Hello there. I need your help! My setup looks like this, Blue Yeti plugged in with USB. From the mic I connect my speakers through 3.5mm jack, and the audio works amazing. But when I switch from speakers to headphones, the sound gets distorted and when someone is speaking or singing it barely comes trough. My speakers do have 3.5 jack out, for headphones, but the problem is still present. Have not noticed a change in settings that windows 10 is showing even when switching between outputs, and it just happened when I watched a movie. Have also tried two different headphones, same problem. Re-Installed drivers, tried different USB holes. One of the headphones i brand new the other one is really old. *Disclaimer (first time on this forum and English is not my native language).

troubeshooting Help with moon drop blessing 2's distortion/buzzing
Pimpinpelican posted a topic in Audio
Hey all! I just got my pair of blessings and have fallen in love with music again. However I have been noticing some pretty apparent distortion/buzzing around 14khz and much more pronounced in piano high notes. Iv done all I can to exclude other potential culprits. So far I've used laptop headphone jack, phones USBC adaptor with a regular dongle and an aftermarket one, and a fiio e10k, I've also tried using Spotify max quality, tidal hifi and "masters" as well as local songs I have in flac, all with varying degrees of it present. I really don't want to have to return them but I suspect that's were im at, only other thing I can think of is I live in a pretty humid area (74% today) and have heard that can cause problems. But in such a short period of time? Any healp is greatly appreciated, thank you. Edit: forgot to mention it is significantly more apperent in the left earphone but very mild in the right -
I am a "proud owner" of a Galaxy S22 plus and recently i discovered an interesting "feature": whenever the phone goes throug sudden temperature changes (eg moving from cold outdoor to hot indoor during winter) or air pressure changes (eg flights or even moving from plains to mountains and vice versa) the speakers starts to act weird, every sound is distorted making it impossible to make a phone call or play any media. I seacherd the big ol' web and i discovered that many others (owners of galaxy s22 series, yes also S22 and S22 ultra) encountered this problem; some even recreates it putting the phone in the fridge for a couple of minutes (ye, I tried, it worked, it even started to do that while sitting in front of my car AC). It looks like a lack of the phone internal "pressure compensation" is causing this, causing the speaker membrane to vibrate more than intended, in fact opening the sim tray or even using an high pitch sound generator (similar to the one used by smartwatch to remove water) is reported to solve the problem right away (if you don't have the patience to wait a couple of hours for the problem to solve by itself). I went for a trip to the mountains (~1500 mt above sea level) from the plain where i live in 3 times and every time the bug presented itself. I'm half amazed and half shocked that a 1000+ $/€ flagship phone manages to be so poorly engineered in 2022 and frankly i think that this could be really dangerous in some situation (eg if something bad happen during a mountain trip and you have to call the Emergency Services). Of course samsung never recognised this as a flaw and never aknowledge this as an engineering problem. I am from Italy and class action here is not a thing, meaning that the only thing i can hope for is they accept my request to give me a refound after giving back the phone (very unlikely to happen, and i'm a bit mad because it is my very first flagship phone and i used to buy 350€ midrange phones in the past). Anyone experienced this? Does Linus need to put a bunch of S22 series phone in the fridge and/or in a flight to recreate the problem and bash Samsung? (i think the answer is yes).

Hey guys, first of all - I know there were threads about this problem already, on many forums, but most of them are either old or dead ends so I've no choice but to explain my problem in a new thread. Issue: I keep getting audio distortions - crackling, popping, etc. - after around 1-1,5h of using my soundbar (Sonos Ray) with my PC via optical cable (Aorus X570 Pro MOBO). I've managed to track down what's causing said problem, that being high DPC/ISR latencies - main culprits are: HDAudBus.sys, wdf0100.sys and dxgkrnl.sys Latency with those 3 tends to spike up to 10000, but it's slowly creeping up, it's not sudden - highest latency starts at ~150 (with average of ~10-50) and steadily increases over time to 1200 then spikes to 10000. The distortion seems to be happening only when I play a YouTube video for example, and is exaggerated when I move my cursor on said video. However, if the video plays in a separate tab and I have second one open with Google search for example, the distortion suddenly disappears. Same if a video is playing in the background and I'm on desktop. What I've tried: ~Updating all drivers, audio, chipset, GPU, etc. - no effect ~Updating Bios, twice with both Gigabyte recommended Bios version and the newest one - no effect ~Changing some Bios settings, including setting pcie from auto to Gen4 - no effect ~Changing power plan to high performance - no effect ~Changing various audio settings - no effect ~Using sfc /scannow, which fixed something, but unfortunately - no effect ~Only resetting my PC fixes the problem temporarily - turning the soundbar off/on does nothing, same with unplugging it ~During distortion changing source by streaming music from my phone provides clear sound, but switching back to PC as source the distortion is there again I've read that fTPM on Ryzen could lead to stutters, but I'm using W11 so I can't disable it. Also, May '22 Bios update supposedly was to fix that issues. It's not a speaker/soundbar related problem - it persisted when I connected Creative Stage V2 (3,5mm and USB connections), Samsung Q700B (optical) and now Sonos Ray (optical). However, I never had any problems with distortion, when I was using my old Fenda R50 (3,5mm connection) for 2+ years, even without latest audio drivers. Is there any way to fix this weird issue, besides reinstalling Windows? If that would even help... Should I consider getting internal sound card or something?

