  1. I'm gonna preface this post by saying I only REALLY notice this with minecraft. My specs are: i7-4790k @4.0 Ghz 32 gb DDR3 3333mHz Gtx 1080, Gigabyte G1 Gaming Intell SSD Seagate 4tb SSHD ROG Maximus VII Hero My framerate in minecraft is, normally, over 100fps, sometime breaking 300, (4k, max settings while running a bukkit/minecraft server with plugins the proper way, no evolve/hamachi), whether I'm on my server or playing offline. However, occasionally, my framerate will just drop to ~10-33 fps, even in single player, for a week or two. When that happens, I go to GeForce Experience and usually an update is available. Once I update my drivers, I'm back to ~240fps for a while, before it drops to ~26 and I update my graphics drivers again. Is Geforce Experience intentionally dropping my framerate to force me to update? Is the slowdown build into the drivers? Why wouldn't my fps be consistent on a certain driver and then improve slightly when I update like it should? Why does it instead tank my performance until I update, then return me to the performance I was getting before it tanked, after I update again? Am I crazy or is there something going on behind the scenes? Again, this is extremely noticeable in Minecraft, but has occured in other games. I know having GE causes, while playing a game on one monitor in Fullscreen, videos to buffer and stutter on another monitor when watching with services such as Netflix, YouTube, and twitch on Chrome. Does it also break my FPS to force me to update?
  2. AMD Drivers

Hello. I recently had a problem with my GPU i posted the problem in this forum. It was called 'Vertical lines GPU crash'. Well since then nothing has changed until I tried one more thing. After uninstalling the GPU drivers with DDU in safe mode I would normally reinstall them to see if that helped (which it did not). But this time I didn't and just used the computer for small task like in before testing (with drivers installed).. googling, watching youtube etc. And now the computer (GPU) didn't crash like before (vertical lines on the screen/no response). Does anybody know what that means? Is the GPU still dead, or is some other factor in play? I really need to know before I switch the card for sure. Any help would be appriciated.
  3. AM4 RAID 0 Set Up

Hello People,Right I got myself a nice new Ryzen 5 1600 and a more matte than shiny X370 Gaming Pro Carbon from the good folks at MSI.So been working away setting the system up and getting my RAID 0 array built then problems problems problems....For some reason I can't seem to get windows to install on the raid array.Every time I try to I get the same issues. So how I build the array was through the BIOS. Secure Erased both drives first so they where nice and clean then set up the RAID array everything's going fine then I get to windows install, go through the whole load driver thing then the problem is I get back to the which do you want and then I have drive 0 part 1 128MB total space, 128mb free space, MSR reserveddrive 0 part 2: new volume 465.6GB total space 423.4GB free space, primary. Now at the bottom of the screen its saying windows cant be installed on drive 0 partition X.So drives I am using are a pair of Samsung 840 EVO's they are 120GB drives.Am I going wrong somewhere? or am I missing something?
  4. Hi, So i’m having a big issue with my Dell Inspiron 5558 Laptop. I can not connect to any wireless internet and ethernet is not an option for me at the moment. I also can’t use any audio for some reason. It seems to be a driver problem. I have uninstalled (and deleted the driver software) the drivers multiple times, shutting down and restarting each time. I have also reset my router twice. They still don’t work. I am reluctant to do a fresh install because I will lose everything, including my Microsoft Office 2016 (which i lost the product key for). The drivers in question are: Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160 Realtek PCIe FE Family Computer High Definition Audio Controller High Definition Audio Controller (yes there’s 2) They each are spitting out: For the Audio: “This device cannot start. (Code 10) Insufficient system resources exist to complete the API.” For the Wireless and Realtek: ”This device cannot start. (Code 10) {Operation Failed} The requested operation was unsuccessful” My computer info: OS: Microsoft Windows 10 Home Version: 10.0.16299 Build 16299 OS Manufacturer: Microsoft Corporation System Manufacturer: Dell Inc. 5. Recently I made my first Computer Build. In it is a Ryzen 3 1200, GTX 970, 8gb ram and a Msi B350m mortar motherboard. I immediately updated the bios due to it originally only showing 2 cores (updated and fixed, shows all 4). I then download a Windows 10 iso. and installed it on a USB 2.0 flash drive using Rufus. I booted on the flash drive and selected to Install. I was then greated with a message stating "A Media driver your computer needs is missing". I searched for fixes online must leading me to INTEL RST, but I assume this will not work with AMD's architecture. Any help on a fix to this driver issue would be greatly appreciated.
  6. I can install windows

