Hi everyone, I just need some help reducing my ping while playing online games on my laptop. I have really fast wifi at about 150Mbps download and 150Mbps upload. I remember that like a month ago I was getting my normal 20 ping in games. But lately I have been getting over 100ping!!! It quiet annoying and I have no idea what it could be. I have tried, checking for windows update, turning off antivirus, updating drivers, closing/exiting open applications and restarting system. If you guys could give me some help that would be great as I have no idea whats going on. BTW, if you know anything about the Windows Hello(Face ID) not working properly after a windows update. Some help with that would be great too. Budget (including currency): $1200-$2000 max Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Other details I'm trying to build a PC for the first time and i have no idea where to begin. I am an engineering student (i use programs like Matlab, Solid-works, And Ansys and sometimes even at the same time). I plan on PC gaming as well (like the big name titles). Generally I'm running a lot of tabs at a given time. I need it as quiet as possible (the quieter the better) and i need a very large amount of storage (both short term and long term storage). (And some other things i would like to include are as follows: 1) a wired and wireless Ethernet connection 2) audio for speakers and headphones 3) a CD/DVD player (if it could burn CD as well that would be amazing) 4) a lot of usb ports and a way to make sure i can see that everything is running properly after i put it together (like a control center or something) I know that i am being very picky and making my first PC build a challenging one right know i have like $1200 but i have no problem to save up to like $2k if anything. If you could help point me in the right direction it would be very helpful any advise would be helpful (i have 0 past experiences making PCs).

Hello All! I'm currently building a Home Virtualization Server to run a Ubuntu Web Server VM, and Video Surveillance VM. My specs are listed below. While doing some research I came across this video and a lightbulb turned on. You see I have a MacBook and no PC, So if I could pop a GPU in this guy for games and rendering in After Effects I would be so happy! I have heard mixed reviews on ESXi GPU compatibility. Is it feasible to passthrough a AMD RX480 to a Windows 10 VM with minimal performance loss. If not could anyone recommend a card. I don't plan to use a dedicated monitor as this guy will be in a server closet. My plan is to use Steam in home streaming. I know this is a unique config but I figured that I have a ton of compute power sitting idle, why not use it? And yes I know I will lose performance by virtualizing this and using steam in-home streaming, but I am willing to live with up to a 20% performance loss if it means I don't have to build a dedicated PC. Yes I know vSphere is Windows only, I use VirtualBox on my Mac. Is this a option or should I stick with something like Un-RAID. I would prefer to use ESXi as I am somewhat experienced with it. I look forward to what the community has to say! VIDEO. 8 (or is it 10?) So I'm looking at 2 monitors both are 1080p 144hz and 16:9 but that's all they have in common the Samsung CFG70 is a curved 1500r 24 inches ? has a quantum dot VA panel 1ms response time and amd freesync (this is bad I'm getting nvidia because of amd's lack of coverage in the 1080p 144hz area) it also costs $300 the other monitor is the lenovo Y27g 27 inch monitor ?? it's curved with a rating of 1800r it's dosen't have the best VA panel it has g sync it also costs at the moment $480 If you have any monitor suggestions that would be great or could you give your opinion on which monitor is better.

Hello, I have just completed my first budget build. I am a novice content creator and casual gamer. I used to use an old Hp laptop but it did not have the power to play games at 1080p so already being interested in building a pc I decided to build one from scratch for as cheap as possible. specs: CPU: Intel core i3 3220 COOLING: 3x 120mm fans and Intel stock cooler. MOBO: MSI H61M-P20 (G3) (MS-7788) RAM: 16 gb Patriot Memory DDR3 @ 1,596 MHz GPU: geforce gtx 1050 OC to 2ghz PSU: 500w inetegrator psu. CASE: fractal design core 2500 OS: 32-bit Windows 7 (6.1.7600) STORAGE: HDD: generic 1Tb SSD: 100 GB P400m100-MTFDDAK100MAN 118032953 ATA Device I also have a usb 3.0 pcie card because the front io on the case is usb3.0 and my MOBO does not have a usb 3.0 header. The HDD,SSD,MOBO and CPU were taken from a pc that was to be scrapped and the PSU,GPU,RAM and case I bought. The OS was on an old disk that a friend happened to have. It is extremely dodgy and always comes up with missing .dll files. I have a generic 60hrz refresh rate 1080p monitor and a wireless keyboard and mouse with a freebie mouse pad. The total cost of the build was about £160 GBP or around $200 USD. It works well for me and in future I am saving to upgrade my CPU and MOBO (possibly a ryzen 5 1400). Sorry about the stock cooler but i'm saving for a cooler master 212x to reduce sound and thermals. The system scored a respectable 5767 in 3Dmark fire strike and plays most game at over 30fps on high settings. What are your opinions on my build and what do you think I could/should upgrade next?

