Hey, I've got SHA-256/other hash digest errors on multiple platforms (league of legends, minecraft and npm/node and others) I can't download certain files even if I retry, there is something wrong with my hash decryption(?). I think the same issue is behind my graphical issues (corruption in images and green lines on certain things on browser/discord) and my distorted audio issues (videos on discord sound like someone is scratching a plate with a fork, it also does this with SOME games such as League of Legends (only on champion select though, which is odd)). What I have tried: Reinstalling windows with 2nd drive detached. booting pc with external GPU detached (using integrated graphics) reinstalling all drivers bought a new motherboard switching RAM sticks (I have 2x8gb, I tried both of them alone) Windows DISM fixing tool thingie sfc scannow virus scans booting pc in safe mode (and some other things that I can't currently remember.) BIOS Version: American Megatrends Inc. 1205 3.5.2018 PC parts: OS: Windows 10 Home 64bit (Latest updates as of 11.4.2020) CPU: i5-7600k CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO GPU: MSI Geforce GTX 1060 6GB Gaming RAM: 2x8gb 2133mhz DDR4 HyperX Fury black HDD: Seagate Barracuda (1TB) SSD: Samsung SSD 850 EVO (250GB) (OS installed) PSU: Corsair CX600 (600W) MOBO (old): ASRock Z270 PRO4 MOBO (current): ASUS PRIME H270-PRO At first I thought the issues were caused by a somehow faulty motherboard, but I ended up being wrong about that. Pictures attached below have an example of the graphical distortion (it happens on random pictures and after refreshing they randomize again), an example of the hash digest error and what it causes and an example of a graphical error on a youtube video. PS: If I have not provided enough information on something, I'll add them ASAP. This issue has been bugging me for a long time and I want to get it fixed.

Hello Guys,My Recently Acquired Acer TravelMate P643-V to replace my Lenovo ThinkPad R61.This laptop was a perfect replacemet for my aging and breaking-down ThinkPad which I have been using since the last 4-5 years now.This laptop was working perfectly fine with it's i5 3360M,4GB DDR3 and Intel HD Graphics 4000 for a month until around 1-2 weeks ago,the laptop was restarting but took forever, at the "Shutting Down" screen (It is running a factory image of Acer's Windows 7 install) I force shut it off and when i turned it on it said "Starting Windows" and immediately went to "Windows is loading files" and went to the launch startup repair and if I pressed the power button for it to turn of,it would do the the same thing until i canceled the Startup Repair and At Options,clicked "Restart" and it would boot normally later.That happened again to me on the 23rd or 24th,fixed it again,and that problem didn't occur anymore,but I had a different problem,I usually never play any other game except Minecraft,afters hours of playing,it was fine,until day before yesterday,my display driver would crash and Windows would be like "The Intel HD Graphics driver for Windows 7 has crashed and successfully recovered" (or something like that) and of course my game would crash,it would happen when my game is paused when i am doing something or while playing the game itself,and happened 3 times that day all in the same hour,so i shut it down,and next day (yesterday) I was playing,it was fine again,until my battery was at 7% and windows told me to plug it in,i plug the charger in and the driver instantly crashed and crashed my game (of course),later it did'nt happen like that again,but it crashed when i was playing,and today I am telling that,any help?

So, first of all im sorry if this is the wrong forum for the question im about to ask(probably is) but i couldnt find any other forum relevant for this so whatever, here I go! My question is, that when ever I watch a video on hashes or read about them(including the teckquicke video), it is always mentioned that hashes are NOT reversible. But then why can we decrypt a md5 hash by searching it on google or decrypt a sha1 hash using specific websites. Does decrypting not mean reversible? if no then what does 'not being reversible' mean? am i missing something? thanks in advance

what is hash verification, i have been seeing these on like downloads, like for applications and some driver updates

have a gtx 1080 duke oc to 25.998 MH/s while mining eth w/ clamore is this normal and could a 1080 get oc even higher?

Ok, let's say I'm building a dedicated mining rig for alt-coins like DaggerHashimoto, Vertcoin, etc. Stuff that's mainly ASIC-resistant so using GPUs are fine. Can I configure something like: Config: A320 board, Ryzen 3 1200, 8 GB memory, but with a couple higher end video cards, maybe even Titan V when it drops. Isolated from network, so running nothing but drivers and coin software/wallet/miner? Or should I not cheap out on the board/CPU/mem?