I dont know what to do please help. It just wont work.
  7. Hello, I bought this chinese laptop, brand ENZ and I can not install the updated drivers from nvidia... Here is a detailed explanation of the video that I am posting on youtube about the issue. https://youtu.be/YsX6M442ox8 In the video first you can appreciate how I try to update the drivers from geforce experience, it does not work, then i go to nvidia's website and try downloading the latest driver for my device which is a gtx 960m on windows 10 64 bit, I try to install it, it does not work, then I try to modify a file for it to recognize my graphics card, and it does recognize it and starts the installation but it fails anyway, and I tried all this in safemode too but it is not shown on the video... Then there are no updates from windows update for my card unless I uninstall them in safemode with DDU, and suddenly, the menu of nvidia, the nvidia control panel is gone, when I start a game no matter if I select use nvidia gpu on the nvidia control panel when it WAS there, you can see that it is using the integrated intel graphics, it never uses the dedicated 960m graphics, and now, the 960m display adapter option is gone after attempting to update the drivers from geforce experience or via the nvidia's website, only after a restart windows update will install very OLD drivers that don't let me play some games and those that I can play play very bad because they do not have optimized drivers. And that is my issue, I do have nvidia's drivers, I do can install and use geforce experience, but the drivers are like SUPER old, and I can not upgrade them to have a little better perfomance on the newest games like fortnite that I plan on playing on this laptop, I don't plan to play Rainbow Six Siege but is is the only game I own that shows the gpu that is being used. And even when the drivers are working, when I mark the option to prefer the nvidia gpu it still uses the integrated graphics... I as far as I know have tried EVERYTHING.
  8. Hi , so i own a rx480 and when i turn instant replay on from the amd drivers it instantly bumps up the usage to 80-85% even if my pc in in idle , instant replay is set to 3 minutes at the bitrate of 30mbps so it shouldnt go anywhere close to that percentage of usage especially when the video card should be idle pretty much in windows .. can anyone help me out or tell me if i configured something wrong thanks!
  9. I just bought a new Asus Strix z270E motherboard for myself and installed it with my 7700k. I tried to install the latest drivers directly from the asus website but some of them had the same message that pops up -> "can't open AsIO.sys !! (2)", preventing me from installing certain drivers. The ones that had this message were the following: - Asus AURA (Utilities): this one allowed me to install after the message but the program doesn't work... It is saying that it can't find the peripherals with RGB (the motherboard has some on it) - MeUpdateTool (BIOS) Also, I have no idea how to install the latest BIOS update. Does anybody know what I should do? Mobo: ASUS Strix z270E CPU: Intel i7-7700k RAM: GSkill NT Series 16GB (2x8GB) 2133MHz GC: Gigabyte 1080Ti FE PSU: EVGA 750 BQ Storage: 250GB SSD, 2TB HDD
  10. HEADER: Hello, sorry for posting often buut im a newbie with a lot of questions and this forum has been on point for answers.. like really you guys have solved all my problems so thank you! Anyways, I was playing PUBG last night when i recieved this BSOD twice and i cannot find out why its happening if my life depended on it! my only guess would be because i have my system overclocked and this was caused from an instability? I understand that whoscrashed says its a driver problem but if soo how would i determine which driver is at fault? I have went through my device manager and nothing appears to be causing any problems.. Would reinstalling my GPU driver do the trick? Although i already did this a week ago soo i dont see how it could have already gone bad! If any more information is needed than what is provided feel free to ask and ill post it ASAP! id really enjoy for all my problems to go away!! My PC is running stable after stress tests.. I have it tuned to 4.4ghz @ 1.220volts max temp is below 80 degrees.. memory is on XMP @ 3200mhz sitting at 1.350v if any of this info is useful. 11. So my problem is that my audio drivers make my game (cs:go) look as though I'm playing on extremely low FPS. I've found out that if i have more than 1 audio driver installed at the same time, the problem occurs. I used to just uninstall my 2 other drivers and they would reinstall after I reboot my pc. I was completely fine with that, but now my other drivers automatically reinstall after every minute or so. I think that is, because my computer detects I have an HDMI cable connected, which can also produce sound. I almost always use headphones and my Realtek driver is really the only one I need, but for some reason, it doesn't support HDMI so the other drivers install themselves. I cannot unplug my HDMI cable since it's my only screen (It's a simple 24inch LG TV). I'm in the process of updating my version of Windows 10, I'm currently on 1511 and I'll update this topic if I solve the issue. I would be grateful if you could tell me how to stop my drivers from automatically reinstalling or just explaining the issue a bit more to me. Thanks for your time.
  12. PC freezing while gaming

