So I want to make PC Build that is dedicated to being a server, most of the time, modded minecraft And what helps the decision is that there aren't any hosting providers that is close to our area (Saudi Arabia) that can give us under 100 ping, not terrible but not that great either Here's the build I came up with: PCPartPicker Part List CPU: Intel Core i3-9100F 3.6 GHz Quad-Core Processor ($78.00 @ B&H) Motherboard: Gigabyte B365M DS3H Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($74.99 @ B&H) Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws Series 16 GB (4 x 4 GB) DDR4-2666 Memory ($86.99 @ Newegg) Storage: HP EX900 120 GB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive ($34.99 @ Monoprice) Power Supply: EVGA 500 W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply ($40.98 @ Newegg) Total: $315.95 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2020-04-01 20:03 EDT-0400 My goal: making it cheaper if possible I looked up the best single core performance CPU from here, and then picked up the best from the cheapest I thought about taking a ryzen instead, while its a bit slower and pricier, the mobo will be significantly cheaper (~$40/30) but I retained from that since it's slower and does need higher clocked RAM to get the most out of it Also, I will be running MC Eternal modpack (~300 mods), and my upload speed is around 8MB/s, Wish should cut it We are around 3-4, maybe sometimes up to 8 but mostly 3 or 4 Should this build cut it for exploring and building machines without lag/low TPS? I also got that I didn't need any cooler for the build, is this correct? because it weirded me out (I originally added 212 Evo cooler) the only thing that im not sure about is the quad channel memory, as I might want it to be 32GB in the future (to open more servers on the same machine), as I've heard quad channel might help the performance, specially in minecraft I will be running like 1 Modpack and maybe 2 Vanillas (Maybbe If I'm about that life I might open another modpack at the same time, but probably a lighter version) Also I could use it for other stuff such as storing, so its somewhat worth the investment Note: I want to build my own because I like having fun with computers and servers And im pretty sure I made poor choices or forgot something from an aspect of the build/minecraft server, any help would be appercaited! thanks

I have been playing java minecraft for several years and it is still my favorite game. If anyone is interested in joining my server shoot me a private message and I will tell you how to access my server. I have a ftb infinity server and several vanilla servers.

I would like to run a dedicated minecraft FTB server on my seperate PC, which is currently running Ubuntu 16.04, but I am having trouble on how to handle it, since I am still new to the OS. What I'm asking for, is help and guidance on how to run the file that launches the server on Ubuntu, since it is very different from Windows. Thanks! -Crafting

Okay, well i'm having a lot of issues with my server currently. I know it is a working server as it worked on my main PC, but now that I have transfered it to a dedicated system, it keeps crashing with the same error: "Exception Ticking World" I have submitted the crash report, but I don't know whats actually causing it. Maybe the HDD speed? The system is an FX-6300 and R9 290 on a WD 750GB HDD crash-2017-09-06_12.19.41-server.txt

Im playing on an modded minecraft server with an modpack called FTB sky odyssey or soemthing like that. Its an skyblock server, with almost no blocks around me so u might think it will run good on my pc. But no. I get HUGE lag spikes and my pc can barely keep an solid 60fps with low settings. I can usually run vanilla minecraft at highest settings with solid 60fps, and sometimes even with ultra shaders. Well back to the problem, i can randomly get HUGE lag spikes whenever im doing stuff, and it usually runs at 50fps. I have around 6gb ram allocated to minecraft and it barely uses 3gb ram while playing, and it doesnt max out anything in task manager. So i wanna whats causing these lag spikes and if there are any fix. PC SPECS: Ryzen 3 2200g (stock) a320m-hdv r3.0 8gb ram (stock) XFX rs rx480 4gb (stock) As you can see my pc should be able to run almost any new games (may have to lower settings in some games) without any problem. And heres an screenshot of my fps drops. Ive also noticed that when these fps drops happen are the "tick" at almost 100% on the debug pie. while not having fps drops, are the "tick" and "game render" sharing the pie with like 50-50 each.