Hey guys, recently I bought Sonos Ray for my office and after some time of listening to podcasts or music sound starts to get distorted, fuzzy and there's cracking sound of some kind. These problems are more pronounced when I move my mouse. This soundbar is connected via optical cable. There are no such problems when I stream music from my phone, moving my mouse doesn't make any difference in that case. So far only resetting my PC fixes the problem. I've had Creative Stage V2 before and I had exactly the same problem - distortion after some time of playing (but using 3,5mm and USB connections) and only resetting the PC fixed the problem. Switching my Sonos off doesn't change anything, only PC reset helps. Could this issue be MOBO related? I have Aorus X570 Pro. Should I buy dedicated sound card or something? Thanks in advance for all replies.

Hi! I have a weird issue that's been bugging me for a few months. When I try to listen to media through my bluetooth headphones (Galaxy buds live) on my pc (WIN 10) through an usb Bluetooth adapter (vention BT 5.0) I get intermittent heavy distortion that stays until I move my head a bit and then is fine for a bit even after I return to my original position until the issue returns like 10 minutes later and the cycle repeats. And the adapter is literally 0,5m from my head so I'm completely baffled what could be stronger and interfering with it. I tried other BT adapters, reinstalling drivers, other ports etc. and the headphones work just fine with my phone. Thanks for any help

This is on MINT (20.3???)... I get this distortion, and you can hear it in the video below if you want.... but I get this distortion every time I visit certain sites. Fedex and Yandex Translate seem to be some of the worst about it. Why does this happen? Can I stop it? Here is a video of this matter https://odysee.com/@ARTOFTHEREÆL:4/Why-this-distortion:3

A streamer I follow had a really good sounding usb mic and then after a night of drinking on stream it started sounding really distorted like it's peaking. She never touched any mic settings and in obs she never goes past yellow. She has tried changing gain, noise gate, and compression with nothing helping. She did spill a drink on her headphones and PC where the USB is which I'm thinking is likely the issue. What part of her audio setup or mic could have gone bad to make it sound so horribly distorted? Am I right in thinking that the spill could have traveled up the USB and shorted or damaged the DAC or amp in her mic? She doesn't use any kind of dedicated preamp. Any support to save my ears is helpful.

So I got new parts for my PC yesterday (13th March 2017) and the audio was nice and clear. as it should be. however today after coming home I was greeted with a harsh distortion every time a sound was emitted from my PC sometimes accompanied by a high pitched screeching sound. upon discovering this I believe i have located the source; My New TUF Z270 Motherboard (Probably Electrical Interference). I came to this conclusion after testing my headphones and amp/speakers on multiple devices, and the Front I/O of my PC. It works Crystal clear on the front I/O but it's not an Elegant solution. I believe a DAC may help in this situation but am unsure of what is available in this market I don't need an amp as I've been using a Technics SU-G75 stereo amp for many years and have never been faced with any problems like this while using it. Any Suggestions?

i recently cleaned my computer using a can of compressed air and found that my audio coming from my speakers was distorted when i went back on my pc i have tried to fix the problem in a number of different ways. the first way way replacing my aux cable however this did nothing. i also tried plugging the audio cable it to my front io and the io on the motherboard at the back however this did nothing. i have also tried plugging in another speaker via aux and the same distortion occurs for this reason i know that the problem does not lie in my speakers or any of the hardware however i have also updated my drivers via device manager with no change to the audio. the distortion that i am hearing from the speakers is that of a fractured sound with static and a fan like sound (fractured) . the sound only occurs at certain pitches often in the lows. i have not found a solution online and am looking for an answer, i was thinking that maybe i have damaged something internally e.g.the HD audio socket and have unplugged and plugged it without a change in the situation

Hey guys! I recently purchased a pair of Philips 9500s headphones. They're quite good sounding, but when I play certain games, there's some kind of distortion or something. It'll be fine for some time, but then all of the sounds change. Reload and footsteps can't be heard, and gunshots sound different than usual. Is it the headphones, the cable, or the computer? I use onboard msi z170 audio. Thanks for the help!

