Like the title says im having some problems with my new built pc. When i turn it on with the usb boot drive. It shows me the options to set up a new windows like it should for 3 sec then goes to black screen for 3 sec and continues to cycle trough the two states. Notice this is without me turning the pc off so something is messing with the connection of the display. I’ll add a video of it so you can better understand what i mean thanks for any help :) 71208927354__DDC835B5-1706-44C0-8CF3-6DD8F77F0F0D.MOV

Hey everyone! I hope you people are doing well. I have a problem I want to understand and if possible troubleshoot. Google searches has been unfruitful so far. Maybe I don't even know what to search for in the first place. I have a 1080p 60Hz display tablet of 13in that I have been using since 2020 and I use it a lot. Its for work as well as hobby so it is switched on over 15 hours a day, even on weekends. I have these artifacts cropping up, which look like dots. I initially thought it were dead pixels but they change color depending on what's being displayed as you can see. They're pink-ish dots against bright backgrounds and they change to white/grey dots against black or dark backgrounds. It is annoying, ugly and it is spreading. So can anyone tell me what am I looking at here? And if there's a fix for this? I also haven't touched any settings of this tablet other than basic stuff like contrast and brightness. Backlit level has been kept to 70 all these years. The maximum being 100. Other than that, there is no option for overdrive, overclock and stuff like that on this tablet. So I have not done anything I should not outside the manufacturer's recommended method of usage. The touch features on that part of the screen are unaffected. But that again has nothing really to do with the display, that's the pen's technology. But just putting that info out there if anyone can help me Note: It does heat up at the top 15% of the screen, uniformly, full left to right. And there's a vent at the back. The manual and other users on reddit claim this is normal. But coincidentally, it is the exact area where these artifacts are developing. So heating issues? But then again, the below problem looks nothing like the problem that is well known as "screen burn". So what the fish is this?

Hello, Currently on my systems new RTX 3070 I have attempted to use 3 different cables for a long run. The 3 cables were all 24ft, 2 of them brand new. The issue I ran into was the monitor recognizes the HDMI and the correct port that is being used, but no actual signal comes through. I know the card works because when I use the included 3 foot cable it works with no issues. So my only guesses are: 1. Somehow all 3 of those HDMI cables are bad and I got very unlucky. or 2. I will need to try HDMI 2.1 cables. Have people attempted to use HDMI over this distance with RTX cards, and if you have was that using HDMI 2.1?

Hello I have a Samsung S24D300 that I use as my main display on my gaming pc. When I want to work I plug my mouse, keyboard and monitor into my laptop, Acer Extensa 2540 i5-7200u running Intel HD Graphics 620. Windows 10 Education version 20H2 Usually I use a VGA 1366x768 monitor but I needed a larger display. But for some reason it doesn't work. Windows can see it, it shows 1 and 2. But no option works. Clicking Detect says Windows cant find it. The monitor will come on, shows HDMI, with that faded black look. So its on, but not working. I can move windows to the 2nd monitor but its just not displaying anything. I've even tried going into the Intel Graphics settings and changed the resolution, refresh rate, nothing works. Updated the drivers. Still nothing. So here's how I get it to work. I plug it back into my pc, do a factory reset on the monitor, plug it back into the laptop and it will work. It will stop working if I plug it back into my pc. Why is this happening?

I built a new PC a few months ago and it had Windows 11 set up from the drives, I wanted to play Valorant but Windows 11 has a TPM Problem so I decided to reset and use the windows 10 tool from Microsoft to update to Windows 10. I left it alone for a few hours, I came back to everything being on except my displays, which were on when I left it. Is there any way I can fix?

