For past 5 -6 months i have not been able to do much on my system at most i can play low spec games like league of legends, halo reach, overwatch etc. I am not able to play newer games higher spec games i get too frame skipping/stuttering in games and is unplayable in between the frame skipping/stuttering the is mostly smooth and this will happen about 70 - 80% of gameplay. my system is almost 2 years old was sent to get fixed from a blue screen 3 months ago and was returned to me in the current state, i have been slow with getting it looked at and with current covid 19 issues i am current unable to do so. My AIO pump revs up loudly whenever running games. here is a list of fixes i have already tried/looked into. Updating any all drivers, windows. Resetting windows Enabled/Disabled xmp (dont think its ram anyway) , changed ram slots added extra case positioned near cpu, all parts cleaned of dust enough space on both ssd and hdd virus scan/removed suspicious programs lowered all graphic settings in games, changed nvidia control panel settings for performance. My build . CPU: Intel i-7 8700 3.20GHz . Motherboard: ASUS PRIME Z370-A . RAM: Corsair Vengeance 32gb ddr4 . GPU: Inno 3D Geforce GTX 1080Ti 11gb . PSU: Thermaltake 850w . AIO: Cooler Master MASTERLIQUID 240

So i have a small local bussines of film making. For that i build 2 similar PC's. One has a 8700(non k), 1070 ,64gb ram 2666, on a asus prime 370+. The other one is a 7700(non k) also 64gb ram all paired with a 1060 on a strix B250f. I have a nas on which i store my files , so both pc can edit from one place. My problem is , that once i start the pc, the 7700 machine strarts connected to the nas,(the "network storage device" looks normal , no x in the corner) it works just as you'd expected. The 8700, shows the drive but it has an x on the bottom corner . The drive still works, i can connect to it , as soon as i open any of the drives they refresh and the x dissapears. My problem is , that the software i use to edit videos won't use the drives while they have the x. Aslo while i power on the pc, an windows critical error "GONG" can be heared while booting up. I also found that if i disable windows spotlight, it doesn't do the critical error gong, and it doesn't show the drives as offline. The 7700 one has windows spotlight on and it never had such a problem. I also have a laptop(pentium silver) that i use for remote access other servers. It has the same problem. Anyone has any clue why this is happening on my 8700 and pentium, and the 7700 doesn't do it? I have a suspicion that it doesn't do it because it has a gaming motherboard?

Hi, do you recommend upgrading from i5 8500 to i7 8700? pairing it Strix Vega 64 on 2560x1080 144hz monitor? im having issues maintaining high frames (70+) on most games like BF V, Anno 1800, TW: Three kingdoms, AC Odyssey, and some frame dips with BO4, The division 2. Will upgrading CPU increase FPS? or shall i upgrade my GPU to 5700xt?

I know it's a stupid question but is the CoolerMaster Masterwatt 550 good enough for an Aorus GTX 1080Ti Waterforce Xtreme and an i7 8700 (non K)?

Hi So I've been needing a new CPU for a while so now it's time to do so. I've been going between the i5 9600k, Ryzen 2700x, 2700 (Non-X) and the i7 8700, but I seriously cannot decide. My current pc specs are: i5 6400 2.7GHz Asus b150m-a GTX 1060 6gb 16gb ddr4 2133MHz 500w power supply And since my power button on my case broke a little while ago, I need a new case. I mostly play PUBG, BF5 and a little CS:GO here and there. So a total budget of around 800 dollars for a new CPU, motherboard, case and if needed CPU cooler, nothing has been decided so please help a brother out :D Great day!

I’m not expert by any means and have only had a pc since April 2019. I recently had a full system crash so I download afterburner for the OSD to monitor things to get a feel for how my pc normally runs under load. I have an I7 8700 on an asus B360M-A And a RTX 2060. While playing GTAV I’ve been hovering at 90c and getting as high as 96c. It makes me nervous cause my gpu gets nowhere near that hot. So is that normal? or is it way to hot and I should get a cpu cooler yesterday? I just got the 2060 and just started monitoring temps so I’m clueless.

