Dell U2414H. This monitor has all the connections I need, is the perfect screen size, is IPS, and as a bonus it has an extremely thin bezel, which is perfect because I want to use these in a dual monitor setup. But I want an opinion from all of you about this monitor, reviews say its very good monitor, but it could be one of those products where everyone's dies after 6 months to a year, my current monitor has been running perfectly for 5 years and has had 0 issues, and I would like to have the same experience with this monitor. The only downside I see to this monitor is that it has a 8ms response time, which I heard increases blur, because my current monitor has a 2ms response so I don't want to buy this monitor and get a worse experience. Also the price is a little steep but I can find it for a little less than $250 on most sites. So what do you guys think of this monitor? Also feel free to suggest similar monitors with comparable features if you believe they are better than this one.

Ok some of you may remember me from this post, and this one, and this one. I'm hunting for the ultimate IPS monitor for console gaming, pc gaming, and general use, and I'm gonna need 2 of them for a dual monitor setup. In my previous thread I worded things a little too complicated, so for this thread I'm just going to cut to the chase and give you a list of requirements for monitors. Any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated! Requirements: 23-26 Inches in Size - anything smaller and I can't stand the limited real estate, and anything bigger makes it feel like I'm using a TV and probably won't fit my setup. So must be 23-26 inches!, I stressed this in my previous post and some of the better monitors suggested were only 21 inches or 27 inches, I want the same great finds but in a 23-26 inch package. For reference my current monitor is 24.4 inches IPS - Its in the title! long story short I've been using 2 extremely low contrast TN panels for 5 years now and I can't stand the flat colors and bad viewing angles. HDMI and DVI - Must have either 2 HDMI ports, or 1 HDMI port and a DVI port, or 2 HDMI and a DVI port, as long as it has at least 1 HDMI and a DVI/HDMI port. I hope this makes sense. I'm using an Xbox One and a pc going to both displays, so 1 HDMI is required and then another HDMI or DVI port is required, and obviously having more than these requirements is only a good thing. Audio Out Jack - This is very important because again I'm using an Xbox One on this and I don't have a system that would use the optical audio port, so having an audio out jack is necessary because I don't want to get stuck with either A) using built in speakers or B) (lol "B)" turned into " B) ") having no audio at all if the monitor doesn't even have built in speakers. So I need the audio out to connect to my desktop speakers. Trusted Brand - I don't want no acer or AOC, I've only heard bad things about these brands, they might have products that look good on the outside but usually have terrible long term reliability and quality control. So it has to be a trusted brand like Dell, Asus, LG, or any brands that are widely known for having good long lasting products and good quality control. Non Glossy - I think glossy finishes just ruin the display if you have a setup where glare is very apparent which is the case for me at certain times of day and when I have certain lights on. So a matte display would be preferable, and this is for the actual screen, if the bezel is glossy or not I don't care. Thinks That Don't Matter: Stand - I don't care if the stand has swivel or adjustable height, I usually stick with the default height and do minor tilt adjustments, and I don't plan on using any special VESA mount so that isn't required. I do mind if the stand is really really bad, many monitors I've looked at so far have had many bad reviews because the stand was either extremely wobbly, loose, or even broke. Bezel - I don't care about the bezel even thought its a dual monitor setup, I'm not doing surround gaming or anything like that. Anything will do as long as the bezel is not obviously intrusive and horrendous. For reference my current monitor has a 5/8 inch bezel and I think its not bad at all. Built in Speakers - For reference my current monitor has built in speakers and I have never heard them and I never will. So it doesn't matter if they're there or not I'll probably never use them. Configure-ability - I don't fiddle with the settings much, all I do when calibrating a display is make sure the contrast is balanced and brightness is max, that's all I need, some find a display with limited configuration a bad thing, but the less sliders the better for me. Sorry if I sound a bit demanding with my requirements, but monitors are a long term investment to me, as I stated I've been using the same monitor for 5 years and have had absolutely zero issues, and I want to have the same experience again with a monitor that's not going to fail in 6 months, or arrive with a ton of dead pixels. I'm getting close to making my finale decision and I just want to see if anyone can suggest something that will make me reconsider which monitors I pick. And again all suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
-
Sorry for the wall of text, but monitors are a serious long-term investment type thing to me, so I either get the perfect ones for the task at hand, or don't get any at all if they don't meet the demand (anyone get that rhyme?). So I really need some new monitors, I've been settling with what I've had for years, and when I say years I mean one of the displays I use is from 2006 and the other from 2009. The first display is the one I use for my Xbox 360 and Xbox One, I currently have to switch the hdmi cables every time I want to switch consoles, but by the time I get new monitors I won't need the 360 because all the games that I do play will be ported to xbox one or I probably won't want to play them anymore, so only one hdmi port is necessary, but the display is a Sharp LC26DV20U with some negative aspects like the oddest resolution of 768p, which makes all my games look blurry because its not a resolution supported by either console and no games run at this resolution, the bezels are like 2 inches thick on all sides and 5 inches on the bottom with the speakers, and a lacking contrast ratio of 800:1, also its like 35 pounds! The only good features are that it has an HDMI port, which is pretty insane for being 8 years old, the internal speakers are actually pretty usable and have good bass, and it only has a ~12ms delay which as far as I know is too low to be noticeable. The monitor I use is a lot nicer of a story, its a Hanns.g HZ251, it has the same lacking contrast ratio of 800:1 making the image look flat a lot, the internal speakers are completely garbage, as many are, the bezels could be thinner but they're actually quite thin, but they're weirdly rounded and I hate the glossy plastic used. The nice features are that it is full 1080p, the menus are so simple and theres only few settings that need tweaking, which is a plus for me, and it only has a 2ms delay which is pretty nice for being 5 years old. Currently these displays are across the room from each other and I constantly move from my desk to my chair to play games on console and work on my PC. So my plan is to get a bigger desk and have a 2 monitor setup with my PC displaying to both monitors when I'm gaming or doing general PC work stuff, then if I want to game on console I just switch the input on one of the monitors to go to the xbox one. Then I can comfortably console game from my desk and have the other monitor for doing PC stuff while I use the xbox at the same time. And I do record my PC footage, so with this setup I can get an elgato or something like that someday to record xbox footage since the PC will be right next to it. My challenge is to find the right monitors. My prefered specs would be 1080p resolution - I have no need for anything higher, also it has to be 1080 not 1200p, because a 16:10 aspect ratio will mess with the xbox one - 24-26 inches - anything smaller than 24 in is just too small for me and it feels cramped, and anything bigger than 26 in just feels like a TV to me, also my current monitor is 24.5 in so I'm most comfortable with that - at least 1 HDMI and DVI port - again I will have an xbox one running to one monitor and my PC will have 2 DVI cables with 1 going to each monitor - good color and contrast ratio - anything better than 800:1 for the contrast ratio and for color I would like IPS, but a comparable tn or other display type would be acceptable - build in speakers won't matter - I'm getting high quality desktop ones soon - stand swivel and height adjustment don't matter - i'm usually ok with a fixed height and I don't need to turn the displays to go vertical or anything like that - and of course price, I plan to only spend $500 max on both monitors - I don't know if this is too little, too much, or just right? But if the monitors you guys present to me have compelling features, color quality, meet all my demands, or whatever I will consider spending a bit over $500 and maybe bump my budget up to $600. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

I'm looking for a new display, Where can you get a good cheap 1440p monitor in Australia? I don't think I'd be game to spend much more than 350 though. If that doesnt work, what are some good ~ $200 displays that are 1080p? I would prefer an IPS panel. This is in Australia by the way as well. Thanks for the help!
