Hello , As the title says the scaling option in NVCP is stuck on the display option and i cant switch it to GPU , here are the things that i've tried: Fresh windows install DDU Fresh GPU driver install Different monitors DP and HDMI cables Turning on/off NIS (nvidia image scaling) GPU bios update overclocks on/off i've tried on 144 and 165 monitors , here are my other specs: i9 9900k rtx 3070 32gb 3200 plus im having troubles with massive jitteriness above refresh rate on every game , i cannot play without nvcp vsync enabled on any game but thats not my focus right now , i have been trying to fix that issue for years now to no avail. i've attached a picture of how the tab looks in my NVCP , its not grayed out or anything , just everytime i try to swith it to GPU scaling the screen flashes black and goes back to display scaling , i have tried every scaling option (aspect , no scaling , full screen) thanks

Hi, my first post here, i was wondering if my CPU cooler, a Scythe Ninja 5 (I changed the x2 800 RPM stock fans with x2 2400 RPM Fans) was able to cool my i9 9900k if i tried to OC at 5.0 GHz. Thanks for your time people!

Hi all, I am gamera and a cad designer, i play games such as Warzone, Valorant, Fortnite, Black Desert Online, Rocket league. and Fusion 360 and Blender are my other software for work. my current system is i5 8600k oc @5 GHz, Asus ROG Strix Z390F, Asus Dual GTX 1060 3gb oc @1995 MHz, 16 GB 3000 MHz Ram, 650W Gold Powersuply. I use two monitors their resolution are 1440p and 1080p both are 165Hz I was planniing to upgrade to i9 9900k and RTX 3060ti, but after the launch of intel 12th gen I am confused should I go for i9 9900k or i5 12600k and I would also like to know is i9 9900k a good pair with RTX 3060 ti or should i wait for the time and upgrade next year.

Hello! I recently acquired an RTX 3070 Ti Gaming OC to pair with my Aorus Z390 Pro Wifi Motherboard, and I wanted to try to take advantage of Resizable Bar support, so I flashed the Bios to the latest one, and restarted. After everything was all set up and working (hadn't booted to Windows 10 yet), I turned on 4G, turned on Resizable Bar, restarted the PC, and now my BIOS VGA Light is on, and it won't boot, although everything else is all lit up, spinning, and working properly (except my GPU, which spins up for a second as the BIOS lights flash CPU, DRAM, then VGA and stops before the GPU fans stop spinning entirely) I removed my GPU entirely, plugged the HDMI cable into the Motherboard HDMI slot, rebooted, and everything is working perfectly, even booted to Windows 10, but whenever I return my GPU to the PCIE Slot and turn the PC back on, the fans start for a moment, then stop again and the system reverts to not booting with the VGA light on, what gives? I plugged the HDMI back into the Motherboard HDMI port, turned off Resizable Bar, plugged my GPU back in and restarted and voila, the system boots back up as normal. What can I do to get it to post with the GPU in with Resizable Bar enabled? What gives? I updated using QFlash to version F12K from BIOS version F11.

CPU i9 9900k Motherboard Asus ROG Strix z390-h gaming RAM Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 32GB (4x8GB) DDR4 3200MHz C16 LED Desktop Memory, Black GPU GTX 2080 ti MSI Trio Case Cooler Master Masterbox 5 Mid-Tower Case Storage 500gb 960 evo, 2 tb Black SSD PSU EVGA 750W GOLD edition Cooler h100i 240mm rgb pro I was under the impression that its supposed to stay turbo'd at 4.7mhz all times when gaming. I was previously power limit throttling but not power limit throttling anymore after increased pl1 limit but i am edp limit throttling because I have pl2 set to 193A. Others tell me this is normal behaviour. Average idle temps are 35c average gaming temps are 65-75 spikes in mid 80s are rare. I literally wasnt able to catch it with my eyes watching the msi afterburner cpu clock speeds reported the while time i was gaming

