When I boot the icons are there right away but these little arrows on the icons dont show up vor like 2-5 seconds. I dont care about the arrows, but the computer is completly unresponsiv until they load. This arrow!!! Its on every icon exept This PC and the trasbin Tried clearing the icon cache, updating nvidia, intel, samsung (drive) driver, tried uninstaling apps, nothings helps. Specs: Win 11 64bit Intel i7 11700F Asus Tuf B560M-Plus Gainward Phoenix 3070 32 GB 3200Ghz Micron Samsung 970 EVO Plus (Main Drive with two partitions, one for the OS one for games) Samsung 860 Evo & Intel SSDSC2BW240H6 (Game drives) Corsair RM750 Arctic frezzer 240 Sorry if there are grammatical or spelling errors i am not englisch

On my Oneplus 10 pro the top bar, where you see your battery life wifi signal and so on, cut the mobile data icon off and from there on to the left shows no other icons even though there should be more. I have already restarted it, where it got stuck in a boot loop for around 5h and it did not help with the icon problem and i use the newest firmware. Greetings from Germany

Hi. When i rearrange my desktop icons to a square in the bottom left corner, they split into two groups and it's almost like the screen is in two halves too. Half of the icons go to the far left of the screen in a line, whereas the other half of the icons go to the left side of the right half of the screen in a cluster. What causes this and how can i fix it? Thanks in advance!

I unplugged my monitor now the icons look like this and I can't move them to the bottom, they are separated far apart. Whenever I try to move them to the bottom they teleport back to the top left corner, how do I fix this?

Can anyone shed any light on this issue? - I had three rows of application icons in the taskbar under windows 10 (I know), I have upgraded to Win11 and now all the icons that were past the right hand edge of the taskbar that you could access with up and down arrows are no longer accessible unless removing icons from the visible taskbar. So I know the old ones are there - but can't seem to be accessed. Should I perhaps remove them all and re apply the ones I want keeping to what's visible or.. ??? TIA.. Cheers -

I'm having a problem with my Windows 10. Lately, the little corner icons on my desktop's thumbnails (the ones with the curved arrows that tell you they are shortcuts) change, for whatever reason, into different icons. I had installed Folding@home before that happened so I presumed that might have caused it. I removed it but the problem persisted and, one time, my keyboard layout even went messed up. A good reboot did get rid of the problem but only temporarily. I figured it might've been malware, so I decided to wipe my hard disk drives, using DBAN and reinstall Windows 10. But just today, I experienced the problem yet again! Please see the attached image. So what it actually going on? Has anyone else experienced this issue before? I'll be glad to answer any questions if it helps get to the bottom of it. P.S. i installed classic shell and startup sound changer but after a restart this happened. im uninstalled startup sound changer but icon are still gone. i was thinking of deleting my user and remaking it. windows 10 pro anniversary update

Hello! I've had this issue after I updated to Creators Update. I reinstalled the PC then, now it was Creators Update from the start. It was very timely anyway. But after a full clean install (of course, I've only formatted the SSD), the problem came back. This video explains everything. ( Windows 10 1703 15063.296 (non-pirate, OEM ;)) i5 4690 (no overclock, just performance mode of Asrock motherboard) Gigabyte G1 GTX 960 16 GB Kingston Fury RAM 3 Monitors (2x[1280*1024]; 1x[1920*1080]) (before reinstall I only had one [1280*1024]) 250 GB Kingston 3K SSD 1 TB WD Blue Zalman Z1 case If anything else is needed, well, you know. Let me know. ) If this has been solved anywhere on the internet, or even this forum, I couldn't find it, sorry. I've searched. I just wanted to say that it is very hard at a glance to see where the stickies end and where the dynamic topics begin in the programming section because the small circle icon looks similar. Changing the sticky icon size might make the site a bit more user friendly.

Hey,just had this problem myself,heres how i fixed it 1. Right click on the problem shortcut and go to "properties" 2.Hit "change Icon" then "browse" 3.Navigate to the install directory of said game (for me its D:\Games\steamapps\common\L.A.Noire) 4.Look for the games .exe and select it 5.Choose whichever res you want and hit "Ok" 6. Hit "apply" And you are done. Hope this helps!

