Hello, 3 days i ago i changed my old motherboard to an msi 760gm-p23 fx. I added my AMD FX 6300 and my RX 550, yeah yeah i know, old stuff, but that's all i can affoard. The problem comes when i start up a game, for example gta 5. When the CPU temp sits up to 67°C, the game goes smoothly. But as soon as the CPU temp goes to 68°C, it automatically goes to 206°C, throttling the performance and making the games run at 16 fps. Worst thing about it is that it does not stop until i reboot. I can close the game, keep my pc on the desktop so it cools down, but if i reopen the game it will still measure 206. This has never been an issue with my old motherboard. Now, of course this is an error in measuring the temperature, otherwise my pc would catch fire. I have searched the internet and apparently this is a common problem with this MoBo, but i can't find any solution. Is there any way to fix this? Please refrain from telling me to buy a new MoBo, i am broke af, i don't have more money to spend on this stuff. I just paid 47 euros for this one wich is what i make in 2 days of work (that's Italy for you)

Quick question. I'm going to be throwing a pc together from my old parts. I just don't know which would be better to pair with the FX 6300. Should i go GTX 970 or RX 570 4GB. Lastly I already own both cards so I'm not buying anything new

I was going to get a laptop for school but I was given one by a family member. So I decided to build myself a desktop gaming computer for some general gaming. I don't game 24/7 and I don't need to play the new triple A games. I like to play minecraft with mods (a lot or not a lot it depends), I like playing modded Skyrim. Things like that, generally not to intense of games, nothing like Ark, Tomb Raider or anything like that. And one of my friends has been building for a while now and had a spare FX -6300 because he had upgraded his to an 8350 a while back. He said since this would be my first build that he would just give me the processor for free so he could help me out. I was wondering should I take it? I know that the AM3+ platform is very very dated but it is a free 80 dollar processor so I could throw the 80 into a better graphics card, SSD or so one. Is this wise? I have a sub 450 dollar budget and I know I could upgrade intel down the line but please I do not want people ranting about AMD sucking because they are AMD I just want to know if an AMD FX-6300 could still be considered good by todays standard. I would be upgrading by the end of 2017 most likely to Zen because I will have a new credit card and will make monthly payments but for now I do not have much. So again is the FX - 6300 good? Will it lag doing general things or ruin my gaming experience? Thanks a lot guys this is my first post so thank you again for all your help!

Hey guys! I have an interesting one for you! Because I'm poor and I want to make a CPU-MoBo upgrade, I will buy a second hand AMD CPU-MoBo kit, because is cheap af. (from an eBay-like site) So, after lots of forums visited, asked the owners about the products, I finished my search and ended up with these 2 options: -Amd 870K + Asus A88X Plus + stock cooler -AMD FX6300 + ASUS M5A97 R2.0 + cooler Zalman cnps8x Now, my question is: should I go with one of those, or should I look for Intel? I want them to "live" @3-4 years, I will use them for gaming, and I was thinking at some OC... Btw, my GPU: Asus R7 370 Strix 4GB my memory: HyperX Beast 1600mhz 2x8GB (don't know if it really helps, but why not?) Thanks! PS: I can't buy only one thing, the owners sell them together...

Hi there, I was just wondering if my fx 6300 would be able to handle the RX 480. Here are some benchmarks.
-
I currently have an FX 6300, overclocked from 3.5ghz > 4.4ghz, 1.31v, on a 212evo. a GTX 660 2gb, and 2x4gb 1866mhz ram. Pcpartpicker. http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/p9fBTH its 4am and I'm terrible at asking complete questions so feel free to mention if I miss something. I get FPS increase all of the games I've tested so far (mafia 3, bf4, rainbow 6 siege) when lowering resolution from 1080p-900p-720p. Even overwatch, which I thought was CPU intensive... so I'm getting the idea this is a GPU thing. so I know getting an rx480 + fx6300 would turn it from a GPU to CPU bottleneck, but it would be a hell of a lot better than a shit crisp cinematic 30fps on medium 720p for mafia 3. could I purchase this RX480 newegg link and realistically expect 1080p@60 on high settings with games like bf1-doom-mafia 3-rainbow 6 siege? I have no interest in 1440p or above, because of my monitor. would I get the same thing from a RX470 because of my CPU?