So I've spent the entire night trying to troubleshoot this and I need your help lads. I copy pasted this as I'm too lazy to write right now and just want to sleep, anyway; Just bought a new i9 9900k and a new case, had completed the build and went to plug it in... no display.... basically spent 3 hours stripping it down building it up until I realized the EZ Dram led thingy was on, which means that the ram isn't detected or failed. Spent another hour just trying each of my 4 sticks in each possible position and still no detected ram, switched cpu (switched between my old I5 8400 and the I9 9900k) and combinations of ram. I'm going fucking insane, no bent pins in the socket, no visible damage to the dimms nor ram slots, what is wrong. Please help me before I explode. It's now 02:30 where I live and I'm just exhausted I beg please help, I ain't got money to fix a broken mobo, give me some hope. Parts in the rig I'm trying to build: Intel core I9 9900k (replacing my I5 8400) 32gb ddr4 3200mhz corsair Vengeance pro rgb Msi z370 sli plus Asus rog strix gtx 1080 Coolermaster v650 80+ gold (I know it's low but it doesn't matter for the post) 500gb Samsung 970evo m.2 ssd 2tb WD Ultrastar 1tb some random Seagate sshd.

Hi guys, Lately i have started to annoy myself over the high noise from my PC. I have a 240mm AIO, topmounted in a bitfenix prodigy m case. The case is inverted so the graphics card is just below the radiator as well. How can i make the i9 9900k more silent? I have a lot of suggestions for myself here. - I could buy new silent PWM fans. I was thinking about noctua nfa12 x 25, or arctic p12 (i have a white build so white stuff are appreciated.) - I could buy a bigger radiator, and install silent fans on that. (that means i would need to buy a new case as well since my prodigy m is smol.) - i could buy a new cpu, but that is on the expensive side, and i bought my i9 in 2019 so its not that long ago... - reapply thermal paste maybe? I have not applied it myself, its preapplied from corsair. Any thoughts? Specs: cooler: corsair platinum SE 240mm AIO with two ll120 pwm fans. in silent mode it is at 1500 rpm, idle is fine... it makes a lot of noise while ingame or at load. Then it reaches 2500rpm. CPU: Intel core i9 9900k aorus z390l pro wifi (mitx) 32gb corsair vengeance 3200mhz ram GTX 1070 Gigabyte Gaming (gonna upgrade this when the world has a supply of new graphics cards ) 750w Corsair rm750x white PSU 230mm bitfenix fan bottom white (intake) 140mm corsair ql140 white (intake) <--- (i understand if u are hating that i have intake from the rear mount... BUT! This is an inverted case so the rear mount is near the bottom of the case. All my intakes are filtered, so no dust is coming in. Also i am a bit of a sucker for positive airflow. My thought is that by having this as an exhaust it might just let out the cold air from the 230mm fan which is counterproductive... the hottest parts are in the top of the case anyway.) It is not a fun case to build in so i might upgrade to the be quiet silent base 802 that is coming soon. Any thoughts and ideas would be highly appreciated. Be gentle of me as this is a difficult case to build in (no sidepanels to hide the cables in and the reverse mounting of the motherboard.)

Hello, I recently upgraded my gpu to a rtx3080 and my i9 9900k is the bottleneck on cod mw... So i've been trying to overclock it but it doesn't want to go above 4,8Ghz all cores... After many changes on the oc settings I managed to have 4,9Ghz at the exchange of getting the Short/long term power at max and the iccMax on 256A aswell. What I changed on the bios: CPU ratio [4,9] Ring ratio [4,6] CPU Ratio Mode [Fixed] (had it on dynamic before) 1,32V (I think I can get it to 1,30V) CPU Core voltage mode [Override mode] Intel C-state disabled Short/Long term power to the max Processor Core IccMax [256A] (maximum aswell) IccMax was the issue at 4,9Ghz since I was getting Current Limit Throttling Questions: Are those settings safe? (I think sometimes it still downclocks a bit) Is there anything else I should change like AVX? Why does it still downclock sometimes? VRM are also ok I cannot stress test because the VRMs on my mobo get too hot and it downclocks (100c+) My mobo is a MEG Z390 Tomahawk Temps are also okay in gaming, with the new IccMax i get around 65-70c gaming

