Hi! I'm having some weird issues with frametime spikes creating judder in some games. Using X-Plane 11 as an example (although this has been observed in other demanding games). When my gpu usage is nearing 99% i notice the frametime becomes very erratic and spiking at a very short near-regular interval. This causes the feeling of stutter even at higher fps. This is forcing me to decrease all my settings until i'm able to consistently achieve 60fps and lock it using rtss or lock it to 30 fps, anything else creates those stutters. I've searched the entire internet for what is causing this. I tested every possible combination of vsync and gsync but i'm at a loss. I have a new GPU coming in a few days and i hope that'll fix it but in case it doesn't, i need to find out what is doing this. I recently upgraded from an i7 10700K to a 5800X3D and am noticing a lot of stuttering paired with my RX 7900 XT. I have finally narrowed it down to being Freesync. Another thing I found is if I play a youtube video on my second monitor OR record my gameplay locally the stuttering is lessened quite a bit. Here I will link videos I recorded with my phone showing the stutter that occurs with Freesync and the smoothness that occurs without it: Stutter No stutter In troubleshooting i have: Used DDU to reinstall GPU drivers Installed and reinstalled chipset drivers Updated BIOS Lower RAM speed Tried running everything at stock (I do run my RAM in DOCP at 3000MHz and my GPU is overclocked) closed background apps lowered GPU clock to heavily limit power consumption Changed color depth to different values as suggested on other posts i found tried borderless, fullscreen, and with/without vsync

Hello, making this thread to find some people smarter than me that can solve this issue for me. Here's the barebones issue. Frametime Spikes. I'm not new to computers so I'll try to explain this as intelligently as possible. I also dealt with this issue on a Gaming Desktop I build so I'm not new to this issue. This is a brand new gaming laptop SPECS: G733PZ Asus Rog Strix SCAR17 LAPTOP OS: WIN11 CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX with Radeon Graphics, 2501 Mhz, 16 Core(s), 32 Logical Processor(s) GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 Laptop GPU GDDR6 @ 12GB (192 bits) RAM: Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 32.0 GB https://drive.google.com/file/d/1kgSdVlPjeBoNqJKoUjBFy8N5IjbJLXjK/view?usp=share_link https://drive.google.com/file/d/1EXRD3Pt-QWzhrtD9FDSYlIjG2rWr_hbT/view?usp=share_link https://drive.google.com/file/d/18jKCa8XQAZI0-TSQi6BJeFY1QvdzIDMg/view?usp=share_link Here are some examples. Note, the stuttering is not huge, it can be quite minute at times, while at other quite noticeable. I can run anymore tests if needed. What seems to be happening is I'm getting a spike in Frametime which is then causing a stutter but there's not a huge drop in FPS, which is what's a little confusing, I have tried all I know, I don't know what else it could be. Are there any suggestions for this? Things I've tried: Resetting Laptop and launching the game off a clean wipe. Messing with all Nvidia Control Panel settings. Capping framerate with Nvidia and RTSS. Messing with in game settings, disabling and enabling DLSS, VSYNC, GSYNC Etc. Adjusting fan speeds to keep components cooler. Unplugging anything USB. Running through multiple benchmarks to make sure temps of components are good. Updating BIOS. Clean Driver Install. Older Version of Driver installed using DDU. Different settings in ArmoryCrate, Performance/Turbo. In the picture that is attached, I have RDR2 Capped at 70 FPS using RTSS, so that keeps the frames stable, yet I still get these frametime spikes which will cause these small stutters. Any suggestions welcome. This is a 3k Laptop so I feel like it shouldn't be doing this.

i built my pc a year ago now and earlier this month i finally got around to upgrading my RAM- i went from 16gb to 32gb. i did this partially to prevent frame dropping/stuttering in a particular game. as far as i've noticed, performance has generally improved- except in that particular game, the stuttering has actually gotten worse, to the point where it's rarely even playable (it's a rhythm game so timing is a huge deal). after getting a bit of help from r/pcmasterrace, i have enabled xmp (which only helped a small bit) and i have utilized MSI afterburner to get a better idea of what the issue is- and i found that the frametime stuttering seems to coincide with strange behavior in the graphs for most of my cpu clocks, as shown in the attached images. the first screenshot is what the activity normally looks like, and the second screenshot shows what happens when the frames stutter. the region that looks sorta like a chunk has been cut out is the same region where the frametime stuttered. i imagine this is an issue of RAM timing or something like that, but i really don't know what else to make of this. anyone know what to do? i'd really like to play my game without worrying about stuttering again. old ram: team t-force vulcan z 16gb, DDR4 3200, CL 19, model TLZGD416G3200HC16CDC01 new ram: kingston fury beast 32gb, DDR4 3200, CL 16, model RFBB14-32C16K2/32 P.S.- this pc is also my first build so i'm not an expert, but i know a decent amount.

