Budget (including currency): $500 Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: fortnite, valorant, rust, lotta games im not remembering Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I have a dell 9020 I upgraded with an rx 470 4gb and a 600w psu, and an SSD of course. Anyways, this setup is really not wanting to run my games at 1440p, which is the monitor I have. Any upgrade ideas? Im thinking 1080 or 2060, but im concerned that the cpu will be heavily bottle-necking anything more powerful than a 470, and I think it already may be doing so. Would a cpu upgrade be worth it too? And which cpu? Would a motherboard upgrade be a good idea as well? Thanks

Budget (including currency): $1600 AUD (can be $100 +-) Country: Australia Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Streaming, VR, I play a bunch of map games (fairly high in cpu usage), Tarkov and other GPU intensive games. I also study engineering in high school, meaning I’m gonna be doing some stuff with CAD and inventor stress analysis (nothing too demanding). Other details: Basically I’m upgrading from a 2013 iMac (I converted to Windows 10 for gaming don’t worry), I got a high paying job and I wanna start saving for a pc that will do all the things above. I’m planning on buying a 240Hz monitor (I found it for a fairly cheap price on Umart) and a 60Hz monitor alongside it. I’ll be running Windows 10 on it (and eventually Windows 11 when it becomes stable enough). Below is a list of parts for a PC that I made, if I get suggestions, it could either be a rework of this list or a completely new build all together. List (All prices are in AUD) CPU: Intel i5 10400F ($239) GPU: Nvidia RTX 2060 ($789) Motherboard: Asus Prime B560-Plus LGA 1200 ATX ($200) Memory: 2x8GB Fury 3600MHz ($133) SSD: Crucial 250GB NVME Drive ($54) HDD: Seagate 1TB ($50) PSU: Thermaltake 650W ($75) Case: Not determined yet, something ATX Form Factor

6/14/2022 The dream: I was watching some of Linus's videos on YouTube, when I had a sudden epiphany. A Super Pc that would absolutely crush any other mainstream gaming pc. I new that to make the next big step in gaming would have to be a big step away from the usual gaming PC parts. No, I would need a different approach that would get both myself and my builds noticed. I am talking server parts, hardware that was designed to take massive amounts of data and crunch it at insane speeds. I find that that is the only way to overtake the modern Gaming Pc. Wish me luck. (God I sound like Linus's intros.) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6/14/2022 (continued about an hour later) I have a general idea of how the build will work: I will first have a min board. I was thinking of using a Gigabyte's new MZ31-AR0. I would place very little SSD storage on this board. (more on that Later.) The next think that I would add would be a normal HP motherboard that i would salvage out of an old pc. I would use it as a standard pc, however, it would not be used for any gaming. It would have a high performance internet port in order to quickly transfer data outside the computer. (I will explain further later) Then next motherboard I would have is a GIGABYTE Z590 UD AC LGA 1200 Intel Z590 ATX Motherboard I would use this a backup or otherwise "support" pc to reduce the main motherboard's load, or to be used as a Minecraft server or something. It would also have a hyper fast data card for high speed data transfer. Finally, I would use some server board that was designed for SSD storage. (help me in the comments please) Lastly, as a cherry on top: I would use 3 Nvidia GTX 580s daisy chained to the main Board. Suddenly, I realized that there is no official OS that could run a build like this. To fix this problem, I would either use some sort of custom Lunix or Ubuntu OS, or I could use a VM. I no absolutely nothing about engineering my own OS with Lunix or ubuntu. But I do understand Servers, and server computing with a VM. But there is one final problem: I want there to be a few operations changes. First off, when I go to open a program such as space engineers, when I click to open it, it would send the entirety of the program to the RAM on the main board. I would then play it normally. When I am done, and I close out of the program, it would move it back to LOS or (Long Term Storage.) This would only work for the main board, and the Auxiliary board. It would not work on the independent PC, which would have its own designated storage. To take this a whole step further, I could install a private router to the build. This would increase download and upload speeds, AND it would reduce the amount of ethernet cables exiting the build. I realize now what exactly the EF1 is supposed to do: it is to remove as many bottle necks as possible, to provide as much of a seamless experience as possible. (I am continuing to work on this. No videos Please) -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, as the title states. You have to come up with a build thats under a $100. The peripheral can be new or old upto the creator. - Remember the price is ony for the tower no Keyboards or other stuff. By this challenge, some of you whom are rich in Computer knowlege can help people like me and many others to build a pc.

Hello, i'm building a pc for 550 euros, here's the parts: CPU - Intel i3-7100 Motherboard - MSI B250 PC Memory - Crucial - Ballistix Sport LT 8GB (2 x 4GB) Storage - Hitachi Ultrastar 7K4000 3TB GPU - EVGA - GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB PSU - SeaSonic - 350W 80+ Bronze Case - Deepcool - TESSERACT SW ATX Mid Tower Case I would like to know if that list is any good. So I've spent around £850 on some decent parts including a GTX 1060 6GB and Ryzen 5 1600, for my first ever PC, but I'm a little scared in case something goes wrong and my money is somehow wasted. I generally have a good idea of what I'm doing, and have watched many build videos on YouTube; I'm just concerned that I might mess something up (especially when it comes to the minor things). I'm basically asking if anyone has any tips or advice for a first time builder, that I may not already be aware of? I'm very grateful for all responses. Thank you.