Hi, I just got the Xbox Series X but am already facing a problem with it. I believe it only supports 120Hz on monitors that have that timing in there "preset display modes", I believe it has something to do with EDID timings (not 100% sure here, learnt all of this today). So you can have a 144Hz monitor but it wont run at 120Hz on the Xbox Series X if the resolution/refresh rate is not in the presets table of the monitor. I know the monitor I have (Dell S2719DGF) can do 120Hz at 1440p as when I set up a custom resolution in the Nvidia control panel on my PC it worked fine, and the monitors OSD was reporting 1440p at 120Hz. Its also important to note that it works at 1080p 120Hz, and that resolution/refresh rate is listed in my monitors display modes table. I basically need to know if there is a way of adding additional preset values to the table stored on the monitor, because if there isn't I believe my options are to either hope Dell updates the drivers for the monitor and adds 1440p/120Hz to the table, or hope Xbox fully unlock the display settings allowing you to choose settings that aren't "officially" supported. I dont think either of these are likely to happen, so I fear I might be stuck if there is no way of solving this myself. I have spoken to both Xbox and Dell support, and they both ended up blaming each other, which I could see happening before I started this. I have attached an image of the table I'm talking about with the timings in-case I didn't explain it very well. Any help will be much appreciated! Thanks

I just built my PC Yesterday, and after about an hour of use, I began having display issues with my Sapphire RX 480. It first began when I downloaded Sapphire's TRIXX software and was messing with clock speeds. The screen began bugging out so i rebooted my PC. Now, when I boot up windows, the screen is glitching wherever I move my mouse. Its a bit like screen tearing but only on certain parts of the screen. Additionally, when I went into my bios and peeked around, It was telling me that my card was in a PCIE x16 slot running at x1. When I took out my GPU and reverted to HD 630 Integrated Graphics, everything worked as intended with no bugging. Here's a list of everything I know: - Screen glitches occur while posting in BIOS AND in windows. - Only occurs with my RX 480 (Integrated Graphics work as intended without issues) - x16 PCIE slot is running at x1 Speed Things I have done to fix the issue (without success) - Reinstalled latest drivers - Reverting all BIOS settings to Default - Switching from HDMI to DVI - Re-seating GPU - Uninstalling SAPPHIRE Trixx Software Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you.

Hello everyone! So, two ago I bought a PC from a retailer here in Croatia. It worked perfectly and I am quite pleased with it. Anyway, a few months ago I bought a DP cable and connected it all up... My PC instantly crashed and refused to boot up (it was stuck in a bootloop) until I disconnected the cable. Ever since then some random graphical errors occurred every now and then. I played a game that was quite GPU intensive (above 90% GPU usage at any given time) and after a few minutes my secondary (1360 x 768) display turned black with a "no signal" message, while my main (1920 x 1080) display started lagging and it started displaying black frames every few seconds (those black frames were on screen for about a second). It crashed after about a minute of that. I booted it up again but nothing was being displayed on the screens. I'm using a mini-DP port and a mini-HDMI port on my GPU. When the larger display was connected to the mini-DP port it wouldn't show anything but if connected the other way around (the larger display to the mini-HDMI port) it would display on both the screens. After messing with those connections I decided to run FurMark to check if the crashing was GPU-related (it was relatively obvious the GPU was to blame, but I wanted to make sure). The FurMark test crashed after about 2 minutes. I read up on the internet and concluded that underclocking my GPU was the next logical step. I underclocked both the memory and the core by 100 MHz. Started up FurMark and it ran for 30 minutes without any issues. I thought I had solved the problem... Yesterday the same thing happened - I was playing a GPU intensive game and it started having the display bugs and it ultimately crashed even when it was underclocked. I lowered the GPU clocks by another 50 MHz and it seems relatively stable for now. I would like to know if you have any ideas as to what the problem might be. Is it even able to be fixed or should I buy a new graphics card? Thank you for any and all answers!