Hey, i found a weird problem on my desktop. The icon ''home network group'' (i don't know the exact name im sorry. I come from germany) seems to be unremovable. I tried to delete it with Right-Click and per drag and drop into the trash can. I cannot find any support e-mail from microsoft and the live-chat doesn't work for some reason. And im not going to pay 20cent for a phone call just because a god damn icon is unremovable. -Icefly

ok so. this isn't your "the pictures wont load for (integer) seconds" this is "Windows 10 desktop icons physically take a good 2 minutes to appear" mind you, win10 gaming pc gtx 1050 (ayy,i ain't got no money). some days, "wo hoo, 9 second boot (jk like 30 seconds) and into YouTube we go! other days, "logged in, aaand crap" (so like two minutes later), *poof*, "sorcery" patterns: if you open a program with the cursor, they (the icons) will never load icons appear in "Desktop" folder taskbar does load, along with its programs so help me pc master race

So My File Explorer is glitching out and making these strange black boxes and weird lines, its not affecting performance just the look of it and how I'm able to navigate through it. I am using some custom ico's as you can see. But this just started happening and I have been using these for weeks. Also If I restart the pc it seems to go away. I think the glitches get triggered when I connect my iPhone to my pc through usb. Any tips on what to do to stop this is much appreciated! <3

Hello, my taskbar icons all blink once when I move items to the recycling bin, and then flash again when I delete or remove items already in the recycling bin, anyone know a fix to this? I have tried to clean install and update all drivers but nothing seems to fix it.

Hi there! I'm at a loss here so im turning to the forums here for wisdom Recently i figured that i wanted to move my secondary monitor to the right instead of the left and add a monitor arm to clean up my desk, no problemo. I set everything up and then i rearrange in windows so the monitor is seen on the right, click apply and go about my day. After a while i take a break from my gaming session, turn off computer and come back later. When i boot up again my icons are split across the 2 monitors, i frown at this and manually set them back to the primary screen and resume my gaming session. I take another break and turn off my computer only to return a bit later to the same problem. Annoyed i set about to try and solve this, i try everything i could think off aswell as things suggested on google searches: turning off windows auto-rearrange, setting different icon sizes, reinstalling displaydrivers, changing which monitor is primary and secondary then change it back. The only thing that sorta works is creating a folder on the secondary screen while everything else is on the primary screen, then everything stays where it's supposed to be, but that kinda urks me so its not an acceptable solution for me. Rearranging the display back to the left side also solves it, but rather have it on the right. It seems that every other side other than the left in windows(and nvidia controlpanel) throws my icons around. This happens as soon as the secondary monitor turns off or reconfigured in general TL;DR: Moved my monitor to the right side of my primary monitor, rearranged it and my icons throw a fit

No matter how many times I set and unset Visual Studio 2019 as my default program for .sln files, it still uses the icon from Visual Studio C# 2010 Express. I use 2010 Express when marking for a course to ensure that my version of VS is the same as what the students use, just in case, but VS 2019 for my own use. This pictures shows what I mean. You can see that, circled (or, boxed, I guess?), .suo files have behaved normally since installing VS 2019. I've tried clearing my IconCache, but to no avail.

Hello forums I have run into some problems regarding my monitor and image quality. It appears that smaller fonts and icons on my main monitor is kinda blurred and on my second monitor the text and icons are crystal clear. I use the MSI monitor because it's 144hz and great for gaming. Both monitors are 1080p 27" monitors. My second one is an ACER monitor which I use for coding, media etc. The attached images show the differences in quality. I don't know if compression makes it hard to tell. I have tried making adjustments in DPI in the windows display options. I have tried calibrating the monitor in windows. I have tried changing settings in the nVidia control panel. The monitor is connected to my nvidia GTX 1070 graphics card through display port. And I have updated every single possible video card or monitor driver I can imagine. I'm at wits end here. I don't know what to for for any more to find some answers. Please help. Because I spent quite a lot of money on this monitor for FPS gaming, and I can't seem to get a crystal clear image. [EDIT] Since the images were no help I have written in the comments below my reasoning/troubleshooting steps. See if you can help please. I don't understand what's going on here. -
As you can see in the picture above, my desktop icons occasionally will get these weird box when I hover over them. This only started once I got a second monitor. When I restart my computer, it goes away. Anyone have idea of what might cause this. It's not really a big deal but annoying and disconcerting.

Hi folks Can someone point me in the right direction without answering with nova launcher please. I'm using nova launcher and have been for years. What I'm trying to find is a launcher that automatically gives the icons a drop shadow effect, regardless what theme pack for icons is installed. I've found an app that is supposed to give the same effect but it doesn't work and the developer doesn't respond to emails I'm hoping someone here knows what I'm looking for and can point me in the right direction. I miss the drop shadows of my ios 6.. I'm using samsung galaxy s9 Please help

Not a huge deal, but I figured I would ask here and see if anyone knows a solution or even the cause. Whenever I leave my computer running for a few days at a time, locking whenever I'm away, some of my taskbar icons end up gettting blurry, and it worsens over time. Probably hard to tell, but that is the Corsair iCUE icon to the left of the Razer one. It isn't limited to third party either, because Windows Defender do it too, but not OneDrive, for example. Does anyone have any insight on this?

Hey there peeps, Can't help but notice that in account settings, the Microsoft icon is set to the Windows logo and Discord icon is set to a padlock instead of the actual Discord logo. Just thought I'd point that out, have a nice day everyone. Thanks, Pointy