Please help. This is my first PC, and since I built it on Christmas (25th December), I’ve had nonstop issues, and it’s very discouraging :(. Even in the games that are extremely easy to run (Minecraft and Overwatch), and my PC should handle absolutely fine, I get massive frametime spikes, that come with noticeable stutters, and sometimes cause the game to freeze for over a second. I reinstalled windows thinking it would fix the issue, but it didn’t. Now my COD warzone, that used to run fine, will crash whenever I try to change the resolution from 720p to 1080p. I don’t know what is wrong, but it is really exhausting to try to troubleshoot without having PC parts that you can swap out to check for faulty ones. Please help :(. Temps don’t seem to be concerning, so I doubt it has to do with thermal throttling. https://drive.google.com/file/d/183B5N4eOqK-9IRRTfrJFD9itn2XW0hje/view?usp=sharing Minecraft is even worse, with a very unstable time graph, and constant spikes, with very stuttery gameplay. My PC should be able to handle these easier games just fine, but I don’t know why it doesn’t. Specs: Gigabyte GTX 1650 OC Ryzen 5 2600x Corsair Vengeance 16gb 3200Mhz. Tomahawk b450 MAX Seagate Barracuda 2tb 7200RPM HDD Corsair CV650 Windows 10 x64 MSI Forge 100r PS. As far as I know, my GPU drivers are up to date.

Recently playing through the campaign of Cold War I have experienced periodic stutter. It is not at a level which overall affects my ability to play the game, however it is frustrating that ever 3 or so seconds my game has a millisecond stutter because sometimes it throws your aim off. My components are not being maxed out at all, my framerate is capped at 141fps and my framerate rarely drops below this, hitting at its lowest around 138. However my frametime is extremely unstable as seen in the attached image. I have tested all my components several times before for issues with other games (severe freezing in Far Cry 1, constant stuttering in the Witcher 1 (however I have found this to be a result of a single core maxing out), however most games play relatively well; the Battlefield 2042 Beta barely had any stuttering on my system outside of framerate issues identified community wide), however all of my components seem to be error free and healthy. Any ideas or knowledge would be appreciated, thanks. NOTE: The top reading is my framerate, the bottom is frametime

Hi everyone, this is my first time writting here, and I hope you can hel me with my problem! Since some months ago, i can't get the 100% with my pc: CPU: intel i9-9900 (non k) GPU: nvidia 3080 asus ROG strix OC version RAM: 32gb 3600mhz MOBO: asus ROG strix z-390 PSU: corsair 850w Playing some games like Call of Duty MW, Battlefield V, DOOM eternal I see my framerate is "capped" to 130-132 fps. I cannot get more than 130fps, if I enable RTX, DLSS, put lower resolution... always the same framerate... The gpu usage doesn't get the 100%, but I see in DOOM stats that my CPU frametime is higher than desirable. I reinstalled gpu drivers several times, Windows too. I don't know what can be the solution. I replaced the CPU, update the mobo, before i had the same problem with a 2080ti and two 1660 super... Thank you all

Hey, I own an Asus Zephyrus G14, and its not the best specifications, but I’m finding it really difficult to game even for 1080@60fps. All the games i play report more than 60fps in general and i even checked frame times using msi afterburner, they aren’t exactly stable but they move around 13 to 17 ms at 60. My gaming experience has been really struggling and id love to play games in a smooth way, im not really sure if “smooth” is the word but all games feel cluttered, stuttering for eg. Standing still looks good but moving around, aiming down sights , aiming at someone it all feels really bad. Exact Specs: Ryzen 7 4800HS GTX 1650Ti Games with this issue: COD: Games report 60 fps, but stunning and shooting feels clunky, fps drops to 30 and doest go back up till I unplug the power cord and replug it back in Fortnite: frames drop a lot, highest frames being around 100, and lowest at 20 sometimes Battlefield 2042: same problems as COD Valorant: Game doesn’t feel quite “120” Apex: Same as COD I’ve tried changing my refresh rate to 60, the change is very minimal Ive looked at frametimes, they are ok Lowered settings, updating every single driver everything, removed bloatware etc Can someone help me out pls? I really wanna enjoy my games. Reply if any more info is needed Thanks