I have been debating whether or not I should upgrade my CPU, I have just barley upgraded to 32GB of DDR4, my Core i5-9400F can only run the memory at 2400Mhz, but that's not really the issue. There was a great deal on the same RAM I got so I decided to upgrade it. But my issue is I think my Core i5-9400F is bottlenecking my GPU which is a EVGA nVidia GeForce GTX 1660Ti 6GB, which I do not understand because the Core i5-9400F is a 6-core 6-threaded CPU. I could just be losing my mind, I want something that's at a reasonable price, and I have been finding the Core i9-9900K for around $300 USD on eBay and other websites. I would go 10th, or 11th generation. But I have an NZXT 240mm AIO, and I bought it second hand. So, I do not have anymore mounting brackets and what-not for the AIO, and it wouldn't matter anyway because it was never shipped with the newer socket type brackets. I was thinking about the Core i9-9900K, but I want some other people's opinions on the matter. Mainly because I don't want to waste my money, and I do plan on upgrading my GPU at some point. And I want to make sure the Core i9-9900K won't bottleneck any GPU I might decide to upgrade to ( I would imagine it won't), but I also want to know if it's just something going on with my system. The MAIN game I play is FiveM which is run on GTA V, and the server I mainly play on does have a lot of add-ons and whatnot which I am sure is part of the issues, and I do have a 4K monitor, and I know the GPU doesn't start getting used until you start getting in the 1440P range, I had a 1080P monitor and I was having the same issue to, where my CPU and RAM would max out (RAM would only max out when I had the 16GB, not it's around 50% with the 32GB DDR4), I could just be wrong, but I KNOW for a fact that a 6-core CPU shouldn't do that. Makes me wonder if the bottleneck is the CPU, that is why I was thinking the 9900K because it's affordable, and I already have a 1151 motherboard (all specs and details I will put below), I am just concerned if I get the Core i9-9900K that I will get the same issue. But I have tried a lot of things in term of troubleshooting to see if I could fix the issue, ALL of my graphics except POSTFX and Shader Quality are at normal. Those two are up because of the radiance mod (to make the lights on a police vehicle and whatnot brighter), those are higher because of the mod. The graphics are low, even with a 4K monitor I run in 1080P, and even before I got the 4K monitor my CPU and RAM would still max out. When I had the 1080P monitor it was barley touching my GPU and now it's actually using about 40% in 1080P, around 1440P it gets almost maxed out, EVERYTHING, except for the RAM because I don't think FiveM could even use 32GB of memory but I could be wrong. But as I was saying, I think my CPU is the bottleneck, due to me trying EVERYTHING to solve it. I never really had the issue before either, and I have been playing on that server for quite sometime now. There just might be a lot of mods, and add-ons and that is what is killing my bandwidth. I just want some opinions, I play some other games here and there, and some of those games run fine, but a lot of other games will max out the CPU as well. So I am at a loss here, I have updated the BIOS to see if there was a stability issue but I am not sure what else to do. Please if anyone has ideas, let me know! I am also a content creator, so I do use Sony Vegas Pro to edit my videos, and super long videos 1-2 hours long can take almost 3 hours. That is probably just the CPU though, I also record using OBS Studio, and stream to Twitch using StreamLabs OBS, and most of the time I don't have an issue, FiveM was recordable at one point, and streamable, until everything started to max out. And I have done ALL the troubleshooting with FiveM, could just be FIveM not sure. But I am just saying so, don't send me articles with how to clear FiveM cache, done that multiple times. And I have re-installed both FiveM and GTA V, so I do not know. I work in IT, this shouldn't be that hard. XD I also have the .dxdiag file below if you want more detailed information. Specs: Intel Core i5-9400F (2.9GHz) 32GB of OLOy DDR4 RAM (3000MHz, running at 2400MHz due to CPU limitations) Western Digital 500GB WD Blue SN550 NVMe Internal SSD EVGA nVidia GeForce GTX 1660Ti 6GB NZXT Kraken X53 240mm AIO GIGABYTE B365M DS3H LGA1151 All in a ThermalTake Core V2 (so plenty of airflow) DxDiag.txt

i had a little aged, but perfectly capable desktop pc: 1080ti, i9 9900k, 32 gigs of ram - it was ok for 2K monitor, even for modern titles (mostly). life got in the way, and long story short - i don't have it with me anymore. so now i need to buy a new one, but this time - a laptop (i need to stay mobile). i'd like to have something comparable in terms of performance, but have no idea, what would it be in modern hardware. ofc, just work my butt off to buy something latest and greatest could be an option, but i'd rather have something cheaper, relatively on the level of my old pc. so the question is, what modern laptop hardware will perform similarly to 1080ti and i9 9900k? thx.