Hello I'm having issues with my GTX 1070 displaying on both my monitors. I have a Acer 27" and a Samsung 27" I had a GTX 1060 in it before and it worked just fine. Every time I plug both monitors in they will both try and find a output. Any help

This is actually a very weird issue I have noticed on my newly build PC. The build uses an Asus GTX1650 and whenever I connect the PC to a new monitor, it does not detect the monitor at all. I have tried rebooting the system multiple times with no luck. The issue gets fixed when I hook n USB thumb drive to my motherboard. This is a weird issue and once the monitor is detected, it is working fine without the USB drive in the subsequent boots. Is this a common issue or is there something which I am doing wrong. PS: The build uses a Gigabyte DS3H B450 Motherboard

I have a new ultrawide connected with DisplayPort, and a 2nd monitor connected via HDMI, and now I'm noticing everytime the monitor itself goes into Standby mode that my icons and window locations are all messed up. My PC itself is set to never sleep, but its set to sleep the monitor after 15 minutes of inactivity. When I come back to it and log in again all my windows are in differnt places (top left) and I have to arrange them manually every time, which is a bit cumbersome to say the least, as I use the monitor for work during the day with lots of open windows in very specific locations. I've seen the posts on other forums about the NVIDIA Control panel overriding the EDID but that's only avaialble on Quatro cards, and other posts about the "Simulated" monitor in the registry, but I checked and mine does not have a simulated entry. -- I've already tried deleting all display configurations there too and rebooting so they get setup fresh, but no luck with that either. It just seems that the DisplayPort connection being put to sleep is what's causing it to act like only one monitor of two is present, forcing everything into the 2nd monitor, but when when I wake the DisplayPort monitor, it just pushes most things to the far left of the screen and I have to re-arrange everything. I have tried working around it with DisplayFusion's Windows Location profiles, but some programs do not move into place still. I've also tried working around it with PersistentWindows from GitHub, https://github.com/kangyu-california/PersistentWindows However that doesn't help with programs that are closed when I log back in, or things that open new windows, like Outlook opening a new email, it loads in the wrong spot, and I have to move it back to where I want it, which will be remembered until the next time the monitor goes into standby. TL;DR - Everytime my DisplayPort monitor goes to sleep it forgets where everything is at, and I have to manually move things back into place, even with "helper" programs that try to prevent this. I really need some help because it ends up taking up so much time every time I walk away from my PC long enough. Thanks in advance!

Earlier today I left my pc on for about an hour and I came back and the screen was black. I checked the monitor and i restarted my computer and everything looked fine on the pc however the nothing ever came up on the monitor. I tested out another gpu and another monitor and nothing seems to work. Everything smells fine and all fans are spinning however my motherboard lights aren't on. I tried a 1050ti that runs completely on the motherboard and the fans on it spin still. My power button is working however for some reason my reset button isn't working. My specs are i7 5820k, x99 ud4 motherboard, 8 gb ddr4, 980 ti, 960 evo ssd.

Interest problem So I have a GTX 1080, where Displayport (dp) 1 works fine and so does DVI. DP2 & 3 have power but won't display. I know they have power as when I put them into a display switch and remove power from the monitor, the light on the switch remains on. Note I have done driver updates and role-back to previous versions and done a firmware update. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, hope you could help me with my problem. I have this Acer TimelineX 4820TG with Windows 10 Build 10586. Before upgrading to this build I was using the first RTM of windows 10... My GPU (Radeon 5650) didn't work well after using Windows 10 for months so I decided to make it Intel GPU all the way (even after upgrading to build 10586). I hope I could fix this but I keep getting BSOD every time I boot with the Radeon GPU... So lately, I noticed that the LED display started flickering after I log into windows 10 then the screen dies when I'm on the desktop (1 or 2 minutes after logging in). I dunno how to fix this but I just noticed this after reformating into 10586. Should I downgrade build versions? I'm a bit tired of fixing it and making backup files before reformatting os. Do you think upgrading to the latest build will fix this issue or maybe it's the screen's problem? The DISPLAY works, only no backlight. I can still see thru the screen in bright surroundings. I am using a second monitor just to use this laptop for browsing and watching. thanks! hope you could help me

