Hey Folks, I got a 'hand me down' GTX 660 I've slapped into my media centre (Running a ye old I5-4690); however I'm having an issuing getting 4K output from the card over HDMI (to a smart TV). The Spec page for the GTX 660 footnote 3 says it will do '3840x2160 at 30Hz' over the HDMI, but I'm having no luck. Same setup works switching to the iGPU (At 4k, but struggles with some content), or by lowering the output on the GTX660 to 1920x1080. Interestingly, Nvidia control panel lists 3840x2160@60 Hz as an option (however that also doesn't work). Drivers are the latest, and I've otherwise validated the rest of the chain. I unfortunately don't have a 4k monitor to try to otherwise validate the other outputs. I'm somewhat stumped, so any advice welcomed.

So this has been happening for quite a while now, where I would go to click my power button to put my pc into sleep and the monitor would shut off, but the fans and lights would remain on and the fans would run at a reduced rate. Usually it is only the RAM LEDs that stay on during sleep. When I go to boot the system back up after it going into one of these "false" sleeps the monitor doesn't pick up the GP (GTX660) and then I have to reset the PC (have another power button for that) and it resets the PC and goes to the BIOS, fun thing though my monitor after a failed sleep doesn't detect a signal so I have to go and usually plug in an old monitor into the DVI port and get into the bios that way, my BIOS has all the UEFI settings enabled (thought that would stop it from going to defaulting to the DVI port on the GPU. I have a GTX660, R7 5800x (yes I know big bottle neck, but can't get a new GPU yet) X570-e STRIX ASUS 32gb of 3600Mhz RAM, 8tb HD 500gbssd, RM850x PSU. Please help.

So i built a preety cheap pc with a gtx 570 and now my brother wants to do the same but the gpu that he buys if its better than my gtx 570 im suposed to keep would the gtx 660 be an upgrade? (the budget for the gpu is 60€ hence why we are not looking for something any higher) i know that anything above the gtx 660 is an upgrade and worth keeping in my pc but would the gtx 660 also be an upgrade ?

Pretty self explanatory, I have a 600W PSU.

Buying a used graphics card so I can SLI, the seller says its about 4 years old, I was told the general lifespan of a GPU is about 3-5 years, is that a problem? ( I bought my current graphics card, a GTX 660 brand new 2-3 years ago.)

hello. so i was making a video on my computer(AMD FX 6300 CPU and N. GTX 660 OC GPU, 8 GB Ram, win 10,psu 500watt, asrock, no error msgs.) and when i went to render the video my computer froze. i hit the reset button on my PC and when i was trying to play a game it stared lagging badly. it dose not matter what game it is new or old and it lags. the gpu load is the same and and cpu you is the same fan and temp.

I built a computer for my friend recently using used parts. He uses it mostly for easy to play games like: Overwatch, OS runescape, LoL, CSGO (Ect..) Current system specs: MOBO - ASRock H110M-HDS R3.0 LGA 1151 CPU - Pentium G4400 GPU - Radeon HD 7770 RAM - 4gb of DDR4 (Will upgrade to 8GB) 500W PSU He's been restricted to playing on low settings on some games, and I felt that was my fault for choosing the crap card. So I took it upon myself to send him a GTX 660 2gb Asus I bought for 60 bucks. My question is: How badly will the G4400 bottleneck this card? Will he need to upgrade his CPU to the G4560? Thanks! TJ

So I have just traded my younger sibling a EVGA GTX 960 3GB for his reference GTX 660 1.5GB, The reason for this trade is his system was a prebuilt from his father that had recently passed away and it was equipped with the aforementioned 660, an I7 4790 non-k skew, 8gb of ram, ect. I decided to trade him so he would have a more balanced system with better FPS for any newer games he may decide to play. My original plan for the 960 was to build an HTPC with it but felt rather bad about using a gpu with such horsepower for simple video streaming/decoding pc for netflix and youtube. But my general question I guess now would be, would the 660 be a good match up for this task since it is an older GPU? I figure even with having a dedicated GPU within the HTPC we could still use it for mild games on the living room TV such as Minecraft and single player games.

