I am experiencing reboots when the PC case is shaken slightly or even when the table is shaken slightly. Removed my GPU and the PC works fine without it, no issue of RAM, not yet tested the Power supply. So my first guess is that the issue lies somewhere between the GPU and the motherboard. When I insert the GPU without screwing into the bracket , the system beeps (not normal boot beep, the best I could describe it as 2-3 beeps on top of each other) with no display, but when I screw in the GPU so that there is no sagging and slightly vertically inclined, it boots up and I get a display. Due to this i think that it's either that the PCIE x16 slot has became loose and cannot make full contact at all times or the GPU contact pins have worn off. I do not have an extra PCIE x16 slot to test my GPU unfortunately. U can see in the pics attached that the PCIE x16 slot has more gap between the upper and lower pins. While the PCI slot which I had never used has a tighter gap. While browsing some forums, I heard from someone that the GPU contacts should still be functional as the layer beneath the gold plating is also conductive. Any suggestions are welcomed. is the new RX 560 (equal to the old and cool HD 7850) out already ?

I have a Radeon HD 7850, which does indeed support VSR, and have been using it for a while now, however the specs of the card say it can get much higher resolutions, and I am able to get 2560x1440 on my second monitor (regardless if I put it in the HDMI or DVI port), but I can't seem to find any 2560x1600 settings for my main one, and the AMD site does state that on a 16:10 ratio it does support 1920x1200 and 2560x1600, the question is why can't I find it there? Is it a monitor limitation? Yes, I could easily switch monitors but I choose the 16:10 one because it's a much higher quality panel and the colours are way more accurate and look better on it compared to the cheaper TN panel the 16:9 monitor has. Edit: the highest resolution windows sees for the 16:10 monitor is 2048x1536 My monitors are as follows: Samsung SyncMaster 2243NW for my main one (the one on which 2560x1600 doesn't work) Asus VH228 for my secondary display (the one on which 2560x1440 DOES work)

I finally got a "new" video card, a 2GB HD 7850, but I see in Afterburner it keeps it at 900mV idle but it shoots up to 1138 under load, these are the default settings afterburner opened with, I was wondering if it's safe to run it at this voltage. Edit: forgot pic

Can a badly flashed bios affect the performance and/or thermals of a card? Here's some back story About a month ago I bought a Sapphire HD 7850 second hand, and it had great performance, but lacking in other games (such as SS3 Fusion or Borderlands 2) I didn't think much of it, I thought it was a CPU bottleneck doing that, but recently it got some power delivery issues, and the guy was kind enough to give me an MSI as replacement (same model), only 1GB in memory though, but it runs much cooler, by about 10-15 degrees, and it performs much better to my surprise: where I couldn't really play SS3 or Borderlands in 1080p above 45FPS average, now I can play both of those in 1440p60+ (same exact settings) no problem. The day I took the card back is when I found out the Sapphire had been flashed poorly by somebody else.

Make sure to read everything, there's some questions at the end About a month ago I went ahead and got a HD 7850 2GB from Sapphire, second hand, I was looking to upgrade my R7 250. All was well and good, it was running a bit hot, but I didn't pay much attention to it (wouldn't exceed 76-77 degrees, but I had to undervolt to keep it from becoming a jet engine), performance was good too, superior to the 250's, but I thought it had had its bios re-flashed, because the picture on the bios database had a different cooler than mine, while I did later learn pictures there aren't 100% representative of what the card actually looks like, it did have its bios re-flashed, but I'm getting ahead of myself. And so, performance in some games was kinda poor, games like Borderlands 2, still playable, but absolutely abysmal frame times and wouldn't get past 45-50fps max, same story with Serious Sam 3: Fusion, while others did run well, I didn't know how poor they ran until I got a replacement, but I'm getting ahead of myself again. Fast forward to 3 days ago, when I was getting seemingly power delivery issues. The card looked good both idle and in-game, no artifacts, however under stress the driver would crash leaving behind lines of the same looking gradient repeated, something I know is caused by not enough voltage, because I had an unstable undervolt that behaved just like that. Anyway, yesterday I took the card back to the guy I got it from, and he was friendly enough to help me figure out the issue. I was hoping it was my power supply that had the problem, because it's still in warranty, but it did the same "unstable undervolt" crash on him, too. We tried re-flashing the bios, thinking this is what may have been causing it, and THIS is where I learned the card had had its bios re-flashed by somebody else, and really badly at that too because it couldn't be re-flashed again, not even showing anything in atiflash. Meanwhile, I left that card at the guy and he was kind enough to give me another HD 7850 he had, this time from MSI, but only 1GB in size, I took it kinda reluctantly thinking it would impact my performance because it had half the buffer, but when I got home I was pleasantly surprised that not only did it run 10 degrees cooler than the Sapphire, with a slower fan profile, too, but it was also running so much better, now I'm able to get 70+fps (can't tell exactly how much above that, I've locked the framerate) in both Borderlands 2, and Serious Sam 3: Fusion. Now there are also some questions to be had after all this. 1. Are old Sapphire cards, from about that time really bad? Are they still this bad? My R7 250 is a Sapphire and I haven't had any issues with it in the past 3 years. 2. Could the poor performance in the Sapphire card have been caused by the poorly flashed bios? TL;DR: I bought a sapphire HD 7850 that went bad shortly after, got it replaced with a 1GB version from MSI which somehow performs vastly better.

