Lately I brought Samsung crg9 monitor, to use for my Asus ROG M15 laptop everything went smooth used it for 3 weeks until I downloaded BF1 the colors and everything went funny, high contrast and brightness. I adjusted everything back to normally except one thing the red color is bit orangy like the YT logo bar and buttons even some old designs I did in red when I open it, the red color shift to orange, even like inside the folder it stay red. I have tried to fix the colors in color management installed the color ICC for the monitor, tried also gamma, NVidia and it still the same and I think its a software problem not hardware related since the files preview shows red until I open them. I attached an example idk if it works or not to explain it Sorry for my bad English.

I just got an LG CX because I am planning to get a PS5 and a new gaming pc, however, I've seen so many posts about this tv having issues with vrr gamma. I wonder if should return the tv and wait for future models that don't have the same issue?

Hi All, Background: I have been having a issue for a few days with my displays colour and gamma calibration. I have an Nvidia GTX 1070 so a couple of days ago I thought I would try move from windows colour management to Nvidia. It was alright, but in the end I decided to leave the windows settings and clicked "Other applications control colour settings" from within the Nvidia control panel. It was fine at that point. Problem: Ever since having restarted, one of my two monitors has an excessively high gamma, and the other is alright, perhaps with a yellow tint. But when I go through the windows colour calibration the settings almost instantly change back (so I will drag the gamma slider down, and for half a second it will look okay and then something will cause the actual gamma on the screen to make it look just like it did previously, even though the slider is down). The same applies to the colour balance settings - they revert to the present uncalibrated values after half a second or so. Things I have tried: I have tried switching to Nvidia controlled colour, but something still changes it back, even when Nvidia is meant to be controlling it. The settings built into the monitor (the one I'm more concerned about is the LG D2342) do work but they can't control gamma. I've done a clean install of the Nvidia drivers, but that had no affect. I've unplugged and replugged the monitor. I've restarted the computer multiple times. I haven't tried uninstalling or disabling the monitor(s) from the device manager. The one I'm concerned about is just listed as Generic PnP Monitor so I guess there isn't anything to do there? Also the issue affects both monitors so I imagine it is something else, but I'm happy to try out any suggestions. The second monitor is a Dell being replaced by the place I work, and it is listed as Dell P2213 in device manager and does have a colour profile of it's own, I believe. Thank you for the help.

Hello, I'd like to have a really true color display which is safe to eyes. I don't know how to set my monitor properly. When I set the brightness or contrast to highest it's too bright. but when I set it to some recommended values I've found on the internet, it seems really dark to me. I've even tried those sites which are supposed to help me to calibrate my screen, but I couldn't see any difference... Do you guys have any suggestions on what to do?

