Hi! I got a GTX 560 (i know its old) but my PSU doesnt have the two 6 pin cable that the 560 needs, can i run it without or with only one 6 pin cable? And btw it has a mini HDMI and twi of the DVI ports with the crosss, can i also put a dvi cable with only the line in there?

Hi all, So two weeks ago I finally retired my old PC. It's nice to finally have new hardware, but I'm a bit sad to be retiring it! Even if most of the components in it are 6 years old or less, I still consider it to be an evolution of the original rig I built all the way back in 2007. We go way back. But I have another reason besides nostalgia to be sad about the retirement of this rig: It was still pretty great for everything I did except gaming. In fact, most of the time when I use a friend's (or work's) laptop or PC for general stuff like web browsing, word processing, or watching videos, they feel hopelessly sluggish in comparison to what was a mid-range PC at best even when it was new. But we all know that tech comes down in size and price over time, so I'm curious: Does anyone know how much would I pay for a brand new Laptop with modern parts but similar performance today? Hi, Im from Lithuania (EU) and I need your help deciding what to do My current PC: i5 2500 non K (loud stock cooler) gtx 560 mb GA-PA65-UD3-B3 http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3795#sp 2x4GB ddr3 ram storage: 1TB hdd, 250gb samsung evo 850 horrible noname psu feel 600W thermaltake v4 case (very bad for cable management) Our local tech forum suggested me to buy used i7 3770 cpu, maybe more ddr3 ram + 8gb and 1060 or 1070 depending on resolution I want. How safe it is to buy used cpu and how should I test it before buying? any other option will cost me x4 or even 5 times more (Skylake i7 6700 system). Would be great if you could recommend me 2 different builds for 1080p and 1440p with monitors. My current monitor is a small 21,5" ips display. My budget is ~max2000eur. PC will be used for heavy and intense gaming in latest titles. I appreciate any help that you can provide

Hey guys, A few weeks ago I started work on my first ever pc mod for a spring break project and it's finally done. This was done on a tight budget and old parts laying around so don't be to impressed with the specs okay. Let's start with the specs. LMAO as you can see these are just spare parts lying around because my smol little 15 year old self couldn't spend a lot. The project begins with mounting my lga1155 motherboard to the 1/8 in Baltic Birch plywood left over from making a few longboards (Seen in later pictures, bottom 2). I originally started by screwing motherboard standoffs into the wood but I decided to go with something more secure so later I used m3 screws with plastic 3d printed spacers in between. The bleed edge celeron in all of its glory lmao I began to plan everything out with pencil as well as start making holes for the cables. The holes were eventually cleaned up with a file. Test boot with my other computer because my power supply hadn't come in the mail yet. This was right after I had gotten my GTX 560 off of craigslist for $50. Bask in the 2011 era graphics card and all its glory. I eventually began mounting everything else to the piece of wood including the graphics card separated from the motherboard. Getting the nut screwed in was very difficult. I cut off the extra wood with a table saw and also cut the trim for the edges of the board. I took everything off and began my first coat of pure white paint. I later applied a second. I chose this paint to match the trim of my bedroom. I began painting the trim pieces orange. The 2 extra cheap $5 sketchy PCI-E riser cables came in the mail. I took off the tape and carefully inspected the sloppy solders. One of the risers was fine but I noticed a small imperfection on the other one while looking through a magnifier glass. The 2 solder points were barely connected and I proceeded to force them apart with a razor blade. After testing both the risers worked which was great because I didn't want to buy the $100 3M ones. I smothered the solders with hot glue for strength and then covered that in electrical tape. I began taping off the board for painting. It was very tedious work. The painting was ruff and took a long time but I finished the design and it made a very good "10 ft mod". Never the less I'm still very happy with the painting because I had little to no painting skills. I added the trim that keeps the board of the wall and hides the wires with glue and assembled the entire thing and it was done. I added picture frame wire hangers to the back and mounted it to my wall. The power button was added later to the top left. I'm veryyyyyy happy with how this build turned out. It was my first ever mod and I made on a very tight budget. I plan to upgrade the processor later but for now it sorta works okay. Thankfully this isn't my main rig. My main has a gtx 970 and an overclocked FX 8350 and a Samsung 850 EVO all in a NZXT S340. This was just a fun spring break project that I finished a few weeks after spring break. Spring break was gross and rainy. I don't have the cable management situated yet either for any of the i/o. I actually made this entire build log on this PC.

So I've been recently trying to find an old cheap graphics card for a pc im building. I'm aware gtx 560 ti and hd6870 are better then gtx 470. But does the gtx 470 have good drivers or are they showing their age? I can usually find better buying options for the gtx 470.

