Recently I've been having problems with my GPU fan on my Asus Geforce GTX 1660 Ti fans, while under semi-heavy load while playing anything from the modern day the fans turn on full blast for a few seconds and then shut off and they just keep doing the same thing. Is my card busted or is there a problem with the fan speed in something like Afterburner or my BIOS?

Edit: video of a different GPU making a very similar noise: weird GPU noise - YouTube After running for a few minutes playing a demanding game (in this case, playing RDR2, but it happened with Death Stranding as well), the GPU will start making this sound. Most audible between 0:01 and 0:04, as well as 0:17, despite the cooler above running at 100%. There are no performance issues whatsoever; the game was running at 60 FPS (Vsync enabled). I've only ever seen a black artifact once while watching Netflix. Is it just a dust issue, or could it be something else entirely? Perhaps the PSU, which I've been told is horrible? Greetings, I've recently built a PC with some of my older components GPU :GTX 1660 Ti CPU: AMD FX-8320 Eight Core 3.5 GHz Ram: 2 X 4 GB DDR 3 SSD: 256 GB Are my Ram sticks and CPU holding back my GPU ? I've been told that my CPU still holds up til this day even though I've had it since 2014. I've looked into this a lot and I couldn't find anyone with a similar system configuration. Thank you.

Longer version and questions: Since I am getting a new graphics card, the GTX 1660 ti, i thought it might be time to get a new monitor considering that i currently only have a 1366x768 VA tv as my pc monitor. I knew nothing about monitors but got a basic understanding of them and found a few potential candidates. I enjoy the deeper blacks of the VA panel and I dont think id like an IPS because of the IPS bloom and color bleeding. Since I am investing more money into this i want a 144hz panel. My current monitor is 24" and it feels kinda small so id like a 27". Ill be using the monitor mostly for internet browsing, youtube and gaming. The following question I have are: 1080p or 1440p on a GTX 1660 ti? Maybe take the 1440p one as a way of future proofing when buying a new graphics card? Is ghosting really noticeable on VA monitors? I currently have a crappy VA tv and dont notice it so i probably wont notice it on a new better display Is 27" too big for 1080p? 1080p with games reaching closer to 144fps or 1440p with games with a worse framerate? Shorter version and Monitors i found: The things I think would be good are: VA panel 144hz 1080p or 1440p (on a GTX 1660ti) 27" size Good Colours The monitors i found online available in Hungary (there are probably better ones): MSI Optix MAG271CR (1080p) Samsung C27FG73 (1080p) MSI Optix G27C2 (1080p) MSI Optix MPG27CQ (1440p) Samsung C27HG70 (1440p) The 1080p panels are similarly priced and so are the 1440p panels. The websites I used for finding monitors and checking the quality are: https://www.displayninja.com/gaming-monitor-list/ https://www.displayspecifications.com/ Which one should I choose (doesnt have to be on the list)? Sorry for bad English.

Hi, so a while ago I decided to upgrade my GPU. The problem is that I can't decide which to pick. I also have a Ryzen 5 1600 CPU. My first option is a RX 590 Sapphire Nitro+ S.E. model, which comes with a 3 month Xbox Game Pass and is 215$. Second is a GTX 1660 Gigabyte Windforce OC model, which does not come with anything and is 230$. And the last option for me is a GTX 1660 Ti MSI Ventus model, which does not come with anything and is 270$. I'd go for GTX 1660 Ti without asking but in a few benchmarks I've seen my CPU bottlenecking it so I wanted to ask here aswell. Thanks for answering!

I have a gigabyte gtx 1660 ti oc 6g and one of the fan doesn't work as it's supposed to. Yesterday I noticed while playing games that one fan wasn't spinning, I thought it would be because of the dirt etc even tho the comp. isn't even close to being dirty I still cleaned it a little. On boot both the fan span(after the boot both fans stopped spinning) then when I started a game the same problem occurred when I touched the fan it started spinning then I waited for the temps to drop so that the fans would stop spinning and then proceeded to start another game to see if the thing would happen it didn't and the fan worked fine now today the same problem occured What is the problem? And please tell me the solution also the card is in warranty so should I return it or does the warrant not cover this