Ok so i found what some of the problems with my Sabertooth P67 were caused by. a jumper wasent there, so nothing you did in the BIOS aplied, so it was trying to overclock my I7 2600 and overclocking my RAM way out of spec lol. that solved some of it, so i tried if SLI worked but i got the exact same strangeness as last time. NVIDIA contollpanel dosent show the second GTX 660, devicemanager dosent show the second GTX 660 BUT NVIDIA controllpanel says there is 4GB of VRAM of which 2GB is dedicated and of all things, DDU finds both GPUs... i have no clue why it does, it just does. GPU 0 and GPU 1, both with identical descriptions. there is no way i have found to check connected devices in BIOS and barely anything regarding PCI-E either. i have no idea how this is a thing that id does but some things seem to see the second card and some dont. if someone know a way to make it see the second GPU that would be nice but if not im just going to put a R9 280X TriX in there when i get it and just never try doing SLI ever again because i have had SOOOOOOO many problems with it. thanks for any help and any replies

soo i have a question wich gpu would i be better of with ? Gtx660 (ti) or Gtx750 (ti) i watched some videos where gtx660 is deffinately better but in some cases mostly newer games (i guess) gtx750 takes the lead. i wont be playing a lot of games on it mostly Assassin's Creed series, GTA V and some shooters like Cod and BF. what's your experience with the card and which one would you suggest more... P.S i'm building a new budget pc witch socket 1155, with 8gb ddr3 ram and probobly i3 2240 (also i currently have gtx 460 v2 1gb) so what's your thoughts on it and what other alternative would you suggest for best budget price ? thank you

So I recently gutted an old Alienware rig that had been working. I ended up pulling out two OEM 660s. I've attempted to install one into an old rig I had, but during driver installation it would black screen and upon restart it would freeze on the windows splash screen. I was wondering if anyone knows the fix to this problem. Thank you in advance <3

Hey guys. A while ago, I had some problems with a computer of mine where the PSU failed and took the graphics card I had installed at that moment (a Sapphire HD6670) and I need a GPU to replace it because I don't have another spare one. So, as the title lightly suggests, I have a friend willing to sell me her GTX 660 (from Gigabyte). The thing is, we have no idea what the value of said card is. Is there any website where I can check out that value or is there anyone experienced on this kind of stuff who knows an average price for it? Thanks in advance, everyone!

Today I decided to do an analysis of my brothers Alienware X51 GTX 660 Model. I found this: Part Name Ebay Price GTX 660 60 Samsung 256gb SSD 85 micron 2x8gb Sticks 92 DVD Player 15 Core i7 3770 3.4ghz 130 ALL PARTS TOTAL 382 Alien Ware x51 gtx 660 700 Now I found this interesting because paying for all the parts costs $382, but paying for the computer with an Alienware Logo is about 700-750$. This surprises me because of the tech actually inside the computer. The GTX 660 is worth 60 dollars today but inside an Alienware computers its worth about $120. I just found it weird people will pay almost 100% extra for a logo.

Hello everyone! I'm a broke High School graduate in Australia, and making my return to the tech world, I have recently decided to upgrade my 2013 gaming PC which I love dearly but has it has its fair share of issues and I want to upgrade, especially the asthetics. Currently, it contains: Intel i7 3770k Intel Stock cooler (I know so sad) Sabretooth z77 Corsair Vengence 16GB DDR3 Ram Gtx 660 DC2-2GD5 Coolermaster Scout 2 Coolermaster 1000W powersupply Silver 2TB Seagate Barracuda HDD I'm going to get an NZXT S340 Elite, SSD, some fans and an AIO, my main question is (before I upgrade my Mother board which will be happening mid next year hopefully) will my sabretooth z77 and AIO fit inside it? Thank you! Ranger Tolley

Hey folks, I was panning on making the upgrade to an ultra-wide monitor at a resolution of 2560 x 1080; however, I have a gtx660. I wanted to know if anyone can give me an idea if the card will be compatible with a monitor of that resolution and an estimate of what sort of performance I should see in the games I play. (I don't play any demanding titles, just Dota2, CS:GO, and Overwatch). Thank you everybody for the quick responses and solving my problem!