Helloo folks! I am in need of your expertise in upgrading my current PC. I am planning to use some parts of my current build to the new build. Now, my plan is too add a SSD, replace CPU, motherboard and ram cards. Later on after the bitcoin mining, I am looking to replace the GPU. The reason for upgrading is that my CPU cannot handle the video editing programs. It freezes sometimes, slow or get stuck. Also, I play games on it like CS:GO and PUBG on low settings. Even on low settings, I get FPS drops in both games. Side information: -I am not going to overclock -I have two 60hz monitors (not going 144hz monitors) -Game: I prefer stable FPS than quality -I live in the Netherlands, morelikely going to buy the components at azarty.nl . -My update budget is around €450 euro. Question to you guys, what do you of my plans? What do you think of the components of the upgrade? Any other cheaper components? Got any other recommandation or suggestions? Thanks in advance

So my best friend's current PC is starting to lag behind. He has an FX 6300, 8GB of RAM, GTX 960, and a 1TB hard drive. He's looking for a decent upgrade, strapped for cash, and we thought we found one. A guy was selling a desktop with an i7 4790 for $100... someone bought it. He has more desktops for sale though. Two are the same Core i3 4150, 4GB of RAM, I think like a 500GB hard drive. we were already planning on moving his GPU, ram, power supply, and hard drive over. This computer is also $100. Would it be worth buying that, then upgrading to an i5 or i7 later down the road, or should he just wait longer? Thanks in advance.

Hi, I oc my fx 6300 to 4.7 Ghz (75 C) and now it perfoms worse than my 4.5 Ghz oc y u do dis? I don't believe temp is the issue but I don't know for sure Does Somebody know why?

System specs Fx 6100 ASUS Strix RX 470 8GB of HyperX Ram Asrock 960GM-VGS3 FX So my friend got a 470 about a month ago and when he first used it in games such as rust, he got the same or worse performance than his 750 ti did. He gets 35 fps on the highest settings at 1080p. According to a video he should be getting 60+ fps. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7MZiWr61s3E He is using the latest drivers. He said sometimes the GPu. says 0% usage.

Hi, i recently bought gtx 1060 6gb, before it i had r9 270x. My cpu is amd fx 6300, and 8gb ram. What is the cheapest way to upgrade my pc, so that cpu wont bottleneck my gpu? I was thinking about used i7 4770k, with matherboard for around 165-170USD (150 Euros). Or something else and cheaper?

Hi! A friend of mine is planning on building a new pc in the future and wants to start off by upgrading his graphics card to a GTX 1070Ti, as he could get one for quite cheap right now. His current system consists of a pre-build computer with an FX 6300(yeah, the both of us are aware about there being a bottleneck), 12 gigs of ram, as well as a GTX 750Ti. As his PC was a pre-built one(I think), the power supply he's rocking doesn't look too confidence-aspiring, to put it that way. His power supply is the one included with his LC-Power Pro-925B case, I think(not wanting to mock LC-Power?). As I don't really know too much about power supplies, though, I thought I might ask you guys... According to "outervision.com", a 400 watt power supply should be sufficient. Not only does that no quite seem to be enough to me to be comfortable, if I'm being honest, but also - especially given that this is the "start" of his new system - I'd like there to be some headroom for new, potentially more powerful/power-hungry hardware for him. Could you recommend a PSU for him? Also, efficiency ratings are "a thing", are they? ?? Thanks in advance!

So I've done some research and all I can find is that cpu clock speed dropping under load is caused usually by overheating. I have a FX 6300 (yes I need an upgrade lol) oc to 4.2 GHz with the reference at 200. It's still fairly stable at 4.5, but 4.2 seems to be the best. Idle temp is usually 20c and under load it barely breaks 40. But for some reason the clock speed alters between 3.0 and 4.2 under 100% load using prime95. Variations are seen during gaming as well, causing severe fps drops. Any ideas on the culprit?