Hi guys, I'm stuck on deciding the gpu of my pc build. Just when i finally decided to buy the RTX 2060, i just found out that it is overkill for my full hd 60hz monitor. Many people said that there will be screen tearing and lagging something like that. So it wouldn't be a good experience playing on it. I just bought the monitor last month and it wasn't my plan to build a pc at that time. My plan was to buy a gaming laptop. But i have changed my mind and thought to build a gaming pc instead. Now I'm not sure which gpu to buy. I can't upgrade my monitor for at least 2 or 3 years so I'm not sure which gpu would be compatible with my 60hz monitor. My monitor does have free sync in it. So i am thinking maybe 1660 ti would be compatible. Please any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Recent upgrade from Win7 to Win10. New Win10 build v. 1809 GIGABYTE Z390 AORUS Pro WiFi Intel i7 8700K Corsair 16GB (2x8) DDR4 3000MHz Gigabyte Nvidia 1660Ti Corsair RM650x (2018) PSU Dual 4K monitors All new hardware and build. Set up and installed Win10 before the video card arrived. I used one monitor via the onboard HDMI port until I received and installed the new card. (Gigabyte/Nvidia 1660 Ti) New build worked while I waited for the card, using the MoBo HDMI port and my monitor. After install of the new card, no signal from either the MoBo port or the video card HDMI port. Display ports on supplying both my monitors work fine with the new PCI Nvidia card. However, the HDMI port supplying my television does not. All I get is a blank black screen, with no signal other than black. My television does, however, show this black screen, instead of the "No Signal" message I'd get if nothing were connected. When connected to a monitor, it gets some kind of signal. - Most times, I can get the windows splash screen, then all goes black. My television still works with my Blu-Ray player and the same cables with HDMI. HDMI on the motherboard port does NOT work at all, now that the Nvidia card is installed, regardless of BIOS detection settings. I've done the basic suggested fixes in Win 10 that I've found searching online, like re-installing drivers, attempting to identify, or detect a display, or set up multiple monitors in 'Settings.' Other things I've done: Tried switching from onboard video to PCI and back for the first video detected in BIOS. Tried a different cable, both to my monitors and to TV = same result Tried two different monitors with four different cables, including brand new. Display ports work normally with or without HDMI connected. Tried unplugging all but HDMI cable. Re-installed Nvidia driver Updated BIOS and Chipset A couple of times, an "unknown device on PCI" was shown in the Device Manager. Deleting it and trying to get it to re-recognize and install, or finding a driver for the device resulted in nothing. Hope someone can help, this has me buffaloed.

Hello, so i've been thinking about upgrading my GPU, the idea is to either get a GTX 1660 ti or get a RTX 2060 and later (a couple of months to get enough money) also get an i7 (4770/4790) in case there's too much bottleneck. The reason i wanted a 2060 is because it would allow me to utilize better my fullHD 144hz monitor, but apart from the possible bottleneck there's also the problem that my monitor only supports 144hz trough a DVI-D dual link cable (i tried using a HDMI 2.0 cable and it only sees it as 60hz) and all modern GPUs only have Display Port and HDMI no DVI. What do you recommend to do? Here's the current setup: CPU: Intel - Core i5-4590 3.3 GHz Quad-CoreCooler: Cooler Master - Hyper 212 EVOMB: MSI - H97 GAMING 3 ATX LGA1150RAM: Corsair - Vengeance LP 16 GB (4 x 4 GB) DDR3-1600 GPU: MSI - GeForce GTX 960 2 GBSSD: Samsung - 850 EVO-Series 120 GB 2.5"HDD: Western Digital - Caviar Blue 1 TB 3.5" 7200RPMCase: Zalman - Z11 Plus ATX Mid TowerPSU: XFX - 550 W 80+ Bronze Certified ATXMonitor: Asus - VG278HV 27.0" 1920x1080 144 Hz

I built a PC about half a year ago and all has been well. I've been using an Acer monitor I found on Amazon and it has been working great with no problems. Recently I decided to buy a second monitor. This one is the Acer XFA240 which is GSync compatible. The issue is whenever I try to play games, the new monitor goes black and restarts itself. This only happens when both monitors are on. I have no idea why it does this and I can't figure it out. I have a friend who uses dual monitors and his works fine when he does the exact same tasks I am doing right now. My GPU is the GTX 1660 Ti and I'm using a Ryzen 5 2600X. Thanks for any help I get. DxDiag.txt

I'm building a new pc, but i havent decided on everything just yet. Most importantly the gpu. I'm still waiting for the gtx 1660 ti to hit my market and see the price. But i wanted to ask on your guys opinions on whats better. Prices for the RTX 2060 here are looking in between 390-510 euros depending on which brand etc...I'm estimating a price of around 320-340 euros for the gtx 1660 ti. Currently the build is looking like this: CPU: i5-9600k COOLER: Be quiet! dark rock 4 or Scythe Mugen 5 rev.B RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3200MHz 16GB (2x8) CMK16GX4M2B3200C16 MB: MSI Z390-A PRO GPU: RTX 2060 or GTX 1660 ti SSD: Samsung SSD 850 EVO 500GB(from my prev pc) HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200 rpm PSU: ??? CASE: ??? Also which brand is the best of each respective card? PS: for 1080p gaming Thanks