So, I overclocked my monitor from 60hz to 75hz, at 76 it says input not supported. Do you think it's a good idea to keep it at 74hz just in case, so I can have 1hz of safety, just like you generally want to have some free space in front of your toes when buying shoes and not buy ones that are sticking exactly to your toes like glue? Just so I can be sure my monitor is not at the limit of its capabilities of 75hz? Or is 75hz fine? Which brings me to my other question, is overclocking safe? Are there any negative effects? And now to my main question: in the intel hd graphics settings, the gamma is set by default at 1.0, and can be changed in 0.1 intervals. At 1.0 it looks good, although at 1.1 it looks good too. 1.2 and above is too bright, and 0.9 and below is too dark. So at 0.9 and below and 1.2 and above I can definitely tell it's too dark/bright, but between 1.0 and 1.1 I can't tell which is which if I look away for a few seconds and they're scrambled. When I switch from 60 hz to anything above 60hz, the gamma of my monitor is hiddenly decreased by either 0.1 or 0.2. Meaning, in the graphics settings it still shows 1.0, but I can clearly see it's darker. Now the problem is, since there are TWO gamma settings at 60hz where the gamma looks good to me, 1.0 and 1.1, when I switch to 74/75hz, I'm not sure if 1.1 or 1.2 gamma at 74/75hz is the corresponding gamma to 1.0 at 60 hz, since both values look good to me. 1.3 gamma at 74/75hz already looks kinda bright, just like 1.2 gamma does at 60hz, but I feel like 1.2 gamma at 60hz looks slightly brighter than 1.3 at 74/75hz, or that could be just me. I want to be able to compare the two gammas side by side so I can find which value, 1.1 or 1.2 gamma at 74/75hz, is the equivalent value of 1.0 gamma at 60hz. I tried taking screenshots with my phone, but my phone camera is not good enough to distinguish such a small gamma change. The difference of 0.1 gamma is not small enough for it not to matter but not big enough so that I can easily remember it when comparing two good looking gamma values, there's no way to change both refresh rate and gamma at the same time, so I have to first change one and then change the other, and even if there was, it takes about 5 seconds for the refresh rate to change during which my screen is black, so by that time I've already forgotten how the colors exactly looked and that's enough for me not to be able to distinguish between the two gamma values. So how can I somehow compare them to be able to find the REAL gamma value, the one I've been using for years with this monitor? Yes both look good enough for me to use either, but this gamma color holds a special place in my heart so I want to make sure I'm using it rather than 0.1 lower/higher gamma which still looks good

So after a windows update not long ago, this happened. My screen gamma got way darker than my usual amount and preference. So I used Nvidia control panel to increase the gamma to 1.20. However now the screen keep slowly flickering between +1.00 gamma and +1.20 and that is really annoying. Any way to solve this?

I recently replaced the ancient EVGA GeForce GTX 570 HD in my personal rig with an EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 SuperClocked. The new card doesn't support VGA in the sense that the DVI port has pins for analog output, so I had to buy a cheap DisplayPort to VGA adapter. I noticed right away the blacks were too black, despite my monitor having brightness maxed out (at 100) out of the box with the contrast at the default of 75, which worked perfectly with the old 570. The card recognizes the monitor to be plugged via DVI, according to Nvidia Control Panel. It shows two DVI outputs despite there physically being only one, though I am led to believe that is how DisplayPort works with adapters. Unfortunately this "too dark" issue haunts me in the desktop, I mention that because I'm well aware I can "fix" this in game by sliding the brightness setting up or something along those lines, but let's remember that brightness control only works in fullscreen games. So instead of fiddling around with color management, what are some ways I can fix my "very deep blacks to the point where I can't distinguish different shades of dark grey" issue? Don't question why I'm using VGA instead of HDMI, despite my monitor clearly having HDMI ports. I have my reasons.

I am having this weird "gamma problem" with Dell u2515h 1440p monitor, when I try to play games on it in 1080p resolution. The game I am having problems with is witcher 3, the image turns awfully white when I turn the game fron 1440p to 1080p. Adjusting the gamma in game or from monitor settings won't help. Is there some kind of fix you guys know of? might this have something to do with scaling?

Hey everyone, I recently ordered a new Acer K272HUL off Newegg when it was on sale for $225 AR. I'm planning on using it for some light Photoshop work, gaming, and ordinary everyday use. My biggest concern about the monitor is it's color accuracy and gamut (especially at its relatively low price point), as the point of purchasing an IPS monitor is good color reproduction. One review of the monitor (http://www.digitaltrends.com/monitor-reviews/acer-k272hul-review/) includes a section regarding this, and explains they were able to achieve optimal color reproduction at 20% brightness and the monitor's warm color temperature preset. But even with their tuning, the panel's performance still wasn't quite spectacular. My question is, do any of you have experience using/tuning this monitor, and is there a way to get even better colors from it? On a side note, can this monitor also overclock its refresh rate, and by how much?

So this research paper from the Idaho National Labratory shows that with a special app on your phone you can have a fairly good radiation meter for detecting gamma radiation which is pretty amazing and going with the best statement the best camera is the one you have on you. I find it very fair to say the best radiation detector you have is the one on you.