So, ever since the fall creators update my PC has been experiencing random freezing/ locking ups. After it freezes I am able to push my restart button and everything is fine, there are no errors or messages from windows upon restart as well. My CPU temps were high so I got a Hyper D92 from Cooler Master and its fine, but it still freezes. I did a RAM health check and everything is fine with the RAM. I do have a 500w PSU, but even at high gaming load I never go over 410w of use. I have done several installs of Windows 10 and I am still having the same issues. I have stress tested my GPU with Furmark for 30min and it was fine as well. And I have used DDU to remove my GPU drivers more times than I would like to admit. If anyone could help me I would appreciate it, as I am only moderately tech savvy. PC specs: CPU - AMD FX-8370 "8" Core CPU Cooler - Cooler Master Hyper D92 Motherboard - Asus m5a99fx pro r2.0 RAM - 16Gb DDR3 2400mhz (@ 2400mhz) GPU - Asus RX-480 8Gb (No OC) PSU - EVGA 500w 80+ Bronze SSD - 240Gb SanDisk HDD - 1Tb Hitachi (Very old drive) Optical - HP Disk Drive
  13. Hi, so I have a few hard drives, all installed with Windows 7, I need to find out what motherboard was previously with which hard drive. (E.g. Hard drive A was in a system with B150M-D3H motherboard, hard drive B was in a system with H61M-S2P motherboard.) The only way I can think of is somehow accessing the drivers installed because if you have a different motherboard or a CPU, on the bottom right tray it will install new drivers for the new hardware. Can someone advise me on how to figure this out, it would be great if I also could find out the CPU model that was in the system too. Thanks.
  14. My WMR headset (Fujitsu) works fine on my laptop (Asus GL502). But it doesn't seem to work on my desktop (8700k, 1080 Ti, 32GB Memory, - Factory Settings) I keep getting this error message: "Something went wrong 2181038087-4" According to https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/mixed-reality/enthusiast-guide/troubleshooting-windows-mixed-reality But none of these suggestions work at all no matter how many times I reset my PC. Would appreciate any help I can get. Thanks!
  15. I installed a new cpu/motherboard yesterday and ever since ive had som weird ass stuff happening with the internet. I installed all of the drivers from the CD and all that. However, straight after installing said drivers (including the latest realtek ethernet drivers) The internet speed was, according to speedtest, fine. However, websites would load extremely slow/not at all, skype/onedrive/google drive took an eternity to log in and steam whilst not going into offline mode, would be able to start up (although it put me offline). But after i restarted, everything was fine (Other than fistful of frags still wouldnt show any servers). But when i restart/turn on again, it would go back to its slow, crappy state. I tried backdating ethernet drivers to no avail. My cpu is a ryzen 3 and my motherboard is an asus prime b350m-k I'll attempt a factory reset and see what happens.
  16. My driver's got deleted

I just updated my drivers on my gtx1060 asus laptop and the update failed deleting all my driver's...Nvidia's website also seems of no help cuz the drivers also failed when trying to reinstall. Can somebody plz help
  17. Hello, there I think that my GPU might be dying..There are multiple different symptoms, which might be caused by different things, but the recent one made me think that it is probably the GPU. Full specs: CPU: i7 4790k (not overclocked at the moment) MB: ASUS Z97 Sabertooth Mark S GPU: Galax GTX980 HOF (it was overclocked for a very short period of time) RAM: Kingston DDR3 HyperX Fury 1866MHz (4 sticks x 4 Gb) PSU: Thermaltake Toughpower XT Platinum 1275W Snow Edition Storage: SK hynix SH910 - OS, Samsung 850 EVO - games, WD Black - storage Dual monitor setup. Both connected by DP. Symptoms: 1) A few month ago, my PC started to shutdown randomly, while gaming. This was caused by ASUS anti-surge protection. I've done some googling and turned it off in UEFI. Might not be the smartest thing to do... 2) After that it was OK for a few month. And then...Sudden PC freezes while gaming. Complete system freeze with a crazy sound loop, keyboard and mouse are not functioning. Sometimes even the reset button is not working, so I have to hold the power button to shut down. The game itself is not demanding. It is an ~8 years old MMORPG. This happens more often that the next 2 symptoms; 3) Nvidia drivers stopped responding...First both monitors go black, then a couple of seconds later everything is back to normal. Sometimes it does not go back to normal. Primary monitor which has a game on is still black, while the secondary one is OK; 4) Pixelation thing (artifacts?) that can be seen on a screenshot below. It only happens on a primary monitor, which displays a game. I can still play the game, restarting the game brings it back to normal. What I've tried so far: 1) Different driver versions - 385, 353, 362. I've been using DDU to remove the drivers before installing another version. 2) Remove braided PSU extensions and connect GPU power directly using original PSU cables. While doing so, I found out that 2 pins on an 8-pin connector were 2-3mm off. For better understanding, I've made a reconstrucion of how it was and took a photo: I plugged everything properly and this fixed a problem for a whole day. Then it came back again =) Also, I noticed that there was a single power cable for 2x8-pin power connectors. So I decided to try and use 2 separate 8-pin cables; 3) Swapping GPU. So I took GTX960 from another PC and it worked for 1-2 hours without any problems. Probably will test it for a couple of days next time, I shall also put my GPU in another PC and see what happens there; 4) Increasing GPU voltage in MSI afterburner. Did not help; 5) Decreasing GPU clock in MSI afterburner. Did help for a few hours; 6) Cleaned the GPU rad and fans, re-applying the thermal compound. So...Is it really dying? =( And how could I know for sure?
  18. NEW PC, NEED HELP!