<?php $password ="letmein"; echo $password."<br>"; $hash = password_hash($password, PASSWORD_DEFAULT); echo $hash."<br>"; if (password_verify($password, $hash)) { echo 'Password is valid!'; } else { echo 'Invalid password.'; } ?> Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '$hash' (T_VARIABLE), expecting ',' or ')' in C:\xampp\htdocs\includes\hash.php on line 7 I don't see anything wrong with my code. EDIT: deleted the if statement and wrote it out again and it works fine

Hey everyone, I've been watching the Linus videos for a year or so now and love them, keep up the great work guys. Have also been lucking in the forums for months and have finally got around to creating an account after the Password discussion on the WAN Show. I thought I'd write a quick post as they were suggesting on the WAN that passphrases are the best thing to use as passwords. The problem I've had with passwords for a long time, no matter what format (standard passwords, strong random passwords, passphrases), is remembering what password I have used for what website/service. I am most definitely an advocate of using a completely different password for every single different website. On the low chance that one gets hacked everything else is still secure. The problem with this, even with the more secure passphrases, is remember what passphrase you used on what site. Using the same passphrase on multiple sites is just as bad as using a simple password. I have just started using a clever technique to generate unique, strong, completely random 20+ character passwords that are unique for every site but memorable. But how can WL0Y'QREj7fJzQ8AgJID be memorable? This is where hashing comes in. Hashing can take one or more bits of information and repeatedly hash it into the same string of characters. So the basis of the system I use uses the domain name of the particular website and a secret master key to hash a repeatble password. (The above is a hash of "test.com" as the domain and "test" as the master key). The hash will always be the same for the same domain and master key. This means you don't even have to use any "Remember My Password" services built into browsers these days, instead just use the same master key while the domain changes for each website you need a password. Suposedly these hashes are irreversible so even if one of the generated passwords is found by someone they won't be able to reverse engineer them to your master key. I wrote a quick hashing app that does it for me but there are lots of browser addons that can do this built into your browser, for example the Firefox Password Hasher. For me this is the most secure solution I've found. What do people think of using hashed passwords? How secure are they? Are they actually irreversible?

Hello I plan to build a gaming pc soon and I already have an XFX R9 280X DD black OC edition it looks beautiful but i can't use it yet Here is the link for the parts that I have come up with so far: Here - Budget: $600-$700 preferably closer to $600 - Zip Code or Location: Queensland, Australia, 4740 - Specific Use: Gaming mostly, Minecraft with friends (because there PC's suck) as well as COD Black Ops 2, GMod and various other steam games probably with other friends(who have decent PC's) - Any preferred components: Haswell CPU (i was thinking I5 4440) because i will upgrade later to a 4770k and I don't want to have to do Mobo and Cpu at once as it will probably be to expensive - Any spare parts you can re-use: I have a R9 280X that I'm going to use - Overclocking your processor: Probably not - Need an Operating System:No I have a $100 gift card that I can use - Need a Monitor? / Mouse? / Keyboard: No, No and no - Need a Wireless Card or Adapter: If the mobo doesn't have wireless built in - Need Another Component: I don't think so Other Useful Info - Preferred Case: Thermaltake Chaser a-21 - Number of Monitors: 1 (1080p) with an old secondary one to have Skype open as well - Other Info: I will be buying mostly from PC case gear unless there are good sales somewhere else, I plan to upgrade everything in this build so over time (thats why i need Haswell) i will have 2 computers and then I will be selling this to my Brother and/or Sister eventually so it must be able to run Sims 3(and 4 when it comes out) SMOOTHLY Goodnight everybody I will check this again in the morning. Yawn, also sorry if there is something wrong with this post I'm still kinda new at forums.

Hi guys - Awesome pool here at https://chunkypools.com give it a shot - it's worth it! What's your favourite pool for altcoins?

Post at /. Holy crap. Dats a lot of hash rate. ... Hmm. I don't see the value in paying to mine currency. I mean, why don't they just keep the coins they mine? Really? I understand it's a more constant stream of cash, having people pay you to mine for them. But still. It just doesn't seem logical. Note: If you go to slashdot and it looks weird, make sure you aren't at beta.slashdot.org. They are trying out a new format. It's terrible.

