Hi everyone, i just got the Cooler Master V750 SFX GOLD and y tried to use it with an Aorus X570I Pro Wifi to uptdate the Bios, in order to use Ryzen 5000, but when I plugged it to the motherboard with anything else connected, to update it with QFLASH, nothing happens, so i tried to test the PSU, i bridged the 4 and 5 pins of the 24pin cable and the fan did not spined. But soon after y disconnected the bridge, the fan start spinning for a second, so is the PSU dead ? pls help ty beforehand

Hello folks! I need some help troubleshooting a older laptop that last year stopped working. _Specs: Hp pavilion dv6 (2007-2009 circa) 4gb No hard disk installed Used to work just fine. Bios was already set up to accept external usb live boot, but i removed the CMOS so i'm not sure this setting would still be true or false by default _Backstory: Last year my dad's laptop stopped working without apparent reason. It has Windows on an ssd, don't know if the day before it did any updates, but when he went to power on, it lit up, fans spinning but no display output (not even bios or boot up sequence). I think I tried to output to his tv boa hdmi with the fn button to switch monitor with no success. Since it was already old and slowing down I found a deal on Amazon and just bought him a new one; Since i had his files already backed up to NAS, i formatted its sdd and used in my pc, and left the laptop in a drawer for future troubleshooting. Now I'm just beginning to learn programming and IT stuff and wanted to use it as a headless server to learn, and maybe salvage the screen if it works and use it as a secondary monitor in my system (if possible). _Problem The laptop powers on, display stays off, not even backlight turns on, fans spin, capslock leds and touch control leds light up, system seems to boot. Led lights blinking pattern doesn't match any error codes mentioned in the manuals i've seen so far. I'm kinda level 0 about hardware troubleshooting, so i need some help to figure out what steps to take first and how to do it Places where i already asked mentioned it could be a corrupt bios that doesn't allow booting, but for what i'm used to, when my pc couldn't boot, simply short pressing the power button would result in pc turning off, while if my pc could boot but wouldn't load desktop or any output, to turn it off i would need a long press to power off. I searched around and asked some (not-so-friendly-as-advertised) communities and their responses ranged from a "dead gpu", to a "corrupt BIOS" , with no additional info or answers like: _ If i have a dead gpu, will i still be able to use it as a headless server installing some sort of linux distro and ssh to set up a headless server? _ can BIOS be re flashed or resetted? _does a broken BIOS mean the pc now is just trash? I looked by myself into it, i removed the CMOS battery and left it some hours out to "reset the BIOS to original" i guess, but no luck ( I didn't look for a physical bios reset button, since i wanted to leave major disassembly for later options). About the gpu i found a detailed video to "reflush" or "resolder" it with a thermal gun, but even if i kinda have the technical abilities to physically do it, I feel it kinda sketch and would drain a lot of time; I'd rather if possible use it headless. Is there any better way to approach this troubleshooting in a smarter way? i.e. _trying to get some kind of error bip code _using a linux live boot to output to external video output _using a live usb with ssh already set up and trying to connect to it via ssh (headless like a raspberry pi procedure) Again, i don't really know how to start a checklist of troubleshooting in this situation, nor how to do the steps I just mentioned. Any help would be appreciated, eli5 level is what i think i'm at in this field . Thanks for the attention!

Hello LTT Forum! I have a dilemma that I have been unable to solve, and hope you may be able to help me. Before I begin explaining the problem and how it came about, my PC specs: Ryzen 7 3700x 16 GB memory 500gb intel nvme ssd asus rtx 2060s(reference cooler) Board 1: b450 Asus Board Board 2: Asus b550m Tuf Gaming Motherboard The problem started two days ago when I was overclocking my memory to its rated speed of 3000 mhz from the 2133 it was at by default. I just immediately bumped the speeds up to 3000, like an idiot, and saved and exited my bios. Afterwards when I turned on my pc, there was no boot, no post, but there was a signal going to my display. Nonetheless, no display was there. I figured I just had to clear my cmos/bios and it would solve its self. I first turned off my pc, unplugged it, took out cmos battery out, pressed the power button for 15 seconds to discharge capacitors, then waited 15 mins to replace the cmos battery. This did not work. After this, I tried shorting the ctrl c jumpers on my board in another attempt to clear my bios, but like the amateur I am I shorted it while the pc was powered on. I then realized that was probably a massive F!$@ up, cause I was supposed to turn the pc off prior to that. I concluded that I fried the mobo, and resolved to just pony up and get a new one. So I went to microcenter and bought a b550-m tuf mobo from Asus, and transferred my old pc components to the new board. I test fitted the pc outside the case, on the static proof mobo bag on top of the box, starting with only the cpu, one stick of memory, and my gpu. The rgb on the board lit up, along with the gpu, and the gpu and cpu fan started spinning. But still, I couldn’t get a post, my monitor just registered that there was a display signal. I tried reseated the ram, in all 4 slots, and each stick individually to no avail. At this point I’m at a loss, because I did everything I can do without help from this forum or my local computer shop. So here are my questions: Do you think my chip fried, and that’s the problem? Though I should still get a post from just a mobo tho right... could placing in a fried chip in a new board in turn fry that board? This could explain the no post problem. I already did the paper clip test on my PSU, and my components are getting power when I turn the PSU on, but could it still be a PSU problem? Anyways thanks for reading this, and feedback/input would be amazing.

Hi, my pc was working fine this morning then a few hours later no post. The ram rgb lights up, gpu turns on, fans spin, but no bios or windows. The diagnostic LEDs turn on for cpu, and flash for ram ever 5ish seconds. I've reseated the ram, cpu and cmos battery, but no change. Ram seems fine, I've tried with 1 stick at a time and with no ram. I assume it's the CPU or motherboard? PC specs; Ryzen 2700 G. Skill tridentz rgb ddr4 2933 2x8gb(F4-2933C16D-16GTZRX) Corsair h60 Gigabyte x470 ultra gaming, bios version f3g Msi 1060 6gb Evga g3 650watt 1TB WD HDD 250gb Samsung Evo 750 Nzxt s340 elite

Hey, I've a Alienware 14 but it Is not turning on. I connect the AC but it only spins the fan. I click the power button but nothing shows up. What can i do? Sorry for my english, i'm mexican lol Thx for Ur help