So I just installed my new cpu cooler everything was straight forward and I read directions. Finished and booted it for the first time and it turned off then on a few time so I turned it off. I wiggled the cooler a bit and tried again. Now it boots but isn’t sending anything to the display. If you could give me some advice I would really appreciate it. Thx

this is the new build by yours truly, im sticking with the evo 970 m.2, as im merely indecisive. if you all have any ideas, cheap or just the tiniest bit more expensive (as this is meant to be budget for its power). see the clickable text below below for the build. //PCPARTPICKER BUILD//

I'm planning on upgrading my RTX 2070 super and getting the RTX 3080 this week and I was wondering if my 8th gen intel i7 8700 (non k) will be a bottleneck @ 4k60? CPU is running at 4.6 Ghz with a BCLK overclock. Not planning a CPU/Mobo upgrade anytime soon. RAM: 16GB (2x8GB) 3Ghz DDR4 XMP On Your opinions?

Hey, I'm currently running an i7 8700(non k), all other specs will be sufficient, I am considering a 3070 from a 2060, I am looking for an answer, not suggestions for lower gpus, will the 3070 bottleneck the 8700?

This gonna be a long post because I want to give you guys as many details as possible so bear with me !!! My Specs Z370 Prime 600w Power Supply 16gb Ram i7-8700 (not k ) 1080ti MSI SEAHAWK Hybrid While I'm playing PUBG or R6S, both work fine around 90 to 100% gpu usage. But while streaming , PUBG gpu usage drop heavily to 60% , cpu usage remain high at 40%, causing the game stutter and lag, fps drop down to average 70fps and sometimes in fight, the gpu usage drop even more to 40%, the game only down to 50fps. Thats very annoying and I know with the specs that I have, the game should archive more that 100fps while streaming. My friend has a lower end pc but still he can stream at 1080p at 130fps average with PUBG. OBS could be a problem when i'm trying to stream at 1920x1080 to get the best picture quality, but I use NVENC as my encoder, i thought it should push my 1080ti to max performance as it can to create best picture as well as best framerate I can get from the game but the gpu usage in total inly around 70% , sometimes drop to 55%. I'll notice that my cpu usage alway high, around 100%. OBS takes alot of cpu usage too , even tho I use GPU as my encoder but obs still take around 35 to 40% , other app cause the game cant run with a cpu being use too much !! I also try to monitor the temp while gaming and streaming too. Temp all fine , cpu around 63°C and GPU around 60°C. Things I have Try to improve : Update bios, Update drivers, Prefer Maximum Performance, Set affinity,... I have tried a lot but still , I still need your help on this one. Much Thanks !! UPDATE : http://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/10761329 That's my userbenchmark test but I still stuck with the situation that I explain, please help

I was planning for getting a new build and was wondering what CPU to pick. I'll mainly use it for gaming but I'll need it for editing and rendering sometimes. The Ryzen will save me enough to buy an SSD with it plus it has the ability to overclock (even though I don't plan on overclocking for the foreseeable future unless I need to). The i7 seems better for when I need it for rendering. I checked some benchmarks online and the difference in performance doesn't seem too large but I was wondering if that really is the case. I'm also planning on getting a GTX 1060 6GB so I was wondering which one would be more suitable for it if it'll even make a difference. I checked the Ryzen 7 1700 too but it seems weaker for gaming so I'm not thinking of getting it.

Howdy people, I'm thinking about getting an i7-8700 (non k) for my future build but I'm stuck on deciding on what cooler to get. The amount I will be willing to spend is around £50-60 or higher if justified. I'll be grateful for any suggestions!

Hello. I am about to buy intel i7 8700 (non K) paired with B360-F Strix motherboard and i am just wondering if all cores will actually boost to 4.3ghz as it supposed to be according to cpu's specifications. I will surely add good aftermarket cooler (noctua) and not the stock cooler off course. If somebody has this specific cpu+mobo combo please could write me and ensure me about boost on all cores to 4.3 without problems. Thanks in advance.

Hello guys I'm planing in building new pc for working and gaming ( I play strategy games -total war series- planing on playing warhammer 2 on it) for work it's almost computing nothing i can't do on my labtop but still speed is good, my CPU budget is around 240 usd I was thinking on ryzen 7 1700, ryzen 5 2600x or i5-8600k, i can squeeze myself a little and get ryzen 7 1800x with 239 usd and a 20$ fan, Other option is to buy the i7-8700 but then i will ruin my budget. So my question is what do u think its better for me i will pair it with gtx 1080 Also is it better to buy ryzen 1800x and a cooler master water cooling ML240L rgp or a i7-8700 with normal fan ?