There are lots of good options out there for a gpu. My prerequisites are needs to play sims 3, fallout 4 w/mods, skyrim w/mods, witcher 3 and minecraft w/mods all at no more than 1080p. I want smooth frame rates and enough vram to push the mods. Ps. Do not recommend a 1060.

Situation: I work information and content that made me want two monitors. My passion involves art(not commercially yet) and gaming(not very competitive but likes 60hz and above along with good response time). The main monitor would be the gaming one but also view most content and good color production is nice to have. The second monitor would be used of course to view additional information but also be used for the art hobby. i need help to narrow down choices and the budget would be $300-$325 USD all together(of course lower price and better product is appreciated). A 32in and above 250 brightness would be holly grail things for me. I just don't want regrets and return stuff back and forth. Please add your options and why you pick it (used is an ify thing for me but may tolerate) Potential Picks: Philips 276E9QDSB 27" Frameless Monitor https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CLMDH3K/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1 Philips 246E9QDSB 24" Frameless Monitor, https://www.amazon.com/Philips-246E9QDSB-Frameless-1920x1080-FreeSync/dp/B07CK4W58Y/ref=as_li_ss_tl?creativeASIN=B07CK4W58Y&imprToken=Yi9WWdz5DuGjqxPxR5Twqw&slotNum=10&&keywords=Philips+246E9QDSB&qid=1561362800&s=gateway&sr=8-2&linkCode=w61&tag=techgearoid-20&linkId=ff976690e0edee42e0f6fc711a91cee2&language=en_US# BenQ GW2280 Eye Care 22 Inch https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KYCSRQI/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1 Sceptre 27" Curved 144Hz Gaming LED Monitor Edge-Less AMD FreeSync DisplayPort HDMI, Metal Black 2019 (C275B-144RN) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07N6ZBCVY/ref=ox_sc_act_title_4?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1

I am looking into upgrading my graphics card. I currently have a GTX 780 and it's on an amd 8350 CPU and Asus motherboard. I am going to upgrade my other components later when I have the money but for now I just want a good gpu for my system that's not gonna break the bank and it must be Nvidia. I am looking to play 1080p games and hope to play all new titles at Max graphics setting. I can sacrifice some AA setting and other small impact on graphics settings but I want the games to look as good as possible. Thanks guys!

I am planning to buy a display for my day to day PC use as well as Gameing. But I am Confused between a 32 inch Full HD Smart Tv and a 24 inch Full HD Monitor. The case is both are 60 HZ so it's nothing to go with 75 or 120 or 144 as they don't come under my budget. But according to my budget a 60hz monitor with 24 inch and a 60hz Tv with 32 inch as well as a smart TV comes. So my question is which is better as both are same features same price but a Tv gives some more good features. A monitor vs Tv which should I buy..

help help with finding a good budget laptop.
TheRBGamer2 posted a topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
I am looking for a good budget laptop and was hoping to get some recommendations. the laptop will be used for gaming but it doesn't need to be a beast, I mostly play indie games but if it could run bf3 or bfh on 60fps on low that would be perfect. it would also be nice if there was a extra slot for a ssd that I have in my desktop. needs to be at least 1080p. Thank you! -

I got a call from a friend earlier this morning and he asked me to build him a gaming computer. I asked what his budget was and his response basically killed me, $500 U.S., I couldn't tell him no because of how close we are. But I was panicking becasue I have no clue how i am going to pull this off. Well he calls me about twenty min later and he says he wants it to be a mini itx computer. I basically said sh!t, he said sorry gotta go. I have been juggling ideas in my head all day about how I could give him what he wants and I have nothing. Does anyone have any ideas or thoughts on how I can make this possible for him. Thanks

Hey guys ive been working on this build for quite a while now for an all purpose rig that will do everything from play new fps and mmos at 60 fps and 1080p. Any and all critiques are welcome! Thanks! (monitor and operating system are already taken care of) http://pcpartpicker.com/p/73s46h

in almost all games I will have a locked 60 fps and all of a sudden it will drop to 30 or even 10 frames per second and immediately returning to sixty causing my game to stutter. This happens about every 10 minutes in metal gear solid v on high setting 1080p. Is this because of the sky lake bug I've been hearing about or is it something else. I have looked in task manager as well and sometimes my disk usage spikes to 100% while everything else is at 40% and 70%