stuttering Help! New GPU has very incositant frametimes.
Terminasitor posted a topic in Graphics Cards
Hi everyone, So I just upgraded from a GTX1070 to an RX6800, but so far it does not seem like an upgrade at all... I'm getting significantly better framerates at all the games I play(as expected), but the frametimes are significantly worse (specifically more inconstant), resulting in a very stuttery experience I have tried ddu many times but the problem persists. I have also double checked that my ram has xmp on and I have tried running the games both from an HDD and an nvme ssd... no difference. Below I have attached a screenshot of the frametime graph in DOOM ETERNAL, that although it runs at above 200fps at ultra settings in native 1440p, it felt like a stuttery mess... My computer specs are: CPU: AMD R7 5800X RAM: 32GB of DDR4 3733MHz (4x8GB sticks) MOTHERBOARD: MSI B450 Tomahawk Max II GPU: AMD RX 6800 STORAGE: 3HDDs and 1 nvme SSD(KINGSTON SA2000M8500G) PSU: Cooler Master G750M (750watts 80+bronze) *I also have resizable bar enabled and I have set my F-clock at 1867MHz(half the ram clock). My gpu runs at gen3 speeds because I have a b450 mb. -
Hey guys! I have tried some troubleshooting myself, and am to the point I think I know the problem. My only concern is that if I am right, I have to buy a new cpu and motherboard, which I do not wish to do if I can find any other way to fix my problem. Anyways My rig consists of an intel I7-6700 nonK, Samsung 860 evo ssd, 16gb 2333 ram, amd 5700 (non reference card), with an Asus hero mobo. I am having trouble with getting a smooth gameplay, especially with first person shooters. I really think it is something to do with the CPU, however I am unsure. I will get decent frame rates (above 60) and then go to turn and shoot someone and have frame drops/freezing. I can't tell exactly what the problem is, I just know that it is enough to make me not play on my PC, as I can't manage to have a smooth gameplay. I have tried turning down the settings and it does not seem to help. Stress tests for the gpu run fine, and this leads me to believe that my cpu is either just underpowered for my GPU, or that there is something wrong with it. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

EVERY SINGLE games I have a massive Frametime issue. My Frametime is very inconsistent causing massive lag / stutters ! Framerate is good, CPU ain't pegged at 100% but it is running at full speed 3.5 Ghz on all Cores no OC It will turbo boost sometimes but not always of course. Every single game is the same, I've tried many solutions so far no fix. I don't know what's the cause. My Framerate most the time are good over 100 - 180 FPS in Doom @ 1440p. But Frametime was horrible, ranging from 30 - 90ms randomly. Sometimes I will just have few second of massive FPS dips....of course it be laggy then. GPU isn't even overheating...GPU Usage seems to be still on 90% - 100% ++ My RAM is at STOCK as well. I'm using Windows 10 64-BIT, I didn't " Daisy Chain " the PSU cable for the GPU either. I had it split by having 2X PCIE cable from PSU to my GPU both individually independently just in case there isn't enough power. These are the solutions I've tried...but no fix 1) Disabled Free Sync 2) Re-roll from 17.8.2 Driver to 17.81 ( But it fixed the video / flash video issue lagging / mouse stutter issue ) 3) Change monitor Refresh Rate to 60hz 4) Disabled Windows Defender, Malware Bytes etc. 5) Disabled / Uninstall all monitoring programs. 6) Tried flipping the BIOS switch on GPU to the other BIOS. 7) Tried playing Fullscreen / Windowed 8) Tried using V-SYNC So far nothing is working...I wonder is this a hardware issue / software.... I worry it maybe my CPU or Mobo or whatever, even RAM maybe ?? I do have my old Fury from my previous PC, maybe I have to test it on this new PC....