So I just built my PC last week and it was working fine until I reinstalled windows on it. Every 10 minutes or so the computer will restart or give me a blue screen. Or if I am not gaming it will do the same thing every hour or so. But every time I get the blue screen it will give me a diffferent error. Here are some of them: SYSTEM SERVICE EXPECTATION, KMODE EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED, KERNEL SECURITY CHECK FAILURE, UNEXPECTED JERNAL MIDE TRAP, SYSTEM TREAD EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED I looked how to fix some of them and it looks like its one of the drivers I downloaded, but i would have zero clue which one it would be. Also there is a red LED next to my RAM I don't know if that is bad or part of the issue. I don't think its teh temps. either on idle my CPU is 35 degrees and 46ish while gaming. PLEASE HELP SPECS IF NEEDED: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/H_DAW/saved/KqrtJx
  19. So I built my PC a while ago now and haven’t had any issues up until this point. A couple months ago my PC green screened and then died on me for no apparent reason, when I tried to reboot it the initial windows start up began and then the screen would go black. I thought it might be an issue with my hard drive as I’d had it a while and so I got a new HDD and installed windows once more. But as soon as I would install any form of driver for my display device (whether that be straight from AMDs website) or from the included disk my computer black screens and refuses to boot beyond the initial loading screen. It won’t even allow me to access the trouble shooting page. I’ve tried flashing my BIOS, GPU driver tools and I’ve created several clean boots of windows only to have them black screen as soon as I install video drivers of any sort. I’ve followed every single guide I can find for similar issues and none of them work. I’m completely out of ideas on how to amend this issue. I’m sure it’s the drivers because when I finally got one crash error report it stated a Video TDR failure which makes sense because as soon as the catalyst program installs the AMD display driver the PC black screens. Any help would be greatly appreciated as in at my wits end and I’m beginning to just consider giving up on my computer as building a new rig isn’t financially viable for me. My Specs are: AMD FX6300 @ 3.7ghz Saphire Radeon R9 270x 8Gb of Crutial ballistic ddr3 RAM Gigabyte 970A-UD3P motherboard 1TB WD HDD Corsair CX850M ATX powersupply thank you in advance for any support
  20. Not long ago, NVIDIA released an update to their end-user license agreement, and some of the additions to the agreement are rather alarming... From TechPowerUp: The recent addition can be found in the agreement which you have to accept before directly downloading GeForce-drivers from their site as the fourth point under section 2.1.3. I find it disturbing that NVIDIA feels like they have to prohibit usage in data centers just because they fail to offer enough value to their customers through their insanely expensive Quadro and Tesla cards. Are NVIDIA admitting here that their enterprise solutions aren't good enough/offer enough value compared to their "mainstream" alternatives?
  21. Don't meet the requirements to install drivers?

Hi sorry again, this problem that I have stumbled across this time is installing the motherboard drivers, I downloaded the latest drivers from the website put them onto a USB stick opened them on my new pc and this error message appears picture below. Anyone know the problem? Thanks in advance!
  22. Linux Drivers

Something I've noticed about the fancier NIC cards, particularly anything faster than 1 gigabit is that the Linux drivers available for them are often only for a single distro of Linux. Not having used anything Linux in ... well let's just go with over a decade, I don't know how divergent it's become, and how possible/impossible getting such drivers to work on another distribution might be. Any input and experience anyone would like to contribute would be great. Thanks!
  23. I have a MS-7613 Ver 1.1 motherboard I am trying to find an ethernet driver for and possibly a newer bios. Does anybody know a reputable site that has drivers for old hardware? I found this site, but I am skeptical: http://www.findlaptopdriver.com/driver-for-motherboard-download-lan-ethernet-drivers-ms-7613/
  24. Advice?

Hello, I am going to cut to the chase even though everyone is probably tired of getting these types of questions. I have a 5.1 system consisting of: 2 RCA SP2700Ts ('Full range' tower speakers from the 90's) 2 Polk T50's (Rear satellites) 1 Polk CS10 (Center) 1 Bic Acoustech PL-200 (Sub) The question is as follows. I have a $300 budget give or take some wiggle room. and I am debating about a nice pair of bookshelf speakers or retrofitting my RCA towers fully by using drivers from Parts Express. I do not know if towers are the way to go or if bookshelves. I guess I have never experienced 'True' audiophile speakers so I could not say myself what is the better purchase decision. I mostly use my system to watch movies and the listening space is a large room but has a lot of dampening from the bookshelves and other things in the room.