Good evening everyone, it’s my first post here :). I need help. I’m a streamer on twitch, I upgraded my pc throughout a year and a half to now that I have an i9 9900k 24GB of RAM Seasonic focus 750 80+ platinum PSU and an RTX 2070 gaming x twin frozr 8gb. I recently purchased Watch Dogs Legion. I was noticing my cpu usage was low but gpu would spike to 100 on any setting. I monitor it with HWMonitor and supposedly I have high gpu usage. But my temps are fine. No problem there. But I started doing research and they say it’s an option that I’m bottlenecking. Idk how to find out or what to do. I invested a lot of money in this rig cause I’m working to do twitch long term. sorry for the long message. any help will be appreciated and helpful:)

Hi, i have noticed that my i9 9900k has gotten high to extreme temps in my small case (bitfenix prodigy m.) I have an NZXT m22 120mm AIO mounted in the rear of the case as exhaust. I have two 120mm exhaustfans in the top, right above my graphics card. (in the prodigy the motherboard is mounted upside down, so the graphics card is above my cpu. ) I would really like to keep the 120mm AIO form factor, because i am thinking of getting the In Win A1 in a couple months, and that one does not support 240mm AIOs. Any opinions and tips are appreciated. Temps: Idle: 41 degrees celsius Mediocre games (LoL, Overwatch): 60-68 Degrees Demanding games (BF5, M&B2 Bannerlord) : 70-85 degrees (sometimes it rises to 95 when under 100% load.) If i take any stresstests the temperature keeps rising and the cooler cant keep up. I have a question here that I've kinda been pulling my hair out for, so first of all to understand my predicament, let me just tell you that Ebay and Amazon don't deliver in my country but I can get Aliexpress products delivered just fine. I'm building an i9 9900k PC with a 2080 Ti that I won't be overclocking (CPU or GPU) I want to go the air-cooling route but the problem is that Dark Pro or Be quiet or Noctua or any other mainstream air-cooling fan brands aren't available in my country, only Cooler Master is available. The most expensive Air Cooler that's available is the Cooler Master MasterAIR 620P. I was thinking of doing a couple of modifications to it to get good temps that you'd generally get with on an i9 9900k with a Noctua NH D-15. For starters, I was thinking that I'd replace the stock fans that the Master Air 620P comes with and put on some High RPM DC 12v Computer Server Fans or Corsair SP120/ML120 fans which are static pressure fans (I'll be testing both of them on the cooler to see which ones produce better temps and I'll be putting on 3 of them, the cooler only comes with 2 fans, so I'm betting that putting on 3 fans as opposed to 2 which are better than the stock fans will produce better temperature results.) In all the benchmarks that I've seen online, the NH-D15 has performed better than the Cooler Master MasterAIR 620p and managed to provide an extra 7c - 10c of cooling. I've provided ALL the benchmarks that I saw at the end of the post: (You don't need to read them, the only difference between cooling provided by MA620P and Noctua NH D-15 is a difference of 10c ONLY.) Now physically comparing the coolers: All three coolers come with 6 heatpipes. MasterAIR 620P's Heatsink weight without fan = 850g Noctua NH D-15's Heatsink weight without fan = 980g Noctua's D14 Heatsink weight without fan = 900g So Noctua's NH D-15 Heatsink is only 130g heavier than MasterAIR 620P. And Noctua's D14 Heatsink is only 50g heavier than MasterAIR 620P. I also watched a video by a youtuber where he used an i9 7900X paired with Coolermaster 212X and got 79c temps at 4ghz under an Aida64 Stress Test for 40 minutes. And Coolermaster 212X cooler weighs a mere 492g, which is less than all the coolers mentioned here. Now the i9 7900x is a 10 core 20 threads processor as opposed to the i9 9900k which is an 8 core 16 threads processor. Now looking at the CFM numbers listed on the cooler's pages: (The numbers listed on Noctua's website were cubic meter per hour so I converted them to cubic feet per minute using google.) MasterAIR 620P CFM = 53.4 Noctua NH D-15 CFM = 67.6864 Noctua D14 CFM = 64.920129 Statistically speaking I think I'll be able to achieve the 65-67 CFM number by putting on any of the fans I mentioned above on the MasterAIR 620P cooler. So do you guys think that the MasterAIR 620p cooler after these fan modifications will get some results very close to Noctua's NH D-15 and be able to support the CPU under 4k gaming load? and 1080p video editing/rendering? P.S, Now I know that some of you are gonna suggest going with an AIO, I hate AIOs, I prefer air-cooling over liquid, I HAVE to go with air-cooling, AIOs are not an option. Also, some of you might also suggest just buying a Noctua NH D15 Cooler from Aliexpress but the problem is that it being sold by 2 or 3 suppliers and neither listed product has a single review, so it might just be a cheap knockoff that doesn't produce any good results, so I'm going for a locally bought OEM product and doing fan mods on it instead. P.S, I've attached all the Benchmarks that I saw.