So I've just recently built my PC here are the specs. Gigabyte X370 Gaming 5 AMD RyZen 1700X @ Stock G.Skill Trident-Z 3000mhz CL16 @ Stock Corsair HX1000 Gigabyte VEGA 64 Liquid Edition @ Stock Windows 10-64BIT Home Drivers used 17.8.1 / 17.8.2 / 17.5.2 Ok the issue I'm facing is simple, Inconsistent and High Frametime but it happens randomly, at times the game may not be affected by it, while sometimes the moment I launch the game and while playing every few second my Frametime will spike up to least 50 - 100ms while maintaining a good Framerate. My CPU is all at max possible Clocks no drops. But I do notice sometimes the GPU Usage does drop to 0%. Most the games only happen at random and sometimes it wouldn't happen at all. For example I could play Doom for hours without issues, or it will just randomly spikes for a few seconds....causing massive lag...then back to normal as if nothing happened. I've check multiple times CPU Usage isn't at 100% ( Sometimes I caught that One of the Cores are, but not all ) Or sometimes the moment I launch Doom, while in game ( Not Menu, so far Menu never have issues it's always smooth for all games ) I be plagued by the issue and in Doom it's like it has a pattern, every 3 seconds or so it will spike really high then drop back down. But these two games it's guarantee to happen. Titanfall 2 and Killing Floor 2. Logically you would try swapping out the GPU which I did, I tried using my Fury from my previous system ( which play any games flawlessly ) same exact thing happened when I'm using VEGA 64 Liquid and I even tried older Driver 17.5.2 on the new system with my Fury which my previous system uses with my Fury. No fix. So these are ALL the solutions I've tried and so far no fix. Basically almost everything you can think of. 1) Rebuilt the entire system again from ground up. 2) Re-install Windows 10 ( So same for my Mobo's Chipset and Drivers etc ) 3) Disabled all Anti-Virus, Windows Defender etc 3) Check HDD / SSD Health and Benchmark it with Disk Mark / Disk Info 4) Ran stress test ( No random shut down so far at least ) 5) Ran benchmarks to check scores all passed and within the proper scores for both GPU and CPU 6) Check Voltages on PSU with AIDA64 no randomly Voltages drop ( Didn't stress it for overnight, dare not ) 7) Reset BIOS 8) Try switching PCIE lanes ( For both Fury and VEGA 64 ) 9) Disable Free Sync 10) Change Monitor Refresh rate to 60hz 11) Tried playing games with V-SYNC 12) Try changing D.P / HDMI cable. 13) Disabled Audio control panels ( Realtek / Sound Blaster ) 14) I didn't Daisy Chain my PSU 8P connector to my VEGA 64 for I heard it will not be enough power 15) Disk Defrag 16) Change RAM slots 17) Try playing with Single RAM ( interchange both sticks to make sure ) 18) Before you ask, no my PC isn't overheating.... EDIT : 19) Changed Power Plan to max ( RyZen Power Plan ) 20) Updated to latest BIOS F6 ( F7 is giving issues for Gaming 5 boards, avoid it ) For now I'm waiting two things to try. I would try to change my RAM and HDD to see if it solves the problem. But I got a feeling in my gut that, it could be my Mobo giving me problems ?? The last I can think of is CPU.... CPU and Mobo is something really hard to come by, who the hell will have a spare one lying around especially a RyZen and X370 or even B350 Mobo.... So what you guys think, is it POSSIBLE that the Mobo could be t he culprit ?? It feels like my GPU is having hard time playing catch up or it's being delay thus the high and spiking Frametime. Since I've done MULTIPLE Cinebench test for my CPU scores are good....I've even check Voltage for my CPU they are constant as well. But I can't see my GPU for VEGA 64 ( Sadly I've forgotten to check my Fury as well ) So what's everyone's opinion ?? Could it even be the PSU...?? That be weird...

Hi, i have i5 8500, strix vega 64, 16GB (8x2) DDR4 @2666mhz and freesync monitor 40-75 im currently playing total war three kingdoms and planet coaster, as you can see from the attached im having terrible frametime fluctuations on almowt steady frame rate within freesync range which causes games to bece sluggish? all drivers are upto date, no overheating.. no seeing this on FPS games like BO4 and The Division 2. is this normal in simulation and strategy games?