Hello all, I'm working on this program that takes a text file and reads it like a programming language. Whenever the program reads the VAR keyword, it takes the variable name and hashes it to a table. The hash function takes the ascii character values and multiplies it with an iterator starting at 1. Then new variable is added to the table after taking its molulo with the table size. The logic is mostly there but the hash function says its ambiguous. I'm not sur what the problem is. Looking around the internet first, I think the problem is with the scope in which the function is called. Any help is appreciated. Thanks! Best, Golden #include <iostream>#include <string>#include <sstream>#include <ctype.h>#include <fstream>#include <math.h>using namespace std;class node{public: node(); node* next; string getName(); int getNum(); int getScope(); void setName(string); void setNum(int); void setScope(int);private: string name; int num; int scope;};node::node(){ next = 0; name = ""; num = 0; scope = 0;}string node::getName(){ return name;}int node::getNum(){ return num;}int node::getScope(){ return scope;}void node::setName(string s){ name = s;}void node::setScope(int x){ scope = x;}void node::setNum(int x){ num = x;}int hash(string s){ int hash=0,size = s.size(); for(int i=;i<size+1;i++){ hash+= (int) s[i] * i; } return hash%7;}int main(){ int curr_scope=0,num_line=0; node table[7]; ifstream myfile ("C:\\Users\\Tony\\SkyDrive\\School\\DataStructures\\Programs\\Program4\\BORG\\borg.txt"); if (myfile.is_open()){ string s; while (getline (myfile,s)){ num_line++; stringstream line(s); line >> s; if(s == "START"){ curr_scope++; while(line >> s); } else if(s == "FINISH"){ curr_scope--; while(line >> s); } else if(s == "COM"){ while(line >> s); } else if(s == "VAR"){ node temp; line >> s; cout << s << endl; temp.setName(s); line >> s; if(s == "="){ line >> s; cout << s << endl; temp.setNum(atoi(s.c_str())); temp.setScope(curr_scope); if(table[hash(temp.getName())] != 0){ temp.next = table[hash(temp.getName())]; table[hash(temp.getName())] = temp; while(line >> s); } else if(table[hash(temp.getName())] == 0){ table[hash(temp.getName())] = temp; while(line >> s); } else{ cout << "UNABLE TO ADD " << temp.getName() << "TO THE TABLE" << endl; while(line >> s); } } } else if(s == "PRINT"){ line >> s; node temp = table[hash(s)]; if(temp.getScope == curr_scope){ if(line >> s){ if(s == "++"){ cout << temp.getName() << " IS " << temp.getNum() + 1 << endl; while(line >> s); } else if(s == "--"){ cout << temp.getName() << " IS " << temp.getNum() - 1 << endl; while(line >> s); } else if(s == "+"){ line >> s; cout << temp.getName() << " IS " << temp.getNum() + atoi(s.c_str()) << endl; while(line >> s); } else if(s == "-"){ line >> s; cout << temp.getName() << " IS " << temp.getNum() - atoi(s.c_str()) << endl; while(line >> s); } else if(s == "/"){ line >> s; cout << temp.getName() << " IS " << temp.getNum() / atoi(s.c_str()) << endl; while(line >> s); } else if(s == "*"){ line >> s; cout << temp.getName() << " IS " << temp.getNum() * atoi(s.c_str()) << endl; while(line >> s); } else if(s == "%"){ line >> s; cout << temp.getName() << " IS " << temp.getNum() % atoi(s.c_str()) << endl; while(line >> s); } else if(s == "^"){ line >> s; cout << temp.getName() << " IS " << pow(temp.getNum(),atoi(s.c_str())) << endl; while(line >> s); } } } else{ cout << s << "IS UNDEFINED" << endl; cout << "ERROR HAS OCCURED ON LINE " << num_line << endl; while(line >> s); } } else{ if(table[hash(s)].getName == s){ node temp = table[hash(s)]; line >> s; if(s == "="){ if(temp.getScope() == curr_scope){ line >> s; table[hash(temp)].setNum(atoi(s.c_str())); while(line >> s); } } else if(s == "++"){ table[hash(temp)].setNum(table[hash(temp)].getNum()+1); while(line >> s); } else if(s == "--"){ table[hash(temp)].setNum(table[hash(temp)].getNum()-1); while(line >> s); } } else cout << s << "IS UNDEFINED" << endl; } } myfile.close(); } system("PAUSE"); return 0;}