I would like to ask for help about building a pc that is capable of 1080p gaming and crushing the latest and future games maybe. I would like a black and red aesthetic for the build and have a gtx 10 series card inside and I really like the NZXT S340 red case. Thanks for the help.

Hey Guys, I've been looking at getting a new PC for a while and have asked a lot of my gaming friends on thoughts about the current pc build that I'm looking at from PC Specialist in the UK (As I'm from the UK). I'm looking for the following: I'm looking to spend around about 2k (including monitor but excluding keyboard and mouse as I already have those) Looking for a decent build (preferably with pc specialist or any other company that does good pricing in the UK) that can handle game development, gaming and music creation and VFX with the use of apps such as unreal engine, maya 3d, after effects I am also looking for something that would be able to run decent games in high graphics. I usually tend to play games such as Arma or GTA V etc. What do I currently have? I currently have the following laptop: Macbook Pro (15-inch, 2017) Processor 2.9 Ghz Intel Core i7 Memory 16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3 Graphics Radeon Pro 560 4 GB intel HD Graphics 630 1436 MB I use this laptop mostly for notetaking and editing with Premiere as I am looking to enter the world of short film editing but have also stated learning Unreal Engine and have been interested in gaming and VFX for a while but have noticed that when there's big project file sizes that my mac fan starts to whirl like crazy which I'm guessing can't be a good sign. I've included bellow a picture of the specs that I intend to go for should I buy a gaming pc but am obviously open to changes that could better it and keep it under the 2k mark. I have also included the picture for the monitor separately. PC Build Case: PC Specs Power and Cooling: WIFI, OS and extras: Thanks a lot in advance for all your help guys! Tom

So I want to build a new gaming pc, I just need an upgrade from my All in one pc I have now. But my all in one does have a very expensive CPU. So I’m wondering, would there be a way to remove the CPU from my existing motherboard in my All in one and reuse it for my new gaming pc, or am I stuck buying a new CPU?

Linustechtips was the first to mind to re-subscribe to. I absolutely love all the video contents on this channel as well Techquickie Big fan of linus. " Im am on a very tight budget because I have a daughter and and use to work in construction doing framing and roofing but I was recently victim in a vehicle accident as I was bussing to a job on a OC Transpo here in Ottawa, Ontario. from the accident I experienced a right dislocated shoulder because of this Im on a disability long term at age 24... So here are my two options: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/fGLQ6X http://pcpartpicker.com/list/rWkL9W My two primary uses for this PC are as follows I will be streaming from my console using a Elgato HD60s. This requires a CPU intensive PC and an on board integrated graphics card, thus no dedicated GPU. Also right now I do basic video editing and may do basic to moderate levels of editing in the near future. I have a white, black and accented with red setup. I am a novice in this area so the two builds mentioned here are from suggestions from different posters last night. Just wanted to get final opinions from everyone. Thanks in advance!

Ok so let me start off by saying that I am brand new to the PC building world and this is incredibly exciting. Please dont kill me for not knowing much, thats why I'm here! So I will get straight to it then. 1. Budget & Location My budget is not completely set in stone. Lets say we are working somewhere in the range of 500-850 US dollars. Now if that is lower that what I will need in the end, please specify as to why and if it is worth spending that amount right now, or are prices expected to drop if I wait on certain parts. As for the location if you haven't guessed already, its the United States. 2. Aim This system will primarily be used for streaming first person shooters from my Xbox One (and hopefully PS 4 in the near future). Also I would like to do some video editing for my YouTube channel. The editing seems to be working fine on my dual core i5 laptop as of right now, so that isn't a giant issue. I would like to stream in 1080P 60fps. I don't really plan on playing any games directly on my desktop. Someone recommended the i7 6700k and it seemed appealing, any thoughts? 3. Monitors I currently have two BenQ RLHM2455 (I believe) monitors. The resolution on the monitors are 1080P with a 75 refresh rate after some tweaking I believe. At most, I hope to be able to use three monitors for more room to work in the distant future. For now the two I have will suffice. 4. Peripherals I do believe I need an OS. I am not completely sure? Is there a way to get windows 10 for free still? I wasn't really calculating the price of the OS into my budget. Maybe a very cheap keyboard too. 5. Why are you upgrading? The reason why I am upgrading is because my ASUS Zenbook UX303: Intel Core i5-5200U 2.20 GHz with Turbo Boost Technology up to 2.70 GHz, 8 GB DDR3L RAM 256 GB Solid State Drive Storage Intel HD Graphics 5500 with shared graphics memory doesn't seem to be doing a very good job when I try to stream with OBS. If I do an overlay with a webcam and add music there is a lot of dropped frames and lag in the stream. Also I get a message in OBS saying "high CPU usage, consider turning down settings". Side note (probably important) So I decided that I would start capturing my Xbox One with an Elgato device now instead of streaming it to my laptop via the Xbox app. Maybe if I did not stream it to my PC with the app and instead captured the gameplay with an Elgato and just used OBS to stream, it would perform better? Also I just ordered the Elgato HD60 but am considering returning it for the HD60s as I like the virtual 0 latency that one offers. That being the case, the system requirements for the HD60s are much higher than what my laptop has to offer. HOWEVER the system requirements for the HD60 is a second generation i7 2xxx with 4gb RAM. Is that better or worse than what I have? Does anyone have experience with running a similar laptop with an external capture device and OBS? Is it possible to get a good stream like that? Should I just go with the upgrade? How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie roll pop? Find out on the next episode of Dragon Ball Z! Thanks loads for the help guys!