Hi All, I don't know what it is, but recently I have been noticing some strange distortion with certain audio. I used to hear it every now and then but recently I have been noticing it more and more. Here is an example clip where I hear this. It almost sounds like audio clipping from too much input, but it's so faint. I have Kingston Hyper X Cloud 2's. I don't hear this on a lot of high quality music from Spotify as well as most YouTube videos, even when playing it far louder than the audio that I usually hear it in. I did notice it when recording my friend's saxophone, but I made sure to keep a good distance when recording it and reduced the raw input volume so it wouldn't clip at all. I just think it's kinda weird and didn't know if it happened to anyone else. Maybe it has to do with the microphone resonating at certain frequencies? Or maybe even if I reduce the volume, there is a physical clipping point for the microphone? - Kyle

Hello people, ok so my problem is that initially my headphones and mic (mine is decent HP H120 headset) used to work good and then all of a sudden the headphones started producing buzzing noise/ white noise/ electric interference and ultimately the static was so much that I gave up on the onboard audio and decided to buy a cheapo usb sound card, which was working fine 7-10 days until today when strangely headphones were fine but the mic is problematic (no bars rising on recording device tab or any other software e.g. - Google voice search, discord in any game) and I think the levels are too low for any program to detect and for some reason I think that it's more of a software problem than a hardware problem although I can just buy another sound card, any suggestions to fix this problem would be appreciated. Thank You.

Hi everyone, So I purchased the Brand New Rodecaster Pro Audio mixer and have connected it to my PC via the USB C connection. Everything shows up fine and have updated to the newest version. I immediately ran into problems with playback of audio. So I tested everything by playing a youtube video, everything sounded fine and then as soon as I stopped the video I got a high pitched tone, which only went when I loaded another audio source, Sometimes however the only thing that stops this is to power the unit off and on again. This happened on both versions of the software. The other problem I have is at totally random times everything will become distorted, again if I chose a different output and then go back it resets it but again its just a matter of time before it happens again. It seems to happen more when I change programmes etc. I have used a zoom H6 as an interface as well as a Behringer 1204 USB and have never run into this problem before. I am just spit balling while I wait for Rode to get back to me, on the off chance there is anything I can try to resolve this. Any help would be awesome Specs CPU: Ryzen 1700x Mobo: ROG Crosshair Hero VI RAM: 32gb Corsair 3000MHZ DDR4 GPU: Asus Strix GTX1080ti PSU: Corsair TXM 650 Watt power supply

Hey! I'm receiving mixed opinions from where my distortion in the sound on my pc is coming from. Some say it's coil whine. But witch part is it that makes this? I have PCI Asus Xonar D1 soundcard, RCA cable to amplifier (with 2 magnetic ring noice/disturbance filters). Very distinct noice that changes a little bit, and changed from what I'm doing at the computer. I.e. moving a window around, opening files etc.. Like the good ol' hard drive seek-sounds from back in the days. Coil whine or what? What should I do? Hey there, I have had an ASUS EeeBook F205T for the past six years, during which it has served me very welll. Today I noticed a strange distortion, when playing back media via YouTube (Firefox, Brave) or VLC. I subsequently removed all audio devices, since the Realtek driver caused a similar issue in the past. Unfortunately this did not resolve my problem. Upon opening the laptop I noticed, that the speaker on the right appears to be recessed. I checked various YouTube disassembly videos to see, if it should be this way. It should not. Is there a way to fix the speaker or do I need to replace the speaker assembley? Cheers, Ron

Specs: MSI MPG X570 Gaming Plus Ryzen 9 3950x Asus Dual Geforce OC RTX 2080 Super Trident Z Royal 2x16gb 3600mhz NZXT Kraken x73 I have been saving up for a pc for a long time, this is my first built pc, I followed the manuals for everything made sure things were plugged into the correct spots and I ended up getting a post first shot. Everything was running smoothly until I plugged in my headphones (Senneheiser Game One) After installing the recommended drivers from https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/MPG-X570-GAMING-PLUS#down-driver&Win10 64 I found that the audio was choppy and slightly distorted, making it basically unusable. Booting sometimes gets stuck on the black screen/MSI screen (I'm still not too familiar with the correct terminology so I apologize in advanced.) where it tells you which buttons to press to go into BIOS, Boot menu, ect. I troubleshooted, uninstalled/reinstalled drivers, but it is still choppy. Sometimes after restarting it's super choppy other times its barely choppy. Also tested different audio outputs including monitors, tv, headphones, earbuds, and they're all choppy. Yesterday I can't quite recall what I did but the audio issues seemed to go away, and the booting issues stayed. After turning off my pc and turning it back on today, the audio issues came back and now the whole system seems to stutter and distort along with the audio, I tested streaming into discord and others found that they couldn't tell that there were any issues. I've done my best to try testing and troubleshooting but I really don't know what else to do. I can't seem to get my audio working properly through any output source, and I'm unsure as what to do next. Excluding the audio issues and the occasional stutter the system seems to be working perfectly fine. If anyone has any ideas please let me know, I really want to be able to use my system