I'm a bit confused about the temps shown in HWiNFO and HWMonitor. The CPU temps are fine but when i was trying other oc settings the motherboard temp would go much higher. Is that normal and is there anyway I can cool it?

i am planning to upgrade my pc, but the benchmarks i have run have shown mixed results. i mostly play FPS like Fallout and Far Cry. i usually get around 70-80% gpu usage and 70-80% cpu usage.my specs:fx 6300gtx 670 2gb16gb ddr3 1600MHzGigabyte 970A-UD3P Motherboard 550w evga 80+ psu2 x 1tb hddwindows 10 64 bitfor an upgrade i plan, for CPU bottleneck, upgrade to an i5 8400 with 8gb ram, or GPU bottleneck, a gtx 1060 3/6gb.

Hummm I have 3 PC Setup At Home, 1 for me that I can run what ever I want in max setting and 2 others with more "low end" in mind like playing minecraft with 2 of my friend but some thing seams weard, I have 1 of the 2 low end equip with: FX8350 8 core Radeon R9 380 24Go de ram(to off load rendering over night on this pc and be able to render 2 thing same time even if it doesn't have the best GPU) as you can see in the first photo even with just minecraft open, My GPU Filker between 90% and 0% amd that cause lot of lag spikes and over all I have between 50 and 100 fps with everything at minimum as exemple, This is my more Low end PC FX 6300 Six Core Radeon R9 270X 8G of ram this pc get only 5Go of ram allocated to minecraft and the first one has 10Go of ram allocated because of less overall ram This pc get around 200-300 fps same setting same version of windows, both with all driver up to date, (see second picture for representation of usage) this one get way better result(more like expected) but with less powerfull parts? where could the probleme be?

I feel like my FX 6300 has always performed worse than it should, but could never find a reason. Today while rendering a video I noticed that the power usage in CPUID HWMonitor was well under the advertised max power draw of the CPU, screenshot below. Is this normal or is there something wrong with my PC? FX 6300 at 4.0ghz on ASUS M5A97 R2.0 motherboard.

So my friend's upgrading his computer's FX 6300 and R7 260 rig, and he's already getting an RX 480. He's looking for a CPU to replace his 6300. What would you guys recommend? It should be socket-compatible so he doesn't have to get all new hardware. I'm asking because I'm not familiar with AMD's products, being a Blue/Green team player myself.

I'd like to upgrade my PC, but I don't know whether to upgrade my CPU or graphics card. I currently have an FX 6300 CPU, which I recently overclocked, and an HD 7950 graphics card. I'm leaning towards the graphics card right now because I bought my current one used over a year ago and think it might be causing a few glitches, but it's nothing major. I mostly use my PC for 1080p gaming.

Hello LTT Community! Today I request help from you! I have been having numerous issues with Treyarch's Call of Dufy Black Ops 3. It also only seems to happen when I set the program's priority to anything above low. I even tried setting it's affinity to four of my six cores, to no avail. I even tried to remove my overclock, so instead of 4.0ghz or 3.8ghz, it would be running at stock speed (3.5ghz). So my question is: Is this a hardware problem or bad optimization? Without high priority, I can only run the game at 720p low-med settings while getting 60fps, but if I do High with all or 4 cores, I can do 900p (my monitor's native resolution [don't judge]) with med-high settings while getting 60fps. This is extremely annoying, so if anyone can help, please do. ---- RIG DETAILS: CPU: AMD FX 6300 @ 4.0 / 3.8 / 3.5 Ghz GPU: EVGA GTX 750 Ti FTW oc'd by 100mhz MOBO: Asus Motherboard M5A78L-M/USB3 RAM: 1x 8gb Crucial Balistix SPORT PSU: EVGA 600w Bronze EXTRA: Generic DVD Drive, Generic Card Reader, Dell ST 2010 Monitor using HDMI
