Hello, I have a system I built back in 2017 and I'm wondering if this is considered good for what I have. I ran a benchmark on heaven 4.0 Gtx 1080 ti asus poseidon I7 6700k xmp profile and running at 4.6 16gb trident z ram Customer water loop. Temps are getting up to 68 C I feel like it is running too hot for a water cooled card that also has fans on it as well. And I don't really understand the settings in Gpu tweak, I just kinda raise them until it crashes lol. I really don't know much about overclocking so I have no idea what's good or bad or average. Any help is appreciated. I attached 3 pictures. Scores with 1080p and 1440p and also my gpu tweak settings. I just want to make sure this is safe to run in games and that nothing looks weird. Thanks!

I’ve been looking into the used market and I see that 900 series cards like the 970 and up and the 1060 3gb and up fit my budget. Are they still worth getting in 2022?

graphicscards Why are only 2 of my 3 GPU fans detected?
ZentralheizungPC posted a topic in Graphics Cards
Hardware info only sees 2 GPU fans, But my rtx 3070 has 3. When I adjust the fan speeds manually in fan control, only 2 fans spin. But when I open a game, all 3 fans start spinning. What is going on? What hwinfo sees: What happens when i control fan speed manually: All three fans spinning when starting a game: So why arent all 3 fans detected when they clearly work? Its annoying. -

Hi LTT Community! So a year ago, my brother got a £150/$200 PC from eBay, but was quite disappointed when games like CSGo weren’t running very playable, so I was wondering if you guys had any ideas for good graphics cards, personally I’m thinking about getting him a RTX 580 from Nvidia, or a RTX 1650, once again from Nvidia. Let me know what you guys think, I’m open to all suggestions!

In my device manager, I see two display adapters: -Intel HD Graphics 3000 (onboard graphics) -AMD Radeon 6600M and 6700M Series (switchable graphics as far as I know) To my knowledge, my games on Steam use my onboard graphics. Is there any way to let my games use the switchable graphics? And, will it have a performance improvement over the onboard graphics? Also, what is the difference between onboard graphics and switchable graphics?

Hi LTT community. I've been searching the internet for info about compatibility around the ASUS GeForce GTX 1080Ti ROG Strix and I can't seem to find any info about if it will fit on my MOBO or not (I had in mind to buy 2 of them and set them up with an SLI HB bridge). Now my MOBO is the ASUS X99-S and my CPU is the i7 5820k and I've checked the ASUS homepage for specs, but this is where I get confused (PCIe info shown below). 40-Lane CPU-5 x PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 (x16, x16/x16, x16/x16/x8, x8/x8/x16/x8, x8/x8/x8/x8/x8 mode) *11 x PCIe 2.0 x4 (max at x4 mode) *228-Lane CPU-3 x PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 (x16, x16/x8, x8/x8/x8) 2 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (x1 mode) 1 x PCIe 2.0 x4 (max at x4 mode) *2 I do not understand what it actually means, because when I look at my MOBO the PCIe's, they all look the same and I wouldn't know where I should put the graphic cards (my guess is 1 should be put at the first slot and the second should be put at the 3rd or 4th slot). Can you help me?

Hello, So i'm stuck between getting a 1080 or a 1070. I'm going for longevity (I know so just get the 1080) but price is always a thing, and i'm only looking for 1080p at 60 frames. Would a 1070 be just fine for that kind of use in modern games for the next few years maybe more? Thanks for any replies really appreciate it. UPDATE: Thanks everyone for the replies! definitely helps and am definitely siding with a 1070. Spend some extra in cooling memory or anything really haha. Thanks again.

So I am building a video editing computer. I am 99% sure that I want to go with an AMD cpu. I am still a little torn between a 3700/3800/3900x or going Threadripper rout. Also to be honest, no idea what graphics card is going to provide the best bang for the buck. I want it to be known that I do not game at all. So gaming performance is irrelevant to me. I will be working with gorpo 4k footage and gopro 1080 240fps and 120 and 60fps footage. Also Some insta 360 footage. Any valuable input is greatly appreciated.

Hello all, I am getting ready to build a computer for a cousin of mine. He is not a "gamer". He likes to work with Blender to create animations and such. The You Tube videos and other sources show mainly benchmarks for games and very little on software like Blender. I would like to know either some place that has benchmarks for Blender such as render time on multi core CPU's , and Graphics cards using either CUDA's or OpenCL. I am further confused now that AMD has released new processors and the new graphics cards. Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance and have a Blessed Day.