MOBO Gigabyte B450 Aorus Elite GPU Zotac Geforce RTX 2070 AMP EXTREME EDITION 8GB CPU AMD Ryzen 5 2600 RAM Team Group Vulcan T-Force 16GB 3000MHz PSU Kolink 600W 80 Plus Bronze SSD Samsung 250GB 860 EVO HDD Seagate BarraCuda 2TB MONITOR AOC E2460SH (1080p@60hz)Yes. my PC is overkill to the max for this monitor but i will be upgrading to a 1440p 144hz Monitor (See below).(Things I've done - windows performance mode on, all gaming bloatware on windows disabled, clear standby memory every 5 minutes, NVIDIA Performance power management mode, no overclocks)So basically i configured and bought a brand new £1k custom-built gaming PC which is AMAZING (compared to my 10 year old PC).However, it has given me problems when gaming only... everything else seems to be smooth and work perfectly fine. Basically games stutter on my PC at high fps which includes but is not limited to: Shadow of the Tomb Raider (both DX11/DX12), Battlefield 1 (both DX11/DX12), Metro Exodus (both DX11/DX12), CSGO, Dying light and Call of duty Modern Warfare. Somehow GTA V and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 do not stutter at all, it is "buttery" smooth. Now I know that the cause of my frametime spikes are fps drops (when frames drop e.g. -20/30/50fps frametime spike occurs). One common solution is to cap the fps using an in-game frame rate limiter or RTSS. However, doing so does not help... fps drops still occur even at low caps (e.g. 90fps). VSYNC seems to remove all stutters however as my monitor has a refresh rate of 60hz this really isn't a solution with the massive 16.67ms input lag... now this leads to my question. Will upgrading to a Gsync (1440p) 144Hz monitor solve my frametime spike issues (caused by fps drops) or just make them more clear to the eye. Since using vsync at 60hz solved my issues... surely vsync at 144Hz will too, given i can keep that framerate up or enable gsync? Either way I'm looking to upgrade to the Dell S2716DG (1440p 144Hz) soon unless another monitor pops up for a great price.Edit 1I used afterburner to monitor my hardware while playing one game of CSGO Deathmatch with an uncapped framerate. I tested CSGO because it should be the LEAST likely game to cause issues on my PC.It shows that the max CPU usage is on CPU1 92% and max GPU usage 54%Sure I can cap my framerate (at 120/180fps to lower cpu usage), however, like i stated above that stutters still occur (maybe to a lesser extent not too sure). Also it should be noted that CSGO (>fps) stutters the most and shadow of the tombraider/dyinglight (CSGO < fps) etc the least. What i dont understand is how GTA V does not stutter at all... its one of the most demanding games i've played, far more demanding than CSGO!https://imgur.com/cozZDsJhttps://imgur.com/PtnDJZVhttps://imgur.com/HUfw2mAI'd really appreciate if anyone can help me on this issue or has had similar experience in the past

i use 2 USB adapters and i get microstutters in online games with both, offline games work fine (as long as they are optimized of course). would i fix the microstutters if i got a PCIE adapter? i have no way of getting a cable to test if it's the adapter unfortunately. i'm loosing my mind over this because i bought this PC like 3 months ago and i have this problem since... the first adapter (a newer one which i bought with my PC) is Netis WF2190 and the second one is TP-LINK TL WN722N super old and it's latest driver is only for W8.1 and is from 2013 has anyone ever had this problem before? or does anyone know what else could it be? ANY help GREATLY appreciated.

Hi, I am playing fortnite but am suffering with very inconsistent frame times. This is a brand new machine and i haven't played any other games on it but it just doesn't feel right. My specs are Ryzen2600x 16gb ddr4 3200mhz (2x8) rx 570 8gb I can get 100-120 fps on high/ultra settings but even when i cap my machine at 60fps it still feels stuttery and almost unplayable. AMD says all my drivers are up to date and so does windows. I am playing 1080o=p on a 4K 60hz monitor and so im wondering if that is the problem but even when i cap the frames at 60fps it doesnt really improve. Ive tried freesync (my monitor is capable) and vsync but nothing seems to alleviate the issue. ive also tried running it on minimal settings at 1080p capped at 60fps and im still getting incosistent frametimes. Do you think buying a 144hz 1080p monitor would fix the issue or is frame time the same no matter what peripheral you are using? Regards,