Budget (including currency): Not really an issue. I guess no more than $600 USD (happy using previously loved ((used)) parts) Country: United States of Freedom (USA) Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: FTB Direwolf20 Minecraft Server Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I currently am using an old Dell rack mounted server, but the CPU's are NOT up to snuff. Constant rubber-banding. Bandwidth is not an issue 1Gb down, 50Mb up. I would like to have one that can run the server buttery-smooth with the numerous mods and hold maybe no more than 10 ppl on a normal day. (Maybe 20) Let me know if I am missing any info. Thanks in advance! PS: Doesn't HAVE to be rack mounted, just prefer it that way. Even if I need to get a server case. I like the clean look. #shotonandroid

Greetings! Does anyone here play Minecraft Feed the beast? Website: https://www.feed-the-beast.com/ I wanted to play one of the modpacks, but when I try to start the launcher the Console fills with red text (something about "the element HR needs to be ended with </Hr>) so no problem I thought, I can just re-download the launcher, but the thing that downloads is "TwitchSetup_[plugin-minecraft].exe" did Feed the beast move over to some kind of Twitch partnership based launcher? I REALLY do not want to install this, I did some poking and it looks like they said they would be moving to the Curse App, and then Twitch bought Curse, is this the only way? I predict I would have to do all kinds BS like sign in with a Twitch account, did they terminate the old launcher? if anyone knows what's going on any information would be appreciated!

I believe I have everything with the server files sorted but im now mainly having issues port forwarding. https://gyazo.com/3762680dc4d7cd2296a0c791177bf08a (the x's are of course the rest of my ipv4 ) These are the options I have and that is what I have filled out. In the server config files I have the port set of course. With the ip some people say leave it blank and other say put in my public ip. Please let me know which is right and if im missing anything with the port forwarding. thanks!