Nvidia launched their newest GPU today the GTX 1660 Ti. AnandTech in their review tested the Single-Precision FAHBench on a EVGA's lowest end model the 1660 Ti XC Black Gaming and it produces about the same as the 1070FE so about 700-800kPPD. The model tested is a 2.75-slot "short board" not the likely better performing XC Ultra Gaming that features dual fans and a 2 slot width more compatible with multiple GPU setups on most z370/390 and x-series boards. So at MSRP of 279US$ for the XC Black and $309US$ for the Ultra models do these represent the best bang for the buck for folding these days given the Ray Tracing Tax built into the RTX models? Looking at Value (kPPD/$) and Efficiency (kPPD/W) we see: Cost Yield TDP Value Efficiency Model MSRP kPPD W kPPD/$ kPPD/W RTX 2080 Ti 999 2400 260 2.40 9.23 RTX 2080 699 1400 225 2.00 6.22 RTX 2070 499 1275 185 2.56 6.89 RTX 2060 349 1050 160 3.01 6.56 GTX 1660 Ti 279 750 130 2.69 5.77 So the 1660 Ti does not have a value advantage over the 2060 and is less efficienct based on estimated performance. If real world testing confirms the yield at 700-800kPPD then the 2060 is still the better buy if cost is not a limiting factor.

gtx 1660 ti Error Code 43 (pink horizontal dashes)
Ijustwantmypcfixed posted a topic in Graphics Cards
Hello all, I recently put together a system a few months ago I linked the specs as a photo below. The build ran fine for about a month and a half until I ran into the first occurrence of the pink dashes. It was after I updated drivers like an idiot but it went away after a reboot so it was fine. It happened again 2 weeks ago but this time much worse I got error code 43. I tried many things to fix it like: -Updating bios -DDU and reinstalling older drivers -Resetting PC -Re-sitting Video Card -Contacted Nvidia support and downloading hot fix At that point I gave up and powered down the pc for the night and unplugged the power. After I had woken up and booted up the pc everything was in perfect working order. There was no difference in performance or anything. This “fix” lasted until last night where my monitors literally flashed white blinding me and froze. I power cycled the pc and when I turned it on I was met with the pink dashes again my second monitor got no signal and I was back to error 43. My restore points that I had saved magically disappeared as-well. This time I tried a lot of other options out of desperation, -Downloading GeForce Experience, it would say no driver detected and after updating through GE it would still show that I needed to update. -Removing video card, using DDU, replacing card and updating drivers -Checking for viruses -Resetting PC again -Letting windows update drivers (which would say it encountered an error) -Stopping Windows updates I already have it set in my mind that I will buy a new card but is there someone that knows how to fix this issue while I wait? I also don’t have another pc to test the card in because I am overseas. -
Hi there, So about 3 days ago, I bought the MSI GTX 1660 Ti Gaming X. Everything was fine for the first 2 days, but then today when I launch my Minecraft modpack with shaders, I can barely get 60 FPS when I used to get over 144... Any idea what's causing my GPU to act like this? I launched task manager to see what the GPU is doing. It's on 100% but it doesn't even use half of it's dedicated memory. Any idea what's causing this/how do I fix this? I make videos and stuff so I can't just let this be and accept that my card just got 2 times worse. Thanks.

I currently own a RX 560 but I want upgrade my screen. I was wondering how a GTX 1660/GTX 1660 TI would perform with either a 1080p screen or a 1440p screen (both 60hz). I'll be pairing it with a i7-4790K and 12gb of ram. a list of games I currently play (don't know if it helps): *League of Legends *Rocket League *World of warcraft *The Witcher 3 *GTA V *Dirty Bomb *CSGO *Payday 2 If you have any recommendations for a different card (MAX 300 euro) or own a gtx 1660/TI yourself and could give me some info I'd highly appreciate it.

I'm on a budget and I don't know which GPU to pair with my CPU. I'm looking to get the most fps I possibly can on modern titles . I saw a strange benchmark where the 1660 Ti was giving me more fps with the Ryzen 5 1600 than the RX 5700 with the Ryzen 5 1600. I know fps varies when it comes to Nvidia vs AMD and resolution etc. I know there's no way to really avoid bottlenecking but i'm looking for the least bottlenecked option. When it comes to Shadow of the tomb raider (2018) Ultra Graphics 1920x1080 , It says I'm getting 77.4 fps with the RX 5700 with the Ryzen 5 1600 While I'm getting more fps 79.8 fps with the Gtx 1660 Ti ? Is there something I don't understand ? I'm very confused I can get the RX 5700 and Ryzen 5 1600 for the same price as the Gtx 1660 Ti with an i5 9400f In my country !!! I know the i5 9400f will give me slightly better fps boost than the Ryzen 5 1600 What should I do???? https://www.gpucheck.com/gpu/amd-radeon-rx-5700/amd-ryzen-5-1600/

So I've been looking at the 1660 super for a while, and on Newegg they are having a sale on their GTX 1660 Ti at the moment. The card is priced the exact same as a 1660 super right now, so I'm wondering if I should buy it or not. I have also been looking at a used 1070 (though the 1660 ti would be about on par and would be new anyway. But the real question is whether I should buy the 1660 ti or wait until the RX 5600XT comes out. thanks