So I'll start this inquiry off with what I personally think is happening. Then I'll break down the exact steps that I took to broaden my story. I have my PC components listed on my profile and I was running Win 8.1 at the time I had these issues occur. Thanks to anyone who reads through this long post. The short version, if it makes sense to anyone, is as follows .... Control Panel will not display on my screen (running Win 8.1). It only appears on my taskbar. I tried various methods to open it, no luck. Restored my system from 8.1 to an older version, no luck. I upgraded to Win10, it worked for a brief moment, but it stopped displaying. I tried to get into Safe Mode by restarting and pressing Shift+F8, then I got a black screen every time I booted the PC. I plugged the HD into another PC, everything worked great! Plugged the HD back into my main PC, login screen came up, Control Panel came up, but stopped displaying after a short while. I think I have some graphics issue since I can see Control Panel on my taskbar and it will show the preview screen when I put my cursor over it. Long Version .... Yesterday, 12/29, so Dec 29th, I booted my computer like any other day, and I noticed that the application C Cleaner was missing from my desktop. i.e. The shortcut. So I clicked on Control Panel to look through my Program Features. Control Panel showed up on my taskbar as having been opened but the window would not appear on my screen. If i hovered my mouse over the icon, it would display the preview window. If I clicked on the preview window, Control Panel would still not display on my desktop. I started looking on Google for some answers. I tried to look through my System32 folder by searching for any .cpl files and opening them that way. Not 1 .cpl file in my System 32 folder would open. I used in a CMD window sfc /scannow but no files were missing or corrupted. After restarting my computer I look at my file associations but for every single .cpl file, Control Panel was the option selected. So I decided I would try a system restore. My last restore point was from the previous night. After the restore happened, Control Panel still would not open. I tried doing the same troubleshoots that I did prior to the restore but still nothing worked. I read through a few forums after that and then my File Explorer started to have the same issue as Control Panel. It would display on the taskbar but the window would not display. The only thing I could think to do was to upgrade to Win 10. (I know this was a very stupid mistake. I did not look into any of the features that Win 10 included, many of which I absolutely hate, but it was the only thing I could think of doing since I could not find any other solutions online.) Win10 is now installed. I clicked on Control Panel, BOOM! I clicked on File Explorer BOOM! I checked in my program features, C Cleaner was still there. So what did I do next?? I started to customize my Win10 start menu. Unpinning all the junk on it. Pinning Control Panel and all the programs for my various peripherals. Then it happened again..... Control Panel would not display!!! So at this point, I started to see a lot of posts about Win10 having this issue, even though I started having this issue before I upgraded to Win10. I also read about all the crap that Win10 came with and decided that I should just restore back to Win8.1 and try to fix my issue from there. But how do you get to the System Recovery menu when Control Panel will not open up?? SAFE MODE!!!! Except that I am in Win10........ !!!!!!! So apparently I can't just access the screen to boot in Safe Mode using F8 while running Win10 because it boots too fast??? WTF. But some people said that Shift+F8 would work after a restart. So I restarted the PC, mashed Shift+F8 and.......... black screen. Really??? I did a complete shut down, booted the PC and still a black screen. I was so furious that this grew into an even bigger problem. At this point, I put on my thinking hat and I took out my HD and plugged it into my other pc. I thought I could boot my second computer could boot into its HD, I could access my first HD, copy all the files I cared about over to the other HD and then do a clean Win 8.1 install. But my second PC booted right to my first HD. But sure enough, it booted right to the login screen, Control Panel AND File Explorer worked perfectly. I keep the PC running for a few hours since this same happened before but only after a few minutes Control Panel stopped working again. So now, I am thinking that either my Graphics Card or my Motherboard is having an issue with Control Panel not displaying onto the screen. It does not seem to be an problem with a certain file on my HD causing Control Panel not to open since everything worked fine when plugged into my second PC. I plugged my HD back into my main PC and it booted to the login screen. At least I fixed the black screen some how.... Control Panel would not open at all. File Explorer still works as of now, thankfully! Control Panel Minimized Control Panel Opened Control Panel Opened and preview window is open Anyone have any idea how to fix this issue? Thank you all for the responses.