Hey, setting up a Crash Landing 1_1_3 Feed the beast server on minecraft 1.7.10 and just encountered an issue. I suspect this is something to do with the new eula.txt? I don't have a eula.txt as far as I know, nowhere to be seen. I get the following when I run the ServerStart.bat file in CMD Java HotSpot 64-Bit Server VM warning: ignoring option PermSize=128m; support was removed in 8.0 Dec 31, 2015 4:57:43 PM net.minecraft.launchwrapper.LogWrapper log INFO: Loading tweak class name cpw.mods.fml.common.launcher.FMLServerTweaker Dec 31, 2015 4:57:43 PM net.minecraft.launchwrapper.LogWrapper log INFO: Using primary tweak class name cpw.mods.fml.common.launcher.FMLServerTweaker Dec 31, 2015 4:57:43 PM net.minecraft.launchwrapper.LogWrapper log INFO: Calling tweak class cpw.mods.fml.common.launcher.FMLServerTweaker 2015-12-31 16:57:43 [iNFO] [ForgeModLoader] Forge Mod Loader version 6.4.49.965 for Minecraft 1.6.4 loading 2015-12-31 16:57:43 [iNFO] [ForgeModLoader] Java is Java HotSpot 64-Bit Server VM, version 1.8.0_66, running on Windows 10:amd64:10.0, installed at C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_66 2015-12-31 16:57:43 [WARNING] [ForgeModLoader] The coremod net.minecraftforge.lex.sortfix.CorePlugin does not have a MCVersion annotation, it may cause issues with this version of Minecraft 2015-12-31 16:57:43 [WARNING] [ForgeModLoader] The coremod codechicken.core.launch.DepLoader does not have a MCVersion annotation, it may cause issues with this version of Minecraft 2015-12-31 16:57:43 [WARNING] [ForgeModLoader] The coremod appeng.transformer.AppEngCore does not have a MCVersion annotation, it may cause issues with this version of Minecraft 2015-12-31 16:57:43 [iNFO] [ForgeModLoader] [AppEng] Core Init 2015-12-31 16:57:43 [WARNING] [ForgeModLoader] The coremod codechicken.core.launch.CodeChickenCorePlugin does not have a MCVersion annotation, it may cause issues with this version of Minecraft 2015-12-31 16:57:43 [WARNING] [ForgeModLoader] The coremod cofh.asm.LoadingPlugin does not have a MCVersion annotation, it may cause issues with this version of Minecraft 2015-12-31 16:57:43 [WARNING] [ForgeModLoader] The coremod codechicken.nei.asm.NEICorePlugin does not have a MCVersion annotation, it may cause issues with this version of Minecraft 2015-12-31 16:57:43 [WARNING] [ForgeModLoader] The coremod openblocks.OpenBlocksCorePlugin does not have a MCVersion annotation, it may cause issues with this version of Minecraft 2015-12-31 16:57:43 [WARNING] [ForgeModLoader] The coremod openmods.OpenModsCorePlugin does not have a MCVersion annotation, it may cause issues with this version of Minecraft 2015-12-31 16:57:43 [WARNING] [ForgeModLoader] The coremod squeek.spiceoflife.asm.ASMPlugin does not have a MCVersion annotation, it may cause issues with this version of Minecraft 2015-12-31 16:57:43 [WARNING] [ForgeModLoader] The coremod tconstruct.preloader.TConstructLoaderContainer does not have a MCVersion annotation, it may cause issues with this version of Minecraft 2015-12-31 16:57:43 [iNFO] [TCon-Preloader] Scalpel. So i am wanting to build a rig to host a 10 player FTB minecraft world. I have no experience in this area, Ive only ever done gaming rigs, so i have no idea were to start. I would also like to use as a NAS as well, also no clue. My would like it to be very small, quiet and inexpensive. Ive heard that SSDs make minecraft chunks load fast. If that's true some kinda raid or cashing setup would be amazing. As for the NAS part of the build, it would be more less just for swapping files in between multiple computers. I'm not all that worried about losing data. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. All hardware, software including an OS suggestions will help a lot. I really have only done gaming builds before, so I haven't got a clue. Thanks.

we have just started a new server with my friends and myself and i’m looking to get a few more people to play on it. we are running on the server FTB direwold20 pack (latest version) Requirements: 16 and over able to talk on TeamSpeak play regularly have a decent ping to NZ (sorry european players) I will give preference to Aus and NZ players because the server is being hosted in NZ Rules: Absolutely no Griefing No exploits No asking for OP Have fun Slots: I would like to keep it to 10-15 people Ram: 3Gb Cores: 3 No banned items so far but that could change if someone abuses it(ex. Mining laser, TNT). Please no x-ray vision mods. I don't mind maps that show cave systems but would prefer nothing else. Server is still being worked on occasionally but nothing major The minecraft difficultly level is currently set at 1 but that can change if enough people would like it more difficult. It was only set there because it's the default and so far there are only about 2-4 people that play on it and most are never on all at once. Feel free to ask me any questions as I might have forgotten to mention something. Thanks, icey apply for whitelist by replying to this thread or PM me with: Age: Countrey: IGN:

So I've started a feed the beast ultimate server and I'm having issues really banning items. I have tekkit customizer which works somewhat, but still allows players to have banned items in their inventories until they use the items. I'm just looking for either a way to remove items from even being crafted or a plugin that can work better against the crafting of non-vanilla blocks. I have posted this on actual minecraft forums, but they are jerks and don't give straight answers. Thanks

Is there an official Linus FTB (feed the beast) server running? And just in case you are wondering what the hell is FTB, it is minecraft with about 200+ mods that expand on what you can do. E.g. you can create a nuclear reactor that may meltdown and destroy everything in its radius, you can craft quantum armor or even create an industrial craft town. The game becomes as complex as one wants it to be. Direwolf20 makes nice guides and reviews for most current mods.