Hello all, recently I upgraded my graphics card to a MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 2GB and have noticed some issues when gaming and general use. When playing games I could run fine with my ASUS GeForce GTX 560 1GB DirectCU, I now notice a FPS stutter every so often and sometimes complete freezes. Some programs have crashed as well since the upgrade. I've done some research and have narrowed it down to insufficient power. I currently have a Gigabyte power supply with a continuous output of 450W. But upon further research I noticed my new card uses less than my old one. The GTX 960 power consumption is 120W and my old GTX 560 used 225W. SO what is the go here? The rest of my specs are - Intel Core i5-3570 CPU 3.40GHz | Gigabyte H77M-D3H Motherboard | 1TB HDD | 120 GB SSD| Really hope you guys can help, thanks

I have just bought a pc from my friend and did a clean install of windows. His computer functioned fine when he used it but my nvidia GeForce gtx560 driver keeps failing on me. It says that my nvidia display driver (version 334.???) stopped responding and recovered or something like that. I installed the latest driver for it and after installing some windows updates I think the problem got even worse. Tried installing an old version of the driver but it turned out to be completely unusable. After a restore to the latest nvidia driver I found that I'm still getting a lot of black screens and end up crashing my computer. Any advice here?

I've noticed my GPU is becoming rather hot as of late. Usually when I play games now, I've seen it reach 92°C and actually crashed upon playing game earlier. Now though, my temperatures are slowly creeping up when i'm just sat on the desktop or browsing the web. Right now, i'm looking at 63° and rising. The card is getting pretty old now and my case isn't exactly optimized for cooling, but I've never seen it this bad. I've tried cleaning the card out (removing dust) and even performed a Malware scan and still no luck. I have no idea what could be causing my card to get this hot. Any ideas out there? I've pretty much exhausted all other options

Hi guys. I am gonna buy a GTX 560 to replace my 8800GT that I had got almost got for free and fixed the artifacts on. However, when looking at the requirements for it, it says that I need 2x 6 pin connectors to power it, but my PSU only has 1. The minimum PSU power needed to power it is 450W, and I have a 475W one. So my question is if I could use a Molex to 6 pin adaptor to power that GPU while also using the other 6 pin. Thanks. Here is my PSU model: DPS-475CB A (I have a xw4600 HP Workstation...)

He guys can help me some advice about a GPU upgrade? I have a ASUS GTX 560 non ti, and want to upgrade to a new GPU. But a friend of mine sell his ASUS GTX 580 Matrix for about $200. I was thinking i could sell mine for about $100, and buy the GTX 580. Then i was thinking save a bit more and buy the GTX 760 that will cost me about $320+. & other thing importing item to my country is expensive. Just recently resurrected a old mobo of mine with a LGA 1156 socket on it. did some work and here are my specs. Mobo: Asus P7P55D CPU: i5 750 overclocked to 3.5GHz @ 1.3v GPU: 2x Asus GTX 560 TOP OC PSU: 700watt cheapo. Cooling: Thermaltake 760 Plus for CPU only, GPUs are on air. OS: on a 90Gb SSD from Corsair's Force 3 Series. Running Win 8.1 Ram: 3x2Gb Corsair XMS3 Reason: To Fold, hence why im in this forum section with it. Problems occurred: Broke my watertank on the 760plus, i stressed it too much during a cleaning i twisted it with the pump as leverage on accident. i had to reglue it back, now its soo sketchy having it live on tho... i dont want leaks. the MOBO and ram was used in AquaPC therfore was covered in oil. i managed to clean most of the oil. I also noticed one of my pins in the mobo socket was slightly bent up in the corner of the socket. after a gentle push with a small eye glass screw driver, it sadly well fell out. didnt even get it over to where it needed to be. but yes im still running with it. and for some reason even overclocked. i was simply surprised when the system even booted. I also realized, windows 8.1 Reads all 6Gb of ram, but states 2Gb usable, not sure how to correct this. Temps: Anywho thats my Folding Rig quick thread. wasn't gunna make a build log or anything. just figured ill post in the folding fourm to show what people can do with old hardware they are no longer using. Hey guys! I know this might be a noob question but when I overclock my EVGA GTX 560 and run kombustor benchmarks, it only uses: 405.0MHz of Core Clock 162.0MHz of Memory Clock 910.0MHz of Shader clock even though the GPU usage is already 100% here's a photo And here's a screenshot of GPU-Z I also bumped up the voltage to 1.025. Is this normal? or is there something wrong?

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with MSI RMA. Sending my card in tomorrow and hoping I won't have any problems. Any guesses what my 560 will be replaced with? I just hope it has 2GB VRAM. Then I might be able to put off buying a new card for another year or so.

When I play bf3 on a 560ti 1gb it always crashes like every 20 minutes giving me a directx error(out of vram). But there are so many people playing bf3 with my card or worse with no problems. Anyone know what the issue is? I play at 1680x1050. Also i have 8gb of ram. i5 3570k and an asrock z77 extreme 4 motherboard. I have 2 monitors but the second one is connected to the motherboard by VGA. The main 1680x1050 display is connected to my graphics card.