I have a tough time choosing between these three cards, all of them I can only find on the second hand market, and I heard they perform pretty similarly. However, here's the pros and cons of each of them For the HD 7850, what is very enticing is the price, being the cheapest of all three of them, however it does not have a warranty, unlike the other two. For the R7 370, I can buy it from a second hand store that offers a 6 month warranty on it, but it comes in as the second most expensive card. Then there's the R7 270x, which I found to be the most expensive of the bunch (almost as much as a new RX 560), but it still is in warranty until November 2020!! Considering my choices, should I just get a new 460 / 560 since I don't risk anything? Or should I go for a second hand one from the list above? I know computer stuff is more durable than it seems, and that the risk of second hand is worth it but I'm still kinda reluctant and need further assurance second hand is ok.

Hi guys I got an old pc with and Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0GHz processor with stock cooler and 6 gigs of DDR3 ram (unknown brand) 1333MHz. And i am wondering if i can put a HD7850 graphic card in the machine without replacing the PSU. The one that sits in the machine at the moment is an old FSP350-60MDN which has an onput on 350watt. I know that the E8400 has an TDP at 65watt, so in my mind that would leave (approx) some 285 watt to the GPU but i am not sure. There will be no OC on the machine and the only purpose for it will be just an video machine, ergo youtube and movies. Should i try with the PSU or should i get another one?

Hi so my own Hd 7850 died and i want a new gpu and i see this hd 7850 3D club for 50 euro's thats about 55 dollars but isnt this a great deal? The guy has all the manuals, stickers pretty much everthing that came with it when he got it also hes got a good story why he doesnt want it anymore so i trust him for that also i can test it when i pick it up. so is this a good deal for a HD 7850 1GB 3D club graphics card

Hi, i want to crossfire my hd 7850 no problem right? well one of them is almost dead when i start up it shows artifacts and stuff but the other one works fine one is a sapphire and the other 3D club the sapphire doens't work correctly but is it still possible that my 3D club one can go and do the main stuff and the sapphire as second, so that there won't be any unstable stuff happening or would every thing crash when the other one crashes? Hey guys, I´m planning to build a new system for gaming only. No video editing, etc.at all. This PC is meant to be a low budged build, so im planning to spend a maximum of 550€ (I´m from Germany) or about 720$. The game being played is mostly Battlefield 3 (incl. Premium, i think Aftermath is a little more demanding) on a old but reliable 1280x1024 Display, so no high-end resolution. Because I don´t have an OS handy, I have to plan around 80 bucks for it as well (Win 7 or 8, no price difference at all). HDD is avaliable from old PC but when the budged allows an newer (and faster) one will be better. Here´s the component list I´ve figured out so far: CPU: AMD fx 4100 (85€) Mainboard: AsRock 970 Extreme 3 (65€) GFX: AMD Radeon HD 7850 (2GB) (155€) RAM: 4GB no special brand (25€) PSU: Corsair cx430 (43€) HDD: WD Blue 500GB (50€) Case: Anything cheap (~30€) OS: Windows 7/8 (80€) 1. I´m wondering if the fx4100 will have enough power to handle 64p MP of Battlefield 3 or if a fx6300 / i3 3220 would be the better choice? 2. The 7850 should have way enough power. Would a 7790 handle it aswell? (Nvidia cards are an option, but the price to performance is really weak in this price range) 3. Is 4gb ram enough or are 8gb a must have? I have a HIS IceQX Turbo 1gb hd 7850. If I set a custom fan curve in afterburner I can go as far down as 0% and stop the fan from spinning. The graphic card is the loudest component in my system, everything else is completly silent so this would be awesome. With my card being passiv cooled I get idle temps of 40C-42C. Do you guys think this is a temperature that is acceptable? I don't know when I'll be able to purchase a new graphic card so I would like it to last ~4 years. Will the vram or the vrm get too hot without airflow? Thanks for any replies

What would you consider a safe voltage for a hd 7850? I want this card to last for a few years. The maximum I can set is 1.225V. If you need the exact card look in my signature. Thanks :)