First off, here’s my specs Mobo: Asus Prime Z390-A Ram: 4x4gb G.Skill Ripjaws 2133mhz CPU: i7 9700k Cooler: NZXT Kraken x52 GPU: EVGA 1080ti ftw3 PSU: EVGA Supernova 750 G3 HDD: Seagate 2tb (https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148834) SSD/boot drive: Kingston 120gb (https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820721107) So about a year and a half ago I upgraded to both a 1080ti Ftw3 and a new 1440p 144hz G-Sync monitor(Dell S2716DG), as well as adding 2 more sticks of RAM to make 16gb from my old gtx 970 that ran great, pretty much all games at 144fps at 1080p. And the 1080ti was awesome even with my i5 6600k which I thought would bottleneck, but it didn't and I had smooth gameplay all up until that summer. I have literally no clue what happened. I added a second monitor (the same one as before for a dual 1440p setup) and that’s it. All of my games now have these small hitches or stutters that will occur at any frame cap or frame rate. Even limited at 60fps or 30fps it will drop just under to like 57fps or 28fps and freeze up the game for a second then go right back to the frame cap/the normal fps. I feel like I have tried absolutely everything up to this point and am completely dumbfounded. I have: Reinstalled windows countless times Upgraded my power supply 3 times Upgraded to an i7 9700k and a Z390-a Mobo with it Upgraded to a NZXT Kraken x52 RMAed my 1080ti DDUed graphics drivers/and just reinstalled drivers in general Pretty much every single windows optimization/tweak imaginable Reset all overclocks to stock Checked the RAM sticks Tried using my Xbox controller and without/both have same issue Tried unplugging all of my front USBs Tested using only my original monitor, no change. Looked through all utilization charts, no glaring spikes or drops At this point I don’t know what I can do because I feel like I have ruled out everything but the drives, but both when running diagnostics say they are fine and I don’t have means to test another drive. I’m honestly desperate. I feel like for the last year I haven’t enjoyed playing anything on my PC and am beginning to regret the investment all together if I can’t fix this. Something must have happened around June of 2018, because when playing Spec Ops the Line prior to going on vacation I know for a fact it didn’t stutter as it does now, along with the batman arkham games, super meat boy, terraria, and more that I played before this issue. Oddly, a select few games I’ve tried run fine with way less occasional hitching to not make it unplayable like the others, and they all seem to be much newer/graphically demanding. GTA V, Doom, Battlefield 1, and Tomb Raider are examples of this. They still do have their hitches/microstutter, but much less frequent. I’ve spent more time reading forum posts and troubleshooting whenever I’m on my PC than playing games at this point. If anyone could help that would be amazing. Thanks. edit shoot, I forgot I have this pcie wifi adapter: Qualcomm Atheros AR9287 I use ethernet from a wifi extender in my room as I don't have access to the modem, but does anyone think this could cause any issues? Granted I'm not sure what it could cause but I've had it ever since first building this PC. Totally spaced on it existing lol. Seemingly have the newest drivers.

Hello there, So in all games which I play on, I'm experiencing a lot of frame rate and frame time spikes all around, even frametime is considerably high to the framerates, which means you don't really feel it smooth. Those are my games:(Battlefield3&4&1&5), (NFS PayBack), (GTA V) , (C.O.D WW2), and other titles. My PC is 2 years old, have replaced my GTX 1080 twice due to a failure issues, (electric related), have had a CPU failure(I7-6800K), due to a bad overclock(don't know if my GPU failure was because of that). My full rig specs: GTX 1080, I7-6850K @Stock,(Corsair H60 AIO Cooler), PSU Thermaltake Smart RGB 600W, 16GB 2400MHZ 1STICK, Gigabyte X99-UD4, 1TB 860 EVO+250 850 EVO+2TB HDD G-Sync 2560x1440p 144-165HZ(Overclock-able)1ms response time You can see it in a full detail as well below(by DXDIAG). I'll also attach two files which contain : GPU Usage Core Clock Power Memory Clock Memory Usage Framerate Frametime CPU Temperature (not CPU1, CPU2 etc) CPU1 t/m CPUn Usage (meaning all numbers of threads you have, don't select CPU Usage without a number) CPU clock speed RAM Usage I watched a previous recording I had been doing while playing GTA 5 ,that time, the game was running on the failure I7-6800K, and if I remember right, my GPU too (was bad), and my whole system at that point was struggling(wasn't able to play more than a consistent 1 hour, before I got a BSOD), my frametime were so much better than now!!!., how could that be?, a failure system with a lower CPU clock speed and a lower GPU core clock, but it performed better!!!. Anyway, thanks.