Cooling the i9 9900k with x62 or ek a240
Darwin16.j posted a topic in Custom Loop and Exotic Cooling
Hello I don’t know what to go with the kraken x62 or the water cooling kit from ek the a 240 And I looked into custom cooling but it cost extra $700 for the custom loop and I also looked at the p240 and it’s $500 and my case is small and can only fit in a 280mm rad I am really stuck and would like some help thanks -
Hi, I need help finding a fix for what might possibly be a bottleneck. I recently built a pc that worked wonders during the first few days. I left due to vacation for about a month and after coming back, my fps dropped drastically. after running a few tests, I noticed that my CPU usage was spiking up and down, and while playing games, it goes up to 100% while my GPU usage was less than 40% on max video settings. How do I fix this? Warframe fps before: 300+ max settings now: 70-130 max settings

Hi Guys, I recently bought an editing Rig for Premiere Pro and after effects workflow in Windows 10. Below follows my configuration: Processor Intel Core i9-9900K 3.60 GHz Processor Motherboard MSI Z390 MPG Pro Carbon AC Graphic Card MSI GeForce RTX 2060 GamingZ 6GB Memory G.Skill TridentZ RGB 32GB (16x2) 3000MHz OC Storage Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500GB Samsung 860 QVO 1TB Seagate Firecuda 2TB HDD 7200RPM CABIN CoolerMaster MB530P ARGB PSU CoolerMaster MasterWatt 750 80+ Bronze Certified CPU cooler CoolerMaster MasterLiquid ML240R RGB The playback and import and dynamic linking is working perfectly on my system and Mercury hardware acceleration (CUDA) is working fine. It came to my notice that, while exporting the footage it is rendering only in "Software Encoding" and "Hardware Encoding" is greyed out. I read few forums and threads and people were saying its because the integrated graphics which is "Intel UHD graphics 630" is switched off. I checked that in BIOS and turned it on. Booted up my system and installed the drivers for Intel UHD 630 and it was showing in my display drivers in Device manager. Now started Premiere pro and checked the export settings and "Hardware Encoding" was not anymore grey. I selected "Hardware encoding" and started to render my project. Now here comes weirdest behaviour of my system which I was mentioning in the title, "Hardware Encoding" is taking much more time than "Software encoding". I tried all I could, if any of you can help me with this, it would be of great help. Thanks in advance.