I've been battling with my computer for well over a year now diagnosing issues. It flashes lines on my screen, different color squares, black and white checkers, and almost anything else you can name. I sent back 3 monitors, two being the same kind before opting for a 4th different one as my final. I've also sent back five 1080 ti's, which have have all "failed" Zotac's testing facility. I am just getting back the 6th which "Passed." Don't even get me started on the nightmare they have been. I don't know whether my motherboard is potentially the issue and is corrupting the GPU's, or it is some other hardware issue. I've screen shared with a computer technician, and he is unable to see the issue when it's happening on my end. We've ruled it down to a hardware issue (we believe). I've sent in the motherboard, and it also came back with no issues. I've tested all four sticks of my ram individually. I've used onboard graphics to see if the problem persisted (it did). I've tried to use four other monitor cords (HDMI and DP) all which came with my two monitors and the problems persisted. Alt-tabbing is extremely slow and causes the screen to flash black and also sometimes flash lines. All of my drivers are up to date. Same thing with BIOS. I've tried 3 different versions of BIOS, a fresh Windows install, manually installing drivers, etc. all to no avail. I've found one other person with the same exact issue before, but it was back in November 2017. He never figured out the issue and stopped responding. I'm including a couple links with video of the issue happening. It has also distorted my monitor which did not go away instantly like in the videos. Hi all. Yesterday I played a song through my Chromecast (the audio goes from Chromecast/PC/NintendoSwitch to the Monitor, and then through a 3.5mm cable from the speaker output to my amplifier and then out to my speakers) The song's bass was completely fine on both speakers but as soon as the slick rick sample "Believe it or not" comes in as well as the rest of the song it is incredibly distorted, as if someone had made the song incredibly loud. It is also much quieter than the right speaker (which is fine) Is it blown? If it was... Wouldn't it be odd that only one is blown and the other is fine? I recorded this video which might help anyone diagnose the problem: https://photos.app.goo.gl/4DhWnSrtugZJQeMJ7 If I do have to replace the speakers, I'm thinking about the Mission LX-2?

So I noticed the terrible distortion on Linus's voice in the recent covering of Computex, which is completely fixable, even when it's just a bad recording. In the attachments, you will find a small sample of the original (clipped) audio, and the same sample 'declipped'. The difference is pretty noticeable: the declipped version lacks the 'crackling' on loud syllables ('headset') To achieve this, I used the declipper function of a program called "Stereo Tool". There is a demo on this page, and the tool itself can be found here. Clipped Sample.wav Declipped Sample.wav

I have this really annoying popping/crackling sound coming from my audio, it appears that it comes forth when using any form of program/app-related audio. It is extremely annoying and very present when listening to constant sounds such as Spotify or while gaming, however it doesn't appear as frequently or rather next to nothing when doing browser related stuff like streaming or watching Youtube. The popping is especially sharp when audio is cut off/interrupted, for ex. when i pause a youtube video, then it is easily noticed. Here is a video showing an example, as seen in it the popping only appears when listening to the program section, but not when listening directly to the headphones. Video link: The popping/crackling that appears in the video when i press the volume slider for "Systemljud" aka system sound, is extremely prevalent in many programs, PUBG, Spotify, Wolfenstein 2, Vermintide 2 and etc. I'm not sure if it came before or after i got a new PC a some months, back I can't quite remember but I'm pretty sure that it was there back then as well. At first i thought it was my old headset (Steelseries siberia 800) but it is present in my new headphones as well. (Audio Technica AD700x) What I have tried: Updating drivers switching headphones switching headphone jack tried a USB adapter to which I'm pretty sure uses a small soundcard to convert 3.5mm jacks into USB changing format quality (currently running my lowest 44100hz 16 bit) removing any "improvements" under audio configurations and a bunch of other small random things like changing energy/power options in windows for example. I have also tested out latency with DPC Latency but it gave me a very inconsistent read and since i was unfamiliar with the procedure I didn't really count too much on it, maybe I should...? My guess is that windows 10 is having some sort of issue, but I just can't figure out what it is. Please type in any theory or suggestion, thank you! So, I just recently realized that a lot of my friends heard a lot of background noise when I talk with them. I have a Blue Yeti, and when I plug my headset directly in it, it sounds fine, but when I hear the playback from windows, there's this weird grainy background noise, and if I raise my voice even just slightly it gets really distorted. I've tried rolling back my drivers, windows, and 3 cables but the problem persists. Does anyone have any idea as to what could be happening?