i have the below which can run mostly all games on 100+ frames with no issue. i5 8400 Vega 64 16gigs Ram LG 29uc88 29ultrawide monitor @80mhz. i occasionally play online game like BO4 and R6, my question is does higher frames gives competitive advantage over other with less FPS? what is more important in online gaming? FPS?, PING?, input lag?, response time?... thanks,

I've searched this problem multiple times, havent found solution, I'm desperate and tired of this. This is exactly my build and the parts I currently have: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Shigakure/saved/FjQtJx Doom Fortnite uncap frames no g sync: Fortnite cap 162fps, g sync on I also limited the game to 120fps, and the fps here went from 120 to 119, and a stutter in frametime happened: These are the frametimes I get when playing games. The big spikes are not really the problem, its the "small ones" that happen during gameplay (although Im not sure if those big ones are normal, but those happen when i see loading screens, or when I get in the fortnite bus, etc). I'm at 7ms, and suddenly goes to 16-30, out of nowhere. It happens in other games. I tried on Doom and it happened, but when I limit the fps to 60, happened way less, but still there were having frametime spikes. Same thing limiting fortnite to 60fps. Please let me know what kind of tests I could do or you would like me to show you, maybe recording gameplay, I dont know. Things I've tried: - Formating Windows 10 - DDU drivers, old drivers for gpu - Different nvidia settings, enabling and disabling max performance - Play games on SSD and also HDD - Update BIOS - Enabling and disabling xmp profile (its currently running at 3200mhz dual channel) - Limit fps, v sync on, off, g sync on, off. Limit fps using rivatunner as well. - I've tried different monitors too. I have no overclock. This pc is really new (from december), I've been weeks trying to find a solution, but havent found it yet. Hope you can help me, thank you.

Hi, so I have been getting frametime spikes and stutters and microstutters across almost all games on 5 different PCs, 4 prebuilt and 1 built by me, I have tried reinstalling windows 10 and buying both windows 10 home and pro again, I have tried 4 different moniters, 60hz, 120, 144hz, and 240hz and at 4 different locations, It happens in offline and online games, I have tried VSYNC, GSYNC, Adaptive Sync, Capping FPS below hz rate, Almost every nvidia control panel variation, reinstalling drivers, installing old drivers, new drivers, reinstalling windows, buying new windows, replacing every cord, tried different keyboards and mouses, updating bios, different bios settings, xmp off, on, so I figured it might be a power issue so I had an electrician come by and rewire the outlet and connect it straight to the breaker and that did not fix the issue so I also tried a power conditioner, a UPS, multiple surge protectors, and many more thing that I cant think of at the moment to try to fix this issue, I have had this issue ever since I got my first pc 3 years ago, I understand if you could not help me with this, In that case could you please refer me to someone who can, Thank You

Hi all, Matt Salopek here. I'd like to think I know a good bit about pc gaming and hardware, but this is stumping me hard. Correct me if I'm wrong, but "frametime," displayed in "ms" in Afterburner OSD and otherwise, is the small amount of time it takes for input to be recognized by the game, the frame to be rendered, and then put to the display. It seems to be most noticeable in the delay between strafing the mouse and the game reacting to it. I've been wrestling to decrease this for months. I'm not exactly sure what normal is, but basically in all games I have, my frametime seems to be around 10-15 ms, which is quite noticeable. The only game in which it is low enough to be almost imperceptible is Fortnite, in which the ms reads around 5 or 6. I cannot tell if it depends on hardware or what. For example, in Fortnite, obviously not too demanding of a game, running 1080p I get 70-100fps with 5 or so ms. However, in Shadow of War, a more demanding game, I can get 60-70 fps at 1440p but have an ms of at least 15, making it much harder to play. How can the game look and run great, even at 1440p, but still have that high of a frametime? Ugh. Let me be clear--it seems that everyone else's problem with frametime is inconsistency and stuttering. With me, I have consistently high frametime. I don't really have stuttering, just lots of delay between mouse/input and response. I have done a lot of monitoring with Afterburner OSD and cannot see anything else what would be indicative of my problem. I'm overclocking both CPU and GPU, but never see either at 100% usage, so I guess I don't have a bottleneck from either? My setup is a Ryzen 5 1600, and RX 580 4gb and 16gb DDR4. I also have an MSI MAG27CQ 5 or less ms response time monitor. I'll attach my dxdiag report too. I thank any and all who have some input or help. Thanks! DxDiag.txt