So i just upgraded a lot of my peripherals to: Asus rog strix z390-f gaming I9 9900k NZXT Kraken X62 v2 (which i have already updated) G.Skill Trident Z RGB 2x8 3200 My case is "old" but it's Phanteks P400s From the beginning i wanted to use my be quiet silent wings 3 fans to just do a push setup but the y splitter you connect all the fans onto (which comes from the kraken x62) didn't work properly so i thought it might've been a better idea to just do push and pull cause i've heard the stock NZXT kraken fans were good but, no. They're the loudest fans i've owned and keeps going up to 100% suddenly but might be because the thermals are so unstable and unpredictable. recently i just updated windows and while it was downloading the update while i restarted it the fans went crazy and were at 100% until the update was done. But maybe its because i perhaps mounted the cooler wrongly, the problem is i don't know. This is what i have tried to fix the cooling: Try to tighten the screws more on the pump, but it sits tight enough for sure. Trying to fiddle with rpm in bios, but not so much and even if i would fix my temps the fans would be extremely loud with the high rpm's. First time i mounted the push and pull i had two of the fans in the wrong way so i switched sides but the temps didn't drop by that much, surprisingly only the gpu went down but i didn't play have my pc on for so long and now it's back anyway. What i think it could be is when i mounted the pump i tightened one of the screws to much so the cooling paste might not sit so good on the cpu but i tried to fix it by screwing it up a little again to make the paste go even on my cpu but now when i think about it, i might've just done things worse but i'm no expert and don't know if i did it wrong and how badly. I should add that my gpu goes up to 80 degrees easily (overclocked with 109% power limit, 115 on core and 650 on memory) and now i'm too scared to play games because i feel it will damage my hardware. When i first started the pc there were a lot of problems like windows didn't want to boot and at the same time it told me "cpu fan error" but those things are fixed but still odd to me. Seems the cpu fan error was because the fans weren't connected directly to the motherboard but that's a wild guess. I've been thinking about uninstalling everything and start from scratch and have been contemplating about it for a long time if that might be a problem with thermals. Something weird to add about the 2 silent wings 3 fans and the NZXT ones were that when i connected the NZXT fans into the y splitter WITH the Silent wings 3 fans connected one of the fans started to spin normally but the other one was barely spinning, only twitching. I see there's a lot to answer but i'm mostly focused on why my temps are so bad.

So I saw on the intel website that the i9 9900k only supports up to ddr4 2666 ram in dual channel. I want to use 4x 8 GB DDR4 3200 sticks of memory using the ASUS Rog Strix Z390 E Gaming motherboard, will this work? I read somewhere that I can change it in bios, but idk if I can use 4 sticks. Please don’t reply saying that the i9 9900k is a rip-off.

Hi all, wanting to know why when im idle my Vcore is showing 1.296 … but when im gaming it about 1.2 - 1.23 and even when I use Aida 64 to bench mark it. its dropped to the same voltage. my voltage is set to 1.315V on the Vcore at 5 ghz this normal ?? or I done something wrong ? … im not getting crashes or anything and my second question is if any 1 knows … what would u say a safe voltage for every day gaming would be on this ? I can get 5.2 ghz at like 1.410 volts … but feel this might be to high... cooling isn't a issue... I have 2 140 rads and 2 240 rads * I haven't kept it at this .. its back at 5 ghz… just wanted to know what it would take … and to add … when I was bench marking at 5.2 ghz … it was showing about 1.209 volts … on hwmonitor Thanks

I'm running a i9 9900k on a gigabyte aorus z390 elite and cooling it with Noctua DH-15. While running AIDA stress test on core, cache, FPU and system memory I get 9% throttling, and temps around 90-100 celsius. While playing battlefield 5 i get to 80 celsius and core voltage is at 1.45 witch I think is too high and the processor runs at 4,8GHz. Can I decrese voltage? Edit: also the processor wont go above 4.8GHz even if at 60 celsius.

Can't keep this i9 at bay when under load. Originally was using cooler master hyper 212 but cpu would hit 100c instantly when I ran Cinebench. I thought upgrading to Noctuas monster NH-D15 cooler would solve the problem but it still instantly reaches 100c when I run Cinebench. I reapplied thermal paste 4 times, trying both of the "methods" (aka. 1 drop in middle & manual spread) Saw no difference between the different thermal paste applications. The second I start cinebench temps sky rocket to 100c in under 2 seconds. This isn't even with any overclocking. It turbo boost to around 4.7-4.9ghz when performing light task. When running cinebench it drops down to about 4.35ghz. So at least it still turbos above base clock but its still instantly hitting 100c when hitting it hard which doesn't seem right. Specs: CPU: i9 9900k (Stock clock speeds) Motherboard: Gigabyte Z370 Aorus Ultra Gaming Wifi Ram: 16gb DDR4 Corsair 3000mhz ram GPU: RTX 2080 Dose anyone have any suggestions as to whats going on? Is this is normal or did I just lose the silicone lottery? Attached HWMonitor screenshot of Min and Max after running Cinebench. Cinebench score is: 4529