I wanted to bring this situation to light, because I don’t see much people talk about it. I am a fan of white themed builds and one of the only companies that create white graphics cards that are extremely powerful, such as the 2080 ti, is Galax. My current PC configuration uses their exoc 1080ti, but I’m planning on upgrading and it seems I will have to ditch a white themed build if I want a 2080 ti. I’m not really up for painting my graphics card, I just want to say that if Galax won’t make it easy for people like me to get white graphics cards, like they do, for people in America, other companies such as ASUS or Msi, should take on this challenge. If anyone knows any decently easy way to get a 2080 ti that is white, much appreciated, but I just want to open this topic up. Who knows maybe Linus can make a video on this, bringing this situation to light.

Hi I want to upgrade my PC in the next couple of months and I had the Sapphire Nitro+ RX 5700 XT in mind but Nvidia announced the release of the 3000 series in June. My budget for the GPU is about 500 bucks. Should I wait or go with the RX 5700 XT? Nvidia is probably notgoing to release them on time so what do you think? The parts I want to upgrade to: Ryzen 7 3700x 32GB DDR4 3200Mhz RAM MSI Tomahawk Max B450 EVGA SuperNOVA 550Watt XPG 500GB Nvme SSD Maybe Sapphire Nitro+ RX 5700 XT?? (Any recommendations for other parts?) Thanks

Hi all. I was sitting at work today an thinking if the GTX 1070Ti is only like 10% less in power than a GTX 1080 would flashing the bios on the 1070ti to a 1080 not work well? If that makes sense I don't know anything about bios flashing gpus I've seen like one or two videos on bios flashing a RX480 to a RX580 and seemed to work well. So was wondering if it would work with a 1070ti to 1080 not that I would ever want to do it just would be cool to see if it would work and how well it would work.

So, I'm having this weird issue where my GPU usage goes from 100% down to 0% for a LONG time, then goes to 100% again. I am having the weirdest lag I've ever experienced, it just feels choppy and just off. My frames go from 144 to 10 within a second. My software is saying that my display is not FreeSync compatible which is weird. Everything else is fine. CPU usage, RAM, even VRAM is only at 77%. It's such an issue that I'm having to play Wasteland 3 on my Xbox instead, because it's lagging so hard it is causing glitches in game. I've never even heard of something like that before. This all started after my PC was having some weird posting issues and I had a computer shop fix it for me. The PC was fine for a day, now it's doing this. Please help me out, thank you guys I'm posting pics of the usage on Radeon.

I have an i9-9900k overclocked to 5.1ghz, an ASUS Rog RTX 2080 ti, and 32gb of G.SKILL 3200mhz ram. The problem, hence the title, is with the graphics card. I have been noticing for quite some time now that my RTX 2080 ti is not necessarily getting me the best fps with games like GTA 5 getting me around 70-90 fps on max settings at 1440p. I have seen countless videos and demonstrations of PCs with near identical components playing GTA at the same resolution with the same settings only for them to get fps closer to 130. After some time, I finally decided to get a solid benchmark of my PC using UserBenchmark only to find that my graphics card is among the worst ever conceived, as seen in the photo. From what I understand about the "lottery" of components is that while performance of certain components may vary, I know for fact that the standard deviation cannot possibly be this high as to give me such an incredibly low performing graphics card. So my question is, what could possibly make my graphics card perform they it does? Could a mistake while building it cause this? Is there some grand optimization setting that I have overlooked? Or could the lottery actually be at fault and I am just screwed? Thank you in advance. P.S, it says that I have an fps cap but I have turned off both GSync and VSync, and have had them off for a while.

Obviously we know that the Vega 64 is a fiend in terms of power consumption and heat output. However, I was wondering if it was worth it in the end. How bad will it throttle? The Vega 64 I am getting seems to be one of those single fan designs unfortunately. Link to card: https://www.powercolor.com/product?id=1503544206 My case doesn't necessarily have what I'd consider to be fantastic air flow. I would've considered upgrading to a Nvidia card. However, I have a FreeSync monitor. I do not want to go through the hassle of buying a more expensive card, monitor, and selling the ones I have. I am getting a GREAT deal on the Vega btw.

This topic would tie into both Graphics Cards and CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory So at the bottom of the text, I will upload my current rig, and what I'm wondering is What should I upgrade... My current options and possibilities would be: To upgrade and change my CPU, Motherboard, and RAM with shiny new parts like an i7 8700k, 16 gigs of DDR4 RAM, etc etc... (currently own an i7 4770 [non-overclockable], and 16 gigs DDR3). The other option would be to purchase either a new RTX 2080 or 2070 and switch out my old card (currently own an MSI GTX1070 GamingX) Some lurking variables to this would be that I'm a VR player so I really need the power from either upgrade, I play many video games and I love to squeeze out the beauty from most of them, and I own a 144Hz 1440p monitor and don't plan on going for 4k just yet because of the price of the 144Hz 4K Gaming Monitor... I would appreciate any and all opinions... Thanks, My PC Rig: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/VnkZcY