So the time as finally come, Gtx 10 series is out along with Amd releasing the rx4 series. I currently have a reference design Gtx 660 w/ 2gb of ddr5 ram. While I haven't had the card for more than even a year (It was given to me by a friend) It's occurred to me that it just isn't enough for me. While I'm mostly a light gamer I find more and more that the AAA games I plan on playing once the prices drop down in the next round of AAA (my way of gaming on a budget) Have my card as meeting minimum requirements and the few games I have played that are heavier do dip lower than comfortable forcing me to lower the settings way down. Specs: CPU: Xeon E5440 @ 2.83ghz Ram: 8gb ddr2 800mhz PSU: 550w EVGA 80+bronze GPU: Previously mentioned gtx660 So my question is what would you recommend for an upgrade gpu wise? I know my system has some age to it and I do plan on doing an overhaul someday but at the moment I would like to focus on squeezing out a bit more performance gpu wise. I figure If I can squeeze some more out with a gpu upgrade it'll be worth it when I do a cpu/ram/mobo overhaul, I've already paid the $100-$220 on a gpu (hint hint price point) So to summarize, what do you guys think would be worth it, if anything. Is that price point too low to get a real difference? I've found to gpu hierarchy charts that indicate that might be the case. I've been thinking maybe just an rx480 but I want to get a shorter card if possible (hoping to have a smaller case in the future). My playable palate is sort of a very unpicky as long at I've got a steady above 40 fps medium I'm usually happy (what I don't know don't hurt me)

Hey At the moment I have a prebuilt Acer Predator G3620 I bought nearly 4 years ago, and I've been wanting to upgrade it for some time. It's mainly the GPU, GTX 660, that I felt has been the limiting factor for better performance in games. I think I'm going to buy the 1060 or 480 to replace it with, but I've also been wanting to built my own new computer to have it be more upgrade-friendly in the next couple of years, so I've been planning on reusing the old parts from my prebuilt, so I could save some money, but I'm not sure if thats the best idea so I would love to get some input. Im guessing I would have to buy a new motherboard, since I'm pretty sure the current one is a custom one that doesn't fit in a new case. My current CPU is the i7-3770, which I would assume would be fine to pair with the 1060 or 480 for 1080p60fps for the next couple of years? My current RAM consist of 4 x 4GB 1333MHz which I would guess also would be fine for a new build? The power supply is a 500W, ( FSP500-70EP), which again I'm assuming would be fine and fit in the the new build? And I'm also guessing i can reuse the 2 TB HDD + the SSD i recently installed? Now, if I was to get a new motherboard and case, does anyone have some advise on which to get, since it's a bit confusing and overwhelming for me to figure out at the moment with all the motherboard sizes and socket types. Thanks for any help or input

Hey so I was messing around with overclocking my gtx660 because I dont get that smooth of a frame rate if its not overclocked and I kinda got into the heck of a deal and cranked up the power limit to 119 and I got a big spike in fps yada yada. Long story short I dont know what a safe core clock and memory clock should be and what a safe temperature is. Like I crank up my core clock and memory clock and I dont get any texture tears or anything but I get my temperature going up to about 110 was jsut wondering if its safe with such a temperature. I have never got into hardcore overclocking thats why I have these questions.

Hello linustechtips! I'm pretty (very) new to the community, and I have (hopefully) a quick question on an issue I've been having. I've been playing Just Cause 3, however my graphics card keeps crashing to desktop, giving the following fatal error: https://gyazo.com/6b1e43fd7f1dfbcca5d282eca7cce5cd I have everything optimized to GeForce's recommendations (seen here: ) Here are my specs: https://gyazo.com/20ff459af7ec5c42af5c4959f8c20950 If any other information is required, let me know, and thanks in advance for all your help! Hello, For the past couple of months, I have been trying to find a way to update my GTX660's graphics drivers through NVIDIA GeForce Experience on Windows 10. On previous windows installations, such as Windows 7, 8, and 8.1, I had no issues getting this to work. I am, however, able to manually download and install drivers by searching for them on NVIDIA's website, but it is quite an inconvenient workaround. I would much rather have my PC do it on its own, or with little effort on my part, as it had done in the past. The error message I get whenever I try to install the drivers from GeForce Experience is as follows: Installation cannot continue This NVIDIA graphics driver is not compatible with this version of Windows. This graphics driver could not find compatible hardware. I feel it is related to it not downloading the right drivers from NVIDIA's servers. I could be wrong though, as I have no idea why it isn't working. My antivirus does not block GeForce Experience, and I run GeForce experience as an administrator. If this helps at all, I also am not able to run GeForce Experience from clicking on it from the system tray, unless I force it to run NOT as administrator. No idea if the issue is linked, but it may help to know that information. If anyone else has gotten this error and has fixed it, or knows how to fix it, please let me know! EDIT: Driver fusion window
